Hey y'all, it's lana welcome to my channel today, i'm about to do a really easy, beginner friendly box spray tutorial um. I think i'm about to do some small, medium, medium ones. I'Ve done big ones before, but i'm doing small ones today. Um make sure you like subscribe and comment under the video thanks for watching okay. So, let's get into what i'm using i'm using these um 500 rubber bands. I don't think it's 500 in here anymore, but i got it from the dollar store and because i'm using the rubber band method and then a rat tail comb out. You know jumbo braid in the color sticks and patience, because you need a little bit of patience. It doesn't always work out right away and then a good show or some good music, because it takes a second i'm gon na start off by parting, my whole head, which is the hardest part, but i'm gon na start in the back. Well, first, i'm going to kind of like break off an area with my hands and my hair is blow dried detangled like seven times and uh deep conditioned shampooed all that my least favorite part. But when i part the back of my hair, i use the comb and i kind of just try and go as straight as possible. Then i clean it up with a mirror afterwards. I hear struggling like it's it's easy, but it just takes me some time for the parts for each individual braid. I just take the end of the comb find where it is, go straight down. Take the piece, get a band and take the band make sure. There'S no hair around it so that it stays crisp and then wrap it as if you would a normal okay. So one cup of coffee and two hours later, i'm finished parting. My hair um, i'm not gon na lie to you. It takes a minute, but it's worth it, it makes the actual braiding go way back and i separate all the hair from the braiding package before i start braiding in my hair at least one pack at a time, but one advantage to parting your hair before you Start braiding it is. You can count exactly how many braids they're about to be so you can separate the hair accordingly so that you don't run out so after cutting mine, i have about 60 braids, so i'm gon na have to get ten braids out of each pattern. Quick mats, i personally separate it. I just take it and spread it out a whole bunch like a whole lot of that left and then i just start breaking the pieces off and holding it real tight at the top to try and lose as little hair as possible. Then i just lay it out now for the main event which you're all here for, but we all want to see what we all need to know how to braid so and don't mind the split hairs. So i have my handy dandy, piece of hair that i've separated from the rest it's about the same size as this piece of hair, like the two sides are the same size as the middle piece of hair. I'M gon na take the two wrap it over the piece of hair. I have in the middle, pull it tight down, so i'm going to pull this piece up, pull these two back and then braid it like i'm normally braiding, but really make sure. I keep an even pressure as i go then, when i get to like here, i start to mix the braiding hair in with my hair. So i take a little bit from this one start braiding with it. Then the next braid i go. I take it from the other piece shoot and then, as i go down, i kind of make sure the bottom doesn't get tangled like it is, and to do that, you have to like drag down with your braid. So like drag down like that, and then just let me get to the end, okay, tight. In a little note, why did i it's not using my british accent? Another question is your favorite album right now or song? I want to know. I was thinking about that because i parted my hair forever. Okay, that's two done. I'M gon na hit you with the time lapse as i complete my head, i'm going to show again when i get to the front, but for the middle just hit you with the timeline the center of the back. I reach my hands like directly behind my head and start it and then pull it to the side to finish the braid. So i got like 10 of them done probably like 11.. Oh my brother, i'm standing right there. You can't see them hey my brother fish, but yeah um, they're, looking cute making me a long time, but it'll be worth it even though nobody can see them. I don't know what i saw say: hi, oh hey! You wan na youtube, put your face in it. I look rusty rusty, not crusty, not dusty, but rusty tell them to subscribe james, subscribe and turn the bell on turn the bell on okay, so i have to go. Do something shout out lindsay when i get back, the lighting might be a little different, but i'm gon na finish them. When i get back your girl is back, try to get back into it. It'S all day thing y'all. This is all they think the grind does not stop. So, let's go okay, so i'm going to show you how i do each and individual one again enough with the timelapse you take this one piece of hair. These two sides are pretty much equal. Well, not really, but pretty close to the size of this one right here you take it up at the top i kind of like to have it equal on both sides. I don't i'm not. I haven't been doing any fanning, they're still kind of tapering. Somehow i don't really know, but when i boil them i think it'll look, fine um, so you take it. I put my hands like this blow. My nails hold it over top of this. One then use my middle finger to grab it and pull it on top. Now i'm holding this here like this, i'm gon na wrap and pull and pretty much braid as normal, but really as tight as i can like. The rubber band is being pushed up at this point because that's how tight i grabbed it. The rubber band really helps you with your grip, especially when you're like learning to braid and twists and everything. But once you kind of have the grip, you don't really need them as much. I like them, because it helps keep the part clean and then just keep all the way. Until my piece of hair is short, i mean it's gone, not short. Now my piece of hair is almost gone, so i'm gon na put it in the middle of these two pieces and pull from one i'm gon na pull from this one and see i just please ignore my nails, i'm so sorry i should have done my polytop. Just pull it and break it, and i kind of just keep changing the size of it until it's knotted at the bottom. From the way i'm braiding see this is i struggle a little bit don't be concerned? If you struggle a little bit, it's the end that matters, and now i have a good one, not a good one, like a good separation between all of them and that's when i just start to breathe like normal, just really keep going under under and listening to. My frank ocean and my drake and my kind of creator, my r linux and my my clothing, my juice world alexa's, been putting everything. I'Ve done my hair for a long time. This underhand braiding is what gives you this look right here. This look and keeping it the same pressure. All the way down. Just consistency is key. Braids teach you life, lessons, hair, teaches you life lessons. Everything teaches you life life is a lesson honestly. Is this a chitchat braid, my hair with me, because i'm really talking now here - i am you can't really see at the end and where i would like to stop so i'm going to do my gosh. This accident is a bad habit. What i'm going to do is see this. It'S three pieces right here: three pieces, i'm gon na make it two pieces. I'M gon na put this piece over here. Put this piece over here and then i'm gon na make a cannot or a knot, as some people would say and then make the loop put it the rabbit through the hole, try your best, just pull it out put top and then now you've got it like This ready to be boiled now come back to you when i'm doing it's literally 10 11. I started at one. I was gone for some hours, though so i mean that makes a difference, but i have eight left, i'm finally, on the home stretch, i have these and then i'll literally be done. This is the finished look. The moment has finally gone. I shouldn't be this excited, but you know look at this. We are done with the braiding just time for finishing touches and as soon as i finish, the song. Oh my gosh, i love drake and i can't tell you what the name of the song is. Are you stupid? Are you dumb? Oh it's like you fancy huh. You fancy that nails. The hair does everything that nail's done everything yeah, but my nails aren't done, but my hair, okay, look looky hold up hold up this and when i boiled the ends they kind of like waved up so now i got like a goddess braid vibe going on. I don't really know, but i'm digging the official. Also. Let me tell you some pros of doing your own hair if you haven't started it yet, it's not tight, like my head's not about to be hurting, but also i can do the movie thing like right now, like we're getting side part now. Look at that and you don't have to pay extra for tailbone length, so go order, your hair on amazon or try and figure out how to find a beauty supply store and go. Do them right now. I know you want to and comment and like and subscribe, and thank you for watching you

