How To Remove Tape In Extensions Without Damage

I have installed tape in extensions on myself & my clients in the salon for 6+ years now, and this is by far the most efficient way I've found to remove them. So quick & easy, NO DAMAGE, and you can buy what you need at any drugstore

Let me know what you guys think & what you want to see next!

Hi friends, so it's been a while, but I figured while we're all in quarantine. I have some extra time on my hands, so I'm teaching you all the things that you might need to know how to do at home by yourself while we're stuck so last week. I did a pictorial on in serum on how to remove gel polish I'll link that below and today I'm teaching you how to take out tape and extension. Let'S get started all right, don't mind my ragged looking hair. I ordered it yesterday and only have two side. Extensions in yep here they are one and two okay. The first thing that you're going to need is 91 % alcohol. This is going to help break the bonds of the glue used to hold your tape and extensions. I like it in this little spray bottle because it's easy to spray on your hair, but you can always get it bottle and transfer it into a travel size spray bottle if you'd like just make sure that you get 91 % and not 70 %. I'Ve made that mistake before and it is not effective. Next you're going to want a hair oil or serum, any type will do, but today I'm using one by Aveda you'll also need a rat tail comb. Please excuse how sticky mine is clearly. I have used this one many times before and finally, you need any type of hair clip, so first you're going to want to find and section out your first extension clip your other hair about the way of all we work on this one. Take your alcohol and spray it all along where the tape is. You want to make sure that it's pretty wet, so the alcohol can get in and break the bonds of the glue. Your tape is going to start coming apart, and you should be able to unstick the two ups of hair if they don't come apart, easily they'll grieve what the suction and try it again stick. The two pieces back together once are out and set them over to the side. Next deal want to come through the section of hair, don't be alarmed if you lose some hairs while you're doing this, it's not breakage you're damaged, it's just simply the hair. So what I naturally shed during the past weeks, you've had your extensions in instead of being able to shut and fall on the floor, come out on your brush or in the shower. They were trapped in the tape of the extension and now they're able to come. Free now, you'll want to use your hair oil or serum on the section where the tape was to help it. The leftover residue first make sure that the bottle is open. I'M sorry after that, you'll come through the section again and we'll move on to the next one. So here's, where you're gon na see that rat tail comb come into play if you're having issues getting your tapes apart, use the end of the comb to help get in there without pulling it too much. But again, if you feel like it's giving too much resistance, then just spray a little bit more alcohol on the glue. It should not hurt or be difficult to get these out. Okay, so I forgot to put the oil on this one, but you'll want to comb through it, make sure that all the product is out and then once you're done, take everything down shake it all out, run your hands through it, your extension free and make sure That you didn't forget any so I hope this video helped you guys, please let me know if you have any questions about anything that I was doing otherwise I'll see you soon. You

DizzyDez09: This was an absolute life saver! The rubbing alcohol took them out of my hair so much easier then the adhesive remover. Absolutely NO tugging or pulling! THANK YOU!

zay zay: This is the BEST removal I've YET seen!! OMG what brand of tape ins did you use?

Nancy K.: I am very happy to have found this! My hair dresser botched my hair, stuck a random extension on the side of my head that is a good 6 inches shorter than my length, didn’t check if she missed any hair after trimming (by the way I HAD a long A line cut that she apparently didn’t (remember?) I had) … she just chopped off the length of the front I wanted longer . Needless to say I let her go. Can’t wait to get the extensions out so I can swim in a pool again!!!

Linda Love: Thank you for this video!❤

AG Crouthamel: Thank you very much for sharing this. I have been referring my clients to this video for clear instructions during this time.

Lisa Yarmesky: You made it look so easy! I am a first time hair extensions person. Had tape ins done at the salon for over $200. Went back seven weeks later to have them re-done and cost $80 plus tip. Was told would be $60, but then was told that was for the first time. Mine REALLY seemed stuck when she took them out. Although she sprayed with some sort of adhesive remover, she still had a difficult time and there was A LOT of pulling. She assured me that she wasnt breaking or damaging my hair, but I don’t know how it couldn’t have. Yours seemed to just slide right out!

ara barrera: I just wanted to say thank you so much this actually helped me because I really wanted to take mine out even though I didn’t have alcohol I did have hand sanitizer and that worked perfectly thank you for the idea

Heather Golden: Hi I just wondered if you could help, can you re install the tapes again the same day without washing if just using the alcohol spray? I know if you use oil you need to wash and dry before re applying but if just using the alcohol could you just re install after re taping without washing? Thanks

[email protected]: Works like magic...! Ty I was in my car looking for places to find remover when I decided to check YouTube and came across your video. I took them out in the car. It melted the glue like butter

A Bolder: This seems so much easier than what I’ve experienced. I had to help remove my girlfriends and the tape leaves so much residue in her hair that you have to pull it off every strand manually. No isopropyl or any chemical we’ve tried helps much. Can’t comb it out either as it just locks the comb instantly and starts breaking her hair (has very fragile hair). She’s left with a ton of glue residue. Must be doin something wrong :(

IamKarianD: You’re such a life saver

Stephanie Rybarczyk: Did this. Definitely use a deep conditioning treatment. Hair was really dry after wards.

Jen F: I just want to know where everyone was finding rubbing alcohol during quarantine

karoline wilson: What exactly kind of alcohol do I use to split the tape? And any serum will work on hair?

Jee2304: Hi are these tape in extensions the best type for fine hair? I have been used to wearing clip ins for many years now so I can remove them on a night time, but I've noticed that we're the extensions clip to my natural hair its causing it to break off and have bald patches. I'm trying to find the best method of extensions so my natural hair can remain healthy and not come out with too much tension x

Beverly García: Thank you so much for teaching how to do this

Veronika: What do you think about using these on rather oily hair that needs to be washed every 2 days? Do you recommend putting these in?
