( upbeat music, ), Hey everyone, Kayley here., So a few videos ago, I reviewed the Kristin Ess line and you guys were really interested to hear me. Compare this spray, which is her dry, finish working texture spray, which retails for 14 dollars to a much more expensive, product. The more expensive product is the Oribe dry texturing spray. This one's 14 dollars this one's 45 dollars.. I think they might be a little bit similar.. I'Ve been putting them to the test., So I'm gon na show you guys what I think and whether you could actually buy just the 14 dollar one instead of the 45 dollar one., Let's get started., Let's start with talking about the Oribe dry texturizing spray.. This has been around for years and it has been a hairstylist favorite for years., So I wan na set the scene for you guys.. I wan na explain why this product is so key for so many hairstylists.. A lot of texturizing sprays on the market are all about tons of like powdery texturedness on your hair.. So when you put it in your hair's gon na feel gritty., It's either gon na feel like waxy or sandy, maybe even a little salty.. You know. Sometimes, that's not the most fun thing to have, because it can tangle your hair, which we don't want. It can cause a lot more extra volume than you're going for, and sometimes it's really mattifying on the hair.. So texturizing spray, it's good, because it gives you that extra texture and volume, but you were getting all those negatives., Then we had Oribe which doesn't do those negatives.. It still gives you volume and fullness, which is what you're looking for in a dry texturizing spray. You want a little bit of extra oomph.. You want a little bit of extra lift., But it does that without giving you a gritty finish on your hair or without overly mattifying it., And that is why people love it so so much.. Now, when you look at it, it's got this amazing beautiful packaging.. It normally comes with this great ornate lid, which I managed to lose. Sorry about it., And you can buy this in salons or at more like luxury retailers., Again, 45 dollars.. I do think it's very innovative within the texturizing spray market, and so as far as that goes, I do think that it's worth it at the price, but it's definitely a splurge.. So that's the Oribe spray.. Let'S talk about the Kristin Ess dry, finish working, texture, spray.! Now again, this is going into the whole texturizing hair market., So you use it for volume and texture., And this one retails at 14 dollars and the great thing that I love about it is that it ticks a lot of the same boxes that the Oribe spray Does. You're not gon na get a lot of grit on your hands or on your hair. It'S not gon na feel super crunchy. It'S not gon na, add tangles, but it does give you that nice fluffy textured look. This one again retails for 14 dollars.. It has this great sleek, minimal packaging, which I think looks really great for that price point. And it also has a pretty lid and I didn't lose this one, so you guys can see it's got a nice little detail on it., So that is the Kristin Ess. Spray., So actually, right now, I am wearing Oribe on this side of my head and I have the Kristin Ess spray on this side of my head.. The only other thing that I have is a little bit of pomade in my hair., So you can really see the difference and I think there's very little, but I'm gon na talk you through the little ones that I have noticed.. So on this side I have the Oribe spray, and one thing that I noticed when I touch my hair is that it feels like there's hairspray in it., Not necessarily like crispy crunchy problematicness, but you can definitely it feels, like you put some hairspray in there. And It'S a little bit more difficult to run. My fingers through, like you, saw me, catch a little like snarl right, there., It's not tangly by any means.. When I say tangly, I mean like your hair is matting up at the nape of your neck.. That'S not happening, but it's a little bit more difficult to run my fingers through.. What I do like about it is that I think it adds a little bit more definition.. You can see, I think, a little bit more pieceiness in the curls more easily and there's a nice amount of subtle shine.. So my hair is texturized, but it's still looking healthy. Switching over to the Kristin Ess side. Texture-Wise. I love this stuff.. It feels like cushiony soft, like almost cashmere-ish on the hair., So I can easily run my fingers through this.. It'S very, very touchable.. I would say it's almost a little bit more airy than the Oribe one.. I feel like there's a little bit more fluff to it.. There'S a little bit more movement and dance, but maybe a tiny bit less definition., Not a huge difference. Though'Cause, I feel totally normal wearing one on one side and one on the other.. It'S not like. I have blue eyeshadow and pink eyeshadow or something.. It'S pretty similar.. I think the biggest difference is that the Kristin Ess one is a tiny bit more just fluffy less defined, maybe a little bit less shine but way more touchable.. So when it comes to picking a winner, ... They're really similar, that's the hard thing for me is that when I look in the mirror, I'm nitpicking like I am getting down to like little little bits and pieces., And so it's like eh eh. It'S almost a toss up, except this one costs three times more.. So if you guys don't have either one and maybe you're looking into texturizing spray or you haven't found one that you love., I've got ta say: go with the Kristin Ess one'cause, it's 14 dollars like that's such a good deal., And this will last you forever. You. Don'T have to use a lot.. Actually I discourage you from using a lot., My texturizing spray cans, usually last me for about a year., So 14 dollars for a year of awesomely texturized lifted hair. Definitely a good deal.. Now, if you're a hair stylist - and you really really can tell the difference and like that little bit of definition and texture really like matters to you. - This is still a great option.. I still love this stuff.. It'S just a lot more expensive and you're, paying a lot more for that. Little tiny bit of difference. Totally up to you., I'm still gon na keep using this.. I actually just bought a new can of this, but for my recommendation for the majority of you: you're not gon na notice, a difference, and I would totally recommend the Kristin Ess texturizing spray, because it's amazing. And that's it for today's video.. I hope that you guys enjoyed it.. I hope you guys try out these products and let me know what you think., If you wan na see more videos like this. Let me know in the comments'cause I would totally love to do them., So that's it. I will see you guys on Saturday with my next hair tutorial so be sure to come back. Then. Muah, bye,

