What You Need To Know About Undertones in Wigs!

Hair color gives the world insight into your personality. Making the right decision about color can be confusing, not to mention frustrating amidst a cluster of information that seems ever changing. In reality, the most flattering hair color for you is the one that accentuates your attributes to make you look natural.

*When the undertones of a wig are the same as the undertones of your complexion, the wig color will complement your skin giving you a natural and flattering look. There are 2 parts to consider about your complexion to help you find the most flattering wig color for you: surface tone and undertone.Surface tone is the color of your skin. Is it ivory, peachy, almond, bronze?Undertone is the color your skin gives off under natural light.

Wigs Colors and Undertones

          1. Are your undertones warm or cool? Figuring this out will require objectivity since two people can have the same skin tone but different undertones. Consider a color wheel with six colors divided into two groups. On the left side are cool colors which are calm and soothing: green, blue, and violet. And on the right side are warm colors which are bright and vivid: yellow, orange and red. Does your skin give off a green, blue, and violet hue, or is it more yellow, orange and red?

    2. Roll up your sleeves! Under natural light, look at the veins on the inside of your wrists. Are they blue or green? If they look blue, you have cool undertones. If they look green your undertones are warm. Now that you’re more familiar with your complexion, which color will look best on you?

Complexions with warm undertones will look best in a wig color with warm undertones like orange-reds, champagne, and golden blondes.
