Wash & Refresh Dirty Braids | Try This Before You Take Them Down.

I've been wearing a hat to hide my dandruff but I wanted to try washing my braids to get rid of the dandruff and dirt and re-condition my braids I since went swimming. This method helped refresh my braids and get rid of the dirt, dandruff and buildup. I was able to wear my feed in braids an additional 2 weeks before taking them down.

Like this, like I'm swimming okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, I bet ground baby, Oh intro destiny. Intro sweetie! Can you intro me? Please hey destiny, so I literally just got here from the gym and ones who wash my hair in the shower. So I figured I would see everything up, but this is how I kind of had migraines when my dandruff starts to come back in and then I have my braids kind of hanging down. But I think my hair has been breaking up for about a week for the average person that doesn't have issues with dandruff, probably psoriasis. I need to go to a dermatologist to find out wait really. It may be I'm really whatever he is. I'Ve had it all. My life, so I just feel like there's no getting rid of it. Unless I get okay, none of it for some people, you may consider it two different options here. No this for two different options. Here you can either take down your brains and just start from scratch. If you braid your hair yourself like me, but even with that, if it's only been a week - and it took me five hours to do this by myself - the better option, especially if you pay for them like I said, I'd, do my own and I could take Them down and start from scratch like you, may have box braids or something that lasts, maybe two or three months. You don't want to start out with just because you get dad your orbit just because your hair starts to get you dirty. You may have gotten in the pool you need to get the chlorine out a heavy, really watched braids since a long time really, while I was in Dollar General yesterday, I wanted to try the other one, the nutria here, the shoulders ones they just came out with, But I didn't feel like wants to stores. I really just went first, and I saw they had the individual ones where you could get one of this same size for $ 7, or you could get these vice together and save. It literally says it right there. If you can get two things for the same price as one, you should get two. So this is the Head & Shoulders: coconut daily shampoo. It restores hair and scalp moisture infused with coconut builds flake-free up to 100 percent guarantee it does have power. Theon links, dandruff shampoo, it's proven healthy, hair and scalp, and I also have the matching sister sister brother, cousin, conditioner I'll, go ahead and change it to a swimming suit top lightly. Try to massage in my scalp. This will be trial and error, so you are with letís, get to see what I do and decide. Well, you oughta think it would be best for you all doing it at home. I was washing my hair and sink because it's easier than me having braids. I hope it doesn't come out if I was going to do this in the sink holding my hand forward in my kitchen I could rubberband the ends, because really this is all fake. So this is the thing that needs to get wash my scalp more, so just needs to be cleaned in the sink. What you could do is actually hold your head down. There way the water is only hitting hair forward, so I don't have to deal with getting this area where and heaven. My braids begins to slip out in this area. Why you want to try to wash your braids versus just taking them down starting over or paying to have them redone? If you get them done my sister, she has braids right now still, but she doesn't bring her own hair. She actually went to petty errands done so mentions, taking them down, starting over versus just trying to wash and preserve them. We'Re gon na try this myth it first, if not I'll, refrain my hair soul or just keep wearing my head, hey baby. Somebody needs to come out with something where that's my braids hanging underneath the head they're not really good to go. It will be easier to wash my hair in the shower if something that pulling this back like basically, it's gon na be for Yahoo. See me so. The water goes everywhere, that's another reason I don't watch somewhere in the shower, but here we go thanks. Man helping water on the way everywhere. What is video if y'all are youtubers there, you go babe, look, look the water comes from this angle. The best option would be to keep the current tool for most of the water come and then image, or do that, where you want to see me he's right here: okay, so let's discuss my approach with all of these. So since I have braids clearly, I can't dig all in my scalp. I can't comb through my hair, so I'm massaging and working these shampoo into my scalp and using sort of like the tip of my nails to kind of work the product on there and then, as I rinse it out, I literally take my hands and press up Against my scalp to make sure that I'm squeezing out the shampoo cuz, you don't really want to walk around with shampoo left within your braids. I'M gon na repeat that a second time and then we'll do the conditioning step, which is sort of the same thing. I let the conditioned to see while I showered, but the only thing I didn't like about this was that I did have to kind of reach our because after I rinse the conditioner out, I felt like the conditioner was on my skin. So if you can work around there and figure out how to do it in the sink, I would definitely recommend that, because yeah, I really just don't like to wash my hair in the shower. They like taking the conditioner a good amount of that, and basically rub that onto my scalp and my hair. This is braiding hair. You don't have to go all the way down, basically, especially because my shower is open like this. Now your conditioner stay a little bit, especially because your hair is kind of really tightly graded down. You want to make sure you get some sort of moisture back in and then I'll put this little turban twisty on my hair go ahead, Andy in my shower, but then I had to put the swimmers with top back on to rinse out the conditioner. They wake up sit for a while, but I'm basically pressing up against my hair to make sure I get the conditioner out of my braids. Then I had to shower again since I had conditioner on my skin. All of those different camera angles and my floor steal got kind of down. It should be pretty good. Oh, I hope I got it out all of this struggle. Looking better than before. I really couldn't afford to wash it too many more times. I would had started loosening up my braids. The redness is clearly from me kind of doing like they don't musk out so that'll go away. My hands are still tucked in for the most part. I see a little way right here, it's better than it was before. So I'm going to take now these two products, my anti dandruff conditioner vessel for eight, as well as my lock twist and break all that so for eight and applying that to my scalp, I'm just going to massage there and these two products together. I