#fabulous50s #antifrizz #longhairstyle

Today, i'm going to show you how to take your hair from this to this. It'S very simple: it's a new technique that i've learned and i'm really excited to share it with you, hi i'm shelly and welcome to fabulous 50s. This is my hair without any love at all, i've washed it overnight. Let it dry naturally - and this is what i've got so i'm going to show you how to smooth it down and how to get a beautiful wave and curl in your hair, and this is going to apply to long hair, short, hair or fine hair. So we're going to use a curling iron and a clip, that's it we're going to section our hair off, put it all up, let it cool and then come back and you're going to see how my hair transforms magically. So let's get started and i'm going to share with you the shampoo i use. Clearly my hair is dry and it's got blonde through it, so it's kind of a little bit damaged, but not split. So i use the moroccan oil, shampoo and conditioner, and this one is sulfate free and it's really moisturizing so most times when i try shampoos, they just don't do anything, but this is great and i swapped that up with the argan oil, this is art naturals. This one here i get on amazon, it's very moisturizing as well. Also sulfate, free, it's sulfate free. It'S really important if you've got hair like mine, because we don't want to be adding anything into it, that's going to dry it out, and it's just putting chemicals in our hair that our head just doesn't need. So this is what i swap it up this one and this one and after i shampooed my hair last night, i sprayed it with the moroccan oil heat protecting spray, which i love and you can use that one on wet or dry hair, and then i use More products, on top when i style my hair, so i'm going to show you that now, i'm just going to get my cooler and heat it up and i'll be back. Okay, let's get started we're going to need a curling iron and we're going to need clips for your hair and that's pretty much it plus some product to protect the hair when you're curling it and to give you hold. So i'm going to use a couple of different products and i'll show you what they are as i use them, and this is an old curling iron that i have. I love my t3, which i've left in sydney. So i'm going to use this one. It doesn't really matter which curling wand you use use whatever you've got. If you want something that is amazing, the t3 is fantastic and it adds shine and smoothness. But this old thing is good, so use whatever you've got and first step is we're going to section our hair, starting from this middle section and we're going to go down that part of our hair first. So we're going to take our hair up brush it out and then we're going to spray a product in it. So my first one i'm going to show you is the caviar anti-aging texturizing spray. This one is a spray. That'S going to give your curl hold, but not crunchy hold and not a heavy hold, so we're going to take our curling wand and take our hair and wrap it around and then we're going to hold it for a moment not too long, because we don't want To leave too much heat in our hair and then we're going to grab it at the bottom and slip that out and then take the clip and hold it into place so we're holding that curl until it dries, and it's so good. It'S smoothing and it's easy. It'S kind of like doing hot rollers, but it's a lot less hassle, so we go down the center of the back of our head first and this time i'm going to use liquid texture medium hold by white sands. A hairdresser told me about this and she recommended. I use it for my hair because it's great for frizz and it gives your curl a great hold without making it crunchy and stiff, because i really like soft curls and i like my hair, to be soft when it's all finished. So we'll do this one. When you add a spray or a product to your curl, it helps so much and compared to not having anything in and just doing a curl. It'S a huge difference on frizzy hair. So we're going to take that one out just pull that out and then put your little clip in okay, i'll continue on with the rest of my back. Okay, now we're going to go to the sides. The sides we curl out and up and take your hair in sections again - and this is another beautiful beautiful product. It'S called matrix miracle creator and this one is really smoothing again, not crunchy, no crunch in any of these products and they're all fantastic. So we're going to curl outwards and up so you just hold let the heat do its work and i've already got a heat protector in my hair from last night so hold, and then we clip it in get those little ends and then we just go through And do