Don'T know your face shape in this video, I'm gon na be showing you how you can still choose the perfect test dial. If I could pick one thing, that's overused online. When it comes to men's style, it is hair styles and face shapes. There are about a billion different pictures and infographics trying to show you what hair style is going to suit your head. The problem I find with this is the loads of that information is just rubbish. Even I find it really difficult to choose what head shape. I am my head: isn't distinctly a circle, a triangle, a square to me. It just looks like a head, a head, that's individual! It'S got its own characteristics that are different from anyone else. So what I'm looking at pictures are people with these different head shapes. I'M like well, my head doesn't look like any of them as a result, I'm just tired of it. I'M tired of these umbrella face shapes that, in my opinion, just don't work and half the time information in these infographics or in pictures. It'S just wrong, and I bet some of you out. There are probably feeling equally as frustrated. So that's why I'm making this video, how to choose a hairstyle when you're not sure what your face shape actually is and also the reasons behind those recommendations. Instead of just saying, you know, trust what I write on this infographic really when it comes to choosing a hairstyle for your face. There are four things you need to consider number one: the width of your face from Temple to Temple or if your forehead is wider than that width instead number two, the length of your face from the top of your head right down to the chin. Number three structure: have you got sharp and angular features, or are they a bit more grounded and number four is the size of your forehead analyzing? These four factors can help. You choose the right hairstyle. Now the advice I'm going to be recommending in this video won't be suitable for 100 % of people. Everyone'S got their own individual characteristic sports. It'S going to be more useful than the majority of these silly and free graphics. I'Ve seen okay, first, things. First is what, if you've got a wide face or if you've just got a wide forehead? I fall somewhat into this category, especially with my forehead. My advice here is to go for some form of side, and why am i recommending this? Well, I find that using a side part helps your face to visually look thinner. It breaks it down into two smaller sections. I'Ve seen lots of guys with quite wide faces. I mean no such part and having all the hair going upwards, and this just maintains the full width of the head and emphasizes how wide it is. I'Ve explained about side pods in much more detail in a previous video on my channel, so feel free to check that one out it's an interesting watch, but essentially, by having a side part you're splitting the visual width of your head down to just the bit. That'S sticking up which in a side part, isn't the full width of the hair. If you someone that's got a narrow face, then you do have more options. You can easily. You know push all the hair in one direction if you want without a distinct parting, usually if you've got quite a slim, face, you'll have a long face too. If this is the case, then make sure that you're not going for a hair style, there's two vertically lifted, I'm not saying that you need to go for an emo, long hairstyle across the front of your face. But if you've got a slim head and then you've got a lift in her cell, that's taking it even higher. It just makes your face. Look crazy long and also makes it look even thinner. If you haven't got a very long face, you're, probably best going with something that is lifted, this can extend the overall length of your face to compensate next. Let'S talk about the structure of your face. If you've got a really structured and angular face, then congratulations because you're very lucky you'll be able to pull off pretty much any hairstyle. You want and also any length of hair. There are lots of people that say that people who've got a really structured face. Shouldn'T have like a short back inside hairstyle because they say it makes their head look too structured, but really, I'm not so sure about this one. I'D say as long as you're not going for a shaved off hairstyle at the top like guylove streetfighter, then you'll probably be fine. Realistically, though, most of us don't have this gorgeous structured face. I know for certain the eye dome. I haven't got a very strong jawline, hung-up structured cheeks at all, and I've got quite a small chin if you're. Anything like me and you've got relatively rounded features. You'Ll want to go for a slightly more structured hairstyle, because, unlike these looking people, who've been born with a really angular face. You'Re gon na have to create the angles. You want your face to look aesthetically good anyway, and you can easily do this by choosing a decent hairstyle, and this is the reason why short back and sides are so popular because they create structure and foremost man who don't have a wonderfully chiseled face. It'S the best choice. Having hair this equal length all over, it's just gon na make your head look even more rounded, and if you want to improve the way that you look, then this is something you'll need to avoid. Having a bit of length on the top means that you can create a bunch of different hairstyles and then also with it being tight on the sides you can see it creates a nice rigid shape if you've got hair on the sides. That'S creeping over your ears. Get it shaved off I'd recommend for most men at least a three clipper on the back and the sides. I even go down to like a 0 or a 1 now I'll see if I can throw up a side-by-side image of my head before and after this hairstyle and somewhere in the comments which you think looks best, in my opinion, definitely the shorter hairstyle. I imagine for most of you something with this sort of difference in length will be the best choice. I want to make a quick mention of foreheads as well. Now I've got a pretty big forehead and I've had this thing since the age of about 11. My forehead used to look like a sledgehammer as a kid and as a result, you know I found it quite difficult to select a hairstyle, but what would I recommend if you've got quite a big forehead yourselves? Well, I'd recommend one of two options: you've got to either attempt to reduce the size of it slightly or you've got to try and emphasize the whole length of your whole face. You can do that by either number one trying to go for a more forward. Combed hair style, but your hair intrudes into the forehead somewhat to reduce the visual appearance. Well, I think the best way of doing it is to actually get your hair lifted if you've got a lifted hairstyle than overall. Your face is gon na look longer and your forehead isn't going to take up such a huge chunk of your overall face length. When you compare that to a you know flat slow hair style, maybe to the side, then, in that situation your forehead is gon na dominate your face. Personally, I prefer the slightly more lifted hairstyle. I think it's definitely more of a confident look. Let me know what you think, and the final thing to mention here too, is the hairstyle you're choosing you've got to take into consideration other factors your face, shape, isn't the be-all end-all of selecting your hairstyle. There are other things like the density and thickness of your hair as well as your hairline. You have to take into account, for instance, if you've got like really thin. You know wisps of hair left on your scalp. It'S probably worth just shaving them off or if your hairline is affected by certain receding spots. Maybe you want to utilize them with a part to reduce the overall impact that they have on your hairline. That'S my real lowdown when it comes to selecting a hairstyle and that's the reason, I'm you know a big fan of short back and sides that most men tends to look good because scientifically it does. Hopefully you enjoyed this look at hairstyles for face shapes. Have you found difficulty selecting your face shape from these bunch of different shapes? Let me know in the comments section below and also let me know what hairstyle you're rocking at the moment. If there's one message, I can leave you it to this one. It'S also don't just use celebrities as inspiration if some of these celebrities are so naturally good-looking that they look good in any hairstyle. You'Ve got to choose what's right for you, even if this celebrity apparently shares your facial shape. If you enjoyed this video make sure you press the like buttom, i've got loads of other videos on this channel to do with hair styling and hair products, so make sure you go and check those ones out too. And if you want to see similar videos, just like this one on how to style your hair and what to wear, make sure you press the subscribe button and then also press the bell next to it as well. So the youtube actually tells you, when you upload a new video and i'll, see you on the next one.

