Slade by jordan and the company we'll be working with today is callie hair. They sent me over this bum 24 inch highlight lace, front curly unit right now, i'm showing you everything that came inside my packaging and an adjustable strap and the knots do also come a little pre-bleached. This is a 13 by four lace, frontal unit and the lace is a swiss lace in the medium brown color. The hairline does also come pre-pluck, but i did go ahead and bleach the knot some more and pluck it some more. Even though the lace is medium brown y'all, it was very thin and it still melts it down. So i love that we did get a little shedding, but it was expected. This is a curly unit. Now my beautiful model and we're gon na get straight into this detail. We can style for the first step. You definitely want to get you a flat base. You can either do a ponytail if your hair is finer or it's easier to slick down or if you have very thick hair, you can go ahead and do some cornrows, which is what i'm going to do now, i'm going to bring her hair straight back. You know nothing fancy do this all the time once our breakdown is complete, we're to go ahead and take our got to be glued the yellow bottle, because it's the strongest and we're going to slick back her edges in the front and in the back. You also want to slip the edges in the back, so just in case the wind blows, or you know, they're doing something crazy and you know you see the size of their hair. It won't be looking crazy, it'll, be slick and neatly in place with a good day, and please do not skip yourself. You must oil that scalp, i don't care if you use the grease the oil or butter uh some. You need to put something on that scalp, because i've noticed that a lot of people have some very dry scalps. A lot of people don't take scalp care seriously. Y'All you got ta, make sure you protect the scalp if the scalp is not healthy. Your hair is not gon na, be healthy, okay, just a pro tip, and now it's time for the ball kept method. This is the same model from my updated ball, kept method, video that i posted. Maybe i think that was back at the end of january, but now i'm doing a different method, because it's summertime and y'all know people is sweating more, you know doing more hot girl stuff. So we do the method just a little bit different and i know i talked so much junk about this method but y'all, you know, you know, you know. Okay stuff happens. So i'm just gon na sew that cap down - and you know i'm gon na cut out the holes around the ear. So the cap can be secured around the ears as well, and i'm gon na show y'all the new method i've been using lately in this hotter weather. Do this all the time? Yes, yes, i use glue to secure the stocking cap, [ Laughter ]. So what i do is i outline the glue in the shape of their hairline. Never just straight across. I make sure i follow their hairline smooth it out, and then i stick them up on a dryer until it's fully dry, simple, no sprays, no gels just just use the glue. Oh, do this all the time once she is dry, and let me do note that i put her up under a medium heat dryer, not a high heat dryer. You can do medium on cold air, once she's done being dry, i'm not taking my makeup and putting it on the cap now with the glue method, as you can see like when it dries down it matches the skin color perfectly regardless, because it's just glue. So what i do is, i usually just put the makeup behind that glue line and that just works for me, um yeah. I don't want to kill. You is now after this step. You will go ahead and clean the hairline with alcohol or sea breeze and use your skin protectant, but i'm going to be completely transparent when my clients come in with the full face of makeup and that makeup is beat honey, i'm not swiping, none of it off. I just go ahead and glue it down and it still lasts. Okay, but let's get into this hairline, though, do i hear a plucking video coming up y'all better. Let me know in the comments below so now we're going to cut out her ear tabs and then we're going to make sure that those straps in the back are adjusted, and i did in fact think i did so this week. Now, i'm not sure. Oh look at me. I did sew this wig down just for extra security. You know my girl here she loves to turn up. You know her off days as we all do and yeah. We just want to make sure that we get secure baby. Oh we're now taking our hair by erica j hold me down adhesive and we're done that along the hairline, making sure that the glue does get on the skin as well. You cannot just put glue on the cap that glue has to touch the skin too. If you want it to last telling you what i know and once you dot it along where you need it to you, just want to smooth it back as flat as possible and make sure it turns clear. Before you add your next layer do not add layers on top of white glue, it's just going to get clumpy and just too much going on so make sure that every layer turns clear. Before you add another layer, we did four layers today, so yeah stay tuned. Our fourth layer is dry, so now we're going to proceed to lay that lace down. You want to make sure that the hairline of the wig can be just a little smidgey in front of the glue, because wigs tend to slide back. So don't put the hairline directly on where the glue stops there put it a little bit in front of it. That'S going to be another pro tip for you as well, and you just want to use the teeth of the comb to comb that lace into the skin and get your blow dryer. Switching between warm and cool air and yeah. You win the game baby. I don't want to be me: get your elastic band you're, going to tie the lace down you're going to leave that top for about 10 minutes. You don't have to sit them up under a dryer, but i do set my eyes on there like a cool, warm dryer. Just you know, for extra added help. So now it's time to cut that lace off using our eyebrow razor and our shears, if needed, be very gentle very slow. When you do this step, we are not in a rush and do not cut that lace in a straight line. I don't want you on my mind. I don't need to hear and if i didn't mention i did not put any makeup on this lace at all either um. I just felt, like the lace, blended, very good with her skin tone, so makeup wasn't needed, but i may add a little bit at the end, but for right now it's good! Oh! I don't want you now, i'm going to go ahead and put her apart into place. We'Re going to do a middle part today we're going to leave the hair kind of big and wild, because i love the exact, color and tone this wig is when it's dry. When you wet the hair, it does tend to get a little darker and that's fine too, but i just love this exact tone in color: go ahead and pre-section out all the hairs that you want for your baby hairs and then hot comb. Everything else to the back: oh now, you're going to take your favorite, hairspray and you're going to spray it right on the hairline. Do not be afraid it's going to melt that lace right on in and after you spread the hairspray you're going to get your elastic band and tie right on down after about five to ten minutes of having the elastic band on you want to comb out your Baby hairs um the hair that you're gon na use for your baby hairs and hot comb them forward. Then you're gon na cut them down and proceed to start laying them down. Y'All already know i use my edge comb and mousse to lay them down. You can use gel um, you can i've seen people use edge control, you know, do whatever makes you feel comfortable, but i use mousse because i love a softer look with my baby hairs. Facebook. Oh, oh, no! Footage, oh party! So now you just want to tie that hair down after you lay those baby hairs. I always use three wrap strips and i fold them over um. I did spray a little bit of water on the front part of the wig just because it's been getting manipulated. So much and i wanted to make sure that it matches the back um it's still going to all match in the end, but yeah after i set her up on the dryer for about 20 minutes on high 15 to 20 minutes on high. As you can see, the baby hairs are dry, but we are not done with them. Yet we're going to go ahead and calm them out to give them a softer. Look whenever you comb your baby hairs out and um, you see that they are too thick y'all. Don'T be afraid to pluck them baby hairs and cut them down if you need to, they don't have to stay like this and that's what i always do off camera like you see that that's very cute, but if you want to make them thinner and cut them, You can and that's exactly what i did after i finished with her baby hairs. I did go ahead and define her part with my rat tail comb and i sprayed some temporary brown hair spray over it just to make it more defined honey. She is loving.