found work for about seven days to help keep my itching and flaking down. I'M gon na put a towel on me now, because the end of my braids are dripping everywhere, as they begin to try I'll come back. We'Ll do the edges and all that, but for now this is a hot mess. The water is everywhere. My sink would have definitely been a better option. If you're, not filming, you can definitely do it in the shower, but fulfillment it's a wrap. My floor is soaking wet. The braids are dripping down my robe right now, so I'll be back and we're back in about 20 minutes. My hair isn't that fully dry, but this is what it's looking like so far because of the ring light I feel like it's kind of it makes it look like my scalp is still white still flaky. I love it, but it's not and take some of this shine and jam and basically relay my edges and kind of touch up my parts and all of that just to refresh my braids and still help them to look neat. So these little techniques that we're doing definitely help you to prolong. You look like I said, especially if you pray pray. What what you should do that too, but especially if you pay for your hairstyle to get done, you wan na you know, take care of in making last, so i'm dipping the tip of this comb into these. So, for eight this is a hair grease and using the calm helps me to precisely apply this to my scalp. This looks so they look at their side. Look at that look at the before and after the hair, green Spacek Lindo. A lot of people really use all on their scalps lately, but whenever I go back to hair grease - and I forget all of the youtubes all nonsense, my scalp does very well. Let me just say: oh my gosh todo yeah, my sister just got back home, especially right here, where my own hair ends. If you didn't see me braid in my hair, definitely check that video out it's I mean obviously relevant. So this one, I don't want to overlay with so many products as we just cleans my scalp, but with my type of scalp. I definitely need something here to hold up my dandruff from coming back. The second going around will be taking them down. If you don't have dandruff, but you want to refresh your braids and lay down the fries, and all of that this is definitely an option that you have prolonged your look or a prolonged look. So the most likely put a picture up of when my braids or freshly done, but that's why I don't leave that much hair anyways as your brace get old. If you're into the whole baby hair thing, you would definitely get the chance to lay your edges eventually. I see some people that go in with the big heads from the beginning. As your braids get old, it becomes even more hair that slipped out don't want to take some more of the new rubber rapid shine foaming lotion, and this is what is really going to tame their friends and lay everything down for us, while our hair dries. I'M about to cope Netflix and chill. I just want to tie mine down and probably take my scarf off once I get to where I'm going. My scalp is definitely clean. Now, it's not anything else that matters most to me to kind of perfect everything, I'm going to go ahead and also take some with free spray. Art in here looking pay attention to where my hair is. If y'all have a little curly piece right, there that'll help to lay that down. Look at that clean, scab danger where, where, where I said away well, the nether, we got all of that in there girl now you're gon na, take your hair scarf and tie everything down and I'm gon na go ahead and sit under my hoodie dryer. I don't using this one more so than the handheld one, because it's quicker, so if you have one like this, definitely sit under it. I have the link in the description box down below if y'all are interested in mine. It'S my lately as well as all of the products that I use they'll, be it might description box down below. I'M just gon na sit over there for about 10 minutes to lock everything in. I really don't want to let the heat out but I'll quickly, remove this just to show you all that it wanted way to put it right back on, so that I can you down. Oh good is no, it may be a flake or two that I can get out cuz. Clearly we couldn't bring. Obviously this looks so much better. Yes, and now the freeze is going. They like with me, Lena being close on the chemistry, makes it look light in this area and hopefully I'll come back and conclude the video tonight once I get back home, but I guess that concluded yeah, let's go ahead and conclude the video. Now I change my mind: there's no telling how my day may go, I'm including right now, which is basically going to proceed with my day. Let my hair finish drip drying, just as if I just got out of pool or whatever and kind of wrapped it with like a pillowcase and it servi twist it to get everything up at least a way. It doesn't really trip on your clothes. You also have the option to put it in a bun or something while you wait, keep in mind that you kind of bundle that all the hair up while it drips so get a dry quicker. If you just let it hang down and do its thing. But why are you getting dressed or something you can make it pin it up? This is definitely going to help me to prolong not having to take my braids down after a week a week. We want to get a lot more wear out of this because having a protective hairstyle also, it makes me kind of lazy. I literally get up wash my face brush my teeth. If I want to do makeup, I can - and I just basically start my day, because I don't have to do with my hair - it's a low maintenance. This work really no work at all, except laying your edges type of hairstyle. As far as the products go since we kind of washed everything out. You definitely want to go back in with something, even though we do use conditioner, you don't really want to just leave your hair like out. There apply a few products if you were like, or if you know what your hair kind of needs. I know that I wouldn't want to take my braids down and they don't have any product in them. Also watching the hair did help my ends. I'Ll show you all of them in the back. It helps to really pull them down the more you have your braids. They kind of start to shrivel up a little bit if y'all were crazy. I know what I mean. Well, honestly, could you watch this video? Just let me say dumb things right. Okay, now I'm gon na go cuz. I haven't even eaten anything questions. The comments viciously bout that down below click over here to watch the actual footage of me doing my own six feet, embrace something else we'll be right here if you've already seen both of those shout out to you, but definitely go and check out and find another Video on my channel to watch click up here at my cute little face, who I could be like a news reporter or something to subscribe to my youtube channel and as always, I thank you all so much for watching. K Richardson: See most YouTubers don’t show the struggles of recording in the . Thanks for keeping it real girl that’s why I love your channel. I haven’t washed braids in forever either so this is a good reminder since I’m braiding my hair right now.

