Thanks so much for your interest in my videos and my brand "TheSalonGuy". It means the world to me! Watch celebrity Red Carpet Interviews, Fashion Events, Hair Shows, Celebrities, Motivation, Inspiration, Hair Tutorials, How To's, Education and videos in the Salon and Beauty Industry.

I started TheSalonGuy brand after the passing of my Mother and discovering a role model of mine who has a few books on turning your passion into a business. I have spent the last 20+ years in the salon industry, tech and fashion. I left the industry at some point to become a Fireman and Aux. Police Officer. I did 6 years service and resigned shortly after 9/11.

I have a passion for helping people, educating and motivating. I work with major brands, local businesses and individuals looking to expand and grow.

My videos will be focused on celebrity hairstyles, athletes, models, actors, social media stars and event videos.

All right, so the goal of this video is to help you understand how to get fluffy hair. I get so many people saying slow guy. How do i get my hair, more fluffy and more bouncy, and you know some more volume, but fluffy hair to me simply means that it just looks very soft right like like cotton, it's very fluffy and poofy and uh, so i'm gon na kind of break down. My technique on how i'd go about trying to do that to someone's hair, so what you want to do is you want to start with dry hair now, as you can see, this mannequin right here has very, very fine, straight hair and a lot of times. I get comments from people saying like my hair is so straight. It'S so thin. It'S fine! I don't have a lot of hair, but i want like how do i get my hair fluffy now? Obviously, there's people who don't want their hair fluffy. That'S a whole other video, but if you want to have more volume and poof to your hair, i say well, there's a few things you need to do. I would suggest using this is the vent brush. I sell on my website shop.theslang.com, it's an anti-static vent brush. The reason i like this one because a lot of times when you're working with brushes on dry hair, it's going to become a big static mess you're going to get hair flying over the place. This is anti-static also the handle it's a rubber handle. So it's so easy to control. So what we're looking to do is we're looking to create volume right and when you think fluffy i think, like kind of like bigger hair. So what i'm going to do is take a take a clip right here and you can do this yourself at home. Obviously, if you have clips, that's great just clip that hair out of the way what you're going to do is you're going to what i call back comb you're, going to take the brush like this and you're just going to give a couple of teases and you're Going to push at the scalp right going to push the hair towards the scalp, so it looks kind of like that. Then what you're going to do is you're going to go down to another section on top of that. Okay, another uh fine, section you're gon na take that hair you're gon na brush through it to get all the knots out like this. Then what you're gon na do is the same thing: you're gon na brush from the middle or the the end and you're gon na push downwards like this. So the hair looks like it's sticking up like that. All right, then, do the next section behind that and now we're working towards like the back of the head and simply what you're trying to do is you're trying to create kind of like a cushion all right. You can see i'm going in and then pushing down like this and you're getting the hair to create like a base towards the scalp. This way. Now, what i'm going to do is i'm going to leave the section on top of that all right, i'm going to leave the section on top of that very smooth and flat, because i don't want to tease this now. What i'm going to do is i'm going to just take the hair, the section on top of that that i didn't tease, because that is what is going to give that smoother type appearance and then i'm going to brush over it now look see how it lays Nice and smooth well, that's simply because i it's like an illusion of leaving the top section very, very smooth, so all the underneath, let's just get this out of the way and you do the same exact thing on the other side same thing. On the other side, i just want to show you on this one section right here, all right: let's get a little bit closer, so, as you can see right into here, it looks very, very full all right look how how compared to how how this side is Right how it's so just like flat, right and silky look at the difference on this side, so all you need to do then to even make it more fluffy is. I would use my locked hairspray, which is a kind of a really nice matte finish medium hold hairspray shake the can a little bit and spray it like one soft layer like that. Now, what you're going to do is you're going to use your hands and you're going to just simply lift like this and now look at all the the fluff we have here. Okay, now, all of a sudden we've got fluffy hair. It looks very, very full of volume all because that support underneath is there right, so we've created fluffy hair and if you want to you, know, hold and not touch it, then you just spray it set it and forget it now. Will this last throughout the whole day it i want to say the whole day, but the way you get something like this to last is by not touching it don't put a hat on your head. Don'T constantly run your fingers through your head, because what you don't want to do is really take away that support at the base that you just did all right, because once that is done, then watch let's take this top layer off the other sections. This is all the underneath now watch this. You want to run your fingers through your hair all day yeah. It might stay a little bit, but then now look all right. It'S back to being somewhat flat. You can revive it just by going in. You could also use your fingers like your hand, like this, the palm of your hand and create that tease again, and you get some of that poof back, but you really don't want to disrupt or disturb that base. Underneath that you get all that volume from. coldies: I love how we're taking hair advice from a bald guy

Pj Smith: Very, very helpful!! I want what I call “ pouffy “ hair, but no hairstylist has ever managed to do it. My hair is deceptively, extraordinarily thick, but because it is poker straight, no hairstylist ever believes me until they start working on it. I guess because it is so heavy and completely straight. At age 68, I actually think it has gotten thicker - I can no longer bear the weight. So hair only about the length of the mannequin is what I can bear. And instead of thinning it, I like the idea of undercuts!! Thanks so much for your great tips!

Joaqui Arreola: I'll be even more confident with this hair, thanks so much for this guide man!

Francis.Hearn: Easy, skip conditioning ;p The trick is the have a slightly lower undercut than where you had the disconnect in the undercut before Curtains, and ask your hairdresser/barber/stylist to not thin out or razor cut the ends of your curtains. Most Hairdressers won't want to keep the 'bulk' at the ends, but some of us do kinda like that look for a Curtains Undercut. If the top part of the sides and back are just layered, the shorter hair underneath should naturally just support the curtains without backcombing. Curtains aren't always long enough to 'bunch' so bulk shouldn't be an issue.
