Hey guys, it's Ellie and today I'm going to show you one of my very favorite go-to hairstyles, a regular everyday fun using a bun maker and spin pins, and there are like a million ways that you can make buns. But today I'm going to show you the two different ways that I use all the time and I hope you enjoy it. So all you're going to need for this is a hair type of any kind that will hold your hair up in a high ponytail, a bun maker. They sell these at every drugstore ever and H & M and forever 21 and they're, usually about 5 bucks. I don't know which they are at H & M, but I've got mine at Walgreens for 5 bucks and then either just a bunch of bobby pins or, if you're, feeling extra fancy or short on time to spin pins, and these are also available at drugstores. For about 5 bucks for the pair of two, so let's get started okay, so you want to start with your hair down brushed out ready to go. You can totally do this on second day here. You may just want to use some dry shampoo in it to make it a little more like volume and stuff, but I washed my hair this morning, so I'm going to skip that step today and the first thing that you want to do is put your hair Up in a ponytail just a high ponytail, this can also work for low ponytails or like mid ponytails, whatever kind of wherever you want your bun to be is where you're going to put your ponytail. So I like to do my put my buns high, so I'm going to do a fairly high ponytail and you want to just kind of bring it up into your regular ponytail, and this is where you can get really creative. It'S this step right here, where you have to decide if you want to just do a basic bun or if you want to throw in like a braid or like a pouf or something to make it extra fancy today we're doing basics. So once you have it all in, you want to just secure with your elastic, just as you normally would, and you want to tie it tight. You want it to be as tight as possible and then I like to pull it apart and then kind of just pull out some parts here. So it's not super tight on my head. That'S completely your preference! So once you have your ponytail in this is where you decide, if you want to do method, number one or method number, two we're going to start with method, one! I think it's the easiest. So you take your bun maker here and you're going to put your fingers through it, so you can easily grab your pointy tail and then you want to take your hair here and just pull the bun maker around your ponytail like it's another hair tie. So you have your bun maker at the base of your ponytail and you now you just want to take your hair here and splay it all around with the bun maker, so just to cover the top of it with all of your hair. So once you feel like it's all, covered you're going to take your fingers and kind of put it around the base of the bun maker kind of pulling your hair in and then grab just any section of your hair. I like to start with the side for whatever reason and start twisting it around so you're going to start twisting or, as you go around all around the base of the bun maker. So it kind of goes either around the sides or underneath the bun maker itself. So then, you have your bun maker, completely covered by your hair and the rest of your hair spun all the way around, and you want to probably just tuck things under a little bit and what you're doing right now is gathering all of the ends of your Hair into this hand, right here, so I have all the ends right here that aren't tucked in and you want to just wrap that around as far as it'll go - and this is where the pins come in, so if you're using regular bobby pins, then you just Want to start pinning it down all around your bun just to keep it in. I like to use spin pins because I think that they're amazing and they just you, really only need two and then you're done so you're, going to take your spin pin with the open side and you're going to put it right over that hair. That you're, holding and you're just going to hold down your bun maker and you're, going to spin the pin into your hair. So it's going to go close to your scalp and into the bun maker itself, because it's made of this like net material spin. All the way through and you're good, so I have a few extra ends with my hair in my hand, still even after using the spin pin, so I'm going to use a regular bobby pin to just pin those down to my head because I'm going to save My other spin pin for the back of my bun, I feel like you, get a really secure hold if you use one spin pin in the front and one spin pin in the back, so I just use to regular bobby pins to pin down the ends of My hair in the front so they're not even really visible anymore, and I have my second spin pin, I'm just going to take it in the back and spin it right in the background, a tip in the front, and that is it that is literally it. This is like a three to five minute hairstyle, I would say five minute tops it's super simple, so that is it for bun number, one or method number one. It looks like this from the top, so this is a very clean. Looking bun is very put-together and nice. I like this a lot I feel like I wear this most days when I use my bun maker. What do you guys think? Okay, so for method? Number two you're just going to do the same thing start with your ponytail high. I didn't even take mine and I lifted it from the last time, so literally same exact process as the first time with the ponytail, either on bottom rows, hop wherever you want it and then same thing as last time put your fingers through the bun maker grab. Your hair ponytail situation so bring your bun maker to the base of your ponytail, and then I'm going to try to keep this in frame for you, so you just want to bring it to the end of your ponytail till you have like about this much hair Hanging out even a little less to be okay, too, and then you want to take that little bit of ponytail left and splay it over the bun maker as much as you can. It will not cover it completely, but you want to go as much as you can so then you're going to take your thumbs at the bottom and you're going to just roll it you're going to roll the hair under the bun maker as you go down. Just take the ends, push them under the bun maker and roll the bun maker down over your hair, and this is the part that takes practice, making sure that you keep all the hair covering the bun maker. But as you go down, you get more and more hair. I have layers, so I have a piece here that never goes in so I tuck that underneath the bun maker it through the hole and back around the top, once I get down there far enough any hairs that you feel like are loose, you just want to Tuck back through the hole in the bun maker and just keep rolling until you literally cannot roll anymore. So once you reach the bottom, you could technically go like this because all of your hair is in, but I like my buns to be super secure. So I am going to take any of the extra remaining pieces and use those with the spin pins by just taking them and pressing them. I guess tucking them underneath the bun maker itself, so you take your spin, pin same thing, press it under and then spin it in and then same deal in the back. You want to do it on the opposite side of the other and then use of all your pins to just pin down any extra hairs that are sticking out. If you want to or you can just leave it messy and you are done so that's method number. Two also super fast, probably takes 30 seconds longer than that first method, but it really just depends on the look that you're going for. So, as you can see, this bun is much like it's much bigger, it's kind of wider here's. What it looks like on the top, but they're very similar you could easily just master one of them, call it a day and wear that all the time so anyways guys there you go here, are both types of funds. I hope that this was helpful for you. I hope that you enjoyed watching it and if you guys know of any other techniques that you want to share or that you want to see me do comment below and let me know - and I would love to do that. Ally C: Thank you so much for this tutorial. My hair is super long and heavy so I have such a hard time with those flimsy Bobby pins. I may try get those spin pins.