Breanna G: I love the style of this video. Always impressed with how graceful and feminine you manage to be without seeming fake at all.

Ellen: Oribe is freaking amazing. Even the smell...I'd wear the scent all over if I had to. I've not found anything remotely close to the quality though. Maybe I'll try this.

Ashley King: please do the best/worst drugstore dry shampoos and texturizing sprays!

kromatic: I am digging this background! I've been looking for a texturizing spray that doesn't make my hair feel "crunchy". I'll have to check out the Kristin Ess spray. Thanks, Kayley!

Madeline Rodriguez: I loved everything in this video, Kayley! The background and the feel in general, it was so professional but relax at the same time. Keep up the good work!

xattix: This is a great idea! Maybe more in this series comparing blow dryers, curling wands, etc.?

Michelle Yu: I wish I didn’t prefer the Oribe side. The product is sooo good. Just wish it wasn’t so expensive. Thanks for the comparison video!

Melissa Lee: I am so glad you made this video and talked about the negatives of other texturizing sprays. For so long now I've been buying bargain brand texturizers wondering why everyone was singing the praise of a texturizer. I have always found them to make my hair gritty, crunchy, matte and gross to touch. But with extremely thin and fine hair I definitely need one. I just didn't know their were any on the market that did not make the hair feel gross. I'm going out to Target to buy this one tomorrow Thanks!

Audom Hathaway: Just found the Kristin Ess spray at target! I cannot wait to try it! I also picked up the texture powder too!

Rebecca Graham: This video was awesome! Of all of the beauty guru Youtubers, I really trust your opinion! I really struggle with hair products and would love to see more of these types of videos! Thanks!!

Rocio Lira: Yes I was thinking the Kristen Ess one also! Lol I have been looking into texturizing sprays especially by the brand by Not Your Mother's. I heard it's good but there are some critics that say otherwise so I'm curious and open to hear some opinions as well

Wailime: LOVE the Orbie spray! Obsessed with the scent! Wish it was available in Canada though :(

Missy Wolf: I just tried the KE shampoo and conditioner, and I'm in love with her line now. I was ecstatic to see this video, I was genuinely curious to how it compares to salon products. this leads me to think a good chunk if not the whole line would be similar. more videos like this please!

Erica Whitaker: Would love to see more head to head reviews of products at different price points!!

Alvaro Valdovinos: I agree with the Orbie. The result at the end with the waxy, powdery feeling....nothing worse to have a finishing product that makes you feel dirty at the end. Orbie never gave me that feeling.

cartograp: Perfect timing! I've been looking for a texturizing spray and I didn't even know where to start. Thank you!

Giada Bigonzi: Keep comparing! This kind of videos are so much useful! Thank you!

Diana RR: Just wanted to say you are my favorite hair youtuber!! I have been following you ever since the beginning and you have taught me so much! Braids braids braids! :) hahaha :) So happy about how far you've come!

wasdwasd24: Big difference between the two sides! Love Oribe! Plus the ingredients in it are not in any other product.

Karen Carrington: Thank you for this video! My can of Oribe is about to run out and I do not really want to spend $45 on another can, but I love this stuff! I will be trying the Kristin Ess. :)

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: Love your videos. Please do more comparisons with Kristin ESS products. I'd love to see you do the soft shine beach wave spray and the pomade against high end.

