Hi, this is Heather Matthews with Metro design studios and I'm here to show you how to do a hair, color patch test. Now, hair color patch test is important for anyone. Who'S never had hair color before. If you have any allergies to the hair color, it could be very serious and put you in the hospital. So the patch test is testing for these allergies. So before you start, you'll get your hair color and it usually comes with two tubes. You have one, that's the color and another bottle. That'S the developer, take about a pea-sized amount of the color and an equal part of the developer and mix those together tightly put the lids back on your hair. Color will be fine for when you're ready to use it. So you take your two-piece eyes amounts of each mix them up really well and to the back of the ear with either a wooden stick or cotton swab. You just want to take a small amount of the mixture and put it onto the skin you're testing the skin here, you're, not testing the hair, just a thin coat, and you want to let that sit for 24 hours, don't wash it off. You just want to see how your skin reacts to it the next day, if you don't have a reaction, you're good to go and that's how you do a hair, color patch test, you

Lisa Ann: You should wait 48 hours not 24 hours. Also even if you have used hair dye before, you can get an allergy at any time. YOU should always do a patch test.

synthautomatik: Patch test should be performed every time before you dye your hair, even if you have previously used the same hair dye. Allergies can build up or develop at any stage of your life.

Ria C: Actually, after rinsing it off your skin after 24 hours, you should wait 2 more days before dying your whole head. Sometimes it can take up to 2-3 days before a reaction happens.

shruti gohad: Finally some one really told and show that how to do a patch test

Simone T: I have no reactions at all from patch tests yet last colour same professional one I always use I could barely breathe so sometimes it's a now show. Please anyone that has tingly lips-dizziness when a dye is applied rinse off asap & go to a medical professional. Hair dye is NOT worth dying for...I got big scare indeed.

Lost Without Her: why would anyone do a test so close to the carotid artery, so close to the brain, on such permeable skin? The results could be more disastrous than they otherwise might be if tested elsewhere. Also, how do you sleep without destroying your pillow case covers or getting the patch transferred to the back of your ear?

Kaci-lea Evans: As a hairdresser. Timing should be 48hours!