ashlei527: OMG, this is the easiest tutorial how to use that bun maker! I was going crazy and was ready to return it. Thank you so much!!!

misswhiskeykittie: Such a great tutorial! I have very thick, curly hair and I wear my hair in a bun all the time in the summer. I cannot deal with a sweaty neck or hair in my face when it’s hot.

THESnowWight: Thank you so much! I just got a bun maker and was kind of winging it. Your tutorial really helped me get the hang of it. I love this hairstyle! Hope you’re having a great day!

Sylvia Segura: Very useful videos, thanks, I just did my bun with option 1 and it looks great!

HarryPotter: tysm for this method! I know this was made a while back, but this helped me so much! This was the easiest method ever, and instead of using bobby pins or spin pins, I used a scrunchie and just applied it over the extra strands of hair, making it look like I did a bun with a scrunchie! Easy and fun to do for school, everyone loved it <3

CutieFish: This was soooo helpful lovely!!! I've always had a little donut a never really known how to use it, THANK YOU!! x

Morganville94: Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have been wrestling with my bun maker forever!

Alma Rosales: Totally loved it!!! I actually was able to do this after your tutorial

Stephanie Peters: Thank you for making it super easy to follow along; this helps. Although I think I might go look for some spin pins. I think that would help my hair as bobby pins don't always do their job where my head of hair is concerned.

Whammytap: Thanks! As a confirmed tomboy, I really needed this explanation. Bun donut came with insufficient instructions. I have a lot of REALLY short layers, which make great '80s palm tree hair--everything else, not so much. So my bun is messy, but I think I can rock the messy bun!

josiepie: Thanks for the tutorial! Super helpful:) I got my bun maker for $.25 at a local store

PEPPA PIG Janelle: Thank you so much for this! I had to make a little girls hair in a bun today and I was clueless.

Mollie Graham: Wow! Can't wait to try these out! My friend is a dancer and needs her to be super tight looking and perfect. So she makes her look very organized, she got me and bun maker and taught me her method. It's not my style at all, but this helped me a lot. Now I know how to use it in my own person style. Thanks so much, it is super cute, easy, and helpful!

Laura Brown: Thank you! I suck at doing my hair, but I can totally manage this!

LeaAnne94: The second method is seriously an arm workout for those with really long hair.

philly pickles: I got my hair bun maker kit on Amazon for super cheap and it comes with TWELVE PIECES!!! My favorite are the magic snap hair bun makers but I also like the round ones in this video. The snap magic hair bun makers take a little to master but once you get it, you can make a super tight bun in seconds. The best part is that they NEVER get loose. I am a spin teacher and wear my hair in a bun all day during class. This is where I got them on amazon, I recommend this brand... https://www.amazon.com/Hawwwy-12-pieces-Ballet-Toddler-Accessories/dp/B07Q3YYZCV/

AC Wilson: Hi Ellie, I really like what you did. I just bought one and I wasn't sure how to go about making a stylish bun. Your hair is so pretty.