Laura Baca: Can you do more drugstore hair product reviews? LOVED THIS VIDEO TOO!

bonjour.kaitlyn: Thank you so much for this video! I didn’t know that Kristen Ess made one of these - I’m definitely going to get some!

Beatriz DEL YELMO DE HARO: This is an outstanding review! Very good comparison.

Abby Saph: The drugstore curling wand and the highend curling wand.

Melissa M: Super helpful video! The only other attribute I'm wondering about is the smell of the products (how strong, good/bad). Thank you!

Haley Martin: Love it!! I love product recommendations!!!

Cinderfire: Love cheaper solutions!

Lexadoodle: I really liked this style of video! it was a nice change

Milla Virolainen: The background looks so beautiful!! Amazing vid, I'm always happy to see you've uploaded

Ashley Powell: Kayley, I absolutely love your videos. You look gorgeous. Hope you're having a great day!

Abby Groscop: I love this video! It's super helpful and I would love to see more like this! I also love your shirt! Would you ever consider doing a fashion video? You have such a great sense of style!

Rebecca LaFon: Loved the editing here and the way this video was shot! Great job Kayley! Where is the Kristin Ess available?

Audom Hathaway: I'd love to see if you can find a comparable product to the bumble and bumble air spun spray!

Rachel Joy P: Would love a comparison video for curling and straightening irons! P.S. the styling of this video is gooorgeous!

Alyssa Jorgensen: With these kind of products, how long do they last on the hair? Does the volume and texture kind of wear off within a couple of hours?

Peach Tea: i've been looking for a good cheaper alternative to oribe. i love it but not the price!

J. Nicole Baker: I have super straight, fine hair (never colored) but a lot of it. It's also really long so keeping it healthy is important because damaged-looking long hair - . Right? I would love to see a review on products like Redken's Anti-snap or other similar products that are intended to strengthen your hair. Thanks for your great videos! You're the only one who has ever been able to teach me with any success.

Maureen Bouey: I just wanted to find out about texturising sprays and was getting frustrated with all the extraneous talking. Really appreciate the way you got down to business and were so thorough. Kristin Ess FTW......thank you :) xo

harrisonpamela40: I'm going to look for this at my Target this weekend!!!

Emily Di Trani: I am in love with the couch and pillows in the background! Also I love every single one of your videos so much! <3

Jeanie Anderson Carpenter: I always wish you would share your makeup selections with us. I love your eye shadows in particular.

Ruth Salinas: What is the difference between texturizing spray and dry shampoo? Also how do Oaui texturizing products compare to these two you reviewed in this video?

Taylor Jones: I couldn't stand the way the Kristen Ess one. I wasn't a huge fan of it either. I love my Not Your Mothers texture spray. I like the grit it gives my hair bc my hair is fine and slippery so I'm okay with it.

Emily Rad: does the Kristen ess give you enough texture for creating updos or does it remain too soft?

Amanda L: Yes, please do more videos like this! :)

Hannah Grace: Wow so early! Kayley I just wanted to tell you how beautiful you are and how much your videos have helped me get through rough nights. Your ever present joyful attitude is a joy to watch and I have been a follower of yours for years! Stay beautiful! ily!❤️❤️❤️

Ciara Mathern: I have a friend that has really fine thin air and she puts her hair in a bun all the time. she uses moose in her hair to get volume but from what I've been told is that it's bad for your hair. would this be good for this or is there something better?

Larrah Slender: i really like these review videos!! Would love to see more :)

Page Mastrogiovanni: I like the Oribe one best...even with your hair the Oribe side had more cave room. I am trying to catch the Oribe on sale.

Kayley Melissa: My first bonus video in SO LONG! I hope you enjoyed it. What other bonus videos would you like to see?

Exaudi Beatrice: hi kayley! you have a lot of great hair tutorial from braids to bun to anything that impossible to possible. So i want to ask you, i have a natural black, very black asian hair that is medium and wavy but straight at the same time (weird ikr?) Can you make a hair tutorial on black hair because it doesn't show up quite nicely as a lighter hair does? And maybe you could give some trick here and there so like braids or little bit some pieces can show up more in the black hair. Thank you so much and keep making videos because, I LOVE THEM ❤❤❤

Weirdo: I have seriously been waiting for this video since you first mentioned it when you reviewed the Kristen Ess products!!

