Hair Makeover * Balayage + Tape-In Extensions!

Good morning, everybody it is a bad hair day. I'M just going to call myself out for that, but today we're getting my hair done. I wanted to take you guys along the journey of my hair process. I got a lot of questions about just like my hair. In general, I guess like what I get done to it, the extensions and all that so I kind of want to just take you guys on something that I do. I should be doing this every like three months getting my hair done but like I should have got my hair done in February, and it's now like the end of May so. This is like so far overdue. Like the last time I got my hair done was in January, so yeah. If you can tell like look how brunette my bangs are. This usually like starts up here and then also like it's super super yellow, my bangs. I have it just like up in a bun cuz, it's really not pretty. What we're going to do today is we're going to get the extensions taken out we're going to have new extensions ordered, so I'm actually not getting them put back in today, and the reason for that is because I'm going to get my hair done tomorrow, so dyed And all that stuff, it's just hard like how would someone dye my hair perfectly if there is like the extensions - and you know I like do my whole head - I don't just like do my roots really so today we're going to get my hair extensions taken out. So I'm going to bring you along kind of that process right there, so yellow okay! So I'm just gon na pop right in to kind of talking you guys through this. So I get my tape and hair extensions done by Laura. If you guys live anywhere near me like if you live in the GTA, I highly highly recommend her. I just love her work. She also does lash extensions. You just spray tan things like that, but I will put her Instagram down below. So, if you guys are thinking about getting tape ins, I highly recommend her she just as such a fabulous job, so she's just using a solution right now to take out my old tape ins. These were really really really grown out. These ones on the side weren't. As grown out as some of the ones in the back because they didn't move those up, but don't let don't leave your hair extensions over this long. Like I really was like past you, I felt so she's just using a solution to take out the tape. This is a really great one because it doesn't leave your hair like too greasy or anything. So if you had to like go out after you could do that so she's just going through my head. Normally she would start at the bottom, but just because we were filming that she sort of started where the camera could see the best but yeah, usually she starts from the bottom and goes up. This process doesn't take very long to take them out. I have gotten them taken out and put in on the same day, but because I'm going to get my hair dyed tomorrow, we're just getting them taken out today. I also really liked that, because gives me a little bit of time to like scrub, my scalp and like sort of just enjoy not having tapings for a day so yeah, let's uh, finish, taking them out, okay, so this is how long my hair is without the Tape and extensions right now, it's pretty healthy as well. It'S just kind of a mess and needs a tone that kind of thing: it's pretty long, I'm pretty happy with it, but it's definitely not long enough. I think I need about like four more inches to be happy without wearing tape and extensions, but we shall get there so next we are going to get our hair done at shag salon. This was my first time here. I got my hair done by Haley and I was actually thrilled with the outcome of everything she let me film, some of it, so that was exciting. What I'm able to show you guys if you're wondering when I get done to my hair, I just get a balayage, and this time I had her like tone. My bangs, together with my hair. Just because I felt like the blonde in the front of my head was so harsh and it didn't really look the greatest. I wanted it to more blend in with the rest of my hair, but yeah Haley did a great job. I was really really really happy with that. So if you are interested in getting getting your hair done by Haley, she is actually located in Guelph, so I will again I'll put her Instagram down below. I think I'm gon na keep going back to her again and again. Cuz yeah, like I said it was a really great experience. Well after we left the foil sit on my head, she took them all out and then we basically just gave my hair like a quick, wash look how blonde blonde monkey! I am oh, my gosh so funny, but that's pretty much what it looks like cuz. She does like a teasing method, she's very good, at what she does and then so she just washes out, and then I get a toner in the sink, because the toner doesn't really need to be on all that long. Here is the final shot of my hair. Don'T mind the color here it looks very, very warm. I think it's a lot more neutral in person. I just didn't, have my white balance set properly but like look at how healthy my hair looks so cows like beautiful, like oh, my god, I was so happy. Leaving here the next day, I went back to Laura and it was time to get the tape ins in now. I know a