Don't Forget To Live Your Extra Life.

Hello, beautiful, you look so good. Thank you for being here today we're watching some people with natural, very, very, very, very coily, curly hair and they're coloring, their hair with box dye, curly, hair, notorious for being dry, notorious for being easily damaged and we're putting box dye on it. It sounds like a combination made in hell, so we're probably gon na see some disasters today. Hopefully somebody can somehow pull it together, because i want to see a cute ass makeover. Okay, i do this. Video is by jazz tv. Oh hello, beautiful people, just tv. Welcome back to another video okay immediately starting off i'm nervous, we have enlisted the help of what looks to be her boyfriend when we get boyfriends involved, things just get shaky real quick, but sometimes these guys pull through. So hopefully it's that kind of thing today and today um i got some hairstyles just because i was just starting to part my hair for this. Oh, what is that that is an interesting looking box um that hair is extremely light. Your hair is extremely dark. How are we getting from there to? There seems not realistic but we'll see, but what it has inside is this developer. Okay, i've never dyed hair. Before great. We have this booster pack to help it lighten more. Then it also comes with the actual hair color. A conditioning treatment and this little argan oil, i'm so confused. She pulled out some hair, colors and developer and then a lightning pack which looked like powder bleach. What is the lightning pack for? Is it a lightning pack and a toner? Don'T quite understand yet but we'll find out. Okay. Here we go okay. So what is the technique here? I'M not seeing a technique. Yet, okay, we're done and uh. This is so hard. Oh, it looks bad, that's his fault. The parting isn't great, but at least we're parting, at least there's something going on in this head, rather than just like guessing what they're doing well, they're, probably still going to gas, but at least there's parts. It doesn't take much to satisfy me these days. So it says to take off the developer thing and put i lift booster. My hypothesis is that the parts in my hair that are already lighter are going to be lighter than the dark parts that i dye, that's kind of obvious. So if this is not bleach, if this is just color, color doesn't live color there's a lot with that to unpack, but probably in this instance, her ends are going to stay the same color and her roots are going to lift a lot. This just sounds sketchy, so what i'm going to do is take the section and then i'm going to take a little section from that section: okay, okay! So we're doing like a balayage moment. This might be okay! Might this is the key word, be okay, we're using foils here all right to just separate the sections. This is a whole arts and crafts project. Already this guy is putting in the work here he's fully saturating those pieces which we love. That'S great. That'S amazing. All right, so we're gon na be doing the same thing to the back i'll, get to you guys when we get a little more progress done. This could be a cute look. Listen, i'm optimistic right now. I think that with the foils with the teasing with everything she's doing, it could be a good look. Then again, maybe totally not oh he's half out already dude put in the work and also are we just picking up random sections and randomly painting it to a certain height. We need a pattern here, however, she does have curly hair, so she can really get away with like kind of up a little bit when your hair is curly every day. Different pieces are gon na, be different. Lengths and everything's just gon na be all around when you're straightening your hair or when you're straightening it and then like waving it or something. You'Re gon na really see those flaws. Curly hair, it's quite forgiving, so we just finished putting this all in okay i'll leave in for another 20 minutes. Probably i'm excited to see the results if she opens these foils and the hair is still brown, which has happened so many times in these videos. I'M gon na be so distraught. I don't need that today. I don't need that type of negativity. Look at this front piece first, so it lifted a lot. It'S getting red, it's not giving! What was on the box. We get a reference picture of that box. It'S not giving this. Oh, that looks, spotty put your hands down because they want to see you take it out. Oh, the teasing is gon na help this a lot, because once they let down that teasing and all those hair fibers go into each other. Like this, the blonde with the dark, you're gon na get a nice gradation of color, it's looking a little sketchy, it doesn't look great so far. You know we've seen things like this happen and then they get better, oh shoot hold on. I told you good night. Oh, my god that is light. What and it blends just like i wanted it to. Does this look really good or what's going on shut up? It does not look this dark in real life. I didn't cut any off. This is how it is it's yo after i fixed it. So all i did was add a hair mask. Wait, sorry, how did that even happen? How does it look that good? This looks like a professional took hours to do this and did a phenomenal job, never mind somebody with a box dye in their bathroom. This doesn't happen to everybody. So don't get your hopes up. Don'T try to do this at home. Okay, guys, i'm shocked. Her hair looks stunning better than i imagined it. Looking and oh, my god, her curls look not damaged at all so hydrated and so flawless. This video is by nikita femna siotula, i'm going to be using these two products: ruby, red and cherry rig. I have never seen that box color before looks very