The best haircuts for thick, coarse, dry hair and I get so many comments and questions from everyone asking me saying, Steven or salon guy, you know what's the best haircut for me, I've got really dry hair. It'S really coarse and honestly, in my opinion, there's maybe one or two haircuts that I would really suggest for anyone. Who'S got that hair type. So, let's just break down this particular mannequin here for a second, I have a couple of mannequins. I want to show you so this hair right, you've seen this mannequin before this has been heavily processed right. It'S bleached, so the hair is very, very, very coarse and also somewhat dry because of the process, the chemical process of lightening it now. What happens in these scenarios - and you don't even necessarily have to bleach your hair to have you know, dry, coarse, hair, I mean having coarse hair is something that happens somewhat naturally just may be born with thick coarse hair. If you do things to your hair that changed the actual structure of it like bleaching it or a keratin or whatever it is a perm, you know that could make your hair a bit more on the dry side. The thing is is that when your hair is very long, obviously it means there's more of it so you're going to see a lot more and feel like your hair is just a dry mess on your head unless you are taking the proper steps and making all The effort to blow-dry your hair very, very smooth using the right products using the right blow right brush and just putting that effort in your hair may always look like it's just very coarse and dry. So coarse hair means it's pretty much. The texture of each individual strand is on the thicker side, but it's also a bit drier, sometimes wiry. Having longer hair like this. Something like this hair style could actually help, because it's so long meaning it's going to weigh all the other hair down. So you have a easier chance of moving it out when you blow-dry your hair. So if you are not really interested in doing that kind of work, well, you may be up against some challenges. Here'S another example right. This is more of a curtains or center part, layered men's haircut. The thing about this haircut is again. You could have coarse thick dry, somewhat brittle hair and still be able to pull something like this off as long as it's cut properly and as long as you're using the right products, usually coarse, dry hair wants to poof out a lot. So it really comes down to maintaining your hair in a way that it makes it easier. So what is the haircut that I suggest for somebody with coarse, thick hair? Well, ladies and gentlemen, I like to introduce you to this mannequin right in through here. This is the haircut that I suggest if you've got extremely coarse, thick hair, I'm just gon na spin this around a little bit and the reason I suggest this or even something shorter is that you're able to use product on it that it's going to keep it From looking a bit on the drier side, you also don't have to worry about having it so perfect. You can actually kind of have a Messier style, it's a bit more forgiving and there's less hair. So it's not gon na look like you've got a mop on your head. All right shorter to me in my in my opinion, is always better when it comes to challenging hair types, because it's short enough that you don't have to worry about it as much, but still long enough and still pliable enough that you can do something with it. That'S my suggestion. You know it really. I know it's something. It sounds fairly simple, but there's there's logic behind it. So you understand. Oh that's why I should go shorter. It'S just so much easier to manage unless, like I said, you are going to put the work in when blow-drying it what types of products work best, or course dry kind of thicker hair types. Well, it really depends. I always suggest, and it really depends on the kind of look that you want. If you want more of a silky er, smoother looking hairstyle. Well, guess what again you have to blow-dry it and use like a smoothing product like my product, sleek or my you know, 25 spray as a base spray for pre styling, and then you can use sleek serum as another priests, taller blow-dried in use. The round brush get it nice and silky smooth. You can also go over it with a smoothing or a flatiron and use a little bit of heat to really kind of tame down any frizz and seal the hair. So it is a bit in a straighter side, and then you could use a light. Hairspray like something like my product locked, which is a very light. Matte finish hairspray or if you do want a little bit of shine, take a little bit of the sleek smoothing serum and run it through your hair when it's dry. That is what's going to keep it looking healthier, remember, dry, coarse, hair, Lexx moisture, and it lacks some shine as well. So you know you want your hair to have a little shine to it. Instead of focusing on making it so matte because the more matte you try to make it the more dry, it's going to look so don't be afraid of using a product that maybe makes your hair have a natural shine to it, or even somewhat of a shine. So it doesn't look so dry. Those are my opinions and also from based off of my experience of dealing with clients with those hair types. So let me know the comments below if you found this video helpful I've gotten so many comments and questions about this particular topic and I hope you all enjoyed it stay safe and healthy. Thank you guys so much for watching, don't forget to Like comment and subscribe I'll see you next time for more videos with Salon. Guy

Sokol Zahiti: So helpfull, never knew what my type of hair was called. I have had short hair like that most of my life, because it was so easy to manage. But recently i have let it get longer and got a different hairstyle. It is a bit harder to maintain, but blowdrying you hair after applying some shiny oil to it works perfect for me, even after i straighten it it looks healthy and moist.

fart: I have dry/coarse hair and can confirm he’s totally right. Tried to do a middle part over the past couple months but my hair just isn’t made for it. Even if I get the products exactly right and it looks perfect when I style it, running my hand through it a few times or getting even a tiny bit sweaty fucks it all up and it just frizzes. Getting my hair cut tomorrow and going back to his recommended style, which is what I used to do

Beckhamfan: You should see my hair and I bet you will never call your mannequin`s hair thick, coarse and dry anymore :D BTW, haircut is great <3

Sawyer Schneider: What should I ask my barber/stylist to do for the last haircut, the one with the short hair. Also, how do I style it like that? And what products do I use?

Nikola Ivanković: Steven great vid as always keep up the hard work bro

Kush Bhatia: Hello Steve, I have tried to grow my hair long to the shoulder length in the past but failed and now I have grown it to the point that it almost covers my whole neck but I don't quite know what to do now I mean I have straighter hair in front so that's not the problem but I have wavy texture in back any suggestions for that ?

Ouk Sovan អ៊ុកសុវណ្ណ: i swear my hair gets called an afro or a block just because there's no shine in it. rip I have coarse curly hair tho so texture is on point :)

Justin Schmidt: How would I style it if I’m trying to grow it out? Great video as always!

Rafael Jesus: Hey I've been watching your videos, and I absolutly love them, I've been searching since forever for someone who could explain me a specific haricut, I would like to know more about michael jackson's haircut around 1988, I have a very similar hair to his and I would like to cut it like that! Thank you very much for the attention God Bless!

Queen Amethyst: Brylcreme original is the best thing for coarse dry hair. Pea size amount (depending on length etc) rubbed in palms. Start underneath then blend through hair. Apply before bed & you'll wake up to softer more manageable hair. It's v reasonably priced too. Keep using it & your hair texture becomes much smoother. It's in a red tub.

Suicide Bomber: Hello! I have been lurking at this channel for quite a while now and this is the exact video that I needed. Just a question, what type of haircut is shown on 2:21 - 2:50. You mention that it is a center/middle part layered hair so I am asking if you got any videos about it? Really wanted that haircut for myself

George S. Koursioumis: Great video !! Can I go for a skin fade on the sides ? Would you suggest it ??

Deniz: Thanks for making this video, I've literally spent so much money trying to figure out a way of getting rid of my coarse hair... I just wanted nice long hair, but it kept getting worse and worse the longer it got. My hair is 2x as bad as your mannequins, so ye, pretty bad. I guess I can't get fine long hair :(

Vishesh R: Here is me taking hair tips from a bald guy

J Empath: I’m in the Army and coarse hair is the most annoying part of being here. Everyone else has a combover type haircut and I struggle to get it done lmao
