Welcome back, oh welcome back uh, we always say welcome back, should we be saying something else: no, hey there. Howdy y'all today we're having another session, we're having another sit down, but it's gon na be a good one, because casey is doing a little. I mean i don't know how good it's going to be: no, no, but she's going to be talking about her logs. Yes, i'm going to be talking about my extensions in case. You have ever thought about getting them or wanted them um i'll talk about like the cost of keys, pros and cons. I guess yeah, basically that so, let's get into that um. Okay. So basically, the kind that i have in my hair is sew-in hand-tied extensions. These are there's like different kinds. You get tape in bead or hand tied, i have hand tied, which means that i have wefts. Should i show them. I went yeah, i don't know if you can see, but this is like my weft in there i have two wefts of hair yeah like i have one row and then another row at the crown of my head um to install them. It was like a seven hour day, which sounds crazy. It probably took four hours to actually install the extensions, but then i also got my hair cut and colored before that, so like in total, i was there for seven hours, so if you're gon na get them installed and your hair cut in color you'll, be there All day, so that was like very time consuming, but when i went to go, get them moved up, it only took an hour, the hair she said lasts about a year and a half if you take really good care of it and the hair itself. My extensions are bellow haven, hair extensions, it's real hair. I got two packs of hair, they recommended. I get three, but i wanted to start out with two because i felt like two. Like i don't know, i didn't want to be so thick that it was really noticeable that i had hair extensions, because my hair is naturally fine. I feel like if you want, like really really thick get three packs, but two packs for me worked really well and i felt like it looked a little bit more natural each pack of hair was 360 dollars. The girl that i went to i'll link the bio she's local to colorado she's in lakewood. Her name is victoria at sister b salon. She did such a good job um, but i she did the actual service of installing them for free, because it was only her. Second time you were like a little trial or a little yeah like i was like yeah. I was like practice, but honestly she she killed it yeah. You would never know that she was never yeah. That was her second time yeah. I think in general like when i was looking it up, it is like a thousand dollars all together the hair. You only have to purchase once like right. You don't have to purchase that and that'll last you like a year and a half right and then you purchase like the actual, like labor, like installation, yeah, gotcha, so upkeep for the hair um. You get move ups every eight weeks and then washing the hair is like takes a little bit to get used to, because now you have like these rows in your head, but i found a good way that works for me, which is separating in between the wefts. So like i'll separate in between my wefts put all my top hair on top of my head and then shampoo my bottom row and then rinse that out and let down my top row and then do that and shampoo. That'S how i wash my hair and then they tell you to make sure that you never go to bed with it wet so um. If i'm washing in the morning. It'S obviously fine. I can just air dry all day, but if it's towards the end of the night all blow dry, my roots, so it gets nice and dry and to go to bed. They say that it's best to sleep in like a braid. So i try and do that before i go to bed just put my hair in like a low braid. Another thing is they tell you to keep the hair really moisturized, because it, although it is real hair, it's not connected to your scalp, so it doesn't get the oils that are on your scalp. You know to the hair yeah, so it's really important to keep the hair really hydrated. So every time i wash my hair, i do a hair mask on it and then make sure i'm putting like an oil and heat protectant spray that is also hydrating. So just try and put as much like hydrating products on it as possible. Okay, so you don't want to use purple shampoo on your extensions. I think you can use it like, maybe once every two months, if you feel like they're, getting a little brassy but they're also like way more porous, so i did use rimmel shampoo, don't tell my hair, i'm really sorry because i was like. Oh, they look brassy. I want to like just you know: brighten them up and it takes like crazy to it. So, like my hair was like gray, purpley, wow yeah, so wait. I wonder if you take the purple shampoo and like dilute it. Oh yeah, you could definitely like if you used like the tiny tiniest bit and just diluted it yeah. That'S a good idea next time. I'Ll definitely do that not just like go straight in with it go ham, yeah. Also i'm more mindful of my hair. Now, like i want to try and take care of it to extend the life of the extension, so i bought like a silk pillow case um. I have like a hair filter that i bought for my shower. You did. I did yes, definitely doing way more. For my hair than i ever did when um well before you had really low maintenance haircase. Oh my gosh, like her hair, is naturally straight. She can literally just shower pop right out and it looks like it's like done ugh. I wouldn't say that it never really. I never did anything with it. Okay, so i wrote down some pros and cons of having them too, and i said the cons are basically that it's expensive. It is like an investment. So definitely, if you're thinking about it, um, maybe save for it a little bit and just be prepared. You know that they are like an upkeep and at a cost um another cons. I said it gets kind of tangled a little bit more. I mean these are 24 inch extensions. I should have said that too so, they're very long, so i have to make sure like, like we went to the x games this week and i brought a brush because, like being casey, what's our brush literally, like literally we get to dinner, i know this is Why but i got ta, you know you got ta, keep them untangled because they will get tangled they're very long, um, so yeah you just be mindful of that. Keep a brush on you um and then another con i said, was that maybe they're potentially damaging. I mean i'm sure it's not the best thing for your hair, but um, i'm hoping that like counteracting it with doing all these, like good things for my hair that i wasn't doing before will help if i end up bald after this i'll, definitely do a follow-up And let you know pros, and you only have to style it once a week like i said, like i'll shower and wash it once a week and then curl it and then for the rest of the week. I'M pretty much good like i don't really have to touch it. You can, you know, touch it up and stuff like that, but for the most part the hair really holds a good curl they're, not as high maintenance, as i thought they were going to be. I was really worried because i went from like literally zero and i thought i was going to go to like 100 with like having to do my hair every day and like that, would have been like a huge overnight change, but yeah really just like yeah. It'S going to take you longer to wash your hair and style it, but you only have to do it once a week and it like the payoff is worth it because it like looks good and then yeah. Those were like my pros, my cons. I really felt like i flew through that phone yeah you're laying down work on that. Do you have any recommendations for people who are doing like research and finding their salon or finding their like extensions? That yeah? That'S a good point. I really do like this brand of hair. I'Ve never done clip ins or anything like that beforehand. It really does feel like real hair yeah. So i'm not like the most versed in extensions in general, but to me i feel, like this looks really natural and feels really natural too. You can go online and buy the hair yourself and take it to your hairdresser to install like you. Don'T have to be in colorado to have this hair i'd say when you're looking for someone to do it. I really trusted my hair girl and i think it's worth spending the extra money with someone that you feel like is really good and talented and will do a good job because it's an investment, so you don't want to have to like take it all out and Redo it again with someone else, so even if they're more expensive, i think, if you're going to invest in this hair and like doing this, then it's worth it to go to someone really good, even if they are like a little bit more pricey kind of thing. I have another question: does it hurt? Oh that's, a good question. No, it didn't hurt when you first get it in it'll, be itchy. That'S the only thing: it'll be a little itchy because, like your hair is getting used to it, but now it's not itchy at all. It definitely doesn't hurt. Is it heavy? Does it feel heavy in your head? No, not at all it's very light, like you kind of just don't realize that it's there, yet you don't realize that it's here. Unless you touch my head, then you can feel it. I love it. I think that it's really pretty. It'S really fun to have it. If you've always wanted like really long hair or even if you just have like a special occasion, yeah like if you're getting like married or something i feel like it would be like a cool thing. One thousand also you wouldn't have to get like the hand tied soda and like if you're yeah, you could probably just try like clippings or something like that. But if you want like to just have a little fun with some inches, you know what i mean like.