the rest the same way? This whole thing only takes about 10 minutes. So if you have curly frizzy hair, like me, you'll know to do your hair takes a lot longer than 10 minutes, because it just takes forever to blow dry it to start with, and when you blow dry it it's still frizzy, usually and then you've got to Curl it individually, so this is taking out the blow dry step, which saves us so much time. Okay, let's go to the next side. My curling iron just died. I told you i haven't used it for a while uh, so i've got another one, but not my great one, but we're still going to get a great result. So let's keep curling. Okay, that's my whole hair done and i've kind of got it messy. It'S definitely not perfect, but that's how i like my hair to be when you go and get a blow dryer at the salon. They straighten it out. First, make it smooth and then put the curl on top and for me that doesn't work because the curl just drops and my hair looks flat and i like body, because it gives me a little face - lift big hair and full hair lifts your face. So, okay, i'm going to be 10 minutes and i'll, see you soon. Okay, we're back so i've. Let my hair cool and i'm going to take out all of those clips and, let's see what happens, the secret to this look is letting the products and the heat and the curl do their work. And then you let it cool and the cooling sets it. So it stays in for longer and if you've ever tried just curling your hair with a curling wand and then letting it go, it doesn't stay for long. It doesn't hold for very long. So this changes all of that. Okay. First thing: you're going to notice is your hair is very, very curly, but that's okay! That'S what we want, because when it's like this, you know that the curl is going to stay. It'S going to be with you for a long time, so start separating it with your fingers and if you have the opportunity and a little bit of time, leave your hair like this for a bit longer and just let the curl sort of fall out a little Bit and then we go in and we brush it out, just gently though, because we don't want these crazy curls, so just gently brush it out. So it's going to take a little bit of work to get your hair. The way that you like it just keep brushing it up, i like to add a little bit of height, because that looks better on me. So i'm just going to tease that up a little bit when you tease your hair, go like this one. At a time. Don'T do that because it'll ruin your hair, okay, so just keep playing with your hair until you're happy with it and when you are we're going to add one more product and i'm going to show you what that is we're going to use this oil. This is a dry oil, it's caviar, anti-aging anti-frizz. I love anti-frizz and you don't spray this over your hair because it is going to make your hair really heavy and look oily. So you do this. Instead, you spray a couple of sprays on your hand, rub it together, and then you start at the bottom and then you go out. You pull your hair out, okay, because you want to make it fuller and not bring it down. So we just very gently coat. Our hair in this dry oil, and that is going to give our hair some shine and a little bit of moisture. So if we just went all over you're going to find your your hair drops because of the heaviness of the oil. But this is dry. Oil and it's very light, okay, and then, on top of that, you can put some more of your texturizing spray and spray and crunch, and this is a beautiful light spray. So if you want your hair to move when you're out and about something like this is really great for you and you can also sort of bring your hair out, like this add some volume and then really pull your curls in that one doesn't look great. So i'm going to give it a little fix, but there you go. That was really easy. It'S super simple! These everybody can get some of these and a curler. You can use your ghd straightener as well and smooth your hair and then clip in the curl. So it's just a new thing for you to try. I really hope you enjoyed it. I hope you will try this on your hair. Jennieo H: I love these curls!!!! thank you so much for the tips, I am going to try the curl and clip method tommorow!!! I'm so excited :*) You are a great inspiration, I actually cut a blouse that was long and frumpy yesterday and made it into a center knot!!! Babs R: I really love your videos as they are specifically desinged for woman over 50, which I am, but I think I am too lazy and maybe a little frugal to do all this to my hair, but your hair looks great. Jody Mead: So helpful! My hair is like yours too. I haven't even watched yet but I know I'm gonna love it!! Thanks Schellea

