Hi and welcome back to my channel or welcome if you are new, if you are new and you like makeup beauty, hair or hauls, then please consider subscribing. So today i am going to be doing my own taping hair extensions. I'Ve done this probably three times before. I'M nowhere near perfect, i'm self-taught. The only thing that i have been trained to do is micro, ring extensions and bonds like the single ones, not tape ins, but they are kind of you know. The application is, is all the same with with any extension. It'S just a different way of applying the actual extension itself. However, saying that doing them on yourself is very, very different to doing them on someone else. So please bear that in mind. When you watch this, you know, i'm i'm not perfect. Okay, okay, so the extensions i'm going to be using today are from gugu hair, what a cute name. So this is the packaging that it came in. This is beautiful, absolutely stunning! It'S like a hat box. I think it's beautiful, really nice and then we open up the box. Look at this inside we've got the hair extensions in here, and then they also sent a cute little scrunchie, a sectioning clip which we'll actually use today. I forgot about that. A little pack of lashes, which are actually my kind of lashes, so i don't know if they knew that or if that's just the standard pair they send. We also have a little we've got some spare tapes in there as well, which always come in handy we've. Also got a little guarantee card, which is good so on here it says one clip broken two fish wire problem or three uh hair tape stop work. The hair tape stops working, i guess so yeah. This is kind of like a lifetime accessory replacement guarantee. So obviously, if you break a clip, they'll send you out a new clip if you've got clippings. Uh fishwire problem is the the halo one so obviously they'll replace that and um yeah, the the tapes that i just showed you so yeah. I think that's really really good, and then we also have a little instruction booklet as well, so it goes through because they do all different types of extensions. It goes through. You know how to apply the different types. So there is a page in here to guide you through how to do your own taping extensions. It is actually quite detailed and helpful um, so this bit here in particular, has got a little like um picture demonstration on it, so yeah. If you want to keep that by your side or whatever, just to kind of be your little security blanket if anything, then yeah, but they are actually quite easy to do. If i'm honest, so these are the extensions themselves i have bought four or i was sent for, i didn't buy these. They sent me them to try out so, but you know everything will be honest and i'm not paid for this. It'S just just the product. That'S been sent, so it's not sponsored, so this is the hair itself, which is absolutely beautiful. Now what i have done, they were a little bit too my hair's i'd, say quite a customized color, because i just yeah. It'S got a lot of purple shampoo on it and that's just how i like it personally. So it's quite hard to do a proper color match on my hair. So what i did was, i that's why this bit is lighter, because i didn't want to go near the bonds themselves or the tapes, so i've kind of taken it from here and just on this section i have purple shampoo, but, as you can see, it is Pretty much i can actually get it on my head. It is pretty much a a good match for my own hair, so yeah, that's why i did that. But these are 18 inch taping extensions here i will link them below if you do want to obviously have a look at them yourself, but i have to say really really nice really nice extensions, so they've obviously taken care of the ends as well. They are cuticle correct from root to tip they're, nice and thick. They don't thin off at the end. Yeah i'm actually really liking. These really nice, and these are 100 human hair, they're they're remy extensions right. So the first thing that i'm going to do is just take them out and just give them all a quick brush because obviously they've been in those necks okay. So this is all of the hair all together, so there's loads here, there's 200 grams. This is, as i say, four packs, so you get, i think, it's 25 bonds in a pack so - and i i've got four here so my hair's quite thick - i normally. If i i put extensions in it's only about 200 to 250 grams that i put in so that is going to be absolutely perfect match. Look at that yeah right! I'M really excited to get these in now. I don't know how i'm going to do this on camera. It normally takes me hours, so a lot of this is going to be sped up i'll, probably cut some bits out, but i'll try and get in as much as i possibly can right. So i think this is the best way that i'm going to get this. I know it's a really strange angle, but i'm trying to do it because i've got to sit on the floor to do it and i'm trying to do it so that i can show you the best possible way that i can right. So the first thing i'm doing is obviously just brushing through my hair, making sure i've got no knots or anything and now before i've done these all. I did last night there's no condition on my hair, which is why it looks quite kind of dry really, but i didn't put any condition on my hair, because that can cause the bonds to to slip, and so there's nothing like that on no products afterwards, as Well, all i did was i've got some of this. This is just like a pantene leave-in conditioner and all i did was on the very very ends of my hair, like this. I just went through when it was wet before i blow dried it again. I don't want anything like that on the on the root which is going to affect the the glue in the ones and make it slip, i just needed to protect my ends really because they're, obviously my hair's bleached, so they're