interesting. I'M intrigued. I want to know. What'S in there today, we're going in with full force inside each box. Is the permanent hair, color cream conditioner a set of gloves and a mixing stick right off the bat? I'M a little bit worried about her ends. Um her ends are definitely already compromised with some lightner. So i'm worried about putting that box dye that we don't know the developer of onto those ends and then it's falling off right onto the floor and her being left with one inch of hair which honestly she would rock it. So i'm not really that worried about that, but i don't know what the red is gon na do to her ends. I think it'll be fine. Okay, so now i've mixed both of my cherry red and ruby red dyes into my mixing bowl, and i actually forgot to mention that they both come with these color developer. So i'm not going to be using these two developers today, simply because i know with box dyes the developer that comes with it is not that strong. It only lifts your hair color one to two shades, lighter. That'S so funny! You say that because i feel like the opposite about it, i feel like the developer that comes with the box. Dye is usually extremely strong, especially for reds it's like 30 or 40 volume, because you really want to get your hair lifted right when it comes to these bright, bright, reds we're on two different pages here: i'm using 40 volume cream peroxide, which is developer okay, so She'S mixing her own concoction here, she's putting the 40 volume with the box dye, which, honestly, i would say it's fine for her regrowth, but her ends are going to probably be fried. You don't want to put 40 volume on those ends. I don't know what she's going to do so, why don't we watch it, but i'm still very worried that she's going to put 40 volume over the ends and her ends are gon na fall off. No okay, we're starting we're going in, but it looks like we're. Only doing the regrowth so hallelujah um, because i just really don't want her to touch her ends, but also, how is she gon na make her ends red very confused so far? What she really should do is use 30 or 40 volume with the red color on her regrowth. Let that process rinse it out and then put a glaze over the entire head of an all-around red to then color. Her ends and color them safely, without them breaking off and without putting 40 volume on them, because the 40 volume is too much she's doing it. Well, she's going in there she's separating her hair out, but she is still overlapping onto the blonde parts. No, and there we go, we did the ends, we're doing the end. I really wanted her not to do that. The other risk is that the color molecules might not even stay on the blonde parts because you're already taking compromised hair, then you're blasting, the cuticle open with 40 volume and then you're, trying to inject those red color molecules inside the hair, which are really big molecules And then they're, probably just going to slip right out when she washes it and she's, probably gon na, be left with like pink hair rather than deep red, because they're just not gon na stick. You need to use like a demi permanent color in order to make them stick better, and you probably need to do it multiple times. Um, because porous hair doesn't like to hold red molecules. It'S getting red, so we're getting somewhere. I'M going to cover my head in a plastic bag i'll come back when i have washed my hair okay. So these are her results. After doing that and they're not gon na cut, it see how her ends ended up pink, it's because it was already blonde and you're trying to put 40 volume you're trying to blast the cuticle open. It'S not gon na. Stick, it's not gon na look right! She'S! Now gon na have to go in with more color. Obviously, it is not the red that i wanted, so i went ahead and ordered um a product from revlon, which is the color conditioner, and this was going to give me the shade of red that i actually wanted. She'S using a conditioning hair color, which is a semi-permanent color and that's going to be great because that is going to probably stick way better than 40 volume with permanent color on her porous ends. Yes, oh this is already looking good, oh and i'm glad she's combing. It through with conditioning colors, that's totally fine to do wait. She looks stunning and my fingers are still stained wow. This is her color just turn around, so you can see how i look ciao. I love it like. I really really do love it. She is glowing. This is the perfect red for her. This cool toned red her skin is actually more on the neutral side. Looking at this video, so i think the cool tones really look great um. I would even love a warmer red, but this looks beautiful and she's glowing and she looks fabulous and i'm so happy. It came out good, even though it was looking very iffy. At one point i was about to walk off this set. I was like. I can't go through this today. This video is by wrong karaji. I am dyeing my hair today because i know how to dye my hair, this specific color, which is like a ginger. It'S not really blonde, i'm definitely afraid of bleach. So i would much rather just use my box dye, i'm literally obsessed with watching brad mundo. Videos well welcome into the video. Thank you for watching. Bran mundo is this guy who's a hairdresser and he reacts to like hairdresser. Videos doesn't really like box dye from what i've seen, but i'm using box there, because i feel like bleach is just scary and yes, i could get a better blonde with bleach, but it's okay, whatever color i get. I stick with because i like it and i just really want my hair to be lighter, so here's the thing there is something else besides box, dye and bleach, and that is professional