Curtains Haircut With An Undercut And Middle Parting - Thesalonguy

#thesalonguy #hairtutorial #undercut

Undercut curtains haircut has been a request as of late. The undercut haircut has become a staple in men's grooming, but I found it interesting when combined with the curtains haircut. It reminds me of a k-pop haircut also.

What'S up YouTube Steven, a salon guy here and in today's video I'm going to be doing a curtains undercut haircut, so I've gotten lots of requests for this. Basically, the curtains haircut. You know it's one of those terms. I don't use that often, but it's basically like it's covering coming down like curtains covering the forehead and coming around this way. So I'm going to do the haircuts. Let'S get started. This mannequin already had a previous undercut already, so it's basically like zero guard. All the way up through here, which definitely helps make it a lot easier. If you are going to do this haircut, you know when you have a bunch of hair in through here. It really depends on you. I always like to create the undercut where the recession line is or where the hair naturally wants to curve down in through here or the corners right. The corners of the hair are pretty much the most natural part of where the hair is going to. You know be the best place to divide this because, as you can see by me, combing its back like this, it just wants to stay in place if it was too low. The hair would just drop down and if you don't want, if it was too high like way up here, this would just look ridiculous, so you want to make sure that if you're doing it undercut, you wanted to keep it where the hair line starts to curve Down right into here, so now what I'm going to do is now, because I have there's not a lot of hair underneath. I could probably do this in one section and what I'm gon na do. Is I'm going to look here and establish where I'm going to be cutting this, so I want to leave this a little bit longer in the front, but what I can do visually is. I can kind of almost like you're drawing a line. So if you're a hairstylist or a barber and you're doing this, you want to make sure that you're almost envisioning the line of where this is going to end up. Okay - and you can do this literally with no comb whatsoever. As long as you have a clear vision, you should be good. Another little tip is the coolness back this way, because, what's going to happen, is sometimes I've noticed that people have a tendency to cut this first and they cut it way too short, which really completely screwed up the haircut, which means you have to go much higher Up here so by combing this back and around what that does, is it actually helps protect some of that length? So when you comb this, it's actually a bit longer all right. So I've got my my visual here of where I'm going to do this, I'm ready to start cutting first thing. I'M going to do. Is I'm going to put my scissors right onto this pretty much close to the scalp like this and I'm going to start to lock it in and cut and we're doing this all pretty much in one shot all right now? Yes, you may have a couple little stragglers, but we can just take those off pretty pretty easily and let's see what we got here. So, as you can see, we have a nice straight line here that we've created in one shot. Just like that, all right now, what we're going to do is I want to approach the back right here, I'm going to stand exactly where I want this to cut and I'm going to hold my scissors of the place and cut straight across, because what I want To do is I want to continue this line and I just want to make sure that I'm keeping everything even and balanced, because if I were to start right here on the other side, I may be a little bit off. So you want to make sure that you know you're being cautious with that, and you don't start here, because you could cut the other side and just it'll be like who knows an engineer to off alright. So now what we've done is where we've created our lengthen through here and what I want to do. Actually, let's do a continuation on this side. Let me stand right here, so you guys can see again. If there's any longer hairs, you can go back in, and you know if you're, a professional and having cut but now we're pretty much home free and we're gon na cut this all in one shot and it's funny believe it or not. As I'm looking at this and I'm cutting it, I could actually see where it was longer to match us up into here. Alright. Now, if you know you're a client looking to get this done, all I could say is you know if you go into your barber and tell them to do this, I unfortunately cannot guarantee or predict the results of what he or she is going to do. A lot of times you guys ask me like what do I tell them what'll, you know you want me to give you advice, then you go in and get it done and it doesn't look like it. So I really personally can't control how somebody else cuts hair. That'S the only problem. I really can't control it, so you know, I always say, show them the video and see what happens all right. Sheldon video see what happens and best of luck. Hey all right. So now the curtains bit so because we've left this longer in the front. This is where the curtains come in, like that, now what we could do is we could actually just leave this here and that's that's the curtains, but a lot of times to me when I hear the word curtain, I think to myself. Oh everything is falling right into the face, so what I want to do is I want to comb this down straight here, just a little bit and we're going to cut this straight across. I am going to leave this a little bit longer right in the front, because I do want to have that excess length there case you do want to push this back. You know we still have a little bit of length to kind of keep everything. Looking still, you know with a good shape, because if we cut the front too short, then it's just not gon na look right all right and we're gon na go around again this way, just to make sure that everything is even all right and we're looking good. So I'm just gon na finish, tidying this up here and then we'll be ready to move on now the haircut isn't done yet the haircuts not done. We still have this to cut. We still have the top to cut, and you know, could you do this and leave it in one? You know one whole section and that and yes you can, but what I want to do is I want to actually create a bit of layering in through here. So it's not so heavy all right. So what we're doing is we're following the head shape, I'm combing us all straight back and now we're gon na start to do. Is I'm gon na start to remove that length right through here? This is. This is very, very important when it comes to getting your haircut. Is that if you don't have any sort of layering on the top, your hair really is just going to look like a bowl, and it's not gon na have any sort of movement all right. You need to have that kind of movement in order to you know, have a nice fluid shape? Oh, and I do this into all my haircut videos right. I do this all my haircut videos. The layering is gon na give it a lot more of a kind of movement. On top and some you know, I don't say, sweeping abilities, but to me it's just gon na look a lot better right. It'S not gon na be so bullish. It'S just gon na have a much much better shape, and now what I'm doing is just combing everything straight up and I'm taking off that weight in from the top and you'll see in the final results of you know how that really has helped and don't forget Guys, it's not just the top of the head. We'Ve got the corners right here right. The corners are very, very important, and I'm just going to lightly take off that corner right there to soften this whole thing up again, just to give it a lot more of a better shape so that it doesn't just look like you've got like you know, a Bowl on top of your head, that's cool! If you want that, no problem, you know, but I just want to change it up a bit. So getting rid of this excess weight is gon na, be very helpful. All right so we're combing everything. All I'm doing is cutting off the little pieces that I think are gon na, prohibit the style and we're almost done cool we're good there again. So now I want you guys that realise this. If you're a client, you know, even though it looks like it's a simple haircut and you know kind of Barbara stylists do this in, like you know, five attempt, maybe 10 15 minutes or so yes, but the key is if it's done properly right and that's that's Really the big difference now, I'm just combing everything straight up and checking the balance this way. If we were to comb this all straight up - or you know, if your stylist or barber does this, and you see like hair like way off for way longer than everything else, that means that they have had way too much to drink while cutting this no, I Means that they need to go back in and just check the whole thing right. Cuz there really shouldn't be any like really bad uneven pieces. There really shouldn't be that just means something was off on their end and, and you know you as the client who's paying. You know you shouldn't be going home going. All my hair is horrible. I hate this alright. So, let's take a look now: it's raised this head up a little bit. Let'S see what we got with the layers now, as you can see. What'S what's going on in through here we have a lot more movement, okay, a lot more movement, and now it's softened up the whole shape. So, let's blow dry it and we'll see what it looks like when we're done alright. So here we have the finished result and, as you can see from the layers that I've done on top here, see how it just really softened everything, let's even look from the side profile. You can see now that when you go like this, it's got a lot more shape to it. If we didn't cut the layers in the hair, then this really would just look like a bowl on top of someone's head. Alright and also it softens up this front here. So if you're getting this type of like curtain, curtains haircut, you got to make sure that they layer it. So let's bring this all on to the face this way all right see if it's all in the face see we got that texture. It got that movement in through here it allows us to kind of sweep it over this way. You know so again. You know it looks like a simple haircut, but it needs to be executed properly. So here we have. The finished result. Alright, YouTube. I hope you guys enjoyed this video. Let me know in the comments below if you enjoy this, so don't forget to Like comment and subscribe and I'll see you next time for more videos with ass long guy

