Paisley’S Wash Routine (4B/4C Natural Hair)

Today I'm showing y’all Paisley's hair wash routine!

The first step in her routine is to use a gentle clarifying shampoo. We're obviously using Outta My Hair by Hairitage by Mindy! To shampoo her hair, I part her hair into mini sections and the gently scrub her scalp with the pads of my fingers. The most important part here is to start with product at the roots and then move to the ends. This will keep the ends from drying out.

Once a month I follow up with my An Apple a Day Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse. This further helps clarifying and also conditions her scalp. Then I add my favorite deep moisturizing conditioner SOS and let her hair soak it up for a few minutes. I start at the ends and work up using a detangling brush and my fingers to evenly spread the product through her hair. Then I put her under the hood with blowing warm air to help work the conditioner into her air. You can also opt for the no heat version and let the product sit in hair for an hour or two or even overnight. After that I rinse her hair with cool water then wrap her hair up in a microfiber towel. Next I add some Strength Training Leave-In Pudding Conditioner and use small cloth elastics to stretch her hair overnight. Then tomorrow morning we'll be off to get her hair styled.

Hey everyone., I'm Mindy from Cute Girls, Hairstyles and today, Paisley and I. Hi. Are going to be showing you her wash routine.. How are you feeling about that? Pais? It takes forever.. I know a lot of people call it a wash day. Fortunately, it doesn't take all day. Does it She does sometimes.. I don't think I've ever taken all day, but it definitely does take an hour or so. Yeah.. We'Re gon na bring you along for the journey tonight and show you what we're using the products and how we get our hair, --, Obviously Hairatage., all washed and prepped.. Tomorrow we are going to the salon, so she can have her hair braided for the holidays. Yep. ( upbeat music ) About a week ago. We did a perm rod set on Pais and this is just leftover. This morning. I just twisted it back., So it was out of her face.. So we are gon na, take her twists out to start with, and then I'm gon na get her set up at the sink. One of Paisley's. Favorite things is the shampoo buddy.. She just lays her neck right here.. You can actually flip it backwards.. Well, it's actually. The correct way to do it is flip it this way, so that her hair is sitting in here and then rinsing in the sink.. I actually kind of prefer using it this way with her shoulders in here, and then the water just draining directly to the sink., But either way it works. Keeps her head from getting too tired. Right, Pais Yep.. The other thing is her iPad, which is gon na. Keep her busy. ( chuckles ). Before I begin, I just wanted to show you Paisley's hair just straight out of the twists and we are ready to begin. ( upbeat music ). Now I'm gon na take Hairatage by Mindy, which is the out of my hair shampoo., And it's a really great just clarifying wash for her hair. That'S gon na help cleanse and purify all of the buildup and stuff off of her hair., And I am going to just kind of part it into sections like this., So that I make sure I get all of it completely covered and all the way down to Her scalp. And I'm not using the fingernails and I'm just using the pads of my fingers. ( upbeat music ), And I mostly try to apply it to the root and rub it in her scalp and into her hair.. Then I just kinda drag it down the ends which keeps it from getting too saturated on our ends and drying them. Out. ( upbeat music, ) Whew. At this point, I'm just gon na go back in make sure I got the roots all the way through. All of her hair., It actually feels really good to me. This time, sometimes when I to wash her hair after it's been in protective styles, for like six weeks like I do with these braids and they stay in for a really long time, I will have to Wash it like this and then do a secondary wash just to really make sure we get all of the buildup out., But tonight it's feeling really good. So I think just once is gon na do it.. So now I'm just kind of looking in her parts to make sure there's any little spots that don't look like they're lathered or have shampoo on'em get'em. And I'm still just massaging her scalp.. When you're massaging your scalp you're, drawing the circulation kind of helping, bring more blood flow up to the scalp, which is going to help with scalp help cleanliness and also it's gon na help with growth. ( upbeat, music, ), (, water, running ), Rinse, time., (, upbeat Music ) Okay., Her hair is all washed.. Well, it's shampooed and cleaned., And now I am going to take --. I was gon na show you too, before you forget and move on.. What I like about this shampoo is: it's sulfate, phthalate, paraben gluten mineral oil, color safe --. All of those are frees. Color, safe, cruelty, free and vegan.. So it's a really great way to cleanse and clarify her hair without stripping her hair.. Next up is the apple cider, vinegar rinse, which again has all of those frees.. This is an apple cider vinegar.. It'S pretty self-explanatory, honestly., An apple cider, vinegar rinse, but it's not just --'cause like real apple cider. Just straight is sometimes it can be really hard on. Your hair'cause it's too concentrated., So this is the perfect mix of all the ingredients to put against her scalp.. I also like the applicator'cause. I can get it down into her roots and it just helps balance the pH of her scalp.. It helps soothe her scalp and purify her scalp, specifically scalp orientation.. This is versus strand, which is the shampoo and conditioner. So we're gon na put this on and let it sit for a few minutes and then we'll rinse that off too. ( upbeat music ). This is a closeup of apple cider vinegar.. You can see, it does have like a sud to it, but it's not quite as frothy and suddy as like a shampoo., That's very normal.. So if you've experienced the same thing, it's what it's supposed to do. While she is sitting in that I am going to use the mask masquerade. Up next, it's the