color. You do not necessarily need to be professional to buy it. You can go to somewhere, like sally's beauty supply and you can buy professional color and you can accomplish the same task that you would have with box eye with professional color, and it doesn't have to be that difficult. But i understand what you're saying i do you just don't know what you're getting in the box die. It'S scary, two boxes of this color, which is light golden blonde two boxes of this color, which is more of a honey blonde. Why do we have two different colors, though, and also it's interesting, that you're you're trying to go ginger but you're, using like platinum blonde, and i understand that you know that it's not going to end up platinum blonde. But it's interesting that you're buying a box color that is made for like blonde blonde, but you want to go ginger. This is the issue with box dye. It'S like what's on the package is not what you're going to get and you really don't know what you're going to get, but as long as you're, okay with the unknown, maybe box eye, is fine for you. I had to go to the bathroom to do the back, because i couldn't do my hair just not looking. I wanted to be very precise, okay, so she did the back in foils and it looks like we're doing a little bit of an ombre thing. So what are you doing? Let me take that. What are we doing? Do you see this section of hair yeah? I take some dye. I squeeze it into my hand. Usually what i'll do is i'll, just scatter it everywhere. Okay, the issue here, though, is that we're putting color on top of color you're, not gon na, be able to lighten your hair effectively with color over color. So your ends are probably gon na stay, the same level or just like a half a shade lighter, and it's just gon na cause a lot of damage. You need to use bleach on your ends. If it's already colored, you need to use bleach so use like 20 volume and powder and put it on there. Maybe don't put foils in if you don't want your hair too light, but if you're trying to make the ends later, it's not going to happen. This way turn to a good dye. Job is to not to do the roots, so i'm putting the dye only on this section of my hair look at her going in and doing a great job, i'm not doing the roots, i'm leaving about an inch just because the roots process faster, because your scalp Has heat if you watch his videos, he repeats this over and over again. So it's something that i have learned. Oh, it makes me so happy. She learned that when you put color on your scalp, it processes faster because of the heat from your scalp, which is so true, and that's why she's doing her ends first, however, you need to use lightner next time. It sounds like she's gon na do her roots. After i'm excited to see, what's not looking at what's gon na happen, but i don't know if it's gon na be a great result. You should probably opt for like 30 volume and color on your roots and then use like 20 volume and lightener on your ends. For the remaining time that way, you get an even lift all throughout. So i'm going to use the clairol lightest blonde for my roots, i will start off in the back, then i guess in the front. I will still do the honey blonde. Just in case this one bottle is lined up, i got it so she's using the. I think the lighter color on her ends and the darker color in her roots, which makes sense, but color doesn't lift color. So it doesn't make sense in this instance, and now she's gon na, take all the foils out and put color all over her root. This might work again, i'm gon na start from the bottom. It'S actually already lightening. Oh, it does look a bit lighter. This is interesting. I need the bathroom mirror because i'm not about to do this on camera, but i like it that it's already lighting i'm going to wash it out. Oh, my god, because i don't want to leave it in for any longer, because my ends are so bright, we're getting so much lighter, sometimes hair color theory doesn't stand up to the test because sometimes color does lift color, even though we're all told that it doesn't. It sometimes does so don't come after me because it did work in this instance which i'm happy about this blonde color. I use my clairol that i oh it's really light. I'M enlightening my hair a lot better than dark and lovely we're not getting ginger anymore you're. Fully blonde bright blonde like when i first looked at it, i was like. Oh my goodness, i remember what this light, but i fell in love with it. I was just like. Oh it's cute. What the way her hair is styled. The darker ginger root with the blonde ends and the outfit and the makeup and her in general, this is magical. Why is everything turning out so good today? Keep in mind that dye or any type of chemical is going to loosen your curl pattern. I moisturize my hair, so as i'm touching it, it feels really soft. You honestly got really lucky, though, like don't try that again, you may not get as lucky um, but it looks fabulous and wow. Your curls are beautiful and they're still intact. Thank god, because i would hate to see those curls go away anytime soon. You guys always amaze me in some of my hair just reacts videos when i'm expecting everything to go wrong. It like somehow all goes right like i really don't understand what just happened, but i'm happy for all of you that were in today's video that it came out beautiful anyways, if you guys haven't followed me anywhere else, do it up here all my social media handles, Including x model hair and x, mondo color, you can also shop any of my hair care or my hair color with the links down below that is all for today. Guys. Thank you so much for watching and don't forget to live your extra life i'll, see you next time. Bye!