lot of you guys are gon na. Tell me that they don't need tape, tape, ins, because I get that as it is. My hair is doing really great, but it's just still not at the stage that I want it to be at. Unfortunately, because I am coloring it now. I do have to quite cut off quite a bit over time, but Laura is just going ahead and putting in the tape - and I just think you know what life is too short to not be happy with your appearance like if you want to do something to Change your parents and you're gon na be happier doing that. I just think it's so worth it and I'm such an advocate for you know doing that. Whatever that you want. So if you guys don't know much about tape and extensions, they basically are a sandwich. So you'll see Laura. She takes a little section of my hair and then she puts a sandwich on top and underneath and then we set that with just a little bit of heat from a hair straightener. So she just goes through my entire head to do that. You'Ll see I have a top knot in right now, and that is just because I really like to wear a top knot in the summer. So I didn't want Laura to place the tape in extensions too high. I want to be able to wear that top knot and have them not be seen. Also, I have a cowlick at the back of my head and I didn't want Laura to put them too high, because you know when I lay in bed or something that extension will always be seen. So we just had that as like a guideline. Laura is so great like she she really listens to like where I want them to go. I'Ve had extensions for a very long time, so I sort of know you know what I what I like and she's so great about it and yeah she's, just really great. At what she does so again, you guys want taken extensions, or is your girl so yeah we're just going to go ahead and apply all the tape is okay guys. So this is the final hair. I thought I'd give you a look at the blends and the color and the extensions. I think we have a really good match, so I've been wearing like this color hair extensions for quite a while. Now I think, since probably since January, since I started going to Laura - I would say we switched to these extensions because we were using something that was like extremely warm and it was completely the wrong color for my hair, so we mix two different colors together. One is a blonde and one is a brown, so it's like a 10 and an 8 that we mix together to sort of have it match the tonal that's going on on top of my head. So, while we're on the topic of hair, I kind of just wanted to show you guys a couple of my favorite products that I use this first one I actually just got at shag salon today, so um Haley recommended this to me. This smells so good. Okay, this is by Kevin Murphy. This is the bedroom hair. It'S a flexible, texturizing hairspray, it's really light on my hair, but it gives me that texture that I kind of need. I don't really like using heavy like strong hold hairspray. So this is just sort of amazing, but i I've only had it in my hair once I can't give it like a full review or anything like that, but I so far really really enjoy this prior to that. I was using this guy at the texturizer, so this is by igk. It'S called beach club volumizing texture spray. This smells amazing. Chewed smells like you just got back from vacation, so good. I love I GK hair products. This one has a lot more mmm like if you really need that texture. This one has that in comparison to that Kevin Murphy one so next up, this is called thirsty girl and this is by igk as well. This is a coconut milk. Leave-In conditioner has 24-hour frizz control, so this is in a spray, and so it coats the hair like really really evenly and, like I said it's coconut milk, so I'll apply this on damp hair right into the shower almost empty. So now that I have that texturizing hairspray probably won't be using a hair spray as much, but this was the one that I was using that I loved - and this is by Marc, Anthony bye, bye, frizz, it's a humidity shield, hair spray, so it blocks the humidity To help fight frizz, so the last thing I'll talk about is my cake Beauty. This is called the wave maker. It is the totally to-die-for texturising Beach spray. I don't know how much I love it for the texturizing aspect, what I love it for it as a hair perfume. It is so good. So I don't know this smells like candy freezies, sugar, goodness, and so you know what. Sometimes after you styled your hair too many times that week, it starts to smell, especially with hair extensions. So what I will do is I'll. Take this and I'll just like spray it into my hair, I'm not gon na. Do it now cuz, I don't need it I'll spray it into my hair and it will just make it smell. Really nice and lovely again so absolutely use this for it. You guys should smell this, so I hope that you guys enjoyed coming along my little hair journey. I know it is quite a journey takes a couple days to get my hair done, but beauty is a long journey and you know what my hair is almost long enough where I feel like. I won't have to do these dungeons anymore, which I'm pretty excited about. I just I think I need like four more inches. I think, probably the end of this year.
