All right well gage and I are back today and we want to show you really quickly how I cut our boys is hair, and so I cut it at home to save money and time. It only takes me five or six minutes, and it's really simple and I'm not a hairdresser or stylist or anything like that by any means so actually got our really simple process, come definite lines on it from the minimal vomit and we enjoy sharing tips and tricks Of how you can simplify our household really quickly, so we've been talking about clothes and kitchens and paper clutter, and today I want to share with you how I cut our boys hair, and so I am not professionally trained by any means. In fact, I probably have a sister-in-law she's, a stylist and she's, probably like horrified at what I'm about to show you but, like I said before, we just wanted to find a way to save money and to be able to do it at home, because it's quicker And easier, really, the only thing you need is a set of clippers, so I'm going to show you the ones that we use and I'll also link to it down below. So we bought this on Amazon. This is our second set. We have this. One was a little bit lesser expensive. It'S wall. We had a different one, I'll link to both them down below, so this one doesn't do quite as good of Java. Basically, all that means is. We have to go over certain areas more than once, where the other set I felt like. We didn't have to go over the same areas as often, but if you're, just starting out, if you're not sure, if you're gon na keep cutting in hair at home, then this is a great one to start with. So, basically, for our boys, they like to keep their hair. Pretty short just gets easy and if we cut it every six weeks, so here we've actually gone eight weeks before cutting it. We understand it before school, and so the only things that I use are the Clippers, and then I use the number one two and six attachment so basically with the number one. I just cut right up here to the top of the crown and then number six on top, and then I go back with the two and a half and blend it in and really I mean with just using those three different Clippers. It does a pretty good job of blending it in and if it's not perfect, please give it a few days and you won't be able to tell at all, but it's really simple and don't worry I mean if you mess it up, their hair grows so fast. I use the wrong number on top last time right before school. When I cut it, so it went a little shorter than normal and for the first thing you guys like it shorter. We like to keep it like a little bit longer on top, but like after a week or two you can't even notice it grows back, it's so fast, so just don't be afraid to give it a shot. I know it kind of depends. You know what kind of hair your kids have, so we have both so our five year old. He has thick hair, like my husband and then gage has a little bit thinner, hair like me, and so this works the same on both thick and thinner, hair. Both of our boys have never had their hair cut at a salon, and so we started cutting their hair like this at home when they were probably two to two-and-a-half, and so the noise of the Clippers did scare them a little bit at first. So we just went really slow, we showed them what it was we let them hold it. I let them watch me cut Tom's hair so that they could see that you know it wasn't anything to be scared of and to get them to sit still. We did use candy, so I'm not afraid you know potty training and cutting hair. They did know that they were getting a treat at the end Enzo that did help them to sit still and we don't usually use like a cape or anything. I mean just sit them on the bathroom vanity. Usually we have their shirt off so that then, at the end, we brush all as much of the hair into the sink as we can and then we go throw them in the bathtub and wash their hair and get all the extra hair off them. That way and then sweep and vacuum up, and it really isn't a big deal and, like I said I can cut through here in five to six minutes. It doesn't take a long time and once you do it a couple times so be a super quick at it. You like getting your hair cut at home, so that's all there is to it like. I said I'll leave a link to this Clippers down below I'd love, to hear any tips that you have for cutting hair at home and, like I said, I'm definitely not a professional in this area, but it works for us. Should they go with the steps up and how about should they subscribe, so they can see more tips and ideas of how they can simplify their house quickly. Yeah we'd love it if you subscribe, so that we can keep in touch and you're notified when new videos are released.

Kiera Wolff: Thank you for this! With this quarantine craziness going on, we can't take our 3 year old to the stylist like we usually do. His hair has been driving me nuts, might give this a try

Amy Short: I followed this as my first time attempt. I did a 6 on top, 2 around the crown and 3 to blend. Thank you for the instructions!

Ashley V.: Your videos are always really helpful! I'm about to have my 3rd boy, so I really need to start cutting their hair at home. Thanks for the tips! ☺️

JoDee Clark Lompa: I know this video was made almost 3 years ago, but oh my, your boys are so very beautiful! I love how Gage leans into Dawn. Heart-melting.

Stacey Brown: LOVE how real and relatable this video is! I just subscribed. Thanks!

Diane Cohen: Seriously, one of the cutest little boys ever! Thanks for sharing, I am going to give it a go.

Suzanne Kuehn: This video came at the perfect time! I cut my boy’s hair for the first time last night after watching this. Turned out great, thank you!

