My Straightener Removed My Hair Dye?? Black/Pink To Blonde(Ish)

shortest time I've had a hair color EVER lmao

I decided I was bored of my color so I removed my black and pink hair dye WITHOUT BLEACH (are you proud?) because apparently my hair straightener does a better job than any other product I've ever used..

but tbf the vitamine c treatment and hair color remover did a pretty good job too

This isn't a sponsored video.

Today is gon na be chaos. Three weeks ago, i dyed my hair, and this is kind of like a first in my youtube history, but i haven't even shown you what my hair looks like yet like the moment, i'm filming this video. I have not posted my hair dyeing video, so i wonder when the video is going online, but um, even though i haven't shown you the video yet or maybe i have by now. I don't know i'm already bored of the hair color. I literally decided five minutes ago that i'm going to try and get the color out of my hair right now. Okay, so let's go so yeah anyways um! I dyed my hair with bright pink, which is already faded, a lot, but also with black. So, as you can see, my hair is like super duper, dark right now, um. I already did a few things to try and get the color out of my hair, because i don't know. I already knew that i was gon na get rid of this color pretty quickly, so i already washed it a few times with anti-dandruff shampoo and i did a vitamin c treatment so um. This is like the before color by the way. Bling and to be honest, i do think it's like a pretty cool color right now, because it's kind of like an oil slick, so let me see if i can show you okay. This is what my hair looks like right now. Let me just pass by real quick, i'm not in the way am i i'm not sure how well the camera actually picks it up, but like the black has faded into a purple, a blue and a green, which we all know are very difficult, colors to get Out of your hair, but i'm gon na drive, i mean nothing is impossible. Look it's kind of sick, though, because like here it looks purple, but then here it's more of like a green in here too. Isn'T that kind of wild look? Look, i think overall, it actually looks pretty nice. If i would see someone walk around the street with this hair color, i would be like damn girl, you're. Looking fine. However, it's just not the vibe. For me, i don't know, i'm not really a like multiple hair, colors kind of person hey, i like two different colors, but these are like six different colors and that's just a little bit too much like i said already washed it a few times already. Did the vitamin c treatments and now i'm going to use a color remover? Hopefully it will take like most of the color out of it and then i can like put a different color on top of it or something that's kind of like my goal. For the day, so, let's put some stinky stuff in my hair, cut the little instructions and i'm pretty sure that you just have to mix a and b put it in your hair. That'S how this always works. Oh this actually smells very nice. This one not so much i mean it does have like a faint sewer smell, but you also can smell like a perfume or something so i mean so far. It'S nice good enough for me. I guess wait now. You can actually see like the color, like i'm saying it is a pretty color, but it's just not my vibe. Sorry, oh, this stuff actually feels pretty nice also smell, not too bad, which we love, i'm pretty sure everything is covered, but i got like a lot left in the bottle, so i'm just gon na empty the entire bottle out boy because we don't like waste on This channel, i'm gon na wrap this in plastic. Now i'm gon na, let it sit 45 minutes and then i'm going to wash it out by using the buffer and then the conditioner. So yeah see you later hey something insane happened: okay, something that i definitely did not expect to happen happens, and that is the color is out of my hair sorta. I'Ve had so many hair failures in my life that at this point i just expect everything to be a failure. But this one wasn't look at the color. Oh wait. I made i made a little braid in my hair, which i forgot about, but obviously it's not blonde or anything because of course i used a blue tone black, so yeah, as you can see, it's still very blue, but so much of the color has come out Of my hair, it's like a completely different color right now, like all the red tones, are gone, look at it and i actually also think that my hair is looking pretty cute right now. Okay, you probably think that this is like the end. You know of me trying to get the girl out of my hair, but it's not because i wanted to straighten my hair a little bit yesterday and something happened that i just can't ignore: okay, um! If you use a heat tool on your colored hair, it actually fades the color a little bit and if you've seen one of my recent videos of where i get ready for a wedding, then there's like this moment in the video where i straighten my hair, and I get like super confused by the fact that so much of the hair color gets out of my hair. I'Ve had colored hair for years right now, and i've straightened my hair for years and the color never got out as much as it did that time. Right. Well, that was until yesterday, because this is going to be the same. Let me show you, i hope it's gon na work. Now, oh my god, imagine if it's like not gon na work for camera, but let me get like a section of hair. This is going to blow your mind. At least it blew my mind. Straightener yeah got a section of hair. I'M gon na grab this just look at the color of my hair. What the hell! That'S insane! Look how much it's actually using look. It'S a completely different color. These two used to be the same color. Isn'T that absolutely insane boy wait yeah! Let me do like bottom half, okay, what the flippity flappity floop so yeah, even though i do like the color that my hair is right now i find this whole straightening process so interesting that i'm just going to straighten my entire hair right now and see with What color i'm going to end up with because, like this is very interesting to me. It'S like a little experiment. Oh my god! Look what i just did wait. I can show you, oh my god. Let me do it a little bit higher on this. Oh, my god, boy wait. This is kind of sick, though so i'm just going to straighten half of my hair and yeah. I'M aware that my hair is already pretty straight, but that's not like the point of my strainer right now: okay, i'm trying to change colors. So yeah, i'm gon na do a half of my hair and then i'm gon na like compare the two sides: okay, okay, okay, i did this half of my hair and you can literally already tell difference, look how dark it is over here and look how light It is over there - and this is my right side, and this is my left side right side left side. The woman was too stunned to speak so yeah um. Let me just straighten my entire head of hair and then i practically have blonde hair again. This is so strange. Look at my hair. This is [ __ ], insane bro [ __ ] insane, i mean obviously like the top part of my hair was lighter to begin with so like. If you would look at the parts underneath it i mean they're. Definitely darker and they're definitely still like a little bit of green blue, but like most of it got out. This is what my hair looked like before, and this is it now and i did not use any bleach at oh [, __ ]. The only things i did was a vitamin c treatment, color remover and straightening my hair, so yeah um. This was today's video everybody. I hope you liked it if you have an explanation for the way my hair reacted to my straightener. I would love to hear what it is because, like i said, i've straightened my hair before in my life, and it has never been this extreme like this is intense yeah anyways. Thank you for watching and i hope to see you in my next video

