veronica here! today i'm going to be REMOVING COLOR from my old #extensions using #pravana color remover to create a new look (and length ) that blends COMPLETELY with my hair. i used to have #pinkhair years ago and i had the pink hair extensions to go with them. i took really good care of them so the hair was still REALLY HEALTHY . it's more than just hair! rather than throw out perfectly good hair extensions, i'm going to use color remover to remove any of the artificial #hairdye and recolor them to match my new smokey ash beige hair color!

04:53 COLORING the hair

06:06 the FINAL look!

using #colorremover can be tricky. it's a 3-step process that takes a LOT of tender care to do well. there's a special little hair trick that we will show you in our #hairtutorial that will help you to get a seamless look with your extensions. (*HINT* its a trick that'll help you check to make sure you removed all of the old hair color out of the extensions).

lastly, it's important to restore the acid mantle of the hair. we will show you which products to use to rebalance your hair extensions. extensions, unlike the hair on our head, doesn't get the oils from our scalp to help rebalance our hair over time so GOOD PRODUCTS are KEY to restoring the life of your extensions immediately. it only takes one time to burn your hand in the oven! it also only takes one time to burn and damage your hair extensions. using the right products will set them up right to prevent split ends.

Hey beauty activists check out my long luscious hair. I have my extensions in so for today's video. What I'm gon na show you guys is how to gently remove color from extensions so that you can recolor them to match your hair color. So these are my old extensions from when my hair was pastel pink, which was probably five or six years ago. I'Ve never thrown up the extensions, because the hair is still super healthy and very beautiful, but what I know is obviously I can't use the past I'll pick extensions in my hair without changing the color, so with extensions we are not able to process them a ton. They come already processed, so the more you do to them. The worse they're gon na feel. So you really want to limit the amount of color and you're doing, and you definitely don't want to be putting bleach on them and that could really destroy the integrity of the hair and then you have gross extensions. So what I have to do is gently remove this pink color so that I can put my color on top and have a perfect match like this. So the goal of extensions is that you don't want to know they are extensions. They want to blend completely with your hair and look like your hair. These extensions are so perfect. I bet you you don't know where my hair starts and where my hair stops hello. What do you think check this out? Okay, so you see the difference of my lengths versus this, you couldn't even tell hello. What do you think of these weird a so a little bit of housekeeping. First, make sure you guys subscribe to the channel hit that little bell you'll get notified of all our new videos. We do a monthly giveaway where we give away free products, so we can have them shipped right to your door if you're the winner other than that, let's get started, we are going to be using the Pravana artificial color extractor to remove the pink in the hair, Starting with the clarifying shampoo, we're gon na really make sure that this hair gets shampooed out very well. So it's very clean. Now we're going to apply the Pravana color extractor onto the extensions making sure to fully saturate the hair. Once we have this side, all applied, we're going to flip over the extensions and apply to the other side, so that we can make sure that the extensions are saturated thoroughly on both sides to make sure the hair is fully saturated. We'Re then going to comb through the hair and then we're going to emulsify it into the extensions we are now going to process for 20 minutes under heat, so we're gon na have it under the dryer after the processing time. You can see now that a lot of that pink color has been eaten away, which is perfect. This now gives us a great canvas to put the color on top of so we're gon na. Take this to the sink to wash out. It is very important when you're using the Pravana extractor, that you get out all the color pigment that is left. So what happens is when you're using the extractor, it shrinks the color molecule out of the hair and that's what actually is the gentle remover of color? In the hair, so you want to make sure that all that pigment is gone because I've found in the past. If you go to recolor the hair and the pigment is not gone, you can actually reactivate it and re oxidize. It coloring the hair back to what it was so after we do our first shampoo, I'm also going to be doing a developer, rinse shampoo, where I'm putting in a 30 volt developer into the shampoo and emulsifying it into the extensions and what this is gon na Help do is really really make sure to wash away any remaining pigment that is left on the hair. This is a very, very important step to do when you're going to be coloring the hair after using the Pravana extractor, you can take a look at the extensions. All laid out, we have it to a nice blonde color. We have a majority of all that pink out. This is gon na give us a perfect palette for us to put our color on over top. We are now going to color the extensions with half seven half seven to two. This is going to match my hair color. The color that I use on my hair is only a seven to two, but why I'm gon na be mixing the extensions with half 7n. Is because usually my extensions always come out a sheer then they're supposed to, and you have to compare the base of these extensions versus my hair. These extensions are a very light blonde color, so they're not going to have as much warmth and yellow pigment. As my hair will, so by doing half seven and half seven to two, it's gon na give us the perfect color to match my hair, which is seven to two again we're gon na flip, the extensions over. So we can color the other side and make sure the extensions are fully saturated again. We'Re gon na comb through the extensions with the color and emulsify them together to make sure that it's fully saturated all the way through and there's no hair in the extensions that have not been colored. The hair is on process now, so we're ready to wash out take a look at the color. They match perfectly. Let me get them in for you, so you can see how they look with my hair there. You guys have it. That'S how you guys can gently remove color from extensions to recolor them so try that out for yourself, if you guys have extensions at home or you have clients that have extensions and they want to reuse them. You know make sure that you check that they're, healthy and the hair is still good, but this is a great technique. You can use to remove some of that color um. Mandy Holbert: Love your videos. Im trying to figured out what to try next. My natural hair is difficult to match kinda like denise from full house less reds tho, im biracial 3c some 3b curly, when i used to buy my weaves in store id get a neutral like 4 with least red possible or dark 6 thats not chestnut . Depending on which swatches im being matched with they always say between 4,6,8 sooo confusing to me, Its like a medium ash at top and light brown, like 4 or 6 na brown with like sunkissed 8 brown blonde lites....The chesnut color is what i always try to avoid when coloring my extentions since my hair is like ash, dull, low lite reflecting...i have used wella 4a to match but its a bit to dark with strong red undertones in it. And using light browns ive come out with chestnut . ... Soo the questions is, If bundles where bleached to a orange yellow between 7/8 level. How do i avoid the brassy chesnut light brown with out going a shade darker which sometimes drabs my skin tone out?? (I would love that bronde (mushroom brown i think its called) color that FINALLY exist LOL bcuz thats what ive always called my natural hair color lol def need a professional for my extentions like that tho.)

KMRA PanMedia: Can I just sent you my set of extensions and have you remove the color? They came waaasy too red and need to be a light Auburn... Can you do it and how much?

Noel Thompson: This is the color mine are and I want them to be lighter brown with Carmel highlights.

Abbey Matthews: I have extensions I wanna remove colour from but they were like high lighted and with dark and blonde. If I use colour remover on them will it effect the blonde?

samantha quesnel: Hey hey Helppp i just got extensions put in and yikessss they dont match ,the extensions are like purply-grey toned level 8 and my hair is actually a level 9 or 10 and my hair is grey how do i get my extensions to match my hair i dont want to go dark 8 is too dark for me and also hating the purply tone in the extension.