Vince and his interests: finally a video about face shapes that I find actually useful

nhiu pham: 4 Things to consider: 1. width of your face temple to temple 1:26 2. length of your face from top of head to bottom of chin 3. structure (angular? grounded? etc.) 4. size of forehead

Ashwin Ramesh: Finally a guide that actually talks about realistic stuff! Great job Ben!

Matteo Calignano: Sat at back and sides short for 25-26ish years now (this meaning “for as much as I need to cut my hair”) and I’m feeling maybe excessively relieved that someone is normalising my 26yrs long default choice. Amazing video!

Giovanni Alves: This is the BEST video about hair style and face shapes I have ever seen. My face shape looks exactly like yours and I've always had some trouble when trying to choose a hair style that fits me better, awesome video!

Olav Sanchez: This is a great video! I've always had problems finding a hairstyle that I'm happy with until a few weeks ago. I was just messing around when i accidentally found something that popped

Ben Arthur: I'm more than glad I made this video! Loads of guys commenting can't even agree on my head shape...it's the whole reason I made this, face shapes don't exist haha!

Esuma Derob: Love it! Quick note: Don't put "Remember to subscribe" at the beginning of your video, it makes it feel unprofessional even if just subconsciously to people seeing your content for the first time. Add it at the end of an explanation or end of video. good work appreciate ya

Andrenik: Probably the most actually helpful video on “Hair-style”

Lights473: This style channel is amazing I really love the originality. You deserve way more subs.

Smexy Taco: This was the most useful video I’ve ever seen you earned yourself another subscriber

Alexandra Llimit: WOW THIS WAS REALLY HELPFUL!!! BEST VIDEO IVE FOUND !

william11724: Great video! Really helps!

