Hi guys welcome back to my channel. I hope you guys are all doing well before I get started with this video. I just want to say that I hope everybody is safe right now. I know everybody is stuck in quarantine, so that is the reason why I'm actually filming this video. I dyed my hair, because what else do you do when you're bored and it's day, 8 of quarantine? I wanted to dye my hair for the longest time you guys I've had like jet-black hair. My whole life. I'Ve never dyed my hair. So if you guys don't know how we did this, we did it all at home. Obviously we bought everything from CBS and Sally's. So I'm gon na show you guys all the products that we used and how we did it in case. You guys want to dye your hair. Hmm we're not professionals, but you know we did our research but flea. This video can help you guys a little bit if you guys are thinking about doing something like this. Luckily, it turned out pretty well, this was the results. So if you guys want to see me transition from black hair to this like caramely, like darker brown hair, then just keep watching alright guys. So to begin, we started off by dyeing my hair without bleaching it at first we're using the l'oreal hai color, and this was in the shade soft brown and we did mix the color with a 30 volume developer. We wanted to use 30 volume because we wanted to see how much it can lift my hair without bleaching it. So the reason we did this at first was because we wanted to avoid using bleach to start off. We thought that my hair would lift a few shades if we just dyed it brown, but unfortunately my hair was super super dark, so that did not end up working. We went through about three bottles of a hair dye of brown hair dye and it didn't list my color at all. So if you have like darker hair or similar to my hair color, I would definitely recommend just going straight for bleach. Like I said, we just wanted to avoid the damage of bleach because I've never dyed my hair, but it just didn't work. The good thing, though, was that for this session, my roots were lifted a lot. So when I did bleach my hair, I didn't have to apply bleach to the root of my hair, so that was good. So after we dyed my hair and I washed it and straightened it, this was the result. Clearly, there was not a major difference only around my roots we didn't show here, but mostly around my roots, was where you can see like a touch of brown. So since that didn't work on the second day, we moved on to bleach we're using the Loreal, quick blue bleach and we're gon na mix it with the laurio developer, and we are using a 20 developer for the bleach because, like I said, we wanted to avoid. As much damage since I do have a lot of hair, so next, my sister just sectioned off my hair she's gon na work from bottom to top. She was using this little paddle thing from I believe Sally's. This just helps to apply the bleach a lot neater than to just like kind of spread it all over the place. You got to make sure that your hair is combed nicely so that when you apply the bleach and you wrap it in the foil that it's not gon na be streaky, it's gon na be very like nice and clean, so she made sure to apply it as Neat as possible also, she did take thicker pieces of my hair because I have a lot a lot of hair. You guys and she's only applying the bleach on top so she's, not applying the bleach behind my hair, if that makes any sense, so she's strictly applying the bleach just on the top surface of my hair. So the bleaching process took maybe about an hour to 40 minutes for her to just kind of bleach. My whole head cuz. We did have to bleach everything just because my hair wasn't lifted at all, except for my roots, like I said earlier so yeah, she did not bleach on my roots. She only went like kind of like maybe like an inch right below my root and my hair was in the tin foils for maybe an hour. I want to say especially the pieces at the bottom so for the pieces in the bottom. They got lifted a lot more because they were wrapped a lot longer since her bleach was low volume and we didn't leave it in for too long. My hair it lifted, but it could have listed a little lighter had I left it in longer, but we just didn't want to risk it, so we left it in for about an hour once my sister started unwrapping the bottom. You can see that the bottoms were a lot blonder than the top. The top pieces were in for, like I said, maybe close to an hour. Maybe 40 minutes you can see, it doesn't look streaky and it did lift a lot. It'S a lot more Brown red-orange e tone. So after this is when we moved on to our toner alright and for our toner we used Wella. This is a color charm, Wella toners. We use two shades 7 11 and 8 11. We didn't have a clue on how to pick a toner out. We should have done more research on that. We ended up picking a light blonde shade and a medium blonde shade, and we just mixed the two, because we just thought it might look good and right here. My sister is just gently applying the toner all over my hair. We just wanted to make sure that the orange was out of my hair from the bleach cuz. This is my hair right after bleach, so toner is supposed to like give you a different shade and yeah. She just was gently applying this all over my head. We did mix this with a 30 volume developer. If any of you were wondering - and you guys can see here - that the pieces closer to the bottom of my hair - we're a lot more lighter because the bleach was in longer so those pieces look a little bit more blond, a slash Orange. So she made sure to apply a lot of extra toner to those parts and I did leave the toner in my hair for about 30 minutes. We didn't wrap my head with anything. If we had, I feel like my hair would have came out a little bit. Lighter but we didn't, but after 30 minutes I did go wash it off with conditioner once again, so here's my hair after the shower this is my hair still wet. So, as you can see, my sister is getting prepared to dry it. So we can really see how the color came out. So, as you can see, a lot of the orangie pieces disappeared. It kind of just blended in super nicely once it dried. I did you know, start curling, my hair, just to really get an idea of how it looked. And honestly I was really happy with how it turned out. I was going for a more natural brown color. My hair was super dark before so, as you can see, I still have some. You know darker tones in my hair, which I don't mind cuz, I feel like it gives it a more natural look, but ultimately I'm just super super happy with how it came out. So this is what it looks like once my hair is curled and done anyways. I really hope you guys enjoyed watching this video. I hope it was helpful to some of you and like always, thank you so much for watching and I'll see you guys in my next video bye