lulianaxx: I like how brad doesn't talk down successful results. Some professionals will emphasise the bad to prevent the public from continuing to DIY services but rather he is honest and if it looks good it looks good! I think that's nice because not everyone can afford it and rather than gatekeeping hair, he tries to educate people to do the best they can for themselves. Kudos to you brad!

The Littlest Pika: Brad is so sweet, dude. I love that he isn't rude regardless of the results.

Tank CityQueen: Brad you've given my man such a false sense of confidence he's tryna drag me to Sally's to buy bleach lol

Nicky Shaw: So stoked to see a fellow South African be represented As soon as I saw those products I knew lol. You go girl, you look amazing!!

Aaron: Dark n lovely & creme of nature box dyes are pretty commonly used for ppl with Afro hair. It’s a well known trick, we buy the platinum blonde box dyes for a ginger/blondish tone. I don’t know the science but it always lifts nicely and turns out well somehow :)

Marjorie Jean - Marc: Straight hair people: the hair dye process has to be precise and meticulously strategized *Comes out perfectly* Curly hair people: Nah bro, I'm just gonna wing it *Still comes out perfectly* I love it!

Romero25: I love how Brad is so respectful of all hair types.. he always uses the right words such as coily, natural, curly instead of bias words such as kinky, bad hair, ethnic hair. Brad knows ALL Hair is GOOD Hair. Love your videos.

Christopher Wilson: I love how Brad is still learning how magical Black hair is. His box dye expectations really don’t apply to the natural hair community cause we know we built different, especially with crème of nature

Danielle Vaughn: I'm not a cosmetologist and don't know much about the "science" of hair, but I'm African American, 3C to 4A type, dark hair. I've used boxed dyes at different points in my life and they've always come out great. I remember going to Supercuts and the stylist was trying to dissuade me from doing color because she said my hair was too dark and you wouldn't hardly to be able to tell. It would be a waste of my money. I picked a golden copper color. I told her I'd done it before and it would come out just fine. She was unconvinced, but did it any way. When she was done shampooing and saw that my hair had actually changed color she was Oh my God! It actually took. You were right. Look at this. I'm like "I see it Sis."

Ailicia Miachelle: I love his shocked face when he sees unexpected results. It’s so genuine and hilarious. He’s like “what?!?”

Jassiepoohbear🍯: As a girl with 3c/4a hair, I have a hard time trusting salons to do my hair. I always get better results when I do it myself.

Opinionated: Quick note, natural hair can feel (but not be) dry due to the coarseness associated with it. It's hard to explain in a YT comment, but people typically associate "moisturized feel" with silky/soft hair, so when they feel coarse natural hair they think it's dry. It can be, but not as frequent as Brads comments in multiple videos make it seem. Just thought I would share that because I always hear this misconception.

Indigo Ashanti: I am a Black woman with type 4 hair. I've used creme of nature box dyes for blonde several times. It comes with a booster and lifter (I don't remember the exact terms but basically there's a gentle bleach) the hair definitely lifts and I've never had an issue with damage because these boxes come with conditioners and/or conditioning ingredients and textured hair needs extra love and care

Felicia Smith: Not gonna lie, I've had better results with my natural hair and box dye vs going to a salon and letting a professional doing it. Actually about to do a big chop as I recently went blonde ; while the stylist told me my hair was healthy and strong enough to do the blonde-- my hair broke off when I went back to get it touched up. ‍♀️‍♀️

Ashlie Jermaine: Brad: Why is everything turning out so good today?? Me: three words Brad..... Black. Girl. Magic.

GG: Some people cannot afford going to a professional to have their hair done, it takes maintenance, such as retouches, etc. that costs money. My mom does not have that luxury, and uses box dyes. I'm glad Brad does not act like an elitists and instead embraces people with love and provides tips to help them be more successful. While their execution will never at the level of a pro, his tips help people.

Tamia Green: Hi Brad!!!! As a south African I'm soooo proud of you for including 2 south African YouTubers videos. It really means alot. And that inecto brand hair dye is very cheap and common here but also is very strong hence the red bright hair

miasoarussrex: Brad, you’ve taught me how to do hair I feel like I could go to cosmetology school just dyed my hair red over a brown hair dye from Sally’s and it’s so bright and beautiful , I feel like you definitely helped a lot.

Camryn Aldridge: HONESTLY, Brad. Ive never had issues with the creme of nature bleaching kits. I do think they may be made differently because they are for Afro- hair. However, I've learned and paid attention to you and other factors in my process and do stick to just getting bleach, developer and whatever color I feel like adding.

