What is up everyone and welcome back to my channel or welcome if you're new, my name is Selena, and today I have for you of my perma hair care, routine and products that I use, but before we get started, make sure you give this video a thumbs Up and if you would like to see all my other perm videos be sure to check that out down below I'll, have that listed for you, but without further ado, let's get right into the video. So if you've been with me for this whole perm journey, I've been getting my prep done for about two and a half years. Now I initially got it my full head done and then periodically I've been getting touch-ups, but the most recent appointment that I had in April, I redid my whole hair. I just didn't film it because I just felt like it was really repetitive it we still used all the same rods, same products and everything like that. So nothing has really changed periodically. My hair products have been changing because my hair has been getting a little bit more damaged than more. I'Ve been priming, my hair originally when i started it out. I never dyed it before or anything like that, but as time went on and i continued getting, my hair done at my hair needed a little bit more help. So today, i'm gon na be showing you all the things that I've been using. So as far as washing my hair, I do not wash my hair more than two three times max a week. I try to put as little product in my hair as possible because you know with the perm solution. I don't want to continuously wash it out or dry my hair out, even more and watching your hair constantly strips your hair of all the natural oils, so I try to conserve it as much as possible, so the shampoo that I've been using is this Shea Moisture. I love Shea Moisture um, it's the raw shea butter, moisture retention, shampoo shoutout to Dani my boyfriend for showing me this, and it is really good. As far as keeping my scalp and nice and moisturize, I have a dry scalp. So that's another reason why I don't wash my hair soft in because if you shampoo it a lot, it dries out your scalp a bit more, but this one helps conserve the moisture. So it's that's been really helpful and I've been loving that so much I usually just apply it to the roots. I don't apply it to the rest of my hair and that's just to clean out my hair. Just make sure it removes all the oil without drying. The rest of my hair or conditioner, I use the same product as my previous video that I showed it. It is again Shea Moisture, but this one is the coconut and hibiscus curl and shine conditioner. I will also link all these products down below. You can find them at Target. I think that shampoo is from like TJ Maxx or something but very affordable and a great product. This does well with as far as taming the frizz conserving the curls and adjusting moisturizing my hair altogether. So I've been loving that and the way that I use this product is when I'm taking a shower, put a pupper to at the bottom of my hair and scrunch. It up just to make sure that my tips are not dying or breaking away and then slowly move my hands up to my roots because, again, like I don't want an oily scalp or anything like that. So focus the most of the product at the bottom of my hair. After my hair is washed and everything I come out of the shower use a towel and scrunch my hair. I do not wrap my hair and, like the hair turban, like I used to with my straight hair, I slowly just scrunch my hair with a towel and just let it dry eventually, once my hair is starting to dry a little and I'm continuously scrunching it from The roots all the way down to the tip. I then use this diva curl frizz free of volumizing foam, and this is really great as far as conserving the volume, while also because I know like when putting a lot of conditioning products, it can tend to weigh your hair down, and I don't want my curls To deplete so to keep the bounciness of the curls, I use this texturising mousse, something that I also love about. This is that it's not crunchy so like it doesn't leave your hair lookin all crispy ramen noodle II, as soft bouncy, still has volume, but no frizz. So love this on a daily. I also like to mention in my routine when coming out of the shower. I also use the curl enhancing smoothie. This is also by Shane, wisher and notice is not sponsored but girl. If you would like to sponsor me, she's ready, but I love using this - I literally only use this much like I just tap my fingers in and just use this much a little bit goes a long way and it's a great, affordable price. So it lasts a long time, but this is also to tame the frizz, while also putting more moisture in my hair again with this curly style, it can tend to look pretty easily, so you want to use as many moisture product as possible without weighing your hair Down so a little bit of this goes a long way, but that's definitely great once you come out of the shower and your hair still a little damp so, like I said, I do usually only wash my hair to three days a week so well on the Days that I do not wash my hair, I typically just wake up run a spray bottle a little bit through my hair just get a damp, and then I apply this. This is a leave-in spray conditioner. I got this from my hairstylist. I don't know what exactly or where you can get it from, but it's called converse call, I don't know the name of it, but it's basically just a spray conditioner, and so this will just make sure that I have no moisture in my hair and just continuously Regaining back all the moisture and everything throughout the week, but also again taming that frizz so on the days that I'm not watching my hair I'll just spray, this a couple scrunch it up. Maybe you put a dollop of that mousse in my hair. If I needs a little help, but other than that, that's basically what I do on a daily basis. If you have any more questions or anything like that, as far as my perm be sure to refer to all my other videos and also leave those questions down below I'd, be more than happy to answer those for you again I'll, also link my salon and my Hairstylist down below, if you are in the North County San area, you want to get a perm. I definitely suggest it. I'Ve always wanted curly hair in my whole life, and so once I started getting perms, I was addicted, be sure to hit that subscribe button. So you are updated for all my future posts and more per video, so I will continuously put more updates as far as how it's going. If I change my products, yada yada yada, if you want to see what I'm doing outside of these videos, be sure to check me out on social media, that's at Selena, Acosta on Instagram and snapchat. I would love to see you all in those platforms as well and until next time I'll see you all in my next video

Jessa Lei: Yess I’m thinking of getting a perm soon and this video was really helpful for when I can take care of it ❤️

Damaris Demarchi: Hey girl! I love your perm.. I want one so badly!! So, I just have a few suggestions: 1. Look into the Curly Girl Method!! 2. Apply moisturizing hair defining creams after you shower, while your hair is COMPLETELY wet and THEN apply a curl defining gel. I strongly recommend Ms Jesse's Pillow Soft Curls and Cantu's extreme hold gel. You should smooth both products over your hair and then scrunch it! (It should be so wet that when you scrunch, water comes out) 3. Do a hair mask once a week! (Highly recommend anything Cantu or a protein treatment for the damage) I have naturally wavy hair and I SWEAR by the curly girl method!!! Take care, beautiful!!!

Rae: Finally a recent video for perms and how to care for them! I love this!!!!!!! Can’t wait to get mine done! I didn’t get my mom’s Hawaiian curls so I never looked like the island princess I’m meant to be ❤️

Be.still.im.blessed: I got a perm a month ago and I'm loving it. I use a t-shirt to scrunch my hair and I dry it out of the shower with a microfiber towel. A silk or satin pillowcase is also good. All of these are to not get frizz. I stopped using a regular towel on my hair. And cotton pillowcases dry out the hair. I hope this helps!

Hannah Saunders: I have a perm and have a really hard time keeping the curls after it’s wet. My curls look great right when I come out of the shower and they’re almost gone when my hair dries. I’ve tried so many products but haven’t found the right one. Any suggestions?

gore: i got a perm today! this video helped me so much, thank you : )

Angely Bautista: You should do a video on different hairstyles you can do!❤ recently got a perm too after watching your videos...

Kallista Kennedy: Y’all so I’m probably getting a perm, but my hair is already damaged cuz I’ve never cut it before (not even trimmed, so yeah very damaged) and this was VERY helpful, and ik this doesn’t have anything to do with a perm but I fr forgot this was YouTube and I double tapped it to like it
