What cause hair shedding?

Whether you purchase a lace wig, closure piece, or weft extensions sealing your hair will give you a natural look. For wigs and closures each strand of hair is hand-tied and secured by a knot on the underside of the hairpiece. Because this tiny knot holds each strand into place, the hair is very delicate—and can often shed.

Someone are trying the matte version of this sealer, because they don’t want to add additional shine under their hair piece. Once you have the sealer in hand, spray it on the underside of your hair piece and you’ll create a coating around the knot that provides an extra layer of protection for the hair. This will make your tresses more durable and prevent them from sliding loose.

What are wefts of hair?

Machine wefted or machine weft hair extensions refer to products which have been sewn or "wefted" to create the bundle of extensions. Loose or "bulk" hair is fed through a triple-head sewing machine to add a reinforced stitch near the top (root) of the individual strands.

Should You Seal Your Wefts?

When buy virgin hair or any expensive weave you want to protect you investment. So how might you do so? By sealing your weft. So what exactly is sealing the wefts? It's when put your choice of sealant on to the weft.

This process consist of you coating the weft with the sealant on both sides. This then create a coating on the weft.

It work well , minimal shedding. Its a very light coating on the weft. It seems as if my weft was still protected. After time I felt as if with each wash it came off. what does it mean to seal your wefts

How To Seal Wefts To Prevent Your Hair Extensions From Shedding?

1.Co-Wash You Hair Before Sealing

Co-washing means to wash and rinse your hair with a high quality conditioner  only. Co-washing helps to retain the moisture in your hair eliminate dullness.

You will want to seal only clean and healthy hair that is not brittle or dry at the weft. Wait for the hair to dry prior to sealing the wefts. If you plan to color or dye your hair.

2.Sealing the wefts

Sealing simply refers to reinforcing the hair extension wefts with glue to erradicate shedding altogether. By sealing the wefts as soon as you recieve the extensions, you safe-guard the weave against excess shedding making them last longer.

Even if you manage to get your hands on extensions that have reinforced, it is still good to get in the habit of sealing those wefts as soon as you get the hair to avoid any unnecessary headache mid wear.

3.Choosing The Sealant

There are some weft sealants that are made specifically for hair wefts and provide a good bond without leaving residue or a white crust along the weft.

A very reasonable alternative to hair weft sealants are fabric glues. Fabric glues tend to be moisture proof and also dry clear. Some of the fabric glues do not dry clear but leave a white or gray film once dry.

4.Sew Around The Wefts

If you're a stylist doing a sew-in (or you're doing your own hair), avoid sewing the needle straight through the track. This not only causes shedding, but it also decreases the life span of your wefts. The trick is to sew around the track so it doesn't break down over time.

5.Manipulate Less

The more styling you do, the more you'll be pulling on your hair, the more your hair will be shedding. Try limiting how many times you flat iron your hair by wrapping it at night, or wear your hair down more instead of putting it up in a ponytail.

6.Choose Double Wefted Hair

Whether you hair is single weft or double weft, may not make a major difference when it comes to shedding.  I recommend double wefted hair because it is thicker and I’ve notices that it may shed less due to the double sewing.

The most important factor is the quality of the sewing. The process of double wefting may take longer and the hair may be more expensive, but the reduced shedding will make the process of sealing your wefts even more effective.

Keep in mind, if you have 3 or 4 bundles of hair, unrolling your hair and then sealing your wefts can take quite some time.

How to prevent hair shedding?

All of our hair weft is double layers and machine made. Usually, its weft is neat enough. However, you may cut the hair weft into pieces to meet your head well before installation. But just seal the weft again, it will be strong enough.

1) After washing the hair, please nurse with some hair oil, then the hair will be silky and soft.
2) Choose the wide-toothed comb; comb it gently, so as to prevent shedding.
3) Too much heat may damage the hair. If heat is used, use a heat protectant.