C B: This is really just a very simple exothermic reaction in which the heat from your straightener activates color removing fairies in the atmosphere. Once the fairies are activated, they work tirelessly to strip the color from your hair. It’s really quite a rare phenomenon and you have to live in the right microclimate for this to happen. In other words, I have no idea what’s going on here.

Rai: I watched you dye your hair pink YESTERDAY NIGHT Crystal you're making my heart go up and down HAHAHAHA

Purple Ivy: I live in AZ. Last year I bleached my hair and colored it Lavender. Later that day I went out with my friend to an outdoor mall, it was a sunny day about 110 degrees. When we were done shopping and got back in the car, we noticed the hot sun had removed all the color from my hair and I was a blond. . It was funny as hell.

Debora Drumond: Color remover leaves a lot of chemical residue on the hair, that's why the straightener is "removing" de color. You should do a light soapcap to stop the reaction cause it can interfere with the next color you put in

kieran shearer: use a heat protector. it's just the heat burning the color out. it happens with some brands/colors. it's why sometimes when you have toner in your blond hair, if you use a high heat straightener on your hair, it can make it brassy again cause it's burned the toner out lol

Nina B.: Here in Brazil a lot of people actually use straightener + color remover (yep, without rinsing) to remove direct dye from the hair. It fries your hair tho.

katriyana jacobo: The more porous your hair (therefore more damaged) the easier it is for color molecules to get out of the hair cuticles. Heat opens up the cuticles allowing the color molecules to escape through steam doing a protein treatment after coloring your hair should keep it in for a little bit longer but nothing can really stop heat for doing its thing

Taylor: this happened when i dyed my hair blue forever ago. it ruined my straightener. not in a functional sense, just my straightener is still blue LOL.