I have been a mom for so many years and now it’s time for me and I love your videos because they give me those helpful hints or tricks or great ideals to make me feel better. Plus your voice is very Pleasant to listen to.

Miriam Fernandez: Love how your hair turned out, you look so beautiful. Thank you so much for teaching me your styling technique, as I have the same kind of hair. Take care & stay safe!

Svetlana Vukolic: My hair is exactly the same as yours and these tips are so helpful! When I was young I just had to let my hair airdry and it had the most beautiful big curls. Now it is impossible to get descent hair without s lot of effort and styling. And the right products make all the difference. Thanks a lot!!

K Black: You and your hair are so beautiful! Thank you for the styling tips, I have long, frizzy, naturally unruly curly hair - going to give your tips a try!

CF: Although I have a pixie cut, I always enjoy your tips and tricks. My daughter has long hair. I am going to share his with her. Thank you so much for inspiring me in so many ways!

Mozelle Brunelle: I used to have heavy straight thick hair. Went through a life changing illness and now I've got thinner frizzy wavy hair. Thanks for showing me how to work with this new texture of hair!

Tina Mc: I love your video! My hair texture and color are almost exactly like yours, but mine is about 4 inches shorter. This video is so helpful to me. Your instructions were super! I can’t wait to try it !

Andressa Venancio: Omg I was so excited for you to teach this technique I am so excited to try it on my hair ❤️❤️

Tammy Roy: We have twin hair Thank you so much for this - I’m definitely giving it a try! Happy Christmas Xo Tammy Roy

Kathya Kalinine: This was very helpful! Beautiful as usual! ♥️

Kim Carr: This is a really easy routine for anyone with hair in this range of length. I haven't tried it because I do curly girl but I'd hop on this right away as others have said they are going to do. Her hair is NOT too long for her or anyone for that matter. This is a sore point for me and a myth our grandmothers and over zealous hairdressers perpetuated. I asked my husband if he thought her hair was too long and he said no. So Shelley, you rock that hair and keep doing your workouts.

Truth Only: I like the tighter curl on you just as well. The smaller curl matches a smaller frame, and looks cheerful. I didn't think it looked crazy at all.

Stacy B: You have glorious hair! And so much of it! Mine is very similar, very frizzy and wavy. Looking forward to giving this new technique a try!

Gloria Lagroon: Schellea you look gorgeous as always! Beautiful head of hair! Thank you so much for sharing some of your hair tips. I also love big voluminous hair. My hair is naturally curly and with frizz of course. Lol! Always trying to smooth it out first then add some curls. Schellea so you alternate the different sprays as you do your curls? Does that work better for you? ☺❤

Tracey Higgins: Hi Schellea. Thank you for the hair tips. Mine is exactly like yrs except I’m a brunette. My routine- I wash and condition my hair 2ce a week. After I do this I wrap my hair in a micro towel and leave it wrapped for about 20-30 minutes while I do my skincare and makeup. I then unwrap my hair , make a part with my wide tooth comb that my sister in law bought me in the early 80s. I tip my head upside down and scrunch in 10 pumps of argon oil as my hair is super thick. It never looks oily as my hair seems to absorb it all. After putting it through the ends as well, I comb it to my crown and make a cool bun. I go to work like this and take it out when I get home. After I take it out and scrunch it every now and then, it has a beautiful curl. I never brush it as it frizzes- only brush every 10 week just before I go to the hairdressers. I never have knots as I usually wear my hair up. Hope you got my Xmas card lovely lady. Sending you sunshine from Qld xxx‍♀️

Choose Kind: My hair TOTALLY looks like the hair on the left. So nice to know there is hope for me and my hair. The instructions were so clear. Thank you!

Studd Stuff: I have fizzy hair too! Thanks for the great tips!!

Tracey Christianson: I am so happy I found you on YouTube. You are amazing. I started with your exercises now using your fashion and makeup tips. Just love your videos xo

Lynda Bustillos: I loved your turotorial, however, for those of us beginners, it gets confusing when you're using different sprays to curl your hair, in the front and the back! Please make another video simplifying the steps. I love your awesome videos. Thank you~

Claudia Glows: Schellea, you are gorgeous even with frizzy hair, but what great tips! Thank you! Wishing you a great holiday season

Karma The Giant: I would have used a wide tooth comb not a brush when loosening the curls. I’ve always found brushing adds frizz.

Susan B: Your hair is always so beautiful. I have naturally curly hair so these steps won't work for me, but something anti frizz is always nice. Curly hair tends to get frizzy on top. Something for frizz control and always a gel works best for me.

LR H: You are so adorable, and your hair is gorgeous! Thank you for your tips and tricks for us "mature" gals!

Maureen Jessica Mary: people with straight hair will never know the struggles of a curl haired girl

Maxine: My hair looks like yours when it drys. Thanks for the tips ❤️

Diane Skahill: You look beautiful with or without the curls. Thank you for the lovely tips

nunya bizness: My hair is pretty much the same as yours... the only thing that I think you should have done differently, is not brush it out at the end (that's what I do). Can't wait to try the products

Peaches Skin Care: I loved this!!! This is me!!!!!! Although I’m allowing my grey ” Sparkle “ to grow. Have a beautiful day everyone Lisa

Raquel Borden: I will use these techniques from now on. I love that way you present your videos. You are amazing! Thank you.

karen macleod: Thanks for the great tips! you are so helpful to everyone, finding out things I never knew Your so Amazing Girl!