hair mask - and this is probably by far my favorite product from Hairatage.. It'S so thick., So creamy. Okay., You can see like it's just like almost like a butter., It's so good and I'm gon na. Let it sit. We're gon na put it under a cap and let her sit under the dryer for a few minutes to really absorb., And it is going to be so good for her hair to absorb it all. And if you're wondering where my cabinets are. If you haven't been watching for a minute or you're, just seeing this video totally out of context, our dishwasher leaked., So we had to tear the hardwoods up, which meant we also lost a bunch of the cabinets, and we are now in the process of redoing. The kitchen. So we're just kind of limping along half cabinet-less. Okay.. We have the apple, cider, vinegar, all rinsed out, and we are ready to start deep conditioning and detangling. Paisley's favorite part right: Pais, Hmmm., (, chuckling ). For this part, I definitely section her: hair into small sections. Apply a generous amount of the hair mask and then I'm going to use the detangling brush to gently come through her curls.. I use a lot of my fingers too to begin with and kind of work. Any shed out that I can to begin with and then move in with the brush. And then when I'm done sometimes I leave it open to rinse.. Sometimes I twist it into a little twist to rinse.. So I don't know what I'm gon na do. Today. We'll see how her hair feels., ( upbeat, music, ) Start by taking and just rubbing it on the ends like this. And then just trying to work. It up the strands and then separate the hair with my fingers as much as possible to kind of start. Detangling, the shed. We go back in and gently starting at the very ends where it's most likely to get into knots or little twists. Combing that out and working our way, up. And if there are any problem areas making sure I stop and then I'm gon na Take some up and put it --, make sure I get some at the top too. Down in her roots. In her part sections., Where they do the part lines on her protective styles regularly gets dryer., So we can try to give our hair a nice little drink.. They'Re sections that we've done. Covered in the nice mask and the sections that we haven't done are still just sitting. And we'll be here for probably 30 minutes doing. This. ( upbeat music ). So I've already put the mask in this section and now I'm just working.. You can see like there's a tangle right there., So I'm just trying to work the mask through those little ends and twists with my fingers before we go in with the brush, so that it helps to prevent it from having a ton of breakage.. So then, when we get like a section, that's done like that, we'll just gently take the brush and work it through until it's all can see it's tangle. Free. Then I'll set it aside and work. The next section. ( upbeat music ), As I predicted it, took about a half an hour., So she's, all detangled now. Didn't have a ton of shed.. Let me show you., So that is the shed, which is just the natural hairs that fall out.. It'S just that in her very curly hair, it gets stuck., And so then you have to kind of work. It out.. You can see it's all masked., We kind of have it semi twisted into sections and we are just letting it sit for a minute.. I mean actually put her under the hooded dryer just for a few minutes to speed up the absorption process, because it's late tonight and I'm getting tired. How ya doin' Pais I'm good. Okay.. We put a Walmart sack. When, in a pinch, if you don't have a nice shower cap right, Throw on a Walmart sack., It worked great., So we're gon na put her under the hood.. This is just a Conair, hooded dryer.. You can see that I got off Amazon and I just store in my closet. And I'm gon na put it on low and let her sit for probably maybe five seven 10 minutes, tops. ( upbeat music ). Here we have sat under the dryer and now it's time to rinse. Yay. Final rinse.. One of the big differences on the final rinse is that I try to do cool water, not cold, but to close everything up.. So I seal in all that moisture all that water. All that yummy mask that we just did. It's nice'cause, her hair's, all nice and warm right now and absorbed, and I'm just gon na seal it all in. (, upbeat music, ). Okay, now I'm gon na use the Hairatage by a Mindy hair towel., It's just microfiber instead of cotton., So it doesn't rub and irritate her hair and like tend to dry it out and snarl it up as much., So we're gon na use this.. I also think they're like way more absorbent., So we're gon na put this on and let it absorb for a minute and dry. Her hair. ( upbeat music ). We only have one final thing to do., Since we are going in tomorrow to have her hair braided. I need to have it's stretched, so I can use heat and stretch it., But it's number one. It'S late., So I don't wan na. Do that. Number two. I hate using heat. If I don't need to. So tonight, I'm just gon na throw some bands in it to keep it straightened out until tomorrow, morning. And then you're going to go first thing in the morning.. For this I'm just using some of these little kinda like microfiber bands.. I think I bought this huge bag of'em on Amazon for nothing almost., So we're gon na start banding her hair., I forgot first., I'm gon na put in leave-in conditioner. Whoops., Since her hair has a little moisture in it. Still, I'm gon na leave some leave-in conditioner in there and then band her hair. When I'm banding, I'm basically just grabbing a clump of hair and taking it and wrapping one of these bands around it. So start at the bottom, and I just kind of twist the Band so that it works itself up the hair.. You can see why it requires more than one band. I've seen people do this with string before or thread. If you really want to., This is just kind of a fast and easy way to try to get down. Really close on these ends. Keeps it nice and straight overnight. I'll just keep banding.. It'S a good look for you., (, chuckles, )! Guess what You're done. You just need. Your bonnet and bed. Yay. Yay., Thanks for following along on our -- Journey. journey to get her hair washed tonight., Yep., (, upbeat music, ),