Morning Coffee Cat: This is the only good video about hairstyles and face shapes on YouTube. Thank you so much!

AVTube: Man, I've been trying to grow my hair long and I've noticed something just didnt feel right, I felt as if my face was getting wider and fatter and I thought once it gets to a good enough length it will look good but man, my face structure is just like yours and your before and after picture god damn, the shaved off sides do look so much better, im thinking that is my problem and I will probably do that as well

Adrian Chong: Am currently rocking a textured short side part with side swept fringes hairstyle that seems pretty common here but I'm trying to change it since this one doesn't have volume at all. I've been growing it out for 2 months now and it's in that somewhat awkward stage where it looks a bit funny when spiked but it's still too short for the side part I'm going for. My hairdresser says I need to grow my hair our 2-3 more months. I have a pretty round face myself so I'm hoping your tip will work for me and not make me look weird. Otherwise, it's time to go back to spiking.

Chris Z: Hi Ben, Is the below rectangular or triangular haha? 1 face length - 21 cm 2 forehead -18 cm 3 cheekbones -16 cm 4 jawline -22 cm Thanks in advance!

Eroge Oficial: I've got round face and since 2 months ago I'm rocking a side-tapered comb-over which spontaneusly generate some side swept fringes. For me, it's the best hairstyle I ever had.

Ethan Ghez: My god this is actually a helpful guide!!! I kinda hate at it these days all of the youtubers are saying the same shit its so annoying... thanks a lot!

BronzeJourney: To me, every hairstyle doesnt matter if its short or long, looks exactly same. Cant choose.

Nikhil Kujur: I literally needed this , thanks mate !

Kromeification: Very solid advice. Hope you blow up man!

Bartosz Gizot: Great video man. Finally some usefull info.

Manissh Thakur: keep it up bro. great content!

vivek chauhan: Before this video I have tried some methods to know my face shape like measuring length and width, making point on mirror and some I don't remember and believe me every time I got different shape and before that nonsense by looking in mirror and photos I used to think I have a round face. It is a confusing thing to many. You are serving the humanity right sir. Thanks for the video. But still couldn't figured this shit out.

Gather Ye Rosebuds: This was actually a really good video!

Paper Boi: For 4 fucking years of struggles, I finally came across this video. Saved my teenage life. Thanks!

The Wanderer Of Wessex: I really like your videos mate, you seem like a down to earth bloke. Keep it up

Alex: Ben what if I have wavy or curly hair? It's hard to create a side part with those hair types.

Carter: Spent an hour trying to find my face shape. Jawline:22 Face length:19 Forehead:16 Cheekbones (which aren't very defined and hard to measure):14 NOTHING matches this discription. And my chin isn't round but it's also isn't especially defined. Also the way they tell you to measure doesn't account for your nose size. I have a big bridge which makes the measurement longer than it actually is. So dumb. Thanks for this.

lepeicious: I think your hairstyle is quite attractive and versatile go edgy rock n roll to classy modern. I wish more men would get this haircut I think it suits many!

Brendan Duncan: I love this no bullsuit kind of content on YouTube

Mikhail Berchik: I try not to do a side part because it doesn’t suit my face shape, but when I don’t part it, my hair parts in the middle and it looks terrible. I have fine hair like you, what do you suggest?

Dueling Glocks: Man thank you for this video you are doing a great service to guys everywhere

Carl Anthony Canio: Yah, it's been years I am trying to know the shape of my face but getting nowhere

Léon DT: Thank you that was helpful.

Yi Liu: This video really helps.

Unknown: Make a video for a long hair plz , Great Video btw

AMD1: Every time I go to get my hair cut I ask if they have a book with pictures of different styles. I have only ever been to one place that offers such a magical book, and it was at a salon in Irving TX. I wish every place would understand that offering such a book would be a great relief to anyone not wanting to go down the Google images rabbit hole.

Cymric: Other factors: job, wife, hair thickness, age, style trends...there are so many reasons face shape is a weird thing to focus on

The Confused Philosopher: agreed; always thought the idea of assigning human face shapes to categories of inanimate objects was absurd

Slasheerr: Please help me find what’s my face shape?? Forehead - 7 Cheekbones - 6 Jawline - 8.5 to 9 Face Length - 9 Please let me know what this face shape is??