ayman: This is literally the exact haircut I want

Irene Smith: Love your work . Who knew I would be doing the " bowl cut " (as it was called in the 90's) again . I did learn a great tip from you even though I am 30 years into this .... I always used to start in the front and hold the bangs taut . I like your way better !! Good job !

Eric Tie: The layer technique you just taught just saved my entire life of bad hair days

Dylan Meza: LET'S GO! I've been rocking this haircut for a while because my hair naturally parts this way and you're right! The stylists I would go to would cut the front way too short. It's cool watching this cut come back. Great video ✌️

Sayeed Sikder: Hey Steven, I know I’m late on watching this video, but I was debating whether to get this cut, but my hair is pretty wavy, and if my hair isn’t done at all it’s more into my natural curly state, but I really love this style. Will this cut work with my wavy/curly hair? Should I show this video to the barber so he/she will have a full understanding? Should I straighten my hair first, before proceeding to the cut?

Musique3579: Wow...........that's just so cool! You *are* a true master of your craft. Thank you for all of your many many videos Steven. Much appreciated.

七noctis: wish we had an artist like you

Halo Dogydash: Imagine going to the barber and when you tell him you want undercut curtains he wips out this video.

Глеб Ермаков: it's actually so useful, especially for me since I'm going to be a hairdresser xd

Antonio Andrade: Hey SalonGuy can you do a taper fade on the sides instead of shaving it all off? Or would it make the haircut look out of proportion? Another thing is there a way to tell if your barber has the capability to do this haircut?

StinzYGO 1995: You would b surprised at the hair stylists in my area who don’t know how to do an Angeled curtain cut on the top of my undercut. It’s super long now and the back needs some of the length off on top but they don’t ever cut it like this (how I want them to)

Yuri: Good video for quarantine life! Going off to cut my sons hair! Ty

ElMenZazo:v: Me gustaría demasiado que estén los sustitutos en español :(

alex ander: I was looking for this forever; Ayanokouji Kiyotaka from 'classroom of the elites' anime has this hairstyle, I wanted it to, I looked for it a lot, I couldn't even find a name for this, then while I was searching on youtube for this, I saw a couple of your videos in my recommendations, they all had quality and professionalism so I kept watching your video, until I saw this in my recommended. YouTube's algorithm has finally for once given me a perfect recommendation. And the fact that this is your video, I can rest assured that you haven't left anything important out unlike other videos that leave some important parts aside. Finally I can get my haircut thanks to you.

Ben H2: Would this haircut be plausible with a fade? If so, you got any advice on which fade variation may look the best: low/mid/high?

gi crocco: In germany around 30's and 40's this haircut was a must have trend

Sajan thug: Should we straight my hair before the middle part haircut or do it exactly opposite cause i have thin wavy hair

Blaze Tsai: Great tutorial, do you think you can do a tutorial on a similar haircut except the top is longer and it covers the short sides, someone as a reference would be a YouTubed and artist named aries, his hair is really cool and unique

Yes Yes: I’m 14, this is the first time I cut my hair by myself, and it came out perfect, thanks. :)
