It'S your man alex and in this video i'm going to be showing you guys the all-around best self haircut during quarantine. This includes the fade on the sides and back of my head, as well as cutting about one inch off the top of my head, using hair. Cutting scissors to start with the self haircut i'm going to be using my wall, super taper, 2 clippers with no guard and the lever closed to put in my initial guideline around my head. I'M going up about one inch and then creating a slight downward angle as it reaches around my occipital ridge. On the back of my head make sure your guidelines are as straight as possible to help make things easier when you begin fading in the hard lines. Do the exact same thing on the other side of your head, using your clippers with no guard and the lever closed, always double check your work and run the clippers through your head a few times before you move on to the next guideline. This will ensure you didn't miss any loose hairs or leave any hair patches now using the number one guard with the lever closed we're going to go up about one inch from our initial guideline, make sure you keep the same exact distance from the initial guideline. All around your head, you want your haircut to be even all around so make sure you go up one inch on the right back and left side of your head from that initial made guideline. Do the exact same thing on the other side of your head using the number one guard and the lever closed if you guys need help understanding how i utilize my mirrors, when cutting my hair check out my self haircut mirror setup with the fade video, i will Leave the link to this video in the card section in the upper right corner using the number two guard with the lever closed go up another one inch from our previous guideline with the number one guard again. The keys here are to really make sure number one. Your lines are as perfectly straight as possible and number two. Your lines are one inch apart from the previous guideline, so using two duck clips, i'm going to be separating the size and top of my hair at my part line. This will ensure none of the hair on top of my head gets cut when using my clippers and thinning shears still using the number two guard lever closed, we're going up one inch from our previous guideline on the other side of our head. I know those lines are looking real crispy, but we're not finished yet using your clippers with no guard and now the lever halfway open, we're going to be taking out the hard line from our initial guideline make sure you're flicking up and away from your head to Get rid of the hard line do the exact same thing on the other side, using no guard with the lever, halfway, open, flick up and away to blend in that hard line, a good tip would be to use your other hand to pull down your skin and Ear to really stretch out your skin, this will make going up your head with the clippers a lot smoother now using the number one guard with the lever. Halfway open, flick up and away from your head to get rid of the next hard guideline. Keep using your mirrors and take it slow a lot of you. Cutting your hair have probably never cut your own hair before so make sure you take it slow, stay patient and really focus on what you're doing do the exact same thing on the other side of your head, using the number one guard with the lever halfway open Flick up and away from your head to get rid of the next hard guideline using the number two guard with the lever halfway open we're going to flick up and away to get rid of the final hard guideline for some of you. This step may not matter, for example, if you do not want a lot of hair by your part line, you can just run the number two or number three guard all the way up into your part line, to give yourself the undercut look. But for me i always like to leave my hair longer by the part line to give my hair a smoother transition, as it falls from the top to the sides of my head. So now busting out my thinning, shears and comb, i'm going to be blending in the hair by my part line, as well as removing some of the bulk. So my hair can have a more natural look. So a quick update for everyone on what's going on with my life, i've been working non-stop on a project for the past few weeks, and i plan on finishing this project sometime by the end of june. This project is really going to help every single one of you in so many ways, you'll be learning practical, hands-on information that has taken me over 10 years to build up and condense into a powerful educational platform. You guys will be able to call yourself a self-haircut expert and start saving hundreds of dollars every year and potentially making hundreds of dollars every year, cutting your own hair, cutting your friend's hair and your family's hair. So i'm really excited to share this project with all of you and i will keep you updated on its progress as the weeks go on boy we're looking crispier than crisp so right now, i'm going to be completely wetting, my hair on top of my head and Then wring out the excess water using my hands and a paper towel. If you guys haven't seen my original self haircut video, it's got about 6.4 million views on it, and this was the last time i cut more than one inch off the top of my head. I'Ll leave this video linked in the card section above, but just like in that video i'm going to be creating a middle part down my head to work on what i call the perimeter guideline. If you cannot do this properly, you will completely jack up your hair, but remember that's why i'm here to help you not make that mistake always cut your hair on a 45 degree angle, so your hair is longer in the front and shorter in the back, like I just mentioned i'm cutting about one inch off the top, so i'm doing the same thing with the perimeter guideline now using my perimeter guideline, i'm going to start on the back left corner of my head and then work my way over using the same guideline to The right side of my head using the perimeter guideline to create a new guideline in the middle of your head and make sure when you are cutting your hair cut straight across to make all of the hair completely. Even then, once you finish, the back of your hair work, your way to the middle and the front of your head using the existing perimeter guideline in their given sections. If you guys, like this video, so far, make sure you follow me on instagram at alex kuras, i post a lot of funny behind the scenes and i always do my best to answer any questions you may have for me about your hair and your self haircut. As you can see, i'm running my hands through my hair double checking my work to make sure every section is even and has that nice graduation from short in the back to longer in the front boy, you already know what i'm about to say. My hair is looking super fresh and that fade is barber status. But i want to finish this haircut off with a nice style and i will be using my quicksand and gravity paste from hans de fuco. Taking about a pea-sized amount of each rub. The product into your hands to really emulsify and heat it up then start running the product. All around your head, don't be afraid to smack yourself around and get the product into the roots of your hair. So here's the before and after of my haircut, i'm looking forward to seeing you guys cut your hair, just like i did here. I can't wait to share with you guys my project that's coming real soon and if you guys like it, please give it a thumbs up. If you're new to my channel make sure you guys hit that subscribe button down below. I appreciate it so much, but thank you all so much for watching and i'll catch you next time. Peace,