Angie C: I have very similar frizzy long hair will give it a go thank you. Your hair always looks great love it long xx

Pauline Boucher: I love these new hair dryer brushes , it gives my hair a blown out salon look every time :)

Nicky Hayden: So good to find a video by someone with hair like mine! Thank you xx

Pershe by Kauser Humayun: Love your videos. Your fitness videos are so practical, doable .Also I like the background music you play . And your soothing voice

candie diffin: Will definitely give this a try! Thanks!

Katherine Richardson: Great tip about rolling the side hair up and out. Gonna try it!

Jules Mpc: Love this channel. Just dont forget to blow dry the front of the hair/bangs and the upper part of the hair with the right products (as she did before starting this video)

cheryl anderson: Thanks Schellea, another great tip from you, gorgeous woman, hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas together stay safe

Patti bellifemine: Great tutorial. I wondered if you had extensions, but obviously not! My hair doesn’t grow like it used to, but it’s frizzy and dry. I’ll definitely try this on my shorter hair...

Janet Teehan: I have the same type of hair as yours. I find using hot curlers easier then a curling iron or wand. I section my hair the same as you. Tip: when curling the right side of your hair using an iron or wand- hold the iron in your left hand pointing down. Use your right hand to wrap the hair around the barrel , away from your face.

Claudia Leme: Thanks for tips...your hair looks amazing ‍♀️

Baroness Juliet: Who knew we have the same texture of hair! Thank you for this!!

Chrissie Hopkins: Thanks Schellea, that was very informative!

carole GUNFIELD: You should try the curly girl method. My hair was always dry and frizzy and is now hydraded and wavy :-)

A K: Very beautiful and helpful

Square Peg: I took a screen freeze shot of your hair to my new hairdresser salon around the corner (just before lockdown) as you’re my hair inspiration!

rajuroleth1: Wow really you’re fabulous Ms. Schellea. Happy to see your background for a long time. Take care and let’s all keep ourselves amazing

Anything Is Possible: Yup! That is my hair, especially in this damp, winter weather. I tried this today and my hair turned into little springs, so I think I will just stick with using the curling rod without the pins...like your video on "beachy waves". My hair takes a curl very quickly. I also use Argan oil...just a tiny bit goes a long way, but really helps. Also, around here, our water is very hard. I use a Culligan water softener shower head that has cartridges that get changed every few months. That makes a huge difference in my level of frizz. AND, I never use a hairbrush. I learned that from a really good stylist. I use just a wide-toothed comb and remove all knots by hand, loosening them up and untangling gently. Every hair is a fragile fiber and brushes tend to tear a lot of hair out. Even natural bristle brushes! Thank you for the tips though.

Crystal Mcmahon: That’s my hair I’ll be trying it today love the look thank you for sharing ⛄️

Dawn the OG: This will take me so so much longer than 10 minutes.

Fletcher: This woman absolutely makes my heart sing every time I see her! She is just so warm!!

Joni WWE: ....is it bad that I LOVE the 'before' as much as the 'after'....maybe even more! :) Beautiful hair! So thick & voluminous!

SkylarW.99: Great vid! But I’ve found that the sulfate free shampoos and conditioners actually wouldn’t get the build up out of my hair and actually made mine worse! It turned into a horrible frizzy coarse mess! Then I did some research and found that my porous hair needs the sulfates to get out the grease, etc. Sure enough, after using regular old VO5 shampoo and conditioner from the Dollar Tree, my hair began to feel like it used to. Now it’s 100 times better. Lesson learned for me.