Hailey Franck: Brad Mondo has taught me SO much about hair I literally LOVE him sm

miya howard: Brad: “Don’t try this at home, it doesn’t always come out this good okay?” Me:…… getting ready to try this at home

Not Your Average GLOW Up: Brad: “why is everything looking good today?” Me: black girl magic ✨ yall KILLed this

Nicole Anagnostou: I screamed at everyone's result! All these women look amazing.

Kelly Broomfield: Brad, I need to see a complete train wreck because of box dye use. I feel like they turn out great in a lot of the videos you share…. and it’s making me want to try them again for the first time in years.

Kelly Hart: I absolutely love when Brad says***WHAT!?** Everyone of these turned out beautiful and each lady looked Stunning ❤️

MarvelousSandstone: All of those results turned out really well. Was surprised too because usually at least one turns out a bit questionable. Curly hair does hide some sins a bit better though so that might have helped too where the blending wasn't that great.

T Black: So in about 1979 my blonde girlfriend decided to give herself some even blonder highlights. I had dark brown hair and decided I would use the same thing and give myself some highlights...just a few. Left it in for 45 minutes.. turned my hair white....so at 9pm (in the 70's in my lil town EVERYTHING closed by 10) I'm RUNNING to the store for dark brown dye to cover this up...it was hilarious !!

Courtney P: My favorite was 14:42. Her hair (& herself) looked flawless to me. Love the diversity in hair types you chose to react to.

West: He always says “we don’t know what developer the box dye is”, but it actually tells you. It says in the ingredients and in the directions. Sometimes it even says on the bottle you mix it in. I’m surprised he doesn’t know this. And btw. 90% of the time it’s 30 volume.

Mightywwf ELL: I have dyed my hair multiple times blonde with box dye. They come with a booster pack to get blonde. It depends on how long you leave it in.

ur mom: Can we take a moment to appreciate his knowledge like- Why can’t you be my hairdresser?

Livia Wood: you always call us beautiful but brad… you’re GORGEOUS ❤️❤️❤️

TaylorPlays: thats the thing with curly hair, itll look it’ll look weird while its wet then when it dries, it looks fabulous because our curls cover blotches

Laura Eliza: I love when Brad is proud of someone when they do a good job

Laneé Smith: I never had color before because I was always afraid of ruining my texture but Brad’s videos makes me wanna dye my curly hair (professionally of course because I don’t trust myself )

It's Too Late to Apologize: I was a hairstylist for 13 years and I have found that if permanent colour was used but it was going lighter than the natural colour and it has really faded, than you can achieve a bit of lift with colour on top of it. The porosity of they hair can affect this also. The more porous the more likely to lift. If on the other hand the permanent colour was darker than the natural colour, even if it has faded, if it’s still darker than the natural colour you will get little (maybe half a shade as Brad said) or no lift at all with colour on top of colour. If the hair had been previously bleached, you might get lucky with a bit more lift, and depending on the thickness of the hair (fine hair lifts easier but also looks darker when depositing pigment). Good luck DIYers!! I wish you good results as everyone in this video got. Curly hair hides a lot of oopsies.

Ms. Robinson: "doesn't take much to satisfy me these days" Same brad, same

Krystal Huston: For the very first time i used bleach and didnt feel terrified because of watching your videos. I bleached streaks into my daughters hair and put purple semi permanent dye over it. And thanks to you i knew to use SEMI AND DEMI as opposed to permanent....so THANK YOU again

Shy B: The dark and lovely line is pretty good. I used to use the orange ginger one. I have switched over the color depositing conditioners now. When I went to a salon for that color she jacked up my hair

A N: i'm never going to get over how nice it is when brad intros and calls me beautiful lmao like I usually hate when cheesy shit is said to a general audience that the ytber doesn't know, but it just really gets me, u kno?

Getoutovjailfree: I love how Brad starts with an "Ooohhhh" that sounds happy and excited and follows with "That looks spotty". Keep the positivity going

Last: I am a random dude with no interest in hair or knowledge about it, and I've watched like 8 of your videos just because of your personality, lol. Very kind and fun energy while still honest and clearly knowledgeable even though I cannot confirm or deny anything you said about hair lmao. It's a pleasure just to listen to you talk. No wonder you're so successful. Keep it up. edit: Btw if you're wondering how I found your videos, it was through Dr. Mike.