S J: I can hear Brad screaming “color does not lift color!!!!” Lol it looks beautiful!

M: I just did this on myself last week, i always feel extra glowy when i go from black hair to any warmer color. This turned out really pretty. :-)

Vintagebaby Seventy three: I’m a hairdresser and I love your result, well done. The only advice I would give you is don’t use 30 vol to tone. The point of the toner is to deposit tone so use a lower peroxide, hairdressers will usually use a 1.5% or 9 vol to tone but beware, the toner will work faster so watch it closely so you don’t tone out your highlights completely. Your toner will also last longer this way. I’m guessing that your toner washed out quite quickly, this is because of the 30 vol. Hope this helps ♥️

UTAHNNA JONES: OMFG THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING. YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL

Wangi Lima: Your sis definitely is an artist , she did an amazing job and it looks so good on you

Sar Huss: So beautiful! you and your sister made it look easy (which i know in reality may not be the case) but your results are SO tempting to try! I am giving this a go, question, how much 30 vol creme developer did you use for the two boxes of toner?

Kate LaPorta: Great video! 2 questions, 1) my starting hair looks very similar to yours (both color/texture) expect that I do at home Keratin treatments. Without Keratin, my hair would be a frizz ball. Anyone else try this to do this at home Balayage over Keratin treated hair and get good results? 2) do you use a “purple” shampoo/conditioner afterward to keep hair from becoming brassy/orange? Thanks so much, love the video, you’re a beauty!

Reem Ahmed: It looks so stunning, I really like how the tuner corrects the orange hairs. You look beautiful

Maria Diaz: New Subbie !!! Your hair came out Beautiful

NYMOMMY110: Love it. Going to try it on my black hair.

Miriam Bustamante Sanches: It looks really good! You look nice in either hair color.

melissa hernandez: Hi there! ☺️ it’s been awhile since this video so idk if you’ll see this but if you do let me know your thoughts so I had a professional come do my hair, which I’ve been dyeing black for years, and asked for a caramel brown color. Since the black dye is no longer present in my roots she did not use bleach and just applied the color. Now my hair is caramel brown on my roots to about roughly where you could see the brown the first time you added color to your hair in the video. The rest is still very dark. She suggested we wait about a month to continue just adding color and eventually getting to the brown I want in my full hair. I don’t want to wait, what can I do? Bleach everything except my roots, add color, then toner? Or do I bleach everything except my roots, and just add toner?

Kara Heyboer: it looks great! you said you mixes both of the wella colors. what proportions did you mix? did you just dump both bottles out and mix it with the developer or did you take a certain amount of from both bottles? and how much developer did you mix in with the wella? sorry i’m asking so many questions i’m actually dying my hair like this i got all of the products you used

TJ S: It looks natural!