The dermatologist gave me this soothing lotion and I don't have flare ups at all now. I just use dandruff shampoo whenever I see a little dandruff (maybe three times a year). Did you ever try the Monistat that you were going to put in your hair? How did it work if you did?

Let's GetFit4You: Hey Allofdestiny since you wear your hair hair as a natural, have you ever tried using natural products on your scalp? Just asking. I do not have dandruff but very dry scalp. I use Aloe Vera juice and vit E for my scalp, and drink the juice. BTW great vid! Keep going.

Sonja Green: I don’t wear braids and never have(no one would ever do them cause I’m “tender-headed”) but I don’t know what you mean. I learn a lot from your channel about different things I don’t do. I enjoy your content. I’m a loyal no braids, no make-up wearing subscriber.

Lauren Caldwell: You are so smart && so resourceful! I love ALL your videos! Keep em coming Destiny

bessiemc: Have you ever used bentonite clay to detox your scalp or more natural shampoos and conditioners? They’ve helped me with my scalp issues and I don’t have bad dandruff anymore

Beauty by Danii: I have the same dandruff problem , and it is soooooo annoying. However, I started applying hair grease (Carol's daughter mimosa hair honey or BB super gro) every 2-3 days, that has helped me TREMENDOUSLY. I don't have any dandruff when it's time to wash my hair ( I wash my hair every 2 weeks). Maybe u could try that.

TheSparkleInMyHustle: Love your hair videos! Could you do a video on tips/products/routines for getting healthy hair after having damage??

jeffrey griffin: Excellent video as always Destiny! There's a video I want you to check out. It's called help with dandruff on the Deeper Than Hair TV Channel her name is Kee and she is an awesome stylist. She has a new shampoo and conditioner that she has created so you can check her out and see what you think.

