This video is in collaboration with Sally Beauty.

Hey everyone welcome back to my channel today. I have a highly requested video for you guys all about my tape and hair extensions. I'M really excited to let you guys know that I partnered up with my friends Sally beauty for today's video. As most of you know, I recently cut off all of the last of my bleached hair, and so I've been wearing they're taping since about last April. So I thought, since we're nearing the holiday season, I would show you guys how to do a full glam. Look to go from kind of short, boring, dull, hair to this perfect holiday glam. So let's hop right into the video, so the tapings that I'm going to be using today are by satin strands. These are 20 inches long and they are in the color Minako they're. 100 % remy human hair, meaning you can style them. You can color them all of that good stuff. I actually use three packages to do my entire head now. The way tape and extensions work is you want to create a sandwich, so a sandwich is made up of two actual tape and hair extensions, you're, basically going to be sandwich in a piece of your hair. In between these, you can see that they have adhesive backing and that's what we use to attach them that creates a wet. So I'm starting off by just sectioning the bottom half of my hair, close to the nape of the neck. You want to leave a little bit of space in case you were to wear your hair up or something like that. I actually don't wear my hair up with tape. So it's not that big of a deal for me, then I'm going in with this tool structure. Tail comb this makes applying the hair extensions a breeze, but I also use it to get a perfect line when sectioning off my hair. So once we have the perfect sectioned off hair line, I'm taking a little section of hair, no bigger than what the tape. In extension is, then we're going to go in and take off the adhesive backing now. This is where the tail comb comes into play, so I use it because it makes applying the tape ins a lot easier. You don't have to worry about holding on to it. So just gon na stick it to that bottom little edge. You barely want it stuck on really and then you're gon na. Take that little piece of hair that you have you're gon na put this under it. I leave a little bit of space so that you know it's able to move with your hair and then I'm just going to place that on top of it, I use my pinky finger to press it down and then I'll pull it off of the tail comb. Like such then you're gon na want to go in and take your other sandwich and you're gon na want to place it right on top of it make sure it's lined up perfectly it held. So if you have mirrors, unlike every side of you, because you really need to be able to see that everything is on straight and there we have it there's our wet, then I'm going in with my chi elite flatiron. This thing heats up so quickly leaves my hair really smooth, but we're gon na be using it just to make sure that the tapings are. You know a little bit melted on so that they're stuck together. You just need to do a quick, little tap tap and then we're all good. So that's the first layer done, I'm gon na section off a little bit more and we're gon na do another layer. I only do one at the nape of my neck, so I'm just going ahead and doing the exact same steps that we did before putting the first sandwich under attaching it and then putting the second one on top. This is gon na, be a repetitive throughout the whole video, but that's basically the technique here. So then I do a two west layer here and then I'm gon na let down a little bit more hair and then we're gon na do a three weft layer here. It depends on the size of your head, like you might be able to fit four here already, but I can still really only do three. The next layer, though I actually go ahead and do four wefts. Instead - and I know some people would do two rows of four, but my cowlick is very far downs. So moving to the side, I've just added this one in here. This kind of just fills in that little gap between the side of your head and the back of your head, so I would really suggest doing that there and then I'm gon na go ahead and put one in the side doing the same method. Of course, taking a little piece of hair, putting the sandwich at the bottom and then we're gon na put the sandwich on top, then I just kind of go ahead and apply. I think I feel like for more out the side of my head, and I just stagger them because you see right here, but there's like a little spot there, so we're just gon na stagger them to make sure that everything is really full and really even once. You'Re done one side of your head, you can go ahead and do this again on the other. This is what it looks like once all the tapings are applied now, because my hair is so short and I have such short bangs. I want to shear the bangs to make them look really blended. I'M using these cricket sheer expressions. These are the hey rosy sheers. It'S a super, easy way to point cut your hair to make it look more natural. I use these to basically blend my extensions seamlessly with my hair once the front bangs are blended, I'm going in with my argan oil. This stuff keeps my hair super smooth and really helps tame all of those flyways. I went ahead and did a full face of makeup in between us. So don't be alarmed. This is my holiday glam. Look! So I'm just hanging those flyaways up top and then I'm going in with this beyond the zone. Beachhead tropical texture, so texture sprays are really important to me, because the tape ins seem to be really slippery and they don't hold curl as well. So adding a texture spray helps a lot. Then I'm following that up with the beyond the zone, turn up the heat, and this is just a heat, protectant spray. Honestly, it's the most amazing spray. You will ever find it smells so good. It smells like freezies. Then I'm going ahead and curling my hair, the hair curler I'm using, is no longer available. But if you look at my description box down below there's a link to some other really great picks available online at Sally Beauty, I don't section off my hair because my hair is so short. They don't actually want to curl the top layers, because then it's very easy to see that I have tape and extensions once I've done the curls. I just worked my way forward and I'm using the Sebastian shaper plus hairspray. My hairdresser made me fall in love with this stuff gives me the perfect amount of hold it's like my all-time favorite right now, once you're done one side you can move on to the other, and once everything is dry, I'm going in with my tangle teezer. This is my be-all end-all of brushes. It'S the only brush that I'll ever use for the rest of my life. I seriously love this thing and I'm just brushing out my curls and yeah. This is my final holiday glam. Look, I think that it just like gives you the perfect beautiful hair, especially if you have short hair. It really is such a difference such a dramatic change for the holidays. I think it's so perfect. A lot of people also ask me what I use to remove the tape ins and I found this at Sally's. It'S basically our wax residue remover oil, and this is what I use I put in a little spray bottle, I'll spray, the tapes and yeah. That'S what I used to remove them. Thank you guys so much for watching. I hope that you enjoyed this video. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave them down below, and I will help you as best as I can. Thank you again to my friends at Sally Beauty for partnering with me on this video. It was such a blast to create and I'll see you guys in my next video bye,

