This just looks so good hi. You guys welcome back to my channel. If you are new hi, my name is shani stevens. I do beauty fashion and lifestyle content here on my channel and i also happen to be a makeup artist. So, if you're interested in any of that definitely come back and watch more videos and subscribe before you leave so in today's video, i'm going to be showing you guys how i wash my tape ends. Yeah! I'M just excited to share this video with y'all, because um these tape ins, listen, i under stand. Okay, i understand it. They'Re like tapings, well, no they're, like clippings, but more seamless. I can put them up in a ponytail. It just feels like your hair and when i got my tape installed, i cut my hair into it's like right here and i think my hair is like right here before, but i haven't like. I don't think i've processed that i cut my hair yet because i've had these tapings in my hair, but i am excited to wear my shortcut anyways, that's beside the point. This intro is a little bit too long because you'll be telling me girl you're a little bit long one. Now, i'm sorry dang my bad! Let'S go ahead and get into this video, so i'm going to start off by washing my hair with the anti moisturizing care care shampoo, and i was told by my hair stylist that i shouldn't have used this um. I did have some slipping when it came to my tape ends because i'm supposed to use a sulfate free, shampoo, so yeah. If you get tape, ins and you're, washing your hair at home, try to get a sulfate free, shampoo, i'll, ask my stylist what she recommends to wash tape pins and i will link it down below for you guys, and i would still recommend this shampoo. If you don't have tape in now before i got into the shower, i went ahead and sectioned off my hair, which is why you guys see my hair in three sections. I did that because i wanted it to be easier for me to get through. These tape ends and wash the tape in because i just felt like it was going to be a little difficult and honestly, it didn't even end up being that difficult, yes, a little annoying, but it wasn't extremely difficult. In my opinion, it felt like i was washing my natural hair. I just had to make sure i was very gentle with this whole process, so with me, detangling and brushing out and sectioning the clip ins before i actually started washing them and washed it in sections. I think that really really helped me, because if i was to just go in the shower with my hair, all out, not in sections and then washing it and then try to, i feel like that would be way too much. Okay, i naturally section my hair off and wash my hair in section, because it's just easier um so applying what i do to my natural hair to washing the tape ends. I i just think it just made the whole process easier. So i'm not going to say this was a easy process because it took me about three hours to wash blow out and straighten. My hair also keep in mind that i was filming this, so i have to make sure i was in frame. I had to make sure the camera was still filming. There was a lot that i was paying attention to and i was also filming a real slash, tick tock on my phone, so i was paying attention to two cameras trying to wash my hair and make sure it came out. It was just a lot, so i think that aspect of it added on an hour maybe, but it wasn't a hard thing to do at all. If you know how to wash straighten and blow your hair out, how you want it to look, this will be no problem. You just have to have patience with the tape, because it's a foreign object attached to the strands of your hair. So you have to be gentle with it and go a bit slower and fill around and make sure the tapes aren't slipping if the tapes are slipping. I don't think there's much you can do. I would assume you would take the tape ends that are slipping out and then reinstall it, but i'm not completely sure plus. I didn't really mind the tape ends, because i knew i was going to take some of them out in the front so that i can move my middle part over to a side part because y'all seen in the install video, i had a middle part plus this Hair was super thick, so me losing four tape. Ins or two tape. Ins really didn't do much, because this hair is super thick. Now when it comes to shampooing my hair, you guys can see that i'm scratching my scalp and then pulling downward. I just want to make sure i'm not undoing all of the detangling that i did previously outside of the shower. So i want to keep my hair stretched and i want to keep it somewhat detangled, while i'm in the shower. So i'm going in scratching my scalp and then pulling it down and then once i'm done shampooing that section i'm going to put it in a big twist roll it up into a big bantu knot and then clip it out of the way and move on to The next section, as you guys, can see, i'm almost done shampooing the last section of my hair and i didn't get a clip of me, washing the shampoo out of my hair, because i think i stepped off camera to like see what was going on my camera. I don't know what i was doing, so i didn't get a clip of me washing the shampoo out of my hair, but i washed it out in sections which you guys will see me do once we get into conditioning. So let's go ahead and