Imam Baikhaqi: I tried this, and the only thing that fade is my confidence

Richard Pea: This is the tutorial that I use for my haircut. My wife loves it and so do I. The only thing that I would advise is that I have the half guard and 1.5 guard so I don't move the lever half way. Maybe mentioning that in your videos could help some people achieve some better results

Dakota Rising: This weekend I’ll be cutting my own hair, I’ve completed about 5 haircuts over the last few months and each time I’m getting better and better...If I could give anyone advice I’d say don’t get frustrated, this is a skill and once you’ve mastered it it’ll boost your confidence and give you that attitude that you can learn anything...Good luck guys and don’t give up

The real Controller: Thank you for the video. It was less confusing than a lot of the other ones I found. I tried it the first time today and actually didnt screw it up :D The first line was a bit problematic but at one point I started to feel really confident with the machine, even switching hands depending on which side I was working on. From there it was a lot of fun.

Mohammed Siddique: I attempted this before and failed. But after watching a good few times I can now say I cut my own hair from now on. And that also saves me a lot of money. Thanks Alex

Miguel Ramos: This video is awesome! I've been cutting my hair for a few years now but this video made it a lot easier to cut... specially doing it myself with the side mirrors.

Rouge Ninja: You know what. I had ALL day to sit and practice this and it came out pretty decent actually. Im impressed. I really took my time. About 4 hours. It just takes time and patience. Dont rush or over do anything. Dont get overconfident. Keep replaying the same part 1000 times if you have to.

BABY ALEX: I've been cutting my hair for about 2 months now thanks to Alex's videos and I'm just cutting it regularly with no fancy techniques or whatever and now I feel much more confident in cutting my hair thanks to Alex, keep up the work my guy!

Ali Alsaffar: So easy so clear. Tried it at home and it worked!! Thank you so much!!

TristanDale14: this was my first video from you Alex, pretty informative and straight to the point! i just started trying to cut my own hair since all of us are in this lockdown! my only question is, did you zero gap your clippers? other than that, well done on a very nice video! Thanks for the tips!

Stuart Reid: Just watched this. And wow. I can finally cut my own hair without it looking too complicated. Those Barbers are sure gonna miss me. Thanks a lot for the tutorial. Simple and straight forward. Easy to watch video.

Dave Stillman: Alex makes great video tutorials as was able to cut my own hair using men’s buzzer with guards, a comb and scissors to keep my hair looking decent. You rock, man.

Pavan Patel: Hey man! I tried this haircut and the hair cut came out amazing! I self cut my hair for the first time and was little scared but as you told in the video to take little time and that really helped! Thanks for the video!!

Rory Starreveld: I used your vid for cutting my hear during the lockdown in the Netherlands but now I'm really into it and keep doing it. It's actually fun! Thanks mate!

Huzzy 7: Dude you are the man! I’ve purchased the same clippers as you. I took around 3+ hours, but my fade was a bit dark and not completely faded. I received that feedback from family. I mean it’s not that but it could’ve been worse

CRYPTONITE: Thanks bro, I went from cutting my hair for many years to getting it cut weekly by my barber .. now that I’m quarantined I been practicing weekly ... I got my groove back just like Stella did. Thanks man..

Johnny Rotten: So I did this haircut, following step by step, i adjusted the clipper sizes though as I don't like doing an almost bald fade - just short. My wife says its the best haircut ive ever gotten. Couldn't believe I did it myself. AWESOME steps. My arms got tired cutting the top though

Metallkopf86: I have always cut my own hair but ALWAYS struggled with the top length.... I have jacked it up recently and look forward to adopting your technique when trimming the top as I feel this will drastically change things for the better. Thanks so much for making this video!