Fabian Berg: That's why i retired my colourful dyed hair last year: i was tired of faded hair, colour removing and all of this crap...now i bleach my hair once a year and switch between pastel pink and grey: those colour's won't stain my hair forever and my curl pattern loves me again :D At the end of every year i look like "kurt-cobain-ordered-from-wish"...but my "grungy-bleached hair" still matches my aesthetic. I'm proud of you Lindy: you got rid of colour without bleaching your hair :D The straightenig-process was mind-blowing :o

Ellen: we had these pens, when you went over a colour with them, they also the changed colour. this reminds me of these pens :D

thebxsketcxse: i've been coloring my hair for YEARS and this has never happened to me, what. this is so cool

Lucy Gresham: I really enjoy your content but in all honesty I'm here for Pablo...that cat is adorable xx

Lysol MyFace: People are really acting like this is normal for fashion colour dyes? I’ve been colouring my hair since 2016 and never had anything like this happen. Yes heat does remove colour, but not like that! The worst I’ve had is as if I had washed my hair, not full removal! Someone else said that it’s because of the chemicals from the colour remover and I think that’s probably right. I know bleach works better with heat so that makes sense that the remover might too. But damn this is a satisfying colour removal.

Sarah Ledford: I have never in my life had a heat tool remove color like THAT. That's crazy!

Marissa: Heat and sunlight will naturally remove color from your hair (think of ppl who go outside a lot and suddenly get highlights in their hair). Using the straightener does the same thing but waaayyyy faster! Scientific reason: Your hair is like a tube made of little scales and under the first set of scales is the pigment in your hair. When you bleach your hair you lift those scales and when you dye your hair a bright color, that color fills all those little gaps. When you use the straightener, it lifts the scales and disintegrates the dye. (I'm not a scientist and this may be inaccurate but this is my very basic understanding of it!!)

samanthaalynn27: You would look SO GOOD with emerald green hair!!!

Pinkfrogz: Very impressive actually. Especially that checkered look.

Jennycl_Art: this color remover is heat activated so the more heat = the more pigment comes out (im guessing)

Mama_Be@r: My daughter and I color our hair all the time. I've tried using the vitamin C and dandruff treatment but I've found that using clarifying shampoo works the best to help remove color. Not in a single setting though. Takes about a week. On a side note, your personality is almost IDENTICAL to my daughter's (she's 17). Never a dull moment at my house lol.

Ash Ketchum: I think the reason why your straightener took the color out is because that's how damaged the hair follicles are . Because of the multiple bleaches and recoloring your hair follicles are now not holding on to the pigment too well , when u straighten your hair or even wash it with hot water , your hairs pores open up , and that causes the pigment to be washed out/ ironed out . I recently cut my hair boy short again because I colored my hair and when I washed it , not only did it have a gummy texture , but it didn't hold on to the pigment anymore because it was so damaged ( I used permanent hair color ) . I dye my hair , pretty much as much as you do , I can't leave my hair alone , but because my hair was no longer holding pigment I cut it all off ( not saying u have to do so , your hair is beautiful ) . But anyway that's why it was so easy for the hair color to be ironed out of your hair . I've been there multiple times , it's sad because I love my color but ,that's what happened with yours . I do suggest doing a castor oil treatment on your hair before u color it , so it will be stronger and healthier and be able to hold your beautiful colors better. Also trim your dead ends ,it helps your hair grow stronger , the joy of having hair to me is , coloring and styling it . Just remember ,trim your ends , do hair masks , color your hair and have fun !

