Hi, this is Heather Matthews at Metro design, studios in Chesterfield Missouri, and I'm going to show you the best way to remove hair color from surfaces. Now. The first surface that I'm going to talk about is your skin, and the first thing you should do before removing colors is to prevent them. So always wear hair gloves when you're, applying hair, color and use a barrier cream and barrier cream is like a thick lotion that you put on the hair line and on the ears and other places that you don't want color to stain. So I'm going to demonstrate here: I've got a little hair color on my hand, I've put some barrier cream on it. First then, I've got some color remover for the skin, just put a little on to some cotton and it just wipes away like that. It doesn't stain the skin at all, so it's important that use a barrier cream and a color stain remover on the skin next is how to remove hair color off of something like a cabinet. If you're doing your hair color at home in the bathroom, I've got cream-colored cabinets here so pretty light. So it's a issue that I struggle with daily. So I'm going to use a magic eraser to get the hair color off and just do circular motions like that and it kind of breaks it up. It'S a great tool, wipe it away and then just take a towel to get it the rest of the way clean and there you have it. That'S the best way to remove hair color from surfaces.

Eragon Brommson: I've found cleansing balms, oils, and micellar waters work well for removing dyes from skin, semi permanent at least. It may take 2 or 3 cleanses with them but they work :)

norm hartzman: Great tip and it worked very well for removing hair dye from a lacquer cabinet in our bathroom. Thank you!

Susan Bland-Medicis: Worked like a charm! Thank you.

Tiger Wiese Jones: Try leaving toothpaste with brightener/lightener in it - Baking Soda brand. It works if you can catch it quick, but you have to leave it on and let it sit overnight or even days. It lightens the stain and then you wipe the rest off.

Amer Adam: Thank you so much. I hope this can work with a dried dye after 24 hours as no place is open now to go to, i dropped some hair dye on the wall and I might lose my sleep today I swear

mae: I did just that with Mr. Clean but the color didn't go at all. :( It just lightened a tad. I also tried using acetone since I saw it online but nothing happened as well. I tried it with vinegar, vinegar mixed with BS, but the color just stayed on. So, I tried wiping it off with CLOROX and I didn't mix it with anything - not even water. Afraid that it will ruin the paint on dry wall but voila! The hair dye stain was totally gone, leaving the wall with a vibrant color. So I tried it on other stains (stains on walls and ceilings from the time we bought the place from previous owners), and the stains all went leaving me with nice vibrant paint color. Now, I would actually clean the whole wall and ceiling area with clorox but this time will mix it with a tad of water and have my place all cleaned up and sanitized. Cool :)