CRIPTOCOCO: I was enjoying a lot. I get my hair cut by myself, and I've problems setting the mirrors, isn't easy to see below, but you gave me auto confidence, and I need a thinning scissors, I look how you use it and it seems awesome. Tks for sharing. ❤

artiw0w: I do cut my side hair like this every 2 weeks since 6 months now. For me and my clippers, it works the best to take out my guidelines with the lever completely open for the 1 & 2 guards. Half way closed would take off too much. The very first guideline I take out with my lever first halfway closed, then 3/4 closed. You need to try different lever levels for your very own clipper but overall, this guide is genius. BIG Thumbs up!

MC: Thats a pretty cool self hair cut bro. I like how you really simplified it. Made it so easy to understand compared to hundreds ive seen on YouTube that couldn't. Keep up the good work and videos coming. Thank you brother. Stay blessed!

Andy Johnson: That’s is a damn fine hair cut mate ! I’ve been using wahl 100 series but just upgraded to a magic clip by wahl and a Buddha trimmer . Loving cutting my own hair and doing a damn fine job of it and cutting other hair too all happy ! Thanks to you and all the other you tubers out there doing similar things ! Much love

Adolfo Valdez: This was the very first tutorial I seen to cut my own hair in quarantine lol. Now I got inspired cutting friends and family. Now almost 2 months in barber school

Marius Gardelli: Nice! A couple of suggestions if you don't mind: 1. Make your initial bald line lower around the back of your head, so you can space out your guidlines a little bit more. 2. Use #0 open, instead of #1 closed on your second guidline and then #1.5 closed on your third. Your haircut will look even better.

I’m Anonymous: This guy did a better fade than most barbers.

Robin: You’re very talented and you teach me a lot. Thank you.

Million Seeker: Good detailed video man, i'v cut my hair 5 times already since this corona shutdown and each time i get more comfortable and a bit better. Keep up the quality vids

Tiefgründiger Name: Been cutting my hair on my own since that corona crap started. With no experience whatsoever i found it very useful to start from top to bottom, it leaves hair for mistakes, you can always go shorter. BUT: It definitely takes longer, since you really gotta pay attention to finding the right line.

Angel Uribe Caller: Hi Alex. Another great video! I have natural curly hair. Before I started watching you videos I cut my own hair. I did the mistake of cutting the back, middle and front of my hair with scissors with my hair completely dry. Now my hair every time I wake up or after I wear a hat or beanie is really messy, disorganized and elevated (especially in the back) I had never had this problem before (obviously I used to go to the barber and this was the first time I cut my own hair with scissors) My questions are, do you recommend me to cut my hair again this time with my hair wet to fix this problem? Is better if I use my clippers to cut the back, middle and front of my hair to let it grow again? What tips and recommendations can you give me to cut with scissors my curly hair? Also, I would like to give you a few ideas for the next videos: 1.- You can show us how to take proper care of our haircut tools. For example, how to oil the blades of the clippers, when to do it and how often. How to take care of our trimmers. 2.- You can give us tips and suggestions of how to take care of different kind of hairs. For example, my hair is naturally curly. What kind of shampoo, conditioner and hairstyles would be the best to highlight my curls. 3.- I have some friends who also want to cut their own hair. But, they want to use the clippers to cut their back, middle and front. Evidently you cut these parts of your hair with scissors like me. You can show us with your clippers off how is the proper way to cut this parts, the technique, where to start, things to consider, etc. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions Alex. I always share your content. Keep it coming!

Paul Diaz: I really enjoyed cutting my own hair! I did better than I thought I would have done! Saved me some money and I look good!

Fight Thoughts: I was going so well and one mistake leads to over correcting the mistake, and now I need a hat . Thanks tho.

Paul Turcott: Did this yesterday after getting proper clippers with a lever in the mail. I'm so proud of my cut! I had one attempt before this using cheap clippers that don't have a lever, so I did a longer fade that wasn't bald that time. This time was the first attempting to do a bald fade. Just FYI it took about 2 hours to get a result I was happy with. So make sure you have enough time especially on your first try. Helps a lot to have a self cut mirror (trifold mirror). It's mad scary at first and completely disorienting to cut hair using mirror, but if you take your time, you can do it. One thing that helps is to look away from the mirror sometimes to get your bearings, go where you think you should go with your hands without touching the clippers to your hair, and then certify by looking back in the mirror where your hands are. Hard to explain, but I think it helps train your brain on how to use the mirrors in reverse orientation.