Patsy Boykin: That creme of nature box dye is the business ...lightest blonde is my favorite❤️.. her curl pattern is beautiful and her bf did an awesome job

Pretty Gang: I’m natural and wanted to dye some part of my hair red but because it was my first time, I didn’t wanna use actual bleach so I used a blonde box dye for natural hair then used a semi permanent red and it came out bomb!

DeAnna Scott: I love these natural hair videos ❤️ I also love that Brad doesn’t act like an expert when it comes to this stuff. Just watching and getting educated

Tamara Talbert: I work at an ethnic beauty supply store and I cannot figure out the witchcraft in these boxes (I am a licensed stylist that specializes in color correction)!!! Textures and Tones brand haircolor is insane!!

Kimberly Carson: I know he can't see me, but I still like when Brad tells me I look good as I sit in sweats looking Sunday night slob.

Alicia Renon: Coming from someone who has very similar texture to the first girl, you’re not kidding when you say curly hair is very forgiving. I trim, layer, and thin my own hair nowadays and when it’s curly I can barely tell a difference between what I do and what my stylist has done in the past. I just don’t dare straighten it I do semi-permanent color on my own but would never do any other chemical processing myself. I’m not that brave, especially as a natural redhead.

Tayla's Rabbits: Brad Mondo I like your content, that is why I try and keep on watching your videos in the last couple minutes of it being posted. Keep on making great content ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

nformusic: As a curly girl, I trim my hair myself every 3-4 months or so. I’m sure my hair is CRAZY uneven. But nobody’s gonna know.

Selene Fernandez: I have used INECTO for years, it's a good brand. Also yeah box die is pretty good at lifting color I have gotten from a 3 to a 5,7 without bleaching

Ana Jagarinec: I have gone from red hair (my natural colour is dark brown) to blonde by myself because hair salons are extremely expensive in my city and as a college student I'm not really able to afford professional hair care. I just watch a bunch of tutorials, read articles and try to be as careful as possible every time I do something to my hair, and it turns out quite good. I haven't fryed my hair..yet :)

Marie Woodward: Hi Brad. Every single time you say "Hello Beautiful" I think your talking to me and others. It's very refreshing. I'm tired of guys calling cute. I'm to old to be cute. I love how you get excited when a disaster never happens, just the opposite happens. You are truly a great man. BTW your cute af. As always thank you for sharing and enjoy your upcoming week

debz242: Yess as a curly haired lady, box dyes are scary

faithfullyblind: Love your hair Brad! Looks amazing on you! Also LOVE that you painted your nails black! As always thank you for all your hard work. Honestly can't tell you how much I appreciate you. You inspire me to step out of my comfort zone and I couldn't be more greatfull.

MissMargaret: My husband has always been clutch in a hair emergency. He’s an engineer, so if you give him directions, he will follow them to a tee. He would be the first one to look at the whole box and say “but your hair is this dark one and it says it will look like this darker color, not the box color. Is this going to be a problem in 45 minutes?”

Shel: I live for these videos! But I can’t say much. I just bleached my hair and then colored it.

LilHairGal78: Before I became a hair dresser(Hairstylist for the pros watching lol) I used boxed dyes, and I did do blond a couple of times, and I can confirm(not even by reading the boxes) that it is bleach(lightener for the pros watching.), as it did have the lightener grittiness, and my hair did feel like straw at the end. So that being said, the girl at the end, which I loved the end result, it looked so cute with it all dried, did use a form of bleach within those boxed blond colors. They must use different volumes to control the tones.

UniCat: Curly hair can really get away with almost anything. I've noticed that a lot when looking for hair color inspiration. Even stylists who don't do that great of a job on straight hair will then curl it, and it looks amazing. But if you wear it straight, it looks horrible. Curly hair supremacy, wish I had it!

Phedencia Prentice: I really be feeling myself when Brad says "hello beautiful ". I remember buying a box dye and kept it for 3 years but was too nervous to dye my hair. The most I've done was a rinse that was done by a professional over a decade ago

Aerodil: Ah, Brad! I was binging all your other videos when I got the notification. I love your videos and learned so much. So, thank you for the FREE knowledge on how to do hair. It means a lot, especially since I got an ugly, short '90s hair for dang near a decade. Thanks again.

Kati Rey Maximus: A South African girrrlllll! That is a well known South African hair color brand. Our box dye developer is weaker from my experience you need a cosmetology license to get the good color brands here. The second lady she is so beautiful that beautiful Home girl accent!!!! Love her ❤

Ms A: **Me watching even though I stopped dying my hair several years ago and have natural silver streaks in dark brown hair** All of these women were absolutely GORGEOUS!