Janis Yuille: Great job! We did the same when our boys were that age! I loved it - had fun & saved money too! Be prepared when they get older and more independent that they will want a barbers cut!

Sarah C: I’ve been doing the same thing for my boys for about 10 years! Now my older son is almost 13 and wants more complicated styles so I do take him to a barber. Doing it at home saves so much money!

Nine2Oh: Who else is here trying to learn how to cut hair because of corona?

Kristina P: Thanks! I've been thinking about this for some time and am going to grab a clippers when I'm out tomorrow. I enjoy your videos so much, so practical. We're amidst a move from Iowa back to our home in Sodak, and I'm anxious to downsize to a small acreage home and simplify life.

Nuswodahs: Good rule of thumb, always cut your kid's hair 1-2 weeks before the start of school to skip that "weird" phase. Either way it won't matter much in the beginning of school. Kids forget pretty quickly for small things like that.

christine shah: So cute. I've been cutting my boys hair for years and years. Each of the three has a different texture. The oldest has SUPER thick, straight hair. I can't mess it up. It seems to fall perfectly every time. We do short on the sides and I measure with my fingers on top...the top is three fingers. Lol...like pouring whiskey. He is 18 and likes it a little bit floppy. The 15 yo has fine, straight hair and cowlicks everywhere. I just do my best. Lol. The 12 yo has thick, wavy hair. Sometimes he likes it buzzed, sometimes it is kind of a skater look, sometimes it is faded...I've done it all to that child's head. It grows back!

Miranda F: Your boys are so sweet :) I always cut our kids hair at home too, for exactly your reasons - saves money and time. Just a few minutes at home vs. a trip to town.

Ruth Gaynor: Gaaaah! Your boys are so cute! I only grew up with a sister so I’m just now getting acquainted with the World of Boys with my 3-month-old son and already I can tell I’m going to love being the mom of a boy. Thanks for saving me a pretty penny when his hair starts to grow!

shellbell2272: I cut my boys and husbands hair too! And I do it very similar to you- even have a thick hair kid and thin haired kid. So funny. We also (for a little while) let them use our phones/handheld game to keep them still. My younger kid likes longer hair on top so I have just started using scissors. I felt so proud when it turned out ok. I think it is awesome to cut at home!

Elizabeth Jensen: Oh my goodness! I was on the hunt for help cutting the boys hair and found you! Such a surprise to see and recognize your lovely face . Good to see you Dawn (and fellas) and thanks for the tips!

Nancy McNee: Gage's smile is infectious! And that's the only infection we need today! Thanks for showing this to the world.

Elizabeth: Awesome! Love it! Nice and simple!!

mika rage: Works great for adult too, just tried this morning and it's perfect ! Regards from France.

Enjoying Life With Suzie: Good video! I cut all three of my boys hair with clippers and sometimes scissors on top. One of mine has a front colic so I keep it a little longer. I have no hair cutting experience and although it takes me about 15-20 min I still enjoy it and like saving money! I even have been cutting my own hair for the past couple years! Yes I was nervous and I haven’t made any big mistakes with our hair yet. I use to be so picky about who cut my hair. I had a lady I used for 10 years that was the only person who cut my hair. I was tired of paying $60 every time but felt it was justified. One time she cut it differently or wasn’t paying attention to what she was doing and my hair just turned into a mess! So I figured well I couldn’t make it any worse so I watched some cut your own hair videos and never looked back!

Tara Paradise Dwyer: Put some powder on a washcloth and the hair comes right off! That may save you/them a bath! I did a 2, 8, and 4/5 blend. I might try yours next! I'm never sure what blend number to use, but I've gotten good at the edging! Saves so much money!

#Mom4Real: I just cut my hair this morning with my razor comb and told my son, who is mixed and has slightly curly but thicker hair, that I was going to learn the clippers. I've scissor cut his hair for most of his life, but now that he is a pre-teen I've been paying a pretty penny to keep his hair done nice at the barber. Soooo, this post is right on time! Thank you! What an adorable little ham you have !!

Chantelle Hibschman: Thanks for sharing! I did not want to use scissors so this video is just what I needed!

By Grace: Such a cute family. Love that you home clipper the boys hair, personally I wouldn't cut the sides so short but that's only because I don't like such a shaved head look for my son

Jennifer Hobson: Saved me!! The shag look was getting out of hand but my kid looks awesome now!! Thanks!