AKA Cupcake: A few years ago I finally achieved the perfect cotton candy pink hair. I had colored my hair the day before we went on vacation, and the very next day, after spending the entire day on the beach (in the heat), when we went back to the hotel room I looked in the mirror before my shower and my hair was platinum blonde again. All my color had faded completely! I guess it was the sun and the heat. I didn't even get to keep my beautiful pink 24 hours :(

Maddie Bodendorf: this happened to me once when i had very unwanted green-toned hair! i went swimming, then straightened it to a beautiful blond

Giorgia Burani: The moment when you were with no makeup and all your hair all sleeked back with only your natural color showing...i think is the most beautiful i've ever seen you. And not because I prefer only natural looks, I like bold makeup and colored hair as well. But...it's just...facts

Sam T: Ooh, you have a great base to go gray! The color remover must’ve opened up the hair cuticle and the heat was pulling more color out. Definitely something to keep in mind the next time your remover doesn’t do enough, haha.

Amy Smith: My hair was navy blue and light green. I used the artic fox bleach. My hair got blonddeeee. Like almost platinum. Now its yellow and brown. Cause thats what I dyed it lol. But if you wanna try a bleach. Its been the best for me so far

Raven A. Ritchie: I did this once, but as soon as I washed my hair a few days later, ALL the color came back

Lara Serrano: I feel you so much! I dyed my hair like three weeks ago and I’m already planning to change it tomorrow

_syrn1k: doesn’t it mean that your hair is REALLY damaged? i always was thinking like this

Valkyrie: I just watched your Black/Pink dye video. and now THIS RIP xD

Tiffany Doug: "Lemme just pass by real quick" "I'm not in the way, am I?" Never, cutie pie!

Wiktoria Jędrzejewska: I remember watching Beauty Lisa. She had grey hair and when she tried to straightened it it was turning into pink.

Anne x: I’m guessing that there might still be some leftover color remover in your hair and that combines with the heat might re activate it again. I’ve never seen this before tho my mouth was wide open when you showed it.

Alana Castañeda: The same thing happened when I bleached my hair and dyed it blue, I straightened after and it went to a dark blonde/very light green color

Manon: The length and style you have in the intro is sooo nice ✨ I know it sounds boring but I think it would look so good with a warm dark chestnut brown

EricaRhae: This literally happened to me yesterday while straightening my hair after using a color remover

Tommy P.: Girl next time I suggest Revlon color remover for permanent dyes! It's the only one that didn't damage my hair. Color oops from the drug store FRIED it off, despite claiming there's no bleach or ammonia in it... You rock any hair color btw ❤️

Angelica Share the Music: Cool! that looked like so much fun what an easy color to use, when you don't want it to be so permanent

Aimee Tino: Holy shit lol I’ve never seen a straightener take color out of hair before ! It’s actually fascinating to watch it happen

Shawna Kutsch: Wow...that's a ton of color coming out. Never seen it do that much with a straightener.

Katherine: Well, if your straightener removes hair dye that just means that it's way too hot and you should lower the settings if possible. XD

Kimirocks: I love this video, it was very entertaining as always. But let's be honest about Arctic Fox: It's a pretty stupid hairdye, isn't it? I used it a few years ago, I wanted my hair to be purple and after ONE wash it was completely minty green. I mean WTF... That never happened with Manic Panic or Directions. I hope Lindy won't cooperate with them anymore... I have seen so many bad results with their colours. Do you have better experience, guys?

Miaow McDonald: wow. just the other night i watched you dye it pink & black and now you’re doing some kinda exothermic voodoo magic to remove it and create a colour so rare…. i can’t keep up with you Lindy. you look amazing whatever colour you apply. those blue green shades half way through this video are gorgeous. you look like some hippy surfer girl. beautiful x

Patrice Langford: Your hair always looks great.

𝂅ׁ𖤐Ꞌꞌ 𝐀ᥒᧁꫀᥣ ‧໋݊𑄸: It happened to me once when I had red hair, I used a new straightener and my hair was all blonde again

Lisa Smith: That's absolutely crazy how it removed the blue!! I might have to try it x lov ya lindy

Andrea M Artistry: Your hair is looking really good.

