Tape In Hair Extensions|Application|Removal|Re-Taping

Hey everyone! Today's video is all about tape-in hair extensions! The ones I use in this video are Cinderella Hair T-Hair in the color Alpine Blonde S600 and came in 12", which I cut to blend with my own hair. I added these extensions for volume and a couple of inches of length on the sides. For a full head, I would have done the same application technique. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, please feel free to ask away! I am here to help :)

Hey everybody, so today's video is going to be on my taping hair extensions. I'Ve been wearing them now for eight weeks and I thought I would just make a video explaining kind of why I'm wearing them and the pros and cons of tape and hair extensions. So I guess first I'll just show you what they look like, I'm wearing mine on my sides to thicken them up, and I have moved them up already. So this is just what they are. I have two on each side, so you can just see that it has like a little band at the top, and that is where it connects and then it's just the hair so like I said, I've been wearing them for eight weeks and I have already moved Them up and I'm going to be, showing you guys a demo and I'm going to be showing you how I take them out and then we tape and reapply. So it is actually a pretty simple method for hair extensions um. I can see how this would be a lot easier to do on yourself, as opposed to like student hair extensions, which I actually did end up purchasing to do a full head, and I will kind of get to that in just a second. I do let the tape if they are really comfortable to wear you can barely feel them at all like when I put my hand over my head, I could barely feel that I have anything in my hair. It'S really comfortable to sleep on and never had any problem. Um even like the first day. I didn't have a problem sleeping on them. I they didn't feel uncomfortable or anything like that. The one guy I will say that now it is summer I am noticing, I'm outside a lot more and just because weather is nicer when the wind picks up. Since I do have short layers. This thing is really easy to see like if the wind were to pick up. You can just see how easy that would be just to be able to see in my hair, I don't mind necessarily people know I'm wearing extensions, just because I am a hair stylist and I do like trying out new things, but I also don't want something. This large, like it is, I think, believe it's like a one and a half inch strip, and obviously it is not like it does not blend in with the rest of my hair in that area. I'M sure if you were like really dark and the strip was dark, you able to see it or if you're really blonde and the strip was blonde, you will be able to see it either by you have darker roots, and you could really see that little bonded Area when the wind blows, that is my biggest kind and the reason why I am getting fusion extensions. I do love tape. Ins, I think they're very comfortable, like I said it's just the only thing is, is what I'm outside and everything. I am very self-conscious when it comes to seeing that band, so those are pretty much the only pros and cons. I can really say other than you do have to have maintenance done on them. Between a four and eight weeks. You could probably go a little bit longer just depending on how well you care for your hair, but it is pretty much recommended between that time. You'Re going to have to get them removed, retyped and then move back up. So I'm going to show you guys the demo right now on how to apply them, how to take them out and how to retake them. The extensions I got are barred the brand Cinderella hair and they are in the color alpine blonde and twelve inches long. You can just see at the top, there is a tab that you just take off and it reveals the sticky part that adheres to your hair. So in the before, you can just see that my sides are really thin, and that is the reason I got these extensions. So all you're going to need are some clips and a rat tail or highlighting comb to section off your hair. So all you have to do is section off your hair, making sure that the line is nice and clean, making sure there are no stragglers, because that can cause damage and then once you have the line where you want it to be and go ahead and clip The rest of your hair up, I made it about an inch above my ear just so they weren't rusting right on my ears, and I only did two sandwich extensions on each side of my hair. I just do the same thing to the other side, just to make sure that they are going to be even and then it is ready to apply them, and it is actually super simple. All you have to do is peel off that paper to reveal the sticky and try not to touch it too much, and then what I do is just press the sticky part against my head making sure that all the hair from corner to corner is stuck and Then just lift up the extension, and you can see that my hair that needs to be on that extension is already connected. So you don't have to section it out by yourself. Then you just want to take another extension, put the sticky against your hair again and then just press the tab, nice and firm to make sure there are no air bubbles and everything is secure. I learned this method from another youtuber, Shannon Nicole she's, also a hairstylist, and it is just a lot more simple for me to do, because you do not have to keep sectioning out small layers of hair. So then you just want to go ahead and do the same thing like I said I did it two times on