How To Wash Your Halo (Or Clip-In) Hair Extensions

In general, the less you wash your extensions, the better.

Washing will breakdown and dry out the extensions faster and since extensions don't produce oils, you don't need to wash them very often at all, (unless the are dirty or have product build up on them.)

When washing your extensions wash with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. Extensions have a tendency to be dry so I usually substitute conditioner for a hair mask or treatment.

I personally use very little product on my extensions (just some hair oil and heat protectant) to keep them as clean and free from product build-up.

Let'S wash my halo hair extensions together, i've had these extensions for over a year, and this is only the second time that i'm washing them now washing your hair extensions is pretty much the same as washing your natural hair. The only thing is that i like to wash it when it's not attached to my head, so i have this handy little guy that i picked up on amazon to just hold my hair extensions. Not gon na lie. I didn't love using it, so i would definitely recommend using a hanger next time, so you can see. I shampoo my hair extensions and rinse them like normal, and i am using a hydrating shampoo. Next, i'm actually deep conditioning my extensions. You can use regular conditioner, but extensions do have a tendency of being on the dry side. So i like to do a deep conditioning mask i comb it through and then i leave it on for at least 20 minutes. Then i make sure that i rinse that mask off really well and then i towel dry the hair and get as much of the water out of the hair, as i possibly can now. Like i mentioned earlier, hair extensions do have a tendency of being dry, so i always use a hair oil on my extensions. This is pretty much the only product that goes into my hair extensions. Once all the shampoo and conditioner is rinsed out, once i get that hair oil evenly distributed, i go ahead and take a wet brush. This is my daughter's lol wet brush and i go ahead and comb through and i let it air dry. These are my extensions. After they air dried and then after they've been styled, if you're curious about our extensions check, the link in our bio