🍀Celtic Bhoy Paul 🍀: Again another great video although you seem very self-conscious about yourself I've noticed in a lot of your previous videos you mention a lot about how fine your hair is and that's seems to be something that you are very self-conscious about the same with this video you mentioned about your forehead being big end of the day mate we Are Who We Are although I do agree that it would be nice if we could change a few things about ourselves

Dow Jones: I love you, your accent, and your advice. And I’m a straight, American male.

PercivalX: This was incredibly useful

Chase: I am 14 so obviously I'm not done growing but right now I've got a more defined jawline but very hard to measure cheekbones. I don't have a big forehead and what I'd assume as an average face length. Anyone have any tips? I'd prefer keeping my hair up and possibly a part. My hairdresser says I've got thick hair if that helps.

The Bar: This video is awesome unlike most BS I see on the infographics

Sebas Montes: Diamond face shape. A bit of curved in the upper/lateral Slightly strong jawline And triangular shaped chin Someone can help out a bit I tried talk it with the barber I use to go but a bit could help

Shiro: You forgot about beards, it’ll increase the appearance of length of your face plus give an illusionary jawline

mnl2: Wish you made a video on how you do your hair. Would really help

Yanal Abu Rahmeh: would curly look nice on round heads?

Ash Beresford: Cheers pal! Best video so far.

Tausty Z: I have a gothic sidecut. I have all my hair teased up and put to the side

Black+Purple: People perforce their faces differently in different media (photos, mirrors, cameras etc) so it's better to get another person's opinion beforehand to determine what kind of face do you have, from my perspective your face is a slightly wide oval with a wide forehead and no sharp angles make your face look feminine but you perceive your face differently, and every other person like at your face differently, so also consider another person's opinion, preferably a woman because they judge men's faces with more focus subconsciously,

stefan bathe: I don't know. Guess it is oval, yes. Well it was sort of undefined round when I had 80 pounds more. Will be structured oval when losing a few pounds. You are right...choose on yourself! have lots of hair so no problem.

King: I have a structured head but I still cant pull any hairstyle. My hair is wavy and looks short when it is actually like medium length. I usually let it be and it looks horrible. Barbers cut my hair too short even when I ask not to, but I am too scared to bitch about it. Short hair makes my ears appear big. Honestly I cant do anything and with medium length wavy thick hair I cant make it "stand"

Souhardya: nice video bro carry on you have my support

Fun Time: This is a nice video brah.. Not like others Awesome......

M Ricciardi: Brilliant mate!

Shobe’s-N-Worx: 2 on top, 1 on side. Works for me...

LucidDream: I'm probably going to get a cut soon. I don't really trust the people I go to though. There aren't much options though where I live. And I'm worried because it seems like my hair is starting to thin out.

Sebastião Correia: What about people that have curly hair with round face? Any advise?

aldilover1: Great video.

golfoholic87: What would you say is the best product for fine hair like yours? Cheers

Nick White: i thought my angular shaped jawline was ugly lmao. thanks for the complements my boy, good video

KissMe: I am similar to you. I don't have a 4 head I have a 5 head. It can be quite frustrating .

Anas Sid: Thanks mate

Jake A.: Verry accurate

RayMondoART: I like this video guide a lot, becauuuse, I too have a face shaped like his: large forehead and rounded jawline. Boy I need to try a new hairstyle now

Marcc Benjil Taub: Can u define mine my jawline & facelength is 8 and forehead & cheek bone is 5

Farhan Khan: Nice video Ben, does hairstyle like you suit on diamond face shape.

Salima Salim: I have a strong jawline , but my cheeks is my step sibling,so I gotta work on that

BRIBERIES: 17 years of living and i havent found a haircut i like

Rudy Torres: I could have a structured face if I worked out but it’s just a little round now

Luis J Espinal: Bro this was gold

Dana Pink: I have a long face Raealy stong jaw i mean a very pointed jaw And a short forhead Whats the best hairstyle for me ??

Langston Lu: If you just walk it can help with fat around you jaw. walking is better then running for losing fat.

Robert Ferguson: Man I have like wavy sort of curly hair and it’s really thick and fucking short which I hate but it’s true. What kind of hairstyle could ya recommend? I have an like an oval shape head btw

David Salinas: i have the exact same head shape as you except my forehead isnt huge