Carly mudge: I really love the ways you did this. It really helped me coz i could never put my hair up using a bun maker. And also i love your tattos. Ps ur goals

BRANDY DAUGHERTY: Since I have layers, I always find it helpful to dampen my ponytail a little so it rolls into the bun maker easier when doing method 2.

Edna Blanco: I never leave comments on YouTube videos but I had to in yours: thank you so much for this tutorial. It's the first one that actually works for me. Thank you SO much.

Susan Beck: Thank you soooo much! That was extremely helpful and I'm thrilled with my results! Now, onto your channel I go to see what else you can teach me! :)

Emily Carter: This was so good! Thank you, I have tried about 5 videos and this is the only one that makes sense! ThankYou :)

Heather Conrad: So you can use it like a sock bun ... so cool!! I think the sock bun/roll method gives the most texture to the bun - more of the messy look. But the first method of just wrapping the bun in the hair looks the most realistic. Thanks!

Rapunzel Red: I wondered how to use these! It looks like the second method holds in layers better... but I have not tried this myself :D

All about Charm: Great tutorial! Thanks ☺️

Holly Michelle: Ahhhhhhh! For the longest time I couldn't bloody figure out how to do this. My friend recently showed me her magic bun donut and I was like oh my gosh! and went and bought one for myself. I still couldn't do it successfully. But this video has helped me so much! I prefer method two as I've been dying to get my slightly-past-shoulder-length hair into a proper bun since forever. Thank you!!! :')

Mary Rice: Oh my gosh. You just made this so easy for me. They don't show the steps like this on the package at all! I've never heard of spin pins... gettin' me some! Thanks ever so much! :-)

kleineroteHex: Nice closeups and great explanations, thanks!

Rblx_Holidays🎃👻: This was so helpful the first time I ever made a good bun Tysm

Alisa Kulik: You look fantastic, girl! Love the video, many thanks. :D

Hannah Lee: I recently bought a mini one of these and it's 10 times harder to use than the normal ones thanks forever 21

Ineng’s: Nice ! I know now how to do it. Thanks for this amazing video

Mariey Rosas: considering I'm going to basic training I have to constantly have my hair in a nice bun so this helped..thank you.!

BRANDIE SCHUTTE: thank you for this video. I watched a couple before this one and yours helped me the most!

S S: So helpful! And the close-up inset was perfect for showing the detail..Great job!

m brown: Your tatts are sooo pretty! I love the color! Thanks for this tutorial! My hair is super fine but this helps mucho!

Elizabeth Greeno: I love this video! Thank you for the tutorial. Could you do a video on eye liner? I like how yours is put on and I stink at doing mine.

Kim C: So I've always wanted to try a bun maker in my hair. The first method is SO easy and looks good. The second method, for the life of me I don't know how you do it, my hair just poops back out of the hole EVERY time I try rolling. I also have really long thiner hair now so it just didn't work out very well. Thank you for showing me how to use it!!

Kimberly White: Thanks so much! I used one as a child but forgot how it worked. ☺️

Amy Carroll: Thank you! It's recital season and I needed help with my daughter's hair! Do you have any tips for hair that's a little shorter, getting it into a bun. Is a bun maker still the way to go?

Crystal Maceira: Love the spin pins, been using them for over 10 years...

Amy Liao: Thank you! I've owned a bun maker for 2 + years now and never knew how to use it. Today I decided to watch your video and my life has been changed forever.

Izabella Allen: i LOVE how beautiful you are. you are very very beautiful inside and out! You seem very comfy and confidant in your own skin which is great! i love how inspiring you are and how you do crazy videos for other people's likings. i hope you have a great day❤ and sorry if there are any typos

TatumFortnite: Thank you so much the 2nd one works with short hair!

Monet Sando: Thank you!! I will attempt this tomorrow!

Spøøky Jim: Thank u sooooo freaking much. I got mine today and ur video helped soooo much.

shelly Lynn: Omg thank you!!! I bought mine at the Dollar Tree. Woohoo I know how to do it

Kristen: I use method 1..... I never really was able to master method 2. I have never used spin pins, tho, I only use bobby pins. Thanks for posting!

Akodo Shige: THANK YOU. OMG............ I've been trying to learn this for years through pictures and heavily edited videos.

philly pickles: The ABSOLUTE BEST bun makers I have ever used are by a brand called HAWWWY. You can get them on amazon for super cheap. They have every single kind of bun maker but the "magic bun makers" are by far the best. It definitely takes a little while to learn but once you learn you can make a bun in under 5 seconds and it will literally last until you physically take it out. They make the PERFECT ballet buns. I also have been using spin pins by HAWWWY as well. You can make a messy bun and it lasts all day and only takes 1 second to make. They're like bobby pins but spiral, and you just twist them into your bun. Search HAWWWY on amazon or walmart and you will not be dissapointed. I promise!!!!!!!