Lindsay Engel: Your eyebrows look incredible!!!!!! I need to shave mine if they come back like that!

Geiner Fallas: I have never dye my hair, and i don´t think i will do it, but i always watch this videos, it´s because of Lindy, it´s so funny and cool

Rosalie: did it stay blonde even after you washed it back into it's normal shape? I was wondering if maybe the blue vanished because of how the light hits your hair after using a straitener .. Just curious!

Chiken: The same things happened to me when I went green!

Jenna LaPointe: Artic fox black did the same thing in my hair!!! Like oil slick hair when it faded.. I was feeling it.

Lily 💜: This time next week: “shaving my head again”

Rihab Essayh: So gonna buy this colour remover, so much better can everything I’ve tried

Pheo The internet Cat: Okay but when you had the color remover in your hair and it was all slicked back…. you look really good

tallymonster: Dude i melted off my hair trying that once. It suuuuucked!! Lucky for me that it was in a spot that i could hide easily.

star Mendez: That usually happens when your hair is extremely damaged

Slimy Peach 🍑: Now I’m side eyeing my straightener debating if I should try it to remove this bit of hair colour that I’ve stripped already and it refuses to budge. I mean…worth a shot?

amandamarie_____: Are you a magician? Like I’m still in shock over the straightening taking the color out

Anais Peplinski: I freaking loved the ice blue on you (with that eyeliner, too )

ʚ 𝒓𝒆𝒐 ₍ᐢ..ᐢ₎ ♡̷: Her hair b4 (the bluish) was pretty cool cause it has the same color as her eyes

Donya Hanna: I think it looks great! ‍♀️I’m a fan

Erd Bär: Okay here's my hot take: the hair straightener using heat or ions (if it was ions it would be even simpler) is adding kinetic energy to the hair, which on an atomar level gives electrons the ability to change their energy level (how far away from the atom core they are). It can also make it possible for the electron to jump molecul/atom all together and jump to other ones. Where am I going with this? I've read that semi permanent hair dye is sticking to your hair using charges. I dont remember if the hair follicle was charged positive and the dye negativ or the other way around but that doesn't really matter here. Chemical bonds formed on charges are weaker than other, which is why water and shampoo remove it over time. Now going back to the heat and electrons jumping ship ... this can change the charge of a molekul temporarily and "remove" the bond to another charged molecul. So the hair dye molecules are no longer bound the hair. But then why do they just disappear? (they should still be chilling around)... so maybe It's also possible that (depended on the brand and specific dye used) the excess energy could've oxidized the dye molecules and no matter how small the reaction seems it can cause molecules to compelety change color for our eyes. So that would be my guesses but we don't know for sure obviously :>

ainv: pls I need Brad to react to this

Solanum: In the end of your hair dying videos after putting on a new color you’re always like omg I love the result and then a week later you already try to get rid of it again by repeating various damaging techniques aka head&shoulders, vitamin c, colorb4/color remover and last but not least bleaching which you probably do at least once every month. You also seem to wash your very damaged hair pretty often judging by how fast the dyes in your hair always fade. You also straighten your hair and use extensions. You’ll never get hair longer than chin-shoulder length, actually you’ll probably have to shave it all off at some point again if you keep going like that. It’s obviously your hair and you can do what you want, but being that you often say you want to have long hair, I think you really should give your hair some rest for a couple months. You should also try to wash it only once a week and use a lot of moisturizing products without silicones and sulfates.

Samantha Martin: I literally just watched you dye your hair like an hour ago, just got back online to see THIS, like girl wtf lol

Nyu Myu: This is why I don’t like arctic foxes black, it’s runny, and no matter how much you try to avoid it, it will bleed onto every other color in your hair. It also fades to blue ridiculously fast. My hair went from black to blue in 3 days.