Gon and killua's father: Box braiding guide to success: 1. Time. It takes a lot of time so if u want it to turn out good and fast, don’t watch tv while braiding. The best thing to do is vibe to music or a podcast, or talk on the phone. U need to be looking at the mirror and ur hair, or ur tv. 2. Be patient. If it doesn’t work out the first time, try again. I’ve tried doing box braids 3 times before I got it to look good and stay on. It takes practice. 3. Don’t be buying no cheap hair. Go to sally and buy the good hair. I’m not talking bout the real human hair, but the kind that she has in the video. Try getting some that’s already feathered and ready to go besides the separating 4. Parting is hard, so if u can ask ur mom or whatever, do so. If u need help don’t be scared to ask. I look up videos on how to part better and they really help. 5. Keeping your braids straight down is very important because u don’t want no crusty braids that aren’t laying down flat. U can make them lay down buy taking some hot water in a big cup or something similar and dipping you braid in all the way to ur head, but don’t burn ur scalp. Leave it in for a few seconds and then take it out and move on. A lot of people forget to do the boil heating thing at the end but it’s super important for flat beautiful braids. Rock ur hair bby‍♀️

Favor Mulalira: So I attempted to do this and braid my hair for the first time so let me just share my experience: 1- She was 100% correct, parting was the hardest part. Even if you have all the mirrors in the world, there are still some blind spots that you’ll just have to guess on. Let your mama help you cuz that’s what I had to do 2- The rubber bands made the gripping a lot easier. I attempted to do it without and I failed. Because it is my first time, it helped me a lot. 3- The top of my braids are really really tight because I took the pressure tip wayyy too far. The braids looked uneven because I was applying too much pressure when I should have eased up as I went further down. 4- I didn’t put any product in my hair before braiding. It would have made my hair slick and impossible to grip because I’m a beginner. 5- The more braids I did, the better they looked. My first braid is hideous but my last braid is my favorite. 6- Buy a LOT of braiding hair. I overestimated the packs and almost ran out because I didn’t buy enough. Don’t make the same mistake as me. 7- It takes time!!! The parting alone took around 2 hours because I wanted it to be PERFECT. (Spoiler alert: I still couldn’t get it to be perfect.) I started everything at 6pm and finished at 3 in the morning. But again, it was my first time. Hopefully this helps you guys

Itzyolanda: Thank you !! Your the first person who actually successfully taught me how to do braids

Ebeezee: The one thing that helped me when I first started doing my own box braids is I did yarn braids first. Let me explain.... Yarn braids is like training wheels for box braids. First off it's really cheap. 1 bundle of yarn is like $2-4 dollars. Also it's easy to separate and even easier when figuring out the braid size. If you want micros use 2 strands...if you want medium used 4-6 strands and for jumbo use 8-12 strands. If you mess up you are not out any money because it will normally take 1-2 bundles to do your hair. I myself practice first with a few strands. I practice my grip and different parting techniques and finally I attempt to do my entire head. It came out ok but I knew I could do better. What finally help and made it easier is I started treating the yarn like braiding hair. I watched a bunch a videos and came up with methods to make the yarn look more natural. Finally after getting good results I switch over to regular braiding hair. After switching I discovered I'm sensitive to synthetic hair. It causes me to break out. I switched back to yarn which is another benefit...it doesn't break you out. I love my yarn braids. Especially after 2 weeks. They look more natural as they age...they mimic locs.

Lady Luchu: Love this method. Especially for my hair. I have straight hair and I’ve had my hair done w/o the rubber bands and it ddnt stay as long as it did when I did my hair with the rubber bands. perfect method for straight hair thank you for sharing and your hair is fire girrrrlllll

Daisy Lopez: Love this, I will try this, I’ve never done box braids on myself only in the salon, but I will attempt.