Kat T: Thank you for this, tried to take my 3 year old to a salon today and he had a complete breakdown, so now I'm at home watching videos

Brian F: So helpful, thank you!!!

Marwa Elghamry: Looks great and easy

abnormaljess: Your boys are cute thanks for the tip as a mom trying to be more frugal this is great

Hagen Nottingham: Your boys are so cute! Their hair looks great! Thank you

Kathelle MacLeod: Great video! I do something similar with our boys. I cut my 2 year old's a week ago and I still miss his mad professor curls x x x

sarah: I cut my boys' hair in much the same way. My 2nd son was less than a year old when I did his first haircut. I sat him in my lap and laid his head against my chest to keep him still. I let him touch the back end of the clippers to feel the vibrations so it wouldn’t startle him when it touched his head. He did great. I let my boys watch cartoons on the iPad during haircuts.

Julia Athayde: Gage is the cutest! He always makes me smile. =)

Mr Huntings Adventures: Great concise easy to follow video whoop whoop thanks!

Blue SouthPaw: No way!!! I could have used this video 3 days ago when i used clippers on the twins for the first time! So glad you made a video on this! Again, way more informative than the video i found on YouTube lol. And boy do your boys look so much alike. Wow! My fraternals don't even look as much alike as your boys do.

Skate bread: This worked wonders very simple. Thanks very much.

o l y a: He is soo adorable smiling to the camera & cuddling to you!!

BarbellRoy: I'm gonna try this on my, almost 2-yr old boy. Place we take him to doesn't cut it short enough. I have the Whal clippers & guards. Thankfully my boy loves getting his haircut. Thank you for this very informative video

Courtenay Hillger: I’ve always cut my husband and son’s hair too! Can’t imagine spending $40 a month for them to go to a barber I’ve just always had them stand in the bathtub with their shirts off and it’s a breeze to clean up after.

Diane Kessel: Thank you for your help! My baby came out looking like a big kid . But it was time.

David Zhai: Let's give it a try today! Thank you!

vilvavia: He smiled the whole time during the video such a cute little boy

Dad: This is the cutest channel. Thank you for the help!

Frogenius W.: 1. Start with the longest cutter/clipper all over, 2. do the shortest up to a bit above the ears, 3. do the middle-size in the border-area to blend in. (You can also use two slightly different middle-sized ones, to accieve a even smoother blend..) ♡

Guillermina Stover: Oh my goodness, the younger one is simply adorable! And your older boy is so serious and handsome...

VEGETARIAN NINJA: “Any mom can do this!” says the title. All the video shows however is the Dad doing it. Girl Power!

dowg C: Thats a great clip! I do my hair in summer at home, but with all this going on we can't get him to a solan. So I do have the the clippers, I'll try it.. Thanks!!

TheMercyme: U make it look so simple!!

Angela Roberts: Oh my word, how cute is he?! we are big on Batman here too. Our son is 20 months and I just gave him his first hair cut. I’m a hairstylist, now stay at home mom. I love seeing people cutting their own kiddos hair! Saves so much money. I even trim my own just to save $.

Pam Boatwright: i just watched this to see Gage! He is just the cutest, and boy, was he a flirt. So fascinated being on camera, cheek to cheek with his mommy!

Jilly Girl: Such cute kids and good job cutting hair - the $ saved adds up fast !

Jenna Lacaria: Only 5-6 minutes?? My boys would love to get their hair cut by you. I take much much MUCH longer but they are incredibly patient. Bless their souls.

Simple Changes w/ Lana: The irony with this is I was just trimming my 2 1/2 yo's hair earlier tonight and then I saw this! Only trick is he's black so the hair is totally different ;) but I'm determined to learn how to take good care of his hair and trim it well! Not brave enough to dare a fade, but I'm working toward it.

Ali Smash: Many thanks for the video. Such a great idea. I was wondering if you could do another video one day on weekend routine with kids...how do you keep them busy without getting exhausted at the end of the weekend and especially the weekend mornings when you want to sleep in and thats the last thing your kids plan to do

Sarah Villa: Your son is absolutely adorable

Ashley Hughes: Good Lord, this video saved me today! Thank you! Lol! ❤️❤️

Lydia Senn: Thanks for making this. My kids hair situation is dire. Also you have quite the cutie pie there.