Natalie: So I ended up trying to do balayage with bleach in my bathroom. Such a good idea as we all know. The only footage I have is like a 22nd Snapchat that was to my friend as I took out a foil that was the one I was taking out first… And then the video pretty much stopped because I freaked the fuck out. I literally had Tony the tiger stripes. Buy had I mean half. I still have Tony the tiger stripes. Also I decided to start with the right side of my head. This was two months ago… So I have been parting my hair in the most stupid ass way because only one side of my head was “done” What the fuck was I thinking. I literally spent six months watching YouTube videos and trying to learn balayage techniques… Then I guess I freaked out in my head and went blank and pretty much data backwards balayage/upside down balayage I should say… So it was super super chunky on top and then the bottom was just kind of like no thank you. Sorry this is long I am talking to text as I walk. I really don’t know how to submit a video… Just the other week, I purchased another at home bleaching kit to fix my mistakes… Probably will not document that one because I have hopes that it will be at least slightly better/not be Brad Mondo worthy. I spent my 30th birthday two weeks ago looking like that

bocoy noiu: I love these natural hair videos ️ I also love that Brad doesn’t act like an expert when it comes to this stuff. Just watching and getting educated

Alix Guidice: With our natural hair the rule is- there is no rules ! you never know what you’re gonna get and there aren’t enough salons with stylists trained on coloring our hair without damaging it . Hope this changes someday and all stylists are cross trained on natural textures

DancingOnGlass89: I feel these worked so well because they aren't the average loreal or w.e colour. I've used both that type and ones like these that are catered to curly hair and I feel the formulas are actually made really well.I've never had a miss with them.

Monique Damphousse: Brad, I love watching your videos. It doesn't matter what mood I'm in when I tune in to one of yours, because I always end up with a smile on my face. Your voice, your attitude and your sheer joy just make me feel so happy. Thanks for being you. <3

Aliyah T: The box dyes targeted to lightening natural hair do generally work pretty well and are fairly gentle. I used one maybe 2 years ago and loved it. They do have a little bit of bleach in them (I only used half of it when I did mine), that’s what the lightening packet is but it’s still way less bleach than normal. As long as you stay away from the roots it usually turns out well.

Argus Fleibeit: I don't know, Brad. All my life I used box dye, and it lightened my brown hair to various shades of red, from a deep red to strawberry blond. At one point I used a very blond box dye over my strawberry blond former color, and yes, I was BLOND. I didn't like it, so I went back to a darker color the next week. People like box dye because it is measured out and tested for safety and predictable results. The reason these home box dyes usually turn out fairly OK, is because the major hair color companies put out a good product. At one point I had a friend in hairdressing school, and she taught me how to go to Sally's and buy professional color and what kind of developer. I did it for a while, but eventually went back to box dye. It was much easier. Garnier Fructis is what I've been using for years, once I found a tone I really like.

Kelly Snowe: Watching your channel has made me really appreciate my hair stylist and her skills. I was talking about your channel with her and how I had no reference for how strong 40 developer was, and my hair dresser goes "When I highlight your hair I use 7 developer." And I was like . Eek!

Sophia Ramirez: I’ve used that Creme of Nature brand before. It is amazing and hydrates my curls SO WELL! Specifically made for curly haired girls :)

Amber Carter: THANK YOUUUU Brad for doing another natural hair video! It makes me feel included and inspires me to try different colors (of course not box dye haha). I got my hair dyed and colored for the first time this year (I'm 22) and used your orange!! I didn't think I could love my hair anymore but here I am so just thank you all around

It's my Daisy life: Brad, Brad, Brad. No, no, no. You are correct. Believe in what you know is true. Hair dye does not lighten hair dye. There's no mistery here. These are not actual box hair colors. The lightest shades of color in the Dark n Lovely & Creme of Nature brands are basically hair lightening kits. They totally have bleach. People may think they're not usin bleach but Baby, they totally are. They are intended to lighten African American hair & that's why I've been using these for years. I'm not African American but I know that shits gonna work on my dark roots or if I wanna get fun colors out. Anyway, hope this clears some things up for ya. Love ya Gorgeous boy!✌&❤

Ollie: i wish brand mondo content existed when i was in high school and constantly dying box color over box color i didnt even know i could buy powder bleach plus the way he eductaes and supports people exploring hair color is so nice and informative!

ak: you know since i watch your videos, i go with the same opinion: you can buy professional colour and do the job yourself :D i think it works very good and with brads tips you learn sooooo much and have fun, thank you ❤️

MRZ QUINTIN: Low key hate how brad equates non oily/greasy hair to dry. FYI if you don’t moisturize your hair it’s going to be dry, but our hair is not synonymous with dryness because we most certainly moisturize our hair as well. It looked “dry” because it’s not oily, but if touch healthy natural hair it is DEFINITELY soft.