Me: I don't know if you can get it but pulp riot blank canvas is a great colour remover. I got my hair from blue to white twas amazing

l'ornithorynque de l'espace: So, I might be wrong, but I think the heat of your straightener opened your hair's fiber where the green color was stunk which allowed it to go out.

Sofe: Oh my god this was so unexpectable lmfao, i wonder if the color changed back after a few hours or is it forever gone??

itsGCbaby: I loved the colours! But also, what colour remover did you use? Cause I need some

Catherine Morrison: Maybe the heat from the straighteners opens the cuticle in the hair and the colour molecules fall out - check your floor for colour molecules x

Krystof Kouril: This girl is insane. I love it

Lauren W: Brad Mondo needs to see this

Practiced Learning: chemical reaction of the bonded sulfer based remover( hence the smell ) The heat reanimates the residue of the sulfer. Let me know if it goes back to the previous color after getting hair wet again in same spot.

Kimberley Louise Smith: I actually kind of love that blue on you!!

Eliana Lopez: Oh I reached that point once, just had to shave it all off!!!!

Neonbeams: I did a bleach bath and still have a bit of colour left in, i was thinking of doing another one but I might just try straightening it instead LMAO

Ciara Merrigan: That’s insane! Heat does wonders!

Aleeza Chamberlin: Crystal I'm begging you, please make your videos louder

Jessica C: I love how it looked in the start of the video, volume and color

Aldo Cortes: Wait what, now you’re almost blonde again? hahaha I just watched the black/ pink dye

Jak to Alga: sorry but the washed-out color on your head is just WONDERFUL, I wish I had that on my head!

Auδi Stγle: NOOOOO. This was your best hair color I liked it very much

Rhinestone Cowgirl: I just watched the black and pink dye videooooooo last night and I loved it lol

Sayo Kurokawa: I feel like the color remover made it even more extreme

Giulia Maffia: Just started watching, I like how your hair faded, it's a look!

Anonymous: I saw Guy Tang explain this once but I don’t remember exactly why it happens lol. It’s because of the formula of the hair dye but other than that idk. Pretty cool tho!

Kagaymiくん: Transylvania is one of the hardest colors to get out of your hair. Not because it's like deep in there but because it literally has so many shades in it- I've had it and when i've bleached it, it turned alll sorts of different colors which is why i stopped using it lol. Cuz it always turned out AWFUL after one bleaching. A true mess lemme tell you.

Giuliana Ruggiero: The color disappearing by straightening means that you’re not using a heat protectant and that you’re straightening to hot

mayssen jjk: 6:13 that's a beautiful color

Danielle B: What is the heat setting for your straightener?

laloela: first time i saw this was when i keratin straightened my friends hair. it worked, but the color looked like shit lmao

Sarah Forshaw: *Immediately plugs in hair straighteners*

Kevin JEWELL: The color molecules enter the hair follicles when you color them..every look at hair under a microscope??? it's like a snake or fish covered in scales...when you heat it up those follicles open up, the scales lift up and the color molecules fall out and either tint the straightener or burn to a brown residue on the straightener or in some cases the curling iron...that is why if you put the hair under plastic and heat it up the color will last longer...because those follicles open up during the dye process then close down afterwards and the molecules of color penetrate deeper into the hair...peroxide forces the scales to open up revealing the underside of the scales and deeper into the hair shaft.... I just realized you have the same brown spots in one eye as I do!!!!!

Trisha Spear: I wonder when you wash it, will it stays the same colour after

Beddy Tear: The fqded cor looks gorgeous though why are you changing it

iza Lopez: You’re so pretty !

salty riz: If anyone ever wants to get rid of this black try color oops that works great. I suggest 2 boxs. The 2nd time really works.

Leighann McGowan: You look best with blonde hair

Veawbpun: Love stop sniffing those chemicals! Direct order! Haha ya
