Hello, everyone welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is sierra aka fashion, blue frugal and welcome back to another video, so in today's video i'll be showing you guys how i install tape ins at home on my natural type, 4 hair. So if you guys are interested in seeing, then please keep watching first things. First, we have to detangle and blow dry our hair and a method that i like to use. Is i like to go in with sections it just makes it a lot easier because we all know the type for girly days we'd be struggling sometimes, so, if you guys want a more in-depth wash routine, i will go ahead and link an eye. Above to my lifestyle channel, where you guys can catch all my routines, so if you're interested make sure you subscribe and watch that video, but as you guys can see, i'm continuing the blow drying process, it's so important to have a good, wash and blow dry routine. When it comes to these tape and installs and as you guys can see like i said, i'm struggling baby, it's not easy. Okay, but, as i said it's super important because we have to get our hair as straight as possible. So you guys will see me detangling. My hair and blow drying it out because this step is super important. You guys now that our blow dryer routine is done. We have to go in and soak press our hair again. This step is just as equally important because this is basically the base and the foundation of where the tapes are going to go. So you want to get your hair as silky as possible and, as you guys can see, i'm also using the section method and i'm just going in section by section and making sure i get my hair as straight as possible. Now we are on step three, which is our actual tape in application, as you guys can see, i'm sectioning off hair and this hair is going to basically hide our tape ends when we put our hair in a ponytail. Here are the tape ins that we will be using in today's application. Thank you so much to neowigs for partnering with me for today's video. They sent me over yaki straight tape, ins and you guys this blends in with my type 4 hair perfectly now we're getting into the actual tape and application, and i want to start off by letting you guys know. I actually have no experience when it comes to tape. Ins now leave it to social media university. I'M a typing expert because i've been seeing so many people get tape, ins and shout out to all the stylists who have shared their knowledge and gave an insight on how to do it. So i have a little bit of knowledge when it comes to them. However, it's all about the technique and that's what i learned with applying tape ins myself at home. With that being said, what you guys see me doing now is the right idea, just the wrong technique. The proper technique of tape ins is to place the tape in down and then flip the hair over and whatever hair is attached to that tape. In that's the hair that you use and create a sandwich with you do not force a sandwich. You do not force a large section of hair into the sandwich, so basically you guys, i had the right idea just the wrong technique. All i needed to do was take much less hair and that would have created the perfect sandwich. But one thing i love about tape ins is that you're able to correct your mistakes, which you guys will see me do later on here, is where i figured out the perfect technique. I place the tape in down and then i flip them up and then i create the perfect sandwich. Do you guys see how little hair is in that sandwich? That'S exactly how you're supposed to do your tape. Ins, you guys, as i mentioned earlier, you are able to go back and correct your mistakes and, as you guys can see, i'm going back and i'm fixing the sandwich. That'S not really a sandwich. Basically, the first couple rows, as i mentioned, i kind of did them a little too thick, so the tape ins actually did not stick together, so i'm going in and i'm adding tape ins to go ahead and close in that sandwich. Now that i got the proper technique down, you guys will see i'm actually moving through them pretty quickly. I did have to stand up just to make sure i'm getting the placement done, because we are in the front - and you guys do not want your tape. Ins to show in the front, especially if you plan on wearing your hair in a ponytail, so it's important to make sure you're doing your checks to make sure that you can't see any tape ends it's supposed to be a seamless application. So you guys will see me going in and making sure that my tapings look seamless, i'm also standing in front of a mirror. You guys to make sure that the placement is done correctly, because i will be wearing my hair in a ponytail. So it was super important to get a flawless seamless application and the ponytail is giving this. Now we are on the final and favorite step of mine, i'm styling the hair, so you guys the tapings are installed, they're, looking great and i'm taking my baby list or baby bliss. You guys, i always struggle with the pronunciation of that company, but i'm taking my curling iron and i'm giving myself curls and burning myself as you guys can see. I always do that, so i'm curling my hair, you guys i wanted to go for that, like big sexy, effortless curl. So that's what i'm giving. I, of course, will have all the products and tools that i use linked down in the description box, and it's also linked in my amazon storefront, so make sure you guys check that out. If you guys also want this type of look, this is my favorite look, especially when i have longer hair because it just gives the girls grown and sexy. So i'm going in and i'm styling my hair like that and, like i said everything will be linked in the description box. So everyone as you guys, can see. We have the tape ins installed and styled, if i just say so, myself she's looking gorgeous okay she's. Looking great i've only had these tape ins installed for about 24 hours. At this point and the verdict is, i love that i absolutely love the tape ins. You guys. I definitely see why the girls love their tape ends. The hairstyle is definitely light and airy effortless, and it gives you the versatility of wearing your natural hair out, but having just extra length and added thickness as well aside from my type 4 natural hair blending in with this yaki straight texture perfectly one thing i want To touch on is the actual technique of me doing my hair. So now, let's get into the nitty-gritty when it comes to actually applying these tapes at home. For my natural type 4 girls, it's really important to understand our hair type and a good good technique, because the style wasn't extremely difficult, but it also isn't extremely easy. In my opinion, it's that style, where you just need to know the knowledge and the technique behind it, and you can body the style at home 100, especially if you already have a bit of hair experience me being natural and having type 4 hair. It