Nikki Stott: I tried this x I don't shampoo, only use conditioner to wash my hair, mask for 5 minutes and rub some sweet almond oil in the ends - my hair has never been better, but I RECOMMEND THIS for styling ! Quick, easy on the hair and lovely results (shoulder length hair)

Paul Delazzari: Hi my name is Catherine ( Paul is my Fiance) and i am really loving all of this, i have long frizzy hair as well, loving your tutorials, i have always loved big hair , maybe its something to do with the 80's i dont know. Also i have been doing your 14 day challenge and additional classes with you on top of those, its made such a difference to my life. I have purchased a few more make up products as well and my man is really loving my updated looks, i am always looking for ways to keep my look relevant and not "old" so to speak, i am 53 please please Keep it all going. Am about to look for Fabuletics!!!!!! eeeeekkkkk....

Mojo Ducati: Your so pretty, kind, and helpful to all us girls.

May A: Excellent tips. Thank you :)

Dizzy Caines: I loved your hair when the curl was tighter and bouncy

Julia: Hi Schellea, your hair is truly fabulous! I noticed as I stay more inside this year that my blonde hair got much darker. Do you color yours or is it a natural color? If you die your hair, what die do you recommend and do you do it yourself?

Laurie Haggith: Looks great! I havent put that much time, product and effort in my hair since my 20s. I prefer shoulder length and up for mature hair.

Beatrix Alvey: Gorgeous hair ❤️

Hello 123: Schellea I’m a new subscriber and I’m loving your videos. I’m in my very late 40s and for the past few months my hair has been falling out,I now have a bald spot on the top of my head. Any advice please ? I’ve started taking biotin

Monica Pederson: Love it, our hair is very similar!

Denise Scragg: Hi Shellea I've subscribed to your channel been following you with your excersize now for 4 days doing 2 thirty minutes then the abdominal workout and then the legs I'm getting better at it each time I'm doing it and I've lost a few pounds I no its not much but its a start , thankyou for the encouragement when we are doing the exercises , xx

Anita Bruckner: You are born beautiful...so anything that you do looks great on you!!

Maddie B: Dear Schellea, always beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!!

Natalie K: Thank you so much!! My hair is just like yours!!

solehamaro33: Great tips, you looks fabulous, thank you very much and have a beautiful day too

Andrea Anderson: Beautiful healthy hair ❤️

Choose Kind: Thank you! I needed this video!

Charr Ski: I have thick frizzy kinky hair - I blow drow it - not really straightening it - takes too much heat - just blow dry and brush. The magic comes from hot rollers - the kind with the velcro on them - it smooths my frizzy hair like no other heat product. I let them cool - then brush out. I may use a flat iron to calm some curls if it is too curly. It is quick because I can get ready for work doing other things as my hair cools. Doing a curling wand would take to much time for me but glad to know. thanks.

terry Olsson: You have been blessed with thick beautiful hair. Thanks for all the tips.

SunLovingLady: I've been doing the Curly Girl Method, and my strawlike dry hair is becoming so moist and bouncy and my natural curls are coming back to life. I cannot use heat tools at all. It would be interesting to see you try this method for yours. It isn't easy but you see results amazingly quickly! You are so beautiful!

Shelly Cupp: Great information! Thanks

Heather ofScots: My hair is coming in coarse and frizzy so I now have a mix of textures as my hair was once naturally silky and shiny. I hate it and there is not one thing I can do with it unless I want to glue it down to my head. My ends look like I have extentions since it is so different from my new growth :(

Trish Pacheco: Thank you so much. I really needed this

Bella Vee: I loved the crazy curl look on you as well.

Carmen Z: very pretty! I must say you look gorgeous with shorter hair too!

Debra Garcia: I really like how it turned out. Good hair tips

Nova Norman: Lovely Lock! Thanks for sharing!

Vivian B: Love your videos! What do you do with your hair for you night-time routine ? Do you wear it in a specific style ? I know you also use a silk pillow which will help of course. bu7t just wondering how long this style lasts or how often you have to tough it up ?

Susana Moreira: My hair is curly and frizzy like yours but when I use the ghd curling iron I do not use a texture product because I thought it would dry my air. Iam going to try one of the products you use to see if the curls remain in place for more than one day. Thank you once again for the helpful ideas.

Karen O'Donnell: Merry Christmas and a happy Nee Year to you. Look forward to watching more in 2021 x

K Scarborough: I have very similar hair to yours...thanks for this!