Unknown2Yoo: Don't listen to Youtube, always use what works for your hair. They don't know your head like you do. ~_^ Also, I hear a rule of thumb is 1 hour on your hair is equal to 1 week, so since you spent 5 hours on yours, I think you can try a get away with doing 5 weeks with it in or just your standard month--you got 3 weeks it seems, so that's great! Also, I don't wear braids. I just like seeing people do stuff like this. It fascinates me. XD So your comment was relevant.

LadyBre 30: That's all I use is Head and Shoulders!! I definitely have a dandruff issue and head and shoulders does the trick every time. Haven't used the conditioner yet though. Sulfer 8 I may try.

Stephanie Masi: What I use: -Nizoral shampoo -The whole LivSo line -shampoo brush -oil But I will be trying out the head and shoulders line

MsKamajah: I use Nizoral shampoo because I have the same scalp problems you do and I highly recommend. Nothing helps but that

Asha Burrell: What I do with my braids is that I put a little of shampoo in a water bottle with water and spray just my roots, rub my scalp with the pad of my fingers, then rinse the shampoo out in the shower. Cause I get a little dandruff too. Idk how people get braids and not wash their hair

Carter's mom: This shampoo called t plus at family dollar takes my dandruff away when I have in a protective style. It's brown and it stinks but it works. I only use it when I have in braids or twists

Altonneishia Evans: It looks like psoriasis.... I have it as well and it’s bad on my scalp every time I get my hair braided it starts flaking up after a week or so... so my advice for someone that has also been dealing with it since I was young. Is i try to wipe my scalp out with a wet rag almost everyday and I have some oils that I put on my scalp everyday peppermint oil is my favorite because it soothes my scalp but that helps me when I have braids and help them last a little longer than before.. I can now go about 2-3 weeks without having to wash it as long as I keep it oiled but those are my tips lol hope you figure out what’s going on with your scalp.... ps. Psoriasis does spread to the rest of your body that’s something else I’m suffering with as well but have gotten it under control now that I’m older than I was when I first found out I had it lol....

Officer Fancy: Can I let mines air dry? I mean I want to wash my braids before work and I don't have time for a dryer. Thank you for doing this by the way ❤️

Simply Alelia: Try going to the dermatologist and see if you have a dermatitis or something. I have a dermatitis and they gave me medicated shampoo and oil and it definitely helps me a lot to control my dandruff and itchy scalp!

OH_KAY •••: Have you tried sulfur8? I get drandruff a few days after watching. That stuff works great if you apply it early/often enough. I can wear bod braids for a month without looking crazy. They also have a shampoo.

A Mathis: I love all of your videos!! Such an inspiration. I'm an Aries.

Jersey Hyuga: I have girls so thank you this is dope plus i have braids you're extremely cute could watch allday

Shanel Miller: I’m not with the whole washing my braids/twist. I just take a toothbrush, shampoo and cantu’s acv rinse. I let it sit on my scalp for a few minutes then use a baby wipe to wipe it off. I’ma ♍️ but one of my closest friends is a ♋️

Laura Paid: You should try a product called the "Deseed" for your dandruff I've normally purchased it at the private island hair salons that sell it

Octavia: Thank you for this video very helpful & funny

Joy and Peaceful Laughter: Washing your braids didn't remove dandruff. Just moisturize your hair daily with none sulfur based hair creams or mix the hair cream with coconut and castor oil. Moisturizing morning and night prevent the white flakes from forming. Then you can wash the hair during the weekend to remove the excess oil build-up.

aleialaw: When you rinse your conditioner out lean forward so the conditioner doesn't get on your body.

brittany walker: Try using keracare shampoo for the flakes . It helped me with my dandruff

ash tapedsocks: Have you ever tried a vinegar rinse? I use to have really bad dandrift and itching, than I doing vinegar rinses and it was amazing to the point I make my own shampoo now with vinegar.

Rodney Crockran: I'm growing my hair out for braids so yeah this definitely helps, and BTW your cute

Nicole Ryan: Try Trader Joe’s peppermint shampoo and an application bottle. Saves time and energy. Even a toothbrush and shampoo or apple cider vinegar. Works wonders for me.