quite dry right. So when i do it normally, i use a sectioning comb, but i can't find it like a what they call it. A rat tail comb yeah can't find that i've looked everywhere. I did find a like a a highlighting crochet hook, which is going to be fine. So we're going to use that you could also use like the um tail end of a tintin brush, so yeah i've got that hand just in case as well a couple of sectioning grips. Obviously, i've got the one that i got in the package as well, so that one there me extensions - and this is personal choice - personal preference. You don't have to do this, i do, but you don't have to i've got my straighteners because i like to just kind of i don't hold it on for ages like you would have like you know the um, the single bonds or anything, but i like to Just kind of clamp it a little bit, i just find it makes them stick and last longer for me so yeah my hair gets greasy quite quickly, so i don't know if, if that is what helps them stay because in the past, when i haven't done this, I have found that you know they slip out a lot easier, so yeah up to you. As i say it's not necessary, but it is just what i do right then. So the first thing i'm going to do is i'll start at the bottom and work. My way up, so when you, when you put these in um, you have to do it in kind of like brick laying so you start from the bottom, obviously work your way up to the top at the back, and then i go around and do the sides. Last so if you can imagine um when you do the very bottom one, so that's my straighteners when you do the very bottom one i probably gon na get about three in so you're gon na go one two three and then, when you do the row above That you're going to put one there so like like here, as i say like you, would when you're you're bricklaying, because you do that every day, so i'm just gon na work from one bundle at a time. So the first thing i'm doing, i'm just chopping off the elastic from the top. So this is what each individual piece is gon na. Look like okay, so you've got your tape at the top just here, so this is gon na peel off and then what you need to do is get your own hair, a hair, your own hair, a very thin thin section and you're gon na sandwich it so You'Re gon na take two of these, so your hair is gon na be in here and you're gon na sandwich it getting these as even as possible, which, when you're doing the back on your own hair, is actually quite tricky and then sandwich it in obviously they'll. They won't be slippy, they'll, be gluey and then squish as hard as you possibly possibly can, and then, as i say, if you want to i, i just kind of very lightly go over with the straighteners just to make sure that they're properly sealed you don't have To do that, you can just squish right, okay, so we're going to go ahead and we're going to do this. So the first thing i need to do is just section off my very bottom section, so i kind of just start off with my fingers really and then go in with the comb or whatever you're, using just pop that one literally out away for a minute and Then so the reason that i do this is sometimes i like to wear it up and obviously, if you've got it up, you're going to need a bit of hair at the bottom to cover the bonds. Obviously, when you've got them up so we'll leave that a bit there. So then i'm going to take my first two pieces, so these two and i'm just going to remove the tapes so that i'm ready to apply them. So they kind of come off pretty easy sticker. So they're like that, so that's the glue on there, so you can see they're very, very thin and quite hard to detect. Actually so that's really good right. So i'm going to start off in the middle, so work out where my middle is take. My little comb thing just take a very thin section of hair right like that, so it's a really thin section and i'm going to start off by putting on the bottom. I'M going to take my first tape and then kind of work out where it's going to be, but you want it to be kind of loose-ish from your scalp, so you want it to be as close as you can possibly get it. But when you press down, obviously you want it to be flush to your head and then take your other section and obviously put that on the top and then when you think that you've got them right. Just give them a really good. Squish like that, and as i say it's it's really hard to do the back, it's hard to get them kind of completely, even especially when you're trying to film it as well right. So then i'm just going to take my straighteners. As i say, you don't have to do this, and literally just do that and just squish again fantastic right, so there's my first piece in so i'm going to do the same on either side of that as well. I once felt i'm done with the defense drove back and climbed over your face, hide to show show you that i was a mess, so you were shrugging your shoulders off. That'S what i told you soon enough everything started to change riding on the dizzying heights. I felt like nothing could stop us right. Okay, so there's my first three down. So the next thing i'm going to do is take down the next section. So then, as i say, we're going to kind of do it like a brick laid effect. So i might be able to get four on this row, so i've done that next row so, as i say, bricklayer effect um and then all i'm gon na do now. I'M not gon na film. This i'm just gon na do the rest kind of up to here, so i'm continuing to do the same thing, but as i get towards the top, i'm gon na go in like a triangle, almost so like a christmas tree. So it starts off wide. As i get to here and then i'm going to start using less tapes as i come into here and then obviously we'll do the side. I hope that makes sense. It'S just i'm not going to sit here and do every single row, because the thing with this is you have to take your time