each side and if you did not notice, I did not use a flat iron on the tape tab to heat it up. I'Ve seen people doing this and the main reason I would think that they would do. That is just to heat up the tape to adhere better. But if you are using really good tape tabs, you should not have to do that. If you do feel that using the flat iron to heat it up will make it more secure, you can go ahead and do that, but I was fine doing it this way and then once the extensions are in, I definitely had to cut and blend them. So here is the after of that and all I did was cut up the length and then slide cut the layers just to blend fast forward to about four weeks later. Here is the Cinderella bond remover. It is basically just acetone in a bottle, and I've actually used that since just plain acetone, so all you want to do - is sort of get the tab at the top filled up with that bond, remover or acetone. Let it sit for a good five or ten seconds and then just peel it back. You can see - and here that I was struggling to do that and I actually wish I would have recorded removing the next one, because what I did was let us soak for five or ten seconds and then grabbed it from the middle as opposed to the end And it came off way easier, but you can just see that if you are having trouble, just keep applying the bond remover and you should be fine. I did not lose any of my natural hair doing it this way, because I was really gentle and not ripping at the extension to come off using acetone or alcohol-based. Removers can be damaging and drag to the hair. So you just want to make sure to shampoo and condition your real hair, as well as the extensions before you reapply them. The replacement text I'm using are also by Cinderella. Hair. You just want to make sure to use a brand. That'S going to fit your hair extensions and before shampooing, you just want to make sure to remove that tape. Tab, and you would just see it's really simple it literally just peels right off and the shampoo I'm using is Redken, hair, cleansing, cream and the mask. I am using is by pure ology. It is the perfect for platinum. You want to make sure to use a nice deep, conditioner or a hair mask. So what I did was just shampooed the tape tab as well as the extensions and I actually left the shampoo on for a couple of minutes just to make sure to get rid of any of the residue from the tape or that acetone. So once you have let it sit, you go ahead and rinse it out, and then I did apply the hair mask right after and I did leave that on for a good, five or ten minutes just to make sure that the extensions were nice and conditioned, and Then at this point I did just let them air dry, the least amount of heat you use on your extensions, the better. So I did just let them air dry before reapplying the tape tabs. So another tip I do have is labeling. Where your hair extensions go. You can just see here that this is the bottom right, hair extension, so all you want to do is just take your replacement tape tabs and I just laid mine facing a sticky side up. I just found that was the easiest way to reapply them, and you can just see here in this next clip that there is a side that is sort of shiny and that's the side where the tape goes and then the other side. That is more on the matte side is the side that is exposed, and once you have established that you can go ahead and just leave that tape, tab facing up and then just roll the extension right over top of it and make sure just to press down Firmly just make sure that there are no air bubbles and everything is nice and secure. I accidentally did the tab upside down. The extra part is supposed to be at the top, but it worked out just fine and you are ready to apply it's. My experience on tape and hair extensions, like I said I really do like them. Just the only thing that I find as a negative really is that you can see the band when the wind blows when you're outside and I'm a little more self-conscious with tape in since it is a larger band, as opposed to using extensions with which, basically just Look like highlights my opinion and it is a band. So obviously, when this whole chunk moves, you can tell that it is just a bigger area of hair that doesn't exactly blend as nicely as I'm liking and it you can't really wear your hair up, or at least I can't with my fine hair. Maybe if you had thicker hair to cover, but I can't really wear up - you can probably see there like you - can just see that little piece of tape when you're like pulling it up and like I said, that's probably just due to the fact um just because Of my hair color being lighter on the end and then darker on the root area, so that I guess, is another kind of it for you to mention. If you guys have any questions comments concerns on this, I would just basically giving you guys my little pros and cons and how I did it just a quick video. So if you do have any questions, please feel free to ask those in the comment section down below and I will be happy to help as best as I can and before I forget, I am wearing the Cinderella hair extensions. These are the only tapings. I have tried, I know there are ton on the market and I do plan on doing a video on my fusion extensions and you can get just longer wear out of those, but so much maintenance. So I hope you guys enjoyed this video. I hope it was helpful and if you haven't subscribed and want to see more videos for me, don't forget to do that. Hope. You guys have an awesome day and I hope to see in the next one bye, everybody