Daniel Kerr: Thank you for the video I tried it and it was my first time cutting my own hair and it actually came out perfect wasn't really hard when you think about it video was clear and helpful.

Carlos Favaron: This is by far the best tutorial I've seen for a faded, my wife was struggling finding the right video. Thank you so much!!!

João Maia Gonçalves: I've been using this tutorial with progressively better and better results. Thanks for the video!

Athos: I’m dropping a like cuz I just finished my first ever self haircut and I’m super happy with my effort. Thanks a lot man!

Thomas 248: Great video Alex! Was just wondering, the first time you cut your hair how long did it take you? Was it a decent cut?

Rubia CarasscoArora: Tried this on my husband, the results are outstanding, thank you for such an easy tutorial, kudos.

DL Thomas: This is your best yet! I especially like the full fade. You do this so well! Thank you!

Just a Lauren: These are great for how to cut my sons hair. Thank you! Their fades look a lot better.

Jesse Rajala: This is awesome tutorial and I have tried it couple of times already and the result have been decent. It is so much harder to see those guidelines because my hair color is so light, would be awesome to see same tutorial with light color hair.

MAJ: I like the perimeter guideline you brought up. i've been cutting my hair for 10 years exact now and sometimes like to go to barber shops just to watch how they do things. Still faster just doing it myself and free touchups haha

eerawza: i have actually cut my own hair last two weeks and it turned out not so bad but after watching this video i am inspired to do more and sharpen my skills. thanks to you dude!

calumbir: I use a tight strap around my head for the first straight line, works like a charm :)

Abr Balk: Damn that is so lit bro I’ve been cutting my bestfriends hair for almost 2 years and I always did it unnecessary hard but your video taught me how easy it is to cut a simple fade. Thanks a lot bro

Carlo: Great job Alex. Your tutorial gives me confidence to cut my own Thanks

Creator 19: Because this simple e short video I improved a lot my "self service" haircut. Thanks man

Philly EaglesBowl: Bought clippers for $50 and have given myself probably 10 haircuts getting better each time. Used to pay $25 every 2 weeks for a cut now cutting every week. Definitely not perfect but improving and most wouldn’t see my mistakes. The back is the hardest

Abdullah omar: Hello Alex, i really learned a lot from your videos, thanks a lot . I've a question, my hair trimmer machine degrees are (1,2,3, 5,7,9,11,...). So how could I make the fade precision in the sides ?!.

Luis Velasco: First time cutting my hair after watching your Quarantine Haircut Video and man what a clean fade. Watched this video to see how I can go about cutting the top. Prices for a haircut are now up in the 40s with a beard up to 50. Now only taking appointments 60-75 No tanks

Wata Tanka: I actually tried this thanks to your video and i have to say i did a pretty good job. Thanks man

Raul Gamino: You are man Alex! I needed some help on my fade and cutting the top from long to short. Thank you!

thyQuis: First time cutting my own hair, it went smoothly

jitesh kumar: I started with your teaching , and now ended with no hair on my head ‍♂️

Sebastian Hernandez: Respect for the hard work Alex...keep grinding

?: I tried the original video. It was the absolutly first time I had ever cut my own hair and it turned out allrigth. I was quite surprised actually. thx a lot Alex :)

Elmer A. Mares: For those of you saying you failed when trying to follow along, don't get discouraged. Every one that cuts their own hair has been there. I've been cutting my hair for a while now and I still mess up every now and then. Luckily my hair grows so fast that I only have to deal with it for about a week.

jack herrer: This video is 10/10 second time doing it and came out so good ty ty

Patrick McNulty: Cool man. Perfect and professional. I'll be coming back for more tips. I don't have to worry so much about the top of mine as there is very little left. Thanks for your trouble in going to the effort. Regards. Patrick from Ireland.

Captain Wormburner: The title of this video isn't lying. This really is the best self haircut on YT. The fade is both quick to do, and good looking. Never tried the top part, but a no 8 buzz works great for me Edit: No. 8 is okay, but the best guard for the top is 1 1/4"

Lord Xanth: Not only excellent self-cut but also impressive camera work

Xavier Sales: Complete beginner here. I use the thinning scissors to cut the top hair, gives it a textured look and a lot more forgiving for a beginner

Leanne Mccoy: This is the best self hair cut I've ever seen Great work. I feel like I learned a fade the best with this tutorial a d I would do some others not my own

Ethan Marshall: My hair literally came out perfect lol had the same clippers come to find out while watching the vid also. Dope video !

scott1747: You make it look so easy.