was difficult at first to actually understand the overall technique of tape ins. This was my first time doing tape ins period, i've never done tapings on myself and i've never done them on my clients either. Of course, i watched a few youtube videos, but i honestly don't think that you'll get the actual technique down until you try them yourself, whether that be on someone or you do it on yourself. So since i did it on myself, i now understand that you have to take very thin sections, you guys. So that's one thing: i want my 4c thick haired girls to understand and know so with going in with these sections. We have to go in with the tiniest amount of hair, so it can actually adhere to the tape and we can sandwich the hair properly. That'S one thing i didn't do properly at first and the back when i started the tape earlier, you guys saw that i had to go back and correct my mistakes. So that's the only con. I guess i can say if you're doing this yourself. That is something that you have to look out, for i heard people say that in their videos, but, like i said i feel like you, won't really understand until you're doing them yourself. One thing i also realize is that you're going to need a lot of tapes. When you have a lot of hair, i have a lot of hair. I literally used majority of my tapes. These are all the tapes that i have left you guys and it's not even a bundle. So basically, i used all three bundles of tapes. I don't even know if it's considered three bundles, because each bundle came with two thick packs and one i guess, bundle moving away from technique. I want to actually get into the actual longevity and maintenance on natural type birthday care. I don't think for a natural type. 4 girls: this style has a genuine form of longevity unless you're, okay with heat damage, and the only reason why i say that is, although i got yaki texture, i literally wrapped my hair up last night and i woke up my natural hair - was literally poofy. Okay and, of course getting in the shower that didn't help sis, so i did have to go in and put heat on my hair again and curl it and straighten it. Although it looks good now y'all if i were to go outside walking talking go out to dinner, lord knows how my natural hair would look compared to the tapes and my hair is natural, i'm not heat trained or anything like that. I typically keep my hair in protective styles. This style doesn't really provide me longevity because i, like keeping my hair put up. My hair is already at a good length in my opinion, but i am focused on growing it out even more so. This hairstyle isn't conducive to me for hair growth and overall, as a type 4 girl. I like to have my hair protective styles and just not touch it you're, going to have to touch your hair with this. That goes into the other point of maintenance. To me, this style requires a lot of maintenance, you're going to have to put product and heat on your hair you're going to have to do some form of styling. This definitely isn't a get up and go type of hairstyle for us type: 4 girls, especially when you have thick hair, because the whole idea of tapes is supposed to give you a cohesive blend like girl, i'm giving scissor. This is my hair. This is my hair. Like this is my hair, i don't care, that's the whole point of tapes. It gives you that, like natural cohesive, this is my hair blend. There'S some upkeep to that. You know, and i have yaki texture in like i mentioned, and although it still gives it a natural blend, maybe you still have to do the work. I don't care if you want to roll or set it if you want to do flexi rods, since you're gon na have to do something like you're gon na have to do something, and i noticed that within 24 hours like i couldn't even go to sleep and Wake up without my hair still leaving something very much something done to it like i said this is just my opinion. You guys. I don't think that there is any true form of longevity with this style, i think for me i could only keep tapes in my head for like a month. That'S it to me, you guys. I don't consider this a protective style at all. This style has a lot of maintenance. It'S not protected. My hair is not put up, my hair is out, and i'm going to have to do something to it, especially being natural and having type 4 hair. I'M going to have to put heat to my hair or do something very much something to it. So the maintenance to me is high and the longevity of this actual style on type 4 thick hair is low. However, it is doable, it's doable and it's manageable. It just all depends on you and if you care about heat damage, are you nervous about heat damage? It all depends on you, and i know the natural hair community can be very toxic. If you like, your hair straightened, then curl baby, the europeans got you and you hate black people. You hate your life, you hate your hair. Well, since the europeans got me okay, because i love how my hair looks when it's straight. I love how my hair looks when it's curled. I love this look right now, so all in all, you guys, i rate these tape ins a solid 8 out of 10.. I love the flexibility. I love the versatility. I love how natural they look. I love the ability to put my hair in a ponytail side part, but me just being me, you guys actually love wigs and the only thing about tape. Ins is that you have to go based on your natural hair. So since i have kind of mid-length hair, i can't get a bob unless i'm willing to cut my natural hair. So i think wigs can be a bit more versatile. You can try burgundy, i can try ginger. I can try red. I can try blue with wigs. It'S just more fun and out there and with tapes it is more of a natural look which is still fun. Don'T get me wrong. It just depends on your lifestyle and the type of girl that you are so like i said for me, i give it a b. This is something i can definitely keep in for like a month. I can definitely get this style for vacation or my birthday, or something like that where i want to keep it classy and look good, basically just keep a natural look like that's what tape ins to me is it's a way to have extensions and have versatility with Extensions in a natural way, so, overall you guys, i definitely am a tapens fan. I actually cannot wait to do tape ins again on myself and just do a better job with the techniques and the things that i've learned and just take everything that i learned with doing these tape ins and applying it to the next time that i do them. On myself, i of course will record that process when it happens, but, honestly you guys i'm gon na take things fan now. You won't see me wearing them all the time, i'm not a tape, dance girl, but i'mma take this man like they definitely have my vote. I really do like them. Let me know if you guys are willing to try them yourself. Let'S get in the comments down below. Let'S chat, are you willing to risk your curl pattern, or are you not? Are you anti?