condition my hair and then you guys will see me actually like washing the conditioner out now, i'm using a conditioner by the same line and i'm just taking it and applying it to each section of my hair and i'm putting it at The root first and then i'm going to massage it downward and keep my hair as stretched as possible. Now i do want to say that i am not a hair stylist. I am not a licensed cosmetologist. I tell you all this in every single one of my hair videos. I think, because i just need y'all to know that i'm not licensed, and i don't know what i'd be doing for real. I just know how to finesse my hair make it look. How i want it to look by the grace of god, because i really don't be knowing what i'm doing i'll be watching videos. I question my hair stylist friend and um. I just figure it out, so i will definitely link my styluses instagram and her booking site. If you guys are interested - and if you guys need somebody here to watch on youtube when it comes to like tapings or hair in general, i watch janae, mickles and another page called studio tech, or i forgot the girl name, but i will link them on in My cards, so you guys, can watch their channel and i will also link them down below, as well as my stylist, so yeah back to what i'm actually doing in the video i'm just going to twist my hair up and out of the way put it in A bantu knot and clip it with these hair clips that i got from amazon, i'll link them down below and then i'm just putting a black plastic bag around my hair so that the conditioner has some time to sink in. While i'm doing that, i'm probably just going to clean up and then come back to you guys, okay, so i think it's been about 10 to 15 minutes. I didn't want to leave it in for 20 to 30 minutes, because i didn't want my tapes to slip. It - and i don't even know if i was supposed to do that. Okay, this is my first time washing these tape ins. These were my first time ever doing anything like this. So, of course, i might make some mistakes, a learning process for me and you guys watching this video. So if i'm doing something wrong and you're a hair stylist that comes across this video, please let me know so i know for next time. I get tape ins because i would definitely do this again so to finish washing the conditioner out of this section. I first like to start off by letting the water run through the section of hair and then once i feel like, i have a good amount of the conditioner coming out of my hair i'll. Take my brush and just keep combing through my hair, very gently. I don't comb through it a lot, but i do like to you know, make sure my hair isn't getting um clumped up if that makes sense. So i just like to use the brush to make sure the hair is not shrinking up too much and reverting because with my natural hair, i know that it shrinks up towards my scalp. I have a lot of shrinkage, so i just like to use the denman brush to keep it detangled, keep it stretched and it just makes the whole blow drying process easier, which is why i don't do a lot of detangling, because i continuously detangle, while i'm washing My hair, now that i'm out the shower, i'm taking the one united multi, benefit spray and spraying this over each section of my hair and this acts as a heat protectant. It also acts as a detangler and it keeps my hair detangled and soft and it cuts my blow drying time in half. So that's why i really like the spray. I do think they still sell it. If they don't. I will try to link a similar um version, so yeah i'm just going to go ahead and spray this all over each section of my hair and this product is um diluted with water. So i am spraying a lot more than i usually do, because i am running out of this product, so i try to make more by just mixing it with water, so it is very diluted, but it still does an amazing job with me, blowing out and detangling. My hair and i think it's worth every penny and this one bottle has lasted me a very very long time. I don't even remember when i last repurchased this spray bottle. It had to be before the year 2020, because i don't think i was doing a lot of buying in the year 2020. So it's definitely been a good two years. Maybe three, since i've had this same bottle. So if you buy this product and you go and look at the price and be like. Oh my gosh, this is a lot of money. Listen you get a return investment because it pays for itself foreign. I know you wan na, be somebody okay, so it took me about 12 13 minutes to do this to detangle brush it out, so that it's a little bit easier. When i go through and blow dry each section everything is already sectioned off. So let's go ahead and get into blow drying and see how long this takes. So if you guys are familiar with me blowing out my hair, you guys know that i do the tension method, so i'm basically just keeping the hair in a twist and once i feel like the root is dry, i'm going to take the twist out and then Proceed to keep stretching and blowing the hair out now, once i feel like, i have blow-dried the hair out enough for me to like blow dry through it um i'm going to put a different nozzle on and just go through and make sure it's staying as straight As possible and then i'm going to take