Hi, I'm Ruben Martinez, her artist and international educator for Donna, Bella, hair extensions and today, I'm here to share with you some of my favorite tips for aftercare. So the first things first, this is my go-to item. When it comes to my clients, I want to make sure every one of them go home with an extension brush, really great and really important to make sure that they're rooted area remains matte and tangle free. So now, what you're gon na do is you're gon na take this brush and go right over the point of attachment at least twice a day, making sure that it's not gon na have any mats formed whatsoever. Okay, you want to be certain that when you're utilizing the brush you're working with dry hair, so if your client comes out to shower, have them stay away from brushing it right away. You guys, since hair, will still be in its most elastic form at that point. So another thing to avoid is using direct heat over the point of attachment, and this is particularly in when you're working with the tape and extensions now with the tape ends, remember you're working with the medical-grade adhesive, so we want to avoid merging them together, the routine Okay, you guys, so you can keep the point of attachment or you can actually use heat below the point of attachment. I should say with low temperatures you don't want to go too extreme you can use about. I would say 350 would be my stopping point. Okay, anything above that is gon na cause, more wear and tear to your extensions sooner than later. So, just please keep that in mind. Now, let's talk about washing the hair. Now some of our clients are typically used to wash their hair daily, or sometimes every two to three days. So what we like to promote with extensions is washing it every three or four days or so, and in between washes, you can definitely utilize a dry shampoo. It is definitely promoted. You love dry shampoo, to give it that second day feel, even if it is on that third or fourth day so also remember, keep in mind you guys when you're shampooing, what you want a shampoo like normal, but at the same time you want to condition only The mid-shaft to the ends keep the conditioner away from that point of attachment at all times, no matter what method you're working on so that way, it's not going to promote slipping sooner than later and once again, when it comes down to extension, as far as shampoos And conditioning sulfate free products or what we love and promote. So, let's recap: when it comes to active care with extensions, you guys number one: you have your extension brush. You want to use that twice a day first thing in the morning and right before they go to bed also, we want to keep away from direct heat over that point of attachment. Okay, now, when it comes to washing, remember you guys utilize your dry, shampoo. Okay, you want to kind of keep your days of washing a little bit separate than normal, whether it be two to three days, four would be awesome as well. So, but that being said, you guys any comments, questions you got, leave them below. We'Ll see you guys. Kate Wilke: My hair is on the thinner side. I have been using tape in extensions, but wondering whats the difference between tape in and flat tip extensions. Flat tip seem so much easier, but wondering which is better. Sometimes I struggle with my tape ins been seen if they are placed too high.

I think my scalp needs oil but I don’t want u ruin my tape !! Any suggestions ?! , I’m not washing twice a week to try and get rid of it when my hair isn’t greasy lol

adriane zawacki: Does client have to wait to shampoo hair after installation? if so how long? 48 hours/ 72 hours?

lori wickens: If it’s bad to brush it while wet, am I supposed to wait until totally dry?? I only blow dry my hair if I’m in a hurry. I do my best to let it air dry. I work very hard to take the best care of this investment . If you can help with my question I would greatly appreciate it.

Pat H: Can I use a boar bristle brush instead of extension brush ?

Elsi Stylianou: My hair is thin is it possible that it became thinner from extensions? I don't have loss from the top of my head but I can see that my hair became thinner and shorter so what might be the problem?

Damian Serrano: How do you moisturize try scalp with these extensions?

Kristen Campbell: What if you have very oil pores on your scalp?

Tenacious Dee: I do usually use sulphate free shampoos ( palmers olive oil or coconut ) but I’m reluctant to use them Incase too oily for the tape too ! I can’t have this dandruff though ..... I’ve never had it before !

Crystal X: I just got tape ins two weeks ago. I know dry shampoo is good but how do u actually wash the hair? Do u just was your hair on top where there's no tape in wefts? Should I get my whole hair wet? Is it ok to not put shampoo on bottom of extensions, just conditioner. And is it ok to put Argan and such oils on the bottoms often?

Trina Marie Kaur Singh: How long do tape in Extensions usually last before needing to be replaced. Traveling to my India soon to meet my mother in law and have my second Wedding Ceremony and I really am looking for a new style before I go. Do I need to be worried about them falling out like clip ins or getting faded from washing also is using amla oil on the end of my hair damaging for tape ins? I am doing research before spending money on it as I dont want to damage my hair too much.
