What'S going on fader culture, this is sergio barron and we're back again with another tutorial. Today, i'm gon na run y'all down my step-by-step process on doing a mohawk fade. So with that being said, let's get started, okay, guys. So to begin, this haircut tutorial, i'm gon na, come in with my three guard lever open and i'm basically just gon na start, creating the desired shape of this faux hawk by removing a lot of this unwanted bulk and remember it's all preference as to how wide Or narrow, you're gon na want your mohawk to be, but for this haircut in particular, i'm gon na keep it kind of white so that we leave a little bit more length up top next, i'm gon na come in and start my sheer work. I will dampen the hair a little bit and i'll begin from the back crown area pulling out about a finger and length of a section and you'll see here how i'm basing only two fingers from the scalp up, and that's basically going to be my guideline as To how much to trim up the top and we're going to repeat this process until we reach the front of the head and remember to pull out small sections at a time like i said so that everything remains as even as possible and now for the sides Of the top we're basically going to create a triangular shape coming in about a 45 degree angle, so that we can create the shape of this fohawk and again working your way up only about a finger and length at a time until you reach the front of The head and then we'll just repeat the exact same process on the opposite side before we move on to setting in our guidelines to start our fading process, and next, i'm gon na come in with my trimmers just to lightly set in the edges, so that i Can see a lot more clearly where as to where to set in my guidelines and for the back you're, basically going to want to just find the middle and uh from their setting the point to where the mohawk ends and since we're keeping his mohawk kind of Wide i'm uh basically trying not to slant the line up in the back here, not so much so i like kind of aim it towards the bottom of his earlobe. Next, i'm gon na come in with my one and a half. That'S the one guard with the lever open and i'm gon na continue to bulk a lot more of this hair, so that, when i sit in my guidelines, i kind of see them a lot more clearly. Next, i will kind of visualize where i want to set my first guideline and then i'm going to start to set that in with the zero and that's the clipper, with the lever, closed and you're going to want to round it towards the back and uh kind Of basically just creating your first guideline around his ear for better reference, i used about two fingers to set in my first guideline from his ear and we will repeat the exact same process on the opposite side, so that we make sure both sides stay consistent with Each other and before you move on to setting in your second guideline, just make sure everything is nice and even on both sides. Next, i'm gon na come in with the lever open, that's a half, and i must i'm gon na basically come up about a finger in length here just to set in our second guideline and we're gon na continue. It all the way to the back bottom of the mohawk and then we'll just repeat the exact same thing to the opposite side. Next, i'm gon na come in with the one guard lever open, that's one and a half, and i'm gon na come up about another finger in length to set in our uh our third guideline. Next, i'm gon na come in with the two and a half. That'S a two guard with the lever open and i'm gon na. Basically start blending outwards just to kind of blend the sides up to the top length of his hair. This won't really create any more guidelines, above or at least any harsh guard lines. I should say, but uh i will come back right now with the three and a half to finish: blending up uh onto the top length of his hair. Using gentle strokes just take your time so that everything is nicely cut and even so yeah next year. I'Ll come in with the three and a half like i said, and uh just basically tie in the side length to the top of his fauxhawk. You can kind of think of this as like, if you're sculpting his hair, to try to connect the sides to the top. So if you got to kind of lift up the clipper from the scalp then do so so that you're not taking off too much length from the top and now we'll be left here with our three guidelines and uh we're gon na basically start blending out the Top one working our way down, i'm gon na come in with my one and a half clip set in i'll set in the lever to about three quarters and uh using kind of the sides of the clipper i'll start blending a little at a time until i Reach the back and uh that top line is all blended out and remember to keep brushing away any loose hairs as you're cutting that way. Everything just remains clean and you can like really see these guidelines be taken out as you work through them and if you feel like you need to open or close the lever a little bit more here, and there then do so just to take out any dark Areas that you feel you come across for me, the lever open to about three quarters seems to always do the job, but from time to time i will close it or open it a little bit more just depending on the type of hair that i'm working with. Next, i'm gon na come in with the half clip and i'm gon na leave the lever in the same position to the three quarters and i'm gon na start blending out this middle guideline. You'Ll notice, when you start taking out this guideline, that uh you'll kind of create another guideline. That'S not so harsh, but uh. Don'T worry! Don'T try to take continue. Blending up and end up taking up the fade too high you'll come back in a little bit and finish taking out this middle guideline with the higher guard. So next we're going to come in with the one guard and keep the lever in the same position and uh. Basically just finish blending out this middle guideline. I kind of like to angle