SasuArisama: @tashaleelyn Where is that top from!? Almost watched the entire video wishing you will mention it!>.<

Karissa Lacy: FINALLY someone with actual short hair- people post videos and call short hair which is past their shoulders- like no SO anyways, thanks for killing it! <3

SmallSushi Roll: As a hairdresser you've made me proud

Porcelain: I've watched this 3 times already....just waiting to have the money for them!

doomsdaygal: I wish I had the skills to apply them myself you make it look so easy!!!

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Can tape extensions easily cause hairloss even when I have only used it once and gently tore them off my hair instead of extensions remover?

Tessa Sheremeta: Gorgeous look!! I would love to see you wear your short hair as-is and style it real cute, that would be great!

Margo Willaert: Oh, I remember you buying that dress last year! I was so in love with it and I wanted it sooooo bad... I need to find it again :D

Alison Campbell: I'm seriously considering going on the tape-in journey after watching this video sooo many times, your hair is always so gorgeous with them! :) My hair is fine and about the same length as your natural hair, but it's suffered a lot of breakage recently so it just hasn't been looking very nice.. But I still have so many questions about tape-ins! Like, are tape-ins damaging, are they heavy, are they reusable, what's your hair type like, etc! I need you to do a video or even live stream where I can just ask you all these questions before I take the plunge ! :) xx

Rebeca Diaz: I admire your patience girl, I got some tape ins on just the sides of my hair and I was so over it with just one side done. I kinda wanna see with you with a shorter asymmetric bob parted to the side. That would look so pretty on you!!!

Elizabeth Nichin: I know you've been wondering what kind of content to put up on this channel especially with less hair dye videos now, but I was curious if you might do a review/demo on some of the Lime Crime Unicorn Hair for brunettes. They are made for light to medium brown hair but can give tints to darker brunettes and I feel like that is a cool way to bridge the gap for subscribers who love your hair videos too! Plus everyone wants to know how those dyes work on darker hair, so might be something to think about! since they are semi permanent they can't damage your hair <3 I would love to see!

Candice Brittian: Awh you're so fun I love you! Glad to see this passion again babe keep it up

Bethany Balady: WOW your application of the tapes is incredible! I have done it several times and there's always something misplaced or showing. DO MIINE

jordan hampton: Hello! I loved this video!! I do have a question though. I just recently ordered 3 packs of extensions that come in sets of 10 pieces rather than 20 per pack. This may nor have anything to do with it, but i am very short and small, so of course i have a smaller head to match my small body (lol). My hair is short (a bit past shoulder length) and is on the finer side. So I will end up having 15 ‘sandwiches’ rather than the typical 20 that is recommended for fine hair. Do you think I should purchase another pack or just stick with what I have? My stylists thinks the 3 should be enough but I just want more opinions than one

T F: How many tape ins did you use?

hayytaylor: Hey girlie love all your videos ❤️ Just wondering how long does it usually take for you to do the extensions from start to finish?