Janet Keys: I learned a lot from this video .. and I admire that you have a little humor side to you!! Which makes it fun to watch! Thank you for sharing!

christina henry: much needed cause my hair getting kinda crusty . i was sent when she screamed “i’m rECoRdInG”

Daisy Jernigan: Have you tried apple cider vigor? It will help with the flakes. Put some in a stray botlle

Daisy Jernigan: Have you tried apple cider vigor? It will help with the flakes. Put some in a stray botlle

no name: Avoid putting conditioner on your scalp that's how you get dandruff and hair loss

AlwayzZay: Have you thought that maybe sulfur 8 might be drying your scout too. Try doo gro anti itch oil. And deep conditioning 30 day challenge. Your scout will be so different

Crystal Light: Destiny try apple cider vinegar rinses after you shampoo with a clarifying shampoo, since you’re basically natural now, and add ginger essential oils to your shampoo and conditioners......it’s helped me so much with dandruff, also hot oil treatment pre poos has helped my scalp from flaking. And I also heard that if we have an overload of yeast in our system, called candida- there are natural supplements and vitamins over the counter that can combat that...I heard that is a cause of dandruff too

Shavonda Tucker: Bruh I swear I left braids in 6 weeks just rinsing and washed with shampoo once. I used a spray bottle and new toothbrush that worked a miracle.. I had a du-rag to keep my hair flat

Fushicho Kurayami: IDK What You Have But I Have Eczema On My Scalp And Thats How It Looks When I Use Too Much Shampoo. I Dont Use Shampoo On My Hair Till I Am Taking My Braids/Rows Out. I Just Use A Rat Tail Comb And Really Scratch My Scalp Good And Gentle To Just Get The Dead Stuff Loose And Up, Then I Just Use My Hose And Rinse It All Away With The Pressure Of The Water And Make Sure To Let It Bubble Under By Rows Good To Push As Much Out As Possible. It Takes TIME....But It Feels WONDERFUL So I Dont Mind. X'D I Also Use The Rat Tail To Tuck Any Of My Hair Back In And Smooth It Down Nice And Pretty When Im Done. I Use A Whole Other Set Of Products Aside From The Shine Jam. Mostly I Use Lusters Pink Products....Specifically The Lotion, Grow Cream And Shine Spray....Been Using Them Since I Was A Kid And My Scalp Loves Them So Never Gonna Stop. I Also Use Argon Oil Spray Mixed With Jamacian Castor And Mango Oil When I Use Heat On My Hair. For One It Smells SO Good To Me And People Always Be Like I Smell Good Enough To Eat. And Also For Me Personally It Just Keeps My Hair Healthy And Strong From The Heat. Other Hair Might Work Better With Other Things. I Have Mixed Hair With Different Textures From Front To Back And In The Middle Where I Had A Concussion So I Have To Moisturize My Hair When Its Out In Specific Sections With Specific Product To Cater To That Areas Texture. Its EXTRA Work For Sure BUT Its Worth It When People Are Like "D*MN BABY YOUR HAIR IS GLOWING!!!!" Obviously I Enjoy Sharing My Secrets Though Cause I Love Beautiful Hair On Anyone Especially Locks, Braids And Cornrows. Went To Hair School For Natural Hair Care And Such So I Definitely Love Offering Whatever Experiences I Have To Help Others. If You Have Alot Of Dandruff On Your Scalp DEFINITELY See A Dermatologist Because It Could Be Eczema And Its Really Relatively Easy To Treat. You Just Gotta Figure Out What Sets It Off And Remove That....For Me It Was The Shampoo Stripping My Natural Scalp Oils Too Much Which Irritates It Badly And Sets Off The Chain Reaction. Hence Not Using It When I Have Braids/Rows. And Then You Find What Your Hair Loves. Once You Do That....BOOM....Thats Your Own Unique Hair Care Secret. And Everyone Has One So Definitely Try Different Things Individually And See How Your Hair Reacts To Each Thing. Stuff You See It Doesnt Like....Never Buy Again. Then You Can Mix And Match What It Does Like Till You Find Your Specifics. Anyway Hope That Helped Someone Out A Little Bit!!!! This Video Was Super Funny To Watch And Imma Definitely Send It To My Friend Whos Thinking Of Growing His Hair Out And Getting Cornrows.

Alexis Tanille: Speaking from experience dandruff shampoo makes it worse. Please try this product called kitikiti. It’s like sulfur but betterrr
