Hi, I'm sure you guys have all heard of an anime film which came out last year called your name. It is the highest-grossing anime, so that's right knocked out Studio Ghibli, and it is just so so beautiful. I just it's one of my all-time favorite anime movies. Okay, guys and not saying something: it's a gorgeous film, that's directed by Makoto Shinkai, who is also directed films like 5 centimeters per second and voices from a distant stars. So, following the trend of beautiful films, here's another one for you, your name is a gorgeous and emotional anime movie, which touches on themes like state and time and body swapping, because you know that's always a fun thing to throw into an anime anyway. Funimation is releasing this film, along with an English dub, so they're bringing it over here to North America and to celebrate the release of this movie. Here, I'm going to be showing you guys a little cosplay tutorial. Sony Suho is one of the main characters of this film and her hair is a very important and symbolic feature of her character. It'S this little braided ponytail bun up using it's super cute, and it's super easy to do so in today's video I'm going to be showing you how to achieve her super iconic and super kawaii hairstyle. Let'S get started. The first thing I'm going to do is section out two parts at the front of my hair: her hair's a little bit shorter than mine, but I'm going to make it work. Next, I'm going to split my hair into two parts with a regular center parting down the back now her hairstyle is essentially just two braids that are crossed along the back of her head. My hair is been very layered, but if you have parts that are sticking out just run some hairspray over them, so your braids are smooth okay, so next you're going to need some hair pins. Now I have really big hair, so I used about 400 of them. First, I crossed the right braids over to the left side and pinned it down, so it stayed up. Then I wrap the left braids over to the right side, make sure everything is pinned down, so your hair doesn't come out loose. The tails of the braid should line up together at the top, so it's like a little crown circle same next, take an elastic band and tie the ends of the braids together, so it kind of forms a little ponytail now this is the basis of her hairstyle, But you're going to want to have the key defining element which is her red ribbon. Simply just take a red ribbon, wrap it around the ponytail and tie a little bow at the top. So this is it. This is the completed. Look, it's actually pretty cute and I love her little messy braided bun thing. I think it's a really fun and cute way to bring your hair, because I don't really do anything special with my hair. I normally wear it in a bun anyway, so maybe I'll start trying out this look in the future, because maybe it'll make me into a real anime girl but yeah. Thank you all so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial be sure to check out your name when it's released, because it's an absolutely gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous movie and you will love it and, if you're a big fan of Studio, Ghibli films, I guarantee you will love this film. Just make sure you have a box of tissues on the side, because, if you're, like me, you'll, probably be bawling your eyes out anyway, yeah I'll catch. You guys in the next video see ya.

Kimberly Saavedra: Gracias se lo haré a mis hermanitas cuando crezcan

Emilio Mtvo: thank you very much, my sister loved the hairstyle

honey bee: for tips, my hair is ultra mega thick and in order to do this look a little simpler, after using a few bobbies to make the hair stay crossed, not up, I take out a small portion of hair from the back and pull it into the pony tail. this will hold it up on the stand, just make sure it isn't too small, unless you're immune to hair pulling pain. then just wrap the excess around your ponytail and pin it down, or tuck it under. it made this process sooo much faster so I didn't have to use half a pack of bobby pins.

Tiffany Zhu: This is super late but I saw this video and it looked decently simple to replicate but I am horrifically bad at using bobby pins and having thick hair doesn’t help. I found a way to do it without pinning your hair up. It’s almost exactly the same. What you do is, when splitting your hair in half to braid it, take some hair from in between the braids near where you want the “ponytail” to stick out. Don’t braid that part. Now braid the pigtails and lift them up to where the strand of leftover hair was. It will hold up the braids. Depending on how your hair is cut, you might need to fold your hair in half like a bun so that part isn’t longer than the rest. If you want it to look cleaner you can fold the strand of hair beforehand and use a small elastic to secure it instead of securing everything together with one elastic. I hope this makes sense lol it saved me a lot of time because I have no idea how to use bobby pins. It may look like you also have a small bun in your hair but it still looks good and it’s better than having a super long strand of hair sticking down the middle. Warning - this only works with shoulder length hair, so hair roughly the same length or shorter than mitsuha’s. The longer the hair, the heavier it is and the looser it will be.