Lovavila: I'm bleaching my (very) dark brown hair soon, in order to dye it an auburn color and I'm so nervous, but this video made me feel a bit better about it <3

Felicia romero: Wow! I have been searching & searching for this certain “Carmel, honey, milk chocolate” color..it’s hard Bc pictures don’t really show the real color.. But OMG, this is it! I am obsessed! I’m definitely going to have it done! *Why is it, when we have to try a few things Bc it didn’t go right the 1st time..is when we get the best results! One time I did my own highlights...When I took the foils out, I looked like I had platinum blond/white, dreads..‍♀️ My mom was laughing so hard, she couldn’t breath!! While I was practically dying & almost crying!! Then it looked orange . (LOL ) So I bought toner..it was purple, so my mom scares me & says “now it’s gonna turn purple!” she scared me a little! But the woman who sold it to me, said that’s what I needed..So I trusted her, she was right! It came out so good! But I’ve never been able to achieve the look again! It was like a goldish Carmel cappuccino color*

Diane Vitale: Looks pretty on you. Been researching online to DIY balayage. What is concerning is how processes/over processing can damage the hair, sometimes greatly. You must have very strong hair for it looks shiny and healthy. Might want to look into what not to dos vs what to do so not to wind up with fried tresses.

Fandom Magnet: It looks so good❤

laura sanderson: It looks very pretty on you

Stella Rose: Thank you for sharing, your hair came out beautiful im actually going to do this too. I love the length of your hair . Im trying to grow mine out but it just doesn't seem to grow, lol im stuck at shoulder length.

Beby Girl: Your sister is Super Fabulous, I wish I had a sister to help me do this type of thing.

Nom Nom: Love it! I have Jet black hair and I always get brown highlights at salon after lots of at home failed efforts. Quick Q. are your hair chemically processed in the length?

Antoinette LeVeque: It turned out so pretty.

sumaiya ahamed elma: Omg gurl you slayed the look!! How much damage do you think the bleach did? Are you seeing any hair fall or did your hair got rough?

Raquelle Rose: Looks beautiful

Patel _n5: Idk really alot about haircoloring stuff but I used to see my mom and grandma use lighter shade like more to blonde to get the brownish haircolor.. And it actually work all the time...i dyed my mom's hair one time and the result was amazing... Ps as I said I'm not pro on these things but it's just an experience ‍♀️

Theez: Omg I think it came out so pretty

Sabren Kh: It looks really good i love the color

Kimberly Diaz: so so pretty! love the results! quick question, did you have virgin hair ? I wanna do this do my hair but I have a lot of box dye in it

Nidhi: Hi there ! The results turned out amazing ! Could you please mention the proportion of bleach, 20vol developer and the colour ?

libraleon: you look great with brown hair!! like a milky chocolate ! my favourite!!

fati8: Beautiful hair, beautiful colour

Kasey Palmer: It looks really pretty ! Maybe next time use like 7ash or 8ash to get rid of any warm tones.

Debby Spencer: This came out so beautiful! I have processed hair so can I just use the toner and developer?

lizzrod: I love it! Did you want it lighter? Or what toner color would you of gone for?

Google User: Do i need to put also the developer that comes from the toner? or just use the developer in the bottle to mix? Also how much developer did you put in toner to color your hair? Thanks

Re Be: Hi can i ask does your sis work in a salon? the end result looks amazing and professional I almost cant believe you did this at home!

Ammna: Hey I wanted to ask how damaging was this to your hair because it still looks so heathy!!

Alma G. Jose: The color turned out gorgeous for you. Can you do this process with previously dyed hair

Noemi Medina: Once your dark hair comes back what would I do to keep it up ? what would you need to do? Just dye it a light brown each time??

Doreen flores: Came out really pretty

J ZIM: looks very pretty

Sabrina Acuna: Hi I’m just wondering what shampoo and conditioner did you use so it won’t break or damage your hair ? And that makes your hair super soft ??

Denise: Wow!❤ I'd like to go for it, but I'm actually really scared about it however, I just wanted to ask you, was your hair natural black or was it previously dyed as black?

MissSousoutheleb: It looks so nice!!! Brad Mondo would be proud

drs 299: How gorgeous you are my God. And that color hair

Paula Lozano: That's a beautiful color ive only highlighted my hair once cuz it really damaged my hair.

Emmet Gin: Is there any particular method that she used to apply the bleach or did she take random chunks of hair and apply the bleach on it?

Xara Kokkinidou: very nice results! :) your hair was box dyed before the bleach?

Mel 21: I think it didn't work the first time bc maybe u could have used the h6 instead h3? Not sure. Maybe . But anyway this came out so nice! :) I love it. I've been wanting to go brown myself. I've done red, ombre, and I did that myself haha but now I want to go brown. I'm gonna do it soon wish me luck :b

Townley: I might do this because i have really dark hair while the rest of my family has brown hair