Abbie Moir: Can you PLEASE do a video on your hair-care routine and how you grew it so quickly/made it healthy?

OnyxFaith aka Chelle: I know the point of this video was the extensions. But I would also have loved to see you do something with your short hair too.

CoolMamaWicks: I was thinking about putting tape-ins in my hair and I was wondering how many I would need. My hair is thin and shoulder length, likes yours. How many packs would I need for the brand you use? (:

John3:16 Blm#iLoveAllRaces: loved this tutorial.. tyvm!!!!!! xoxoxoxo my hair is grown out from shaving my head.. i literally just cut it so its an even all over length maybe 2 inches shorter than yours in this video. so im very thankful your hair was short af lol.. yayy..

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Has anyone else started wearing extensions also just because you have also had problems having short and thin hair for a long time and not been able to get long and thick hair again which you don't have patience or not even have time to wait for some special reasons as me? How long can tape extensions be on hair, can it be used again several times on hair, how long can it last before it gets worn out, how many tape exensions do I need for short and thin hair when I want long and thick hair, how can I keep it on my hair without it falling off, does it feels natural like our own hair when we wear it, will tape attachment be invisible on short and thin hair, can it make hair worn, how to blow-dry my hair and tape extensions without it being worn if tape extensions have to be blow-dryed every time I wash both my hair and tape extensions and do tape extensions need any other products than just extra tape, remover and another shampoo and conditioner?

Lisa Heleen: Love it so much!

Hannah Heintzman: GIRL your new hair growth looks so healthy I’m happy for you!! But also jealous

Bree Bell: Well that's a new way of pronouncing Monaco

Silver: So beautiful! Good job

Porcelain: I NEED these! I would love to dye these purple and finally have good looking hair!

rosie eleanor: i love your hair being back brown!! it looks so good x

Denise Romo: I would never think you have extensions on! Gorgeous btw!

GirlGroup Defense: It seems easy until you try it yourself

Krystal O'Brien: Did you go more red? I like it. Also obsessed with it just down and straight— so friggin’ pretty!

Manon Poirier: Oh I would love a tutorial on this makeup!

M K: I forgot your hair was dark!!! I love your look. You look amazing.

Chelsea Hurrell: @tashaleelyn first of all, love all the vids, one of my favourite youtubers, so genuine :) secondly: the hair extensions, i have wanted to try these for ages but am reluctant as I used to have the glue-ins and ended up losing some hair taking them out myself because they matted and were quite sore. any advice in looking after these? i think i have seen it in an older video of yours but can't remember! thanks for the awesome vids

Therese Cardani: Love the short hair in you You should really embrase it!

Renée Yell: Your shirt is gorgeous and so are you!! ❤️

Taehyungs_ella: Woah holy shit... The results omg

Sputnik: man you should try leaving your hair straight, it really works for you.

Steph E: Your short hair looks amazing!

Angie Gray: Do you already have a video talking all about your tape ins? I really want to get the but I don’t really know anything about upkeep. If you haven’t made a video about them yet, could you? :) loved this video!

Lemon Cheesecake: How long can you leave the tape in, before removing.

Alexa Sunshine83: Looks gorgeous !!!

Savannah: Hey Tasha, are tape in extensions damaging for your hair? I have coloured hair that I'm growing long while also touching up my roots and I was wondering if you'd ever use them on coloured hair or if they're too damaging for that? Thanks and love your videos and you! Long time subscriber and loved you through it all!

Felicia Sam: That was flawless

Randi Ruder: I love the tail comb trick!

Liona Official: well done ... im a hairdresser and i use this tapes since 9 years , i also by myself

Jocelyn Huerta: love the whole look !!!

Daisy Pacheco: So pretty !

Melanie Henderson: Love the vid! You are so glam!

carly mikula: How often do you have to change the extensions out and put in new ones????

Nailhea So: @tashaleelyn you don’t need crazy hair colors you still beautiful

Taylor S: Wow you look incredible with both long and short hair

Lytra: Finally found someone who has the same length of hair as me, I’m hoping to get extensions for my Christmas dance but I don’t want to look weird

friend Ship: How long to the tape in extensions last?

Edwige Vinot: Wish I could do this by myself... I've tried to put them alone and took them off like 1 hour after I've put them because it was so ugly and all... :'( like yours blends perfectly how is it even possible wow I'm jealous

Sam A: SOOOOO beautiful

Rozina N: Omg thank for having such useful information!!

angelmknzi: How long do the extension stay in?? Like a day? A week?