Nathan Salinas: big props to this guys, he may not be a pro but he’s one hell of a teacher. also just incase you see this, what clippers are you using? just curious haha

Michal Bolkanowicz: Done it today! It’s not ideal, but I will still practice :) cheers for the video!

Carlos Hidalgo: Watched a couple self cut videos and this was the easiest to follow. Thanks

Chevado Campbell: the First ever selfcut video I've seen that actually show all the steps. Great video.

Marcus: So basically You take guard 1 & 2 First make the lines with the 0 guard Use #1 an inch above your line Then use #2 an inch above that Then use 0.5 underneath the 1 to get rid of the hard lines Same for #2 guard but this time with 1.5 Optional: use guard 3 above the #2

ray sora: Best hair tutorial channel, easy to understand. Thanks bro!

Naghmara: I'm about to try this on my fiancee, graduating from just maintaining the bottom of his undercut, wish me luck!! Edit: Yeah no, he's off to the hairdresser tomorrow. But hey, I had fun.

X caliburg: Good job man teaching us all ! Keep it up!

Tom Chou Chou: HOLY! MOLY! This is sooo helpful! This is soooo amazing. I'm gonna do it now!!

Cas Martin: Maybe it's because I'm black, but I understood everything up to cutting your hair with scissors and using sections and guidelines to trim and cut your hair lol. A great video and your instructions were super clear. I've been cutting myself for about 3 years now but still picked up some tips, even though we have different hair types. Nuff respect

Rodrigo S.: This is awesome, I hate waiting for haircuts, this is a time saver I'm going to start fading myself

MrOmniFicent: Just tried this on my cat, worked great! he loves his new haircut!

Michael Turner: This is a great tutorial - I’ve been coming back for nearly 2 years now thanks

▪ C H I L D o.G.▪: With your help i learned it, it's so good feeling! God bless you!

Emmanuel Martínez: Muy bien explicado te felicito y lo voy aplicar. Felicidades

Bully Maguire: I cut my own hair. It saves me a lot of money I cut it weekly. That's like 140 a month. The fade comes out pretty sharp but I have to work on cutting the top of my hair.

kabilan: Thanks man! You helped me a lot

MR. ASMR BOY: Your videos have legit turned me into a barber.

jay degonzalez: The best self hair cut I've seen. I think I'm gone wait but i am missing having a fade, but i do like my length at the moment and I'm happy to keep growing it out. Really enjoyed you video bro...

Matthew Browne: Dang, i need those thinning shears. I usually part my hair to the left. Getting the fade on the sides and back isn't the problem, it's when i try to blend the top in with the left side that always gets me and i can never figure out how to do it. Those thinning shears might be the answer to that

Sarin Volken: I have long hair and don't plan on cutting it but I enjoy every video you put out bro. Great content.

Cooper: Been doing this for 7 months now getting pretty good. And tbh dunno why I pay for a bad hair cut when I can do it myself

Champ Lee: Thank you for sharing the content and the result was nice, too. HOWEVER as a self learner myself (on different languages, hair cutting, fitness training...etc.) In my humble opinion, it's needed to be pointed out/reminded that "everyone has their own situation"; to be honest, with your head shape, cowlick position, hair texture...etc, it could be a lot easier to handle (not criticizing the content, please take it as compliment of the looking you got). So it'd be good if the clip did help people out, but in certain case I suggest people to leave it to the professionals, or you can share with us your experience on different head shape/condition (? It'd be so kind if you do; anyway, good work! PS. just here for those who failed, don't be frustrated, just watch and learn more or leave it to pro.

FINEDIAMOND: Such a dope cut! You're super good-looking bro! Wishing you all the best with your project.

ya king: Very detailed! Thank you for sharing.

LV: Big improvement on how to cut the top hair. Can't wait for the project!

wuzumaki: Been cutting my hair myself since 2013. I looked like crap after the first few times, but eventually became better over time. Developing the skills has really paid off during quarantine, as all my friends now look like crap, and I'm the only one with a fresh hair cut on a consistent basis

Juffrrio: Your number 2 guard looks more like my number 4 guard. We both have Wahl. I wonder if that makes a difference? Do different year clippers/guards cut differently?

Jo Sarilla: Thank you! I learned so much from u! Keep it up!

OS1577: Dam Alex you make it easy this is awesome appreciate the content

Kevin Millar: I’ve your vid saved for every time I cut my hair great job man

Orlando Anaya: What kind of light are you using in the background to keep away the shadows and see your fade better as you cut?

IT24: Have you tried creating the first guideline with a open clipper no guard instead of a #1 closed ? I’ve seen some tutorials do this ... just a thought

Allan D.: great stuff bro. Followed your video and got the best self cut to date.
