Wig Size Guide

Just as you would consider the size for a new top or pair of shoes before you buy, considering correct wig measurements is essential for a comfortable fit. If you are buying one of the many gorgeous wigs available from Simply Wigs, one of your first priorities should be looking up how to measure your head for a wig. This is a straightforward procedure that will ensure your wig measurements are right for you. We’ll walk you through the wig measurements process to keep it simple!
Wig Size Measurements
Wig size measurements can be a little overwhelming at first with the range of sizes out there. So, before we show you how to measure your head for a wig, here is an overview of the general wig sizes and what they mean.
AVERAGE
Between 54cm to 57cm (21.25 to 22.5 inches) – We would say about 90% of our customers are an average wig size, so you will find that there is more of a choice if you are measuring within this size.
PETITE
These wigs are between 51cm and 54cm (20 to 21.25 inches). We currently have around 60 wigs in our petite wig size range. Remember you will have up to an inch give to adjust at the nape.
LARGE
Larger than 57cm (22.5 to 24 inches). We currently have only a few wigs available in a large wig size wig size. Keep checking our website though, as we intend to increase this number very soon.
How to Measure For a Wig
To get your wig measurements, take a soft tape measure and measure from your front hairline, round to just above the ears, then round to where your neck bends, under the occipital bone, (which is also called the Bone of Knowledge!) And then back round to the front hairline from where you started.

We would advise that if you are measuring on top of your natural hair, ensure it is as flat as possible to give you a more precise measurement.

The tab provides you with detailed product information to check the wig sizes currently available for your favourite wig. It also gives you colour availability and the approximate dimensions of the nape, crown and fringe to make sure you’ve got a wig that fits you in all the right places.
Getting the right wig size is important and we hope you feel more confident with how to measure wig size, as it will make a difference to how comfortable you feel. If you are wearing a wig that is ill-fitting and doesn’t provide a snug and comfortable fit, or it is so tight that it is giving you a headache, it will sit all alone in your cupboard feeling unwanted and unloved.