the nozzle off and go in and dry my tapes because for some reason i felt like my scalp was still a little damp, so i just wanted to go through and make sure my scalp was dry. Maybe i was sweating, i don't know okay, so it is exactly 9 32 and i think i started blow drying my hair at, like maybe 8 30, so roughly an hour to just do the part where the tape ends are. So let me go ahead and finish off this part, because this part doesn't have any tape ends and i will start straightening right. I'M just gon na leave that in a small loose ponytail, because i think well, i can feel some of the tape slipping so yeah. Let'S do this situation all right and now it is 9 40., so yeah i still feel like see. This is what i'm talking about. Why does it keep? This is what i should have just got kinky straight. If you're going to wear your tape ends straight, get kinky straight, if you know for sure for sure you're not wearing it. Curly at all do not get pearly just get kinky straight all right. So this is how the hair is looking in a blowout state and i am going to go through straighten it and then probably curl it. I still feel like my scalp is a little damp, so i have to go. Do something real quick, so i'm gon na do that and then i'm going to straighten and um curl honestly. If this hair would hold like a straighten, i wouldn't even strain it. I would just go in and curl it because that's what i would do with my hair um and i was just like straighten the roots like i usually do. But since it's not holding like a blowout in a curl, i'm gon na go in and straighten it and see if it helps it not poof up so much. You know so yeah my hair looks nice okay. So before we get into straightening this hair and curling it, i just wanted to show you guys, um, i guess the texture of my hair and how it looked all over. But i would still recommend if you are going to wear this hair straight, get the kinky straight version of this hair. Don'T get the water curly that i got it is beautiful, but if you're not going to wear it curly it defeats the whole purpose. Honestly um. It just makes more work for you, so just get the kinky straight. I just feel like it would be less work, especially if you're doing it at home, and i do have um kinky straight clip-ins from crowsqueen. So if you guys want to see how that look, i will link that video above. That'S why i keep telling you guys, if you're going to wear your hair straight, just get this straight version or something that's closer to it being straight like body wave or something like that, but getting curly. I probably won't ever do that again. Moving into straightening, i'm just going to section off the back part of my head, i'm trying to fill around and make sure the part is kind of even and i did notice that some of the tapes were slipping, which you guys can kind of see. I don't remember if i took them out or just let them stay there, but yeah some of the tapes are slipping and that's how they look once i feel like. I have parted off good enough. I'M going to take the top section of my hair and put it in a bun and then go in and flat iron. The tape in first and chase it with my rat tail comb and then i'll also go in and straighten my hair kind of with the tape in. If that makes sense, honestly, my hair didn't take much to straighten it was just. I just wanted to make sure the tape ends were getting straight, which is why i'm kind of putting my focus on the tape ends, because i know my hair and i know i just have to pass through it one time and be done with it. But with the tape ends, i have to pay a little bit more attention, so i'm just taking each tape in and straining it and then going in and straightening my hair throughout the rest of my hair. I kind of didn't take each tape in by itself because i kind of got the hang of it, but in the back section i was just trying to figure out the whole straightening process and i pretty much just did the same thing as me: straightening my own Hair, you just have to be mindful of the tape okay. So let's talk about how long it actually took me to finish this whole process, and this still might not be accurate, because i don't have the start to finish time, because i wasn't really paying attention to the time i was just going with vibes. You know so the first clip i have on my phone is when i got in the shower to start washing my hair and the time on this video starts at 6. 46 p.m. April. 20Th. I don't know why. I told you guys the date that i filmed this video, but there it is so i started at 6. 