Katie Kingston: When will your new website be up & running? I plan to get my hair highlighted & colored (like your video from September 2015) within the month & would like to view the page where you tell us what to explain to the stylist/colorist. Thanks Kayley! Stay fabulous!

Sugar Magnolia: dry shampoos please! LOVING the new background BTW!

Raquel P: I bought 5he $14 one and it’s great! Thanks!

BeccaLife: Could you compare the beach wave spray to a more expensive one?

marikie marie: No hair product should ever be 45 bucks and can..that's ridiculous no matter how much it cost.

Hanna Hoskins: I'd LOVE to see a video dedicated to affordable styling tools! I'm on a nursing student budget I can't afford fancy tools but I don't wanna completely destroy my hair

angeliquemv: Could you please do a video comparing the Kristen Ess beach wave spray and the Ouai wave spray?

sn12: omg I just got the target one last night randomly shopping because I just finished the orbie one n I just can't I just can't justify that cost well timed video!!

Rachel Wacker: The quality of this video is amazing!

Ivy May: Loving the middle part on you! So feminine and elegant

Julie Brigman: But the Oribe smells amazing!!

tangyzip: Could you do a video/point out a video explaining how to get stubborn, thick hair to hold curls without falling too quickly? For years I've had to avoid curling my hair because it's so heavy the curls or waves don't stay and the hair ends up looking messy (in the bad way).

Carly M: I have the Kristin Ess one and the smell is pretty awful to me

Sass McG: I am very sensitive to smells and get headaches from smells. Which one has the strongest scent? For example I have some Kenra Platinum texture spray and it's way too sugary sweet smelling.

Missi's Miscellaneous Life Diaries: what you think about this? I am going to use the oribe in my curls at the bottom and the kristen ess for the top crown so there is volume and it will be touchable then ill have definition on the bottom for my curls. so its not all weighed down by using the oribe on top and bottom.

Laura Restad: Your hair is goals!!!!

Julia Zubaran: In love with this background!!

All that is: I think kristin ess increased there prices bc i see it on amazon in canada for 40$ now

lily Barr: Great video, very helpful.

Wendy Swift: What about scent? I love the probe smell.

Adriana Torres: How do you put the pomade into your hair and which one do you use?

Dahlia Dahiia: In my country the kristin ess products are more more expansive than on official websites, double and then more money...

KALI Monroe: I use the cheap one and it’s the dupe

Samantha McNamara: OMG she is SO pretty. Love your vids <3

Robyn Dalton: I love your bedroom and it is so beautiful and I think you are so beautiful and I love watching your videos and can I ask what kind of sprays do you recommend for me to try out and I love watching your beautiful videos and I can't wait to see more of them and I love to see more videos like this and also I like to see a makeup tutorial or a makeup review and a get ready with me

Robyn Fitch: Kayley!! Where did you get that shirt?!?! It's so chic!

Niche4Sure: Go out in hot humid weather and then. Tell me if you can or cannot notice a difference between the two texturizing sprays....?

MssBilitroque: I can't afford any of them, so I'm fine Love from Spain

Jimena Romero: i didn't see you in a long time and you're still beautiful and nice as always but WHY DID YOU DYED YOUR HAIR :((( It was so precious with an amazing colour.. I think it's ok right now but your natural colour was amazing

Amanda Vega: Hello. What is a good shampoo and conditioner for newly colored blonde hair with an oily scalp?

shams bearcandy: where do you buy your clear hair elastics

KarLa Rivera: Liked this before watching because I was waiting for this video since your original KE video!!!

jaseesu: I wished your tie breaker wouldve been how long your curls held w each spray

Courtney Jackson: I think the Kristin Ess side looks better

Zumar: This is the first time ever been this early lived the video btw

Dajana Darling: This might sound really weird. I'm only halfway through the video, but I have to look at your hands in this video all the time. They look so feminine and nice in this video :)

n: as stylist. re commend buying high end on eBay

aimee cosse: Which one smells better ?

Cata Dan: God.. She is gorgeous.

MRS. O: what about united texture spray

og jenny: wtf. the whole Point of going to YouTube is to watch videos. youtubers just talk about stuff instead of SHOWING us how to do something.

ccap3211: Where is your shirt from? Is it the same shirt Ingrid has in white and red from Zara?

Theo_kaf_: it's 00.22 am here I'm gona watch the video anyway