Lea Seberg Fladstad: Can SugarBearHair Vitamins still fix my hair least after almost eight months even when I have only once tried tape extensions and gently tore them off my hair insted of extensions remover?

Annie Low: Thank u so much ☺️ So helpful.

Edwige Vinot: How many sandwiches did you put in your hair? I only have 27 left so 54 pieces... Will it be enough? @tashaleelyn

Alyssa Gurule: Girl! Where is that top from?! That thing is like a magnificent unicorn on crack. So freaking pretty!

Míchelle Siara: can you do a video on how to remove tape ins?

blueeyedbb777: Great video thank you!!!

Le N: Love love LOVE ❤️

Dixie Rae: I'm a bit late here honey but I need to tell you this is giving me hope. During the summer I went into a salon and over 3 weeks time and six haircuts all done by level 5 stylists I ended up walking out the door with a badly cut pixie when I had walked through the door with hair down the middle of my back planning on getting a long chunky layered Bob. To say the least an absolute nightmare so I'm now going through the wonderful experience of growing out a pixie cut and thinking I'm not going to make it. I have a long way to go before I can even consider extensions but not as long as I thought I did. I'm sure that it took you a lot of practice to become As Good As You Are but you certainly have given me hope that I'll be able to eliminate an enormous part of the growth process. Thank you so much sweetie. I'll be going and subscribing now so funny I was already subscribed but I've never seen you with hair that short before and didn't recognize you LOL I hope I haven't made you have to suffer through this long story already. I don't imagine you'll be back reading this message anyway so I think I'm safe I won't delete.

Courtney Bynum: You did a great job

Belle T: Can you do a video on that makeup look.. it's gorgeous!!!

teelajane: How long do they last in your hair ?? Xx

Ángel Castellanos Martínez: Hello. How are those sccissors called? Thanks

Alittlemyselff: I love this video so much, I am also looking for extensions, however not sure which type. I think this is one of the least harmfull ways. Could you also show us the process of removing these? That would be so usefull in my case.

TanjaJB: I know you dont like short hair on you but you look so adorable with both short and long hair. Im sending you hug <3

Casey Cameron: How long do these last? Are the one use? How long before you remove them?

Andy Dawn: Ugh, I wish my hair was long enough to do extensions, but it’s only 3 inches long, with half an inch of root regrowth (the rest is blonde) im going to dye it back to its semi natural colour (im going blue black)

Queen Belle: Am I the only one that didn’t know she completely cut off her hair and that she was wearing tape in extensions this entire time!!? I THOUGHT THAT WAS YOU’RE NATURAL HAIR THIS ENTIRE TIME!!

Lian Citlali: But THAT TOP THOOOOO

LadyyJupiter World: SLAYYYYYYY

Danny Dorothea: I’ve used tape-ins 3 times now, but does anyone else seem to have lost a lot of hair?

Norah: Where did you get the pink top? It looks so PRETTYYYYYY

Annelor Tellier Ch.: ❤

RebeccaRandoms: I wanna do this but I’m way too scared that I’m going to mess it up!

Hanna Marie Wosminity: Really wondering if the Satin Strands Tape in extensions are worth it or not???? What do you honestly think about them today?

ava althoff: you look so pretty! short hair or not you look amazing!!!!!

Alannah Banana: How long do they last?

elfhchan: I will have to say... you look amazing with short hair, you should rock this hairstyle sometime! ;) Loved your video as always!

Annie Florez: I have really thick hair, how many packages do you think I would need?

Maria’s Decor and DIY: How long do these last? Can you wash your hair with them ?

Emily Jayne: I want to do this because my hair is so short and clips ins always get ruined, my hair isn’t naturally straight tho so would it work ???

Karen Crouch: I need your shirt

Aprendiendo Vía Virtual: How many packets did you use?

Heavy Metal Lion: Tasha, i NEED that top.

Surii: You will return to fantasy colours?

Gabriella Cuevas: woah, did you have some help you or did you do this yourself!!??!

Autumn: I wanted a trim lob to my actual hair and she cut it into a short bob, cried n died, seriously considering tape ins

Glam Seamless: wow love it - you should try glam seamless tape ins - you would LOVE them!! GORGEOUS

Amelia Mary: Babe! Where is that dress from??