Rebecca LaVanture: "If its not perfect, give it a few days and you won't be able to tell" haha :)

Mr Alrum: Cutter size 1=3mm, 2=6mm and 6=18mm . Thanks for the video

LokoJmG: I'ma stay at home dad this is gonna help a bunch thanks a million !!

jamiep7: My boy hates haircuts, I was influenced by your video to try your techniques it was a battle but I managed to do an ok job.

Deana Binner: I’m not a stylist but I think they look great!

ruthie stuhlman: U do a great job!

jukes243: I was the barber, hair stylist, and dog groomer in our home. Saves tons of money. Cute kids. TYFS.

April H: I keep it even simpler and just use the #4 over his entire head! I can't believe you make it 6 weeks! I cut both my husband and son's hair every other Saturday. We do it right after dinner in the kitchen so we only have to vacuum and wipe down countertops once. Then it's straight to the bathtub for my son to get the rest off his neck. Will you be showing how to cut your daughters' hair too? I just had a little girl and need that video!

Jill Peterson: In the Summer, we cut the boys hair outside on the driveway! No clean up and the birds can use the hair for their nests!!

Kathy Seiver: Adorable Soooo cute

Lea Johanna Swanepoel: Aaaaw that cheek to cheek so super sweet, i love it!!

Jeannette Elizabeth: I’m too much of a perfectionist I do a 1 all over

Kathryn Baker: Omg sooo cute! Both you boys are so handsome and your girls are smart and lovely.

Tete Dennis: I have cut the boys' hair for a long, long time. Even my husband. Saves so much money and they can pick whatever style they want. We do it in the kitchen, just sweep it up. Shirtless and they grab a shower when it's done. Wet hair cuts better. I also cut the dogs' hair, and they hold still. The Wahl clippers for people will sometimes pull their hair because they just aren't as sharp. I found the pet groomer clippers are so much better and last longer.

Jerald Collins: Agree that a 5-minute haircut at home is plenty adequate for little boys. These parents have common sense (which today is not so common).

Kamran Mirza: Gorgeous little boy!

Danielle Vendetti: Thank you we just gave our boys this cut due to corona

Maribel Elisea: I will be doing this because we won't be going to a barber shop any time soon. Thankfully, I had purchased all this back in summer. I will finally put it to use!

TheWigleFamily: Corbin posing hand on hip is a hoot!

Crisdosno: such handsome boys! We do this at my job too it realy saves a lot of money!

TET- TAZ: Good video thanks!!

Essa Yousafzai: Kudos for having such calm babies. Mine would kick and punch 1000 times throughout this video

Rita Healy: He stole the whole show. He is adorable.

Jessica Kanagy: Would doing a number 3,4 and 8 work with this?

Leena White: Oh my goodness! How cute is he!!!

Jennifer Crowley: How do you get them to sit still? Movies!

Tracy: I've been cutting my son's hair since he was about three. He's 18 now, and he does NOT like the idea of going to a barber. He insists that I be the one to cut his hair. I used to do hubby's as well, but he goes to the barber now, and I'm OK with that! I also have Wahl clippers and do pretty much the same thing, but a tad longer because that's my son's preference. He uses a towel as a cape and then he gets to do the clean up afterwards.

Ashley Lewis: Sometimes my clippers will pull and get kind of caught in my husband’s hair. I’m nervous about them doing that on my son’s hair. Have you had that happen?

%‰&ㅅs: Try a number 8 on top and 1 on the side just so thay can see what it looks like but this is a good haircut 2

Scott Clemens: I bought the same Wahl clippers and call it the covid (crew) cut! The new norm

Kimbra Flores: Do you cut your girls' hair too? That would be a fantastic video.

Franziska Derksen: I also cut the hair of my boys at home. But I hated to clean the londry with al the small hairs in it later. So my boys sit naked on a chair in the shower and after they get a shower

Katastroofi Eelne: Very well done! The boys look good! I have an almost 5yo. We go to the salon with him. Well, its just one child... i do cut my own hair myself (i just cannot stand sitting at a salon.. and im 37 but still not showing gray) i also shave my husbands 50%bold head.

Susan Cole: What sweet boys!!

Heather Aube: When it's nice out we do my husband's hair outside.

Sunday Marie Hanson: What lil cutie pies ♡♡

Linda Vido: Your boys are so stinking cute. So sweet

ashandu: Gage is so darn cute!

Marissa: He is so sweet ♥️♥️

Sulagna Panda: Your boys are so Cute!

Jen: How cute are they :)

davydavy music: Do you cut your girls hair? That's what I'm still working on learning to do at home.