the clippers towards like, if i'm using the corners of them and that just kind of helps me get a little more detailed when i'm blending out these little dark areas and we will repeat the same process on the opposite side. Until we make sure that middle guideline is completely taken out on both sides and next to remove our initial guideline, i'm coming first with the clipper lever closed and then i'll open it halfway and then i'll open it all the way, basically just gradually opening it. As i move upwards and uh taking out this initial guideline, so i will break this part down into like two sections, so i'll just focus on the side right now before moving on to the back side of the mohawk. So here i'm just starting, like i said, with the clipper lever closed and then i'm gon na open it right here halfway and continue blending up just a tad bit higher and then uh right after that, i'll just open it all the way and just finish tying In that blend, and next i'm going to just move on to the back side, like i said and repeat the exact same process and since his hair is growing basically downwards. You'Re, basically going to kind of try to go against the grain against the hair growth pattern and you'll see that i'm kind of fading upwards just to help basically clean out the hair. A little easier and all you're doing is basically looking for dark areas and splitting them open with your blades, so that you can create that blend effect. Next, we'll just repeat the exact same process on the opposite side of his head again, just starting with the lever closed and then gradually opening it as you're moving up into the blend and once you're done taking out this guideline, you're, basically going to want to step Back and kind of start doing any touch-up work if needed for this particular haircut. I noticed i left some dark areas still, so i came back in with the half clip lever open to about three quarters and basically just picked at any little dark areas with the corners of the clipper uh. Until i got them all taken out and uh, just tying in the whole blend all together and next i'll come in with my trimmers to take out the bottom here. First i'll come in with the clipper upside down as this kind of leaves in a a balder guideline and then i'll flip the clipper right back around just to take out that little faint line that it kind of leaves and then uh yeah after that i'll just Kind of take out the rest of this hair before i come in with my electric shavers, and since i came in with the clipper upside down, first you'll see that i kind of left a little faint line and that just serves as a guideline. So i know how high to take up my electric shaver and i'm not shaving up too high and next i'm gon na just come in with the electric shaver, as i said, and come up to that faint line and uh basically try to go against the grain. So that everything is nicely shaved all the way down to the skin. It'S a good idea to run your fingers on the skin, just to kind of feel for any rough areas that might still need shaving and we'll repeat the exact same process that we did on that side on this side as well, and next, i'm gon na just Come in with my trimmers again just to really sharpen up that back mohawk and now, for the top, i'm add a little bit of texture. I usually use scissors but uh. I wanted to come in and kind of use my clipper this time. Just to give you a different option, but i basically do the same thing. I pull out about a finger and length of a section and i'm basically just creating little peaks and valleys with the clipper uh, just to create texture and uh just create more movement. Up top, when you apply your product, and next, i'm gon na come in with my trimmers again on the front side and fine tune his edge up uh. Just before i come in with my straight razor to sharpen everything up and next, i'm gon na come in with the one and a half clip open lever just to trim down his facial hair and uh. He'S gon na keep a goatee, so i'm gon na just basically start shaping it out with my trimmers. The lip area is a it's a pretty sensitive area so be sure when you're lining up that area, you're kind of just using the your trimmers really softly kind of just letting the clipper do the work so that you're not creating any irritation or any discomfort to Your client and next i'm just going to apply a little bit of shaving gel throughout all the areas that i will be shaving. And then, when i come in with my straight razor, i like to tug on the skin just to help the the blade glide a little more easy and uh. I first come in basically with the grain and i shave down a lot of the excess hair and then uh i'll, give it a second pass against the grain, so that everything is just that much sharper and just to give this haircut a little bit more style. I'Ma come in with my trimmers, just just to set in a little hard part and uh yeah, just kind of offset the hawk in the back. I mean uh lines and designs are always optional, so that just depends on you or the client as to what they want and again i'll always come in with my straight razor just to sharpen it up a little bit more and next, i'm going to just come In with some matte clay and kind of work it into the hair until we find a desired hairstyle that we're that we're happy with so here's a preview of the haircut without enhancements, but i'm also showing y'all how it looks with enhancements. Just so. I have both options. Enhancements are always going to be optional, so just kind of touch base with your client and see how they feel about them, but uh yeah guys. I mean that's pretty much it for this fohawk mohawk tutorial. I hope y'all guys enjoyed it and were able to take something from it today and uh yeah guys. Let me know down in the comment section which i thought so again guys. Thank you for watching again. My name is sergio barron. This is faded, culture and i'll catch on the next video peace.