Jessica Millslagle: I am 48 seconds into the video, I have to say that my boyfriend is a professional hairdresser. He does everything for my hair. That being said, it's the exception, not the rule... He also watches your videos. We love you brad!

JimBearOne: Box Dye is not the monster “So-Called” Professional Stylists say it is. It can give good results if you are careful. INECTO ®️ is an O L D brand and has been around the salons since the 1930’s but is no longer sold in the USA. ALL Box Dyes use 10 Volume or 20 / 25 Volume or 30 Volume Maximum for some Blondes and Reds or High-Lift Browns for Dark Hair.

Anxious Blobfish: Omgggggg. Women with natural hair just look like queens no matter what they do. These results are all incredible!!! My mousey dry hair is so jealous ❤️

Kim R: I’m already excited I looove Ronkeraji. Been following her for years ❣️ These results on all of these gorgeous women are absolutely stunning. Natural, curly hair is so beautiful to me.

Jacks: We Stan Brad. Thank you for representing for us black and mixed women with natural hair!

Maria Louise: Quick question; When colouring coily hair, is it harder to get the hair completely saturated with the colour?

Kibibi: I love that cream of nature box dye! You still have to be realistic with the color results but it’s nice for curly hair girls if you just want a little color on the ends or some highlights

Lady Macan: This is the first time that I’ve watched this channel, but I am already a fan! I appreciate the way that Brad featured and discussed our hair type. Wonderful

DemonAngelSakina: I've been very sick for the last week (still not recovered yet), and Brad's positivity and vids are making recovery so much easier.

Utopia K.: This video actually had me curious. I don’t know to many natural gals who dye their hair. When I dont know what to do with my own 4c hair I just throw on a wig and keep it moving. ‍♀️

spoutingfiction: Black and mixed hair magic. The power of a fresh wash and day after fro!

Candy Best: Love these successes as well as the reactions from Brad I find color (even box color) *can* lift color, if it's a high volume and veeery light shade. Not always, and not always the lift you want (watch out for green when lifting black, purple and blue), but yeah. Very light box color can work like medium volume bleach Brad, will you be making a box dye kit for us? I'd go for it

Joachim Seidel: I feel like when I see Brad‘s videos and everything turns out right it’s a good omen

Jason Todd: Splat box dye is very good when it comes to pigmentation and matching the color it's supposed to be. Obviously it'll work a lot better with lighter hair, but it even works good with darker hair.

Diamond&Zander'sTV2: I love how shook Brad is from our bgm✨ these box dyes usually don't strip our hair. I think it really depends on what's been done to the hair previously, which gives the results. I love Brad's shook'ness each time

Desi-May: Brad: curly hair’s notorious for being dry. Me with thick curly hair that’s as oily as f*ck:

Аня Видус: funny story: when i was blond and my mom was fixing my roots every time when we had extra bleach she would put it on already bleached hair (it happened about 3 times) and somehow my hair stayed on my head, but of course over time, hair has become thinner and I've got to cut my ends off((

Glam Cat: Edit: Now that I've watched the whole video, all 3 girls are gorgeous and their hair all turned out so well! Shook.

Lozza: Box dyes have come a long way Brad, you should try one! Lol No seriously!! These girls have done a great job

Shalom W: Love these hair DIY videos he reacted to. Their hair came out lovely. I wish my hair would bleach so easily. I’m Asian and my hair doesn’t bleach easily. I was told to bleach without using heat so my hair will be less damaged but that I can’t do any straightening or waves if I’ve bleached my very dark hair. Wonder what suggestions Brad would have for our hair type. ^^ Thanks.

Jesus disciple: brad I've been using box dye for 20 yrs and my hair has always been healthy and the color always stays beautiful.

andrewthezeppo: Box dyes work if you do it right and have the right hair for what you want. I used L'Oreal Feria all through middle school when it was like the cool boyband/punk thing to do to bleach your hair. Then during pandemic I just had a what the heck moment and it was amazing, like pure platinum children of the corn, Khaleesi white

hannah gest: I love watching these and they reminded me don't do my own hair ever again My hair is dark I turned bright yellow/orange panicked and ended up at the hairdressers anyway