when you're doing it yourself, and it takes me about four hours to do my own head and i'm not going to sit and Film for four hours - and it takes me longer as well, because obviously i'm trying to show you normally i've got a mirror here and a mirror here and i'm doing it and i do it a lot quicker. So that's what i'm going to do next. So, as i say, work my way up to the top and then i'll come back and i'll show you the sides. So that's the the back part done now so i've gone up to about here. I don't like to go up too high to my crown, because a i've got some broken pieces of hair here and it doesn't quite cover it and b. I don't like too much bulk up here. I prefer it kind of from there down really so we're going to work around to the sides. Now two bundles left so one for each side right. So i'm going to do this side first, so i'm going to take it from my ear. My nails need doing and i keep catching you know the bottom. I keep catching it all right. Let'S try a different nail just trying to get it say. I'Ve got one right here, so i'm trying to go just above that. So i reckon that is about the right place, so i'm just going to put the one in here. It'S kind of like continuing the line now so my roots are so dark, but yeah there is the line just there. So actually it's not quite there right. Okay, so i'm gon na take a teeny bit of hair, oh, like that, just make sure it's straight pop that one make sure it's right into the root pop it in make sure it's flat and any hair, that's over it. So like loose loose bits. I just kind of grab them, take those away pop them back up there and then take the top one like that, give it a good squish and then, as i say, that's what i do just a quick go over with that, it's hot. So now we're kind of getting a bit of a continuation around there now right, so take that one down what's going on there and i can go just above where i've just put that one so a little bit higher. For me, i find, when i get around to the sides it's just kind of like trial and error and just trying to feel where they need to go really and just just bulking it out. So it doesn't look blocky right, okay, so that's that side done and i've got. I got most of the 25 that i had in i've put a few bits kind of a bit closer to the front, just because i had some kind of bits around here that are a bit shorter in that so i've kind of tried to blend that in A bit more around there taking it around to the back as well, so yeah there's a decent amount in there in it, it's gone in really nice actually and blended - really quite lovely right. So i'm gon na go ahead and do this side now, if it's really random, do this side now as well right, okay! So that's all the hair in it feels blooming heavy i'll. Tell you it's really thick! It'S lovely hair! I'Ve only got four left, which i there was nowhere that i could fit those in i'll. Tell you like six um. So that's three extensions, um yeah there was nowhere that i could fit them in. I did. I did try believe me, but i'll keep them as spares in case any any come out or whatever, but right so. The next thing i need to do is just kind of straighten the you know just to kind of merge it in together a bit and then what i'm going to do is just trim the ends a little bit, i'm not a hairdresser, so yeah. I just literally trim them to look the best that they can just so that they're not like you know all different lengths. I'M standing on the busy make everything so much so that's that done so yeah. I think i've got plenty in right. So the next thing i'm going to do is just run my fingers down the parting. You know, as i'm doing like two plaits or bunches, and then what i do. I i find this. This works all right, just brush, try and angle it down a bit down, and then i kind of take both together. You still can't see there take them both together and just run my fingers down to the end and then brush it again. Just make sure it's straight: it's not going to be perfect because, as i say, i'm not a hairdresser so right and then just flip it around to the back and check it, and then i kind of bring it back round to one side. So i'm not doing this, like you know in a perfect way at all, it's just to try and even it out a bit and then flick it around the other side. It kind of looks well just a bit better, really yeah, and that's it really. That'S. That'S all i do so yeah with regards to the extensions themselves blooming brilliant. I really, i really really like them. I think they're really good they're, lovely and thick they're, really good quality yeah. They feel really really nice and the bonds as well, where the the tape is, it's um. It'S really strong. I can feel it's really strong just from like brushing it afterwards and that so yeah. I don't think that they're gon na budge anytime soon it'd be interesting to see what they're like when i come to take them out. I'Ll, probably do that on camera as well. I hate doing that, but it's one of them things, isn't it but yeah. No, i really really like it. I think it's lovely so afterwards. I just wanted to say: don't wash your hair for four days, um just make sure you stock up on plenty of dry shampoo, so i hope you enjoyed watching and if you did please give me a thumbs up and i'd really appreciate it. I mean the absolute world to me if you did enjoy watching this video and you would like to see more content from me in the future and you would like to subscribe to my channel until then thanks for watching bye. Peter Wall: Hey girl :) as a hairdresser i just wanted to say i think u did a good job and they turned out really well. one tip tho that might help, if u place the top tape on the hair first then flip it up that will it will collect less hair and makes it easier to get the tapes to line up better causing less damage or tangles