Andrea Cavazos: Thanks for the post I literally watched you a d did the first style in less than 2min I was in a hurry and your video was to the point thanks

Ok Ramirez: I loved how you do ur buns it helped me

sensitivecrybaby: thank you so much for this !!!! it really helped seriously...

Trisha Barone: Thank you this helped a lot

Allie Mullen: My 8yrs old hair so long and i couldnt figure out how to get all that hair in the bun maker.. This video was so helpful in 3 min i had it done!!

Viaaa: THANK YOU SO MUCH! I MADE MY BUN :D

Tenacious: Thanks for making it look easy. Does it hurt taking out those twist pins?

Ann Marie Middleton: I like your methos! Both are easy and look great! Thank you!

Niki Cardwell: It seems like the first method is easier, but I do prefer how the second method looks.  I don't know, it just seems more polished or something.  You look beautiful either way!

Vian: Wow this is great tutorial!

Lauren: I really desire the ability to master a nice looking bun. I therefore appreciate this video. Will attempt bun donut thing!

Christina Biondo: Love the close-up VIV! Great idea.

Shaylee Gray: On your second method thats how i make my sockbuns!

Jessica Giudetti: I'm trying to get a perfect bun but I'm far from my aim. thank you

Jackson Cash: on the first one if u want a ballerina bun, all u have to do is, put your hair in a pony tail, put the bun maker on your scalp where your hair tie is and spread the hair all around the bun maker and tie it to the bun maker then just twirl the excess hair around the bun and pin hair in place, and there you go, a ballerina bun. and just to say i love your videos.

kaitlyn hayes: I tend to go for the double bun style

jeanna simonette: Loved the second bun

Yolanda Perez: wow thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a bun maker and could never figure out how to use it until now! Woohoo!

Deyvaen: I don't know if you still even answer questions on this, but I was wondering how this would be for wet hair? If you put wet hair immediately after washing it, could you take it down the second day and have curly hair? I'm just wondering how your hair looks when you take it out, is it nice and wearable or is it a kinky mess? I usually hand roll/twist my hair into a bun to get curls because I have no curling iron, blow dryer, straightener, nothing. I'm wondering if this would be better or worse because I just got one of those fluffy bun things. The video was great though, I know I can wear it up now at least! Thanks :)

Gabrielle LeBoeuf: Thanks for the tips because I was struggling this morning

xLuv4Music: @Ellko I love your makeup in this video!!!

Akanksha Mahour: hello dear... like the way you explain how to make a bun in so super easy method... keep it up...

sagrammyfour: Thank you, thank you, thank you. I like to use "Magic Grip" hair pins, too.

Parvati nath: I like the first one. Thank you so much. :)

Taylor Neptune: I just use a old cut sock and it works the exact same if you don't wanna go out and buy a fancy bun(donut) thing

EverSweet8115: I Love the second one!!!

Janna Waugh: What I did was put mine on the tips of my hair, then roll it down to my scalp. Then put another pony around it so it's nicely shaped.

Analyn's Journey: The second method, honestly i can't make it by myself since i have long hair. It's really hard. But anyway total all in all was amazing i just need more practice.

Petra: This video is full of long haired wizardry that I cannot comprehend. I totally thought those were just scrunchies tbh hahahah. When my hair grows I'm going to do all these cool wizard things too.

ShannenMakesVideos: Hun you know you can get those bun makers at the dollar store

Victoria McAlister: i love your videos :)

Andrea Orta: my trick for a bun is just taking my hair and twisting it and wrapping it around its self one elastic no pins no ponies just twisting and bam done..,

I love BTS: Thank you for this!

kimberlyyy: Thanks you this video help do a bun for school

ଘ(੭ˊᵕˋ)੭* ੈ✩‧₊.: Thanks rlly much I have a game (volleyball game) ND I need to pick up my hair ND I did not know how to use this thing I was like... "Mooooom how do I use this thing" lol. So this just save my hair thank you so much <3

jenni lind: Ah, very helpful! ... I still prefer having you just do my hair for me though!!  ;)

Tessa Kruit: So easy for dance recital buns

Sandra A: Thanks! I’m off to buy some spin pins!

Addy Rain: I have the smallest bun doughnut but my hair is so thin that it never covers all of the doughnut. Do you or anyone else reading this comment have any suggestions for me? I really want cute hair, but I can't seem to get it ) :