46 p.m. That'S when i hopped in the shower to start washing my hair and the last clip that i have is of me with my hair straightened before i curled it, and that clip is at 12 59. So roughly this took me six hours, probably dang near seven hours. Okay, i did not know it took me that long to do this whole process, but seeing how long it took me to get the hair installed. This doesn't surprise me um. So if you do not have the patience, if you do not have the patience, i would just stick with clip-ins, because i'm ready to put my clippings back in my hair, okay. This was too much for me, but i would definitely do it again and if you're wondering how long it actually took me to get this hair installed, i think it took roughly five hours to get it installed. Um, probably a little bit more but go back to the install video and i might have told you guys how long it actually took in that video all right. So obviously i finished straightening my hair and it came out wonderful, i'm feeling myself low-key high-key, but it came out really really good. So i'm gon na go in and put this frisbee gone serum in it to keep it straight for a longer period of time. I don't know if this really works, but i've been using it for years and i really like it. So i guess it works. So i'm just gon na put this all throughout my hair and then i'm just going to go in and put a couple layers in my hair because, as you guys can see, i have a long bob. I guess you can say, and you can kind of see it so i feel like i need to put a little bit more layers in my hair plus i did move my hair over to a side part. I know i didn't show you guys that process, but some of the tape ends were just already sliding. So i was just like. Let me go ahead and take them out. They literally just peeled off because there was already um water in between the tapes, so they just kind of peeled off for the tapes that didn't come off easily. I just used alcohol in between it and i'm not completely sure if i was supposed to do that. But alcohol was the only thing that i had on hand. The only thing that i could think of that would remove the tape in. So that's what i used and it literally came off so easy. I didn't have any breakage any hair pulled out or anything like that. The tape just came off. Okay, moving into the styling portion of this video or curling portion, whatever you want to call it, i'm going to go ahead and curl my hair with this jumbo curling iron. I don't really know how big this is. It might be an inch and a half if i'm not mistaken, because i know my flat irons are an inch and this is way bigger than my flat iron. So i think it might be a one and a half inch and when it comes to curling my hair, i just curl everything away from my face. It doesn't matter if i'm using a wand or a curling iron or a flat iron. Every curl is going to be going away from my face, like flipped away from my face. So i put the hair in the um curling iron and the clamp is like facing away from my face. I really feel like i'm going to confuse you guys just know i curl away from my face. I don't usually curl anything towards my face because it just doesn't look right on me um, so everything goes away from my face, even the curls in the back. It goes away from my face so yeah i'm just going to keep curling my hair, um and yeah. This just looks so good and y'all can kind of see how long my hair is now and this bob i'm so pressed to wear my natural hair out just so. I can see how this long vibe looks on me, but we'll get to that. I haven't debuted. My haircut yet y'all just know the insider knowledge. Oh my gosh, i'm annoying but yeah. I'M just gon na go ahead and finish curling, my hair, um and i'll come back to you guys when i'm done 10 tell me okay, so the curls came out so good, and at this point it was very very late. So i just wanted to go ahead and put some rollers in my hair and get to bed, because i had stuff due in the morning, and my attention was well intentions - was to come back on camera and show you guys um how my hair looked the day. After me, taking the rollers down, because when i do put rose in my hair, it creates more of a tighter curl, which i do like because it just preserves the curls for a longer period of time. So, throughout the day, my hair will drop to what it looks like now, but at the beginning of the day, it's more of a tighter curl. If that makes sense - and i really did want to come on camera and show you guys that, but i had to be out of town for my best friend's birthday - you guys can watch all of that in um, april's vlog but yeah. I apologize for not being the best content creator that i could have been in that moment, but it's okay. I hope you guys get the gist of everything that was going on in this video, so i'm gon na go ahead and finish. Putting rollers in my hair wrap my hair up to go to sleep, and i will see you guys in the outro all right. You guys so that is pretty much it for today's video. I really hope you guys enjoyed it. If you guys have any more questions for me, comments concerns leave them down below in my descript, not description, leave them down below. In my comment section - and i will do my best to answer you guys with the best of my abilities y'all know i'm not a hairstylist okay i'll, be telling y'all this um, but i'll definitely try to help you out if you need it so yeah. I really hope you guys enjoyed today's video once again and i will see you guys in my next video. If you guys are interested in the install process, i will link that video on the screen. So if you haven't already seen this video, i think i'll link that one will i this is the wash day yeah. I will link the install video on the screen, so if you haven't already seen it definitely click and watch, and let me know what you think and subscribe to my channel, if you haven't subscribed already, you made it all the way to the end.
