Suttas swans here today to make a video what is going on. Well, there's a lot of hair, there's a wig thing, there's a blow-dryer, there's some me and then there's my old friend. Just in case, you didn't hear me. I said all right guys. Well, as you probably know, jenna Marbles is one of my favorite youtubers. Recently she did a video trying to make a wig with hot glue. Believe it or not. This is something that I've always wanted to do. I'Ve always wanted to make a human wig and I've never done it. I have made many doll wigs in my life, so I'm going to approach this project very similarly to making a doll wig, but just I'm making it for me. So I'm probably not going to be doing this, the way that you have seen it done in other tutorials, because I'm just using my own personal knowledge and what I know of wig making to make a wig I'm using this synthetic hair. I think it's pink come on. I don't know how to pronounce it whatever, but a friend of mine, who makes wigs told me that this is a really good synthetic hair to use. It'S also super cheap, like I got eight packages and they're 26 inches long, and I think it was like 20 dollars from Amazon. I also got the whole wig making kit that came with the canvas head here, which I made sure to get in the size of my actual head came with a wig cap to make the wig on and like stuff to sew it if you're, actually gon na Sew the wig, like good luck now I probably could sew wig right, but I'm the kind of person who likes to do things fast, and so I'm like I've got hot glue. Let'S try that, even though my motto is that hot glue doesn't actually work for anything, we just like to believe it works, because life will be so convenient if a hot glue actually worked. So we convinced ourselves that it works, even though it doesn't. So my expectations are about here - let's see if we can get over here, so the wig that I'm making today. This is actually like a two-for-one okay, because I'm making a wig with hot glue, but also it's a cosplay wig, because I want to cosplay Lucy from ELF and lead one of my favorite animes, one of the first animes I ever loved. When I was younger and I was like instead of buying her wig, I should make it seeing as how I want to make a wig anyway. So that's what I'm going to be doing today. As you see, this hair is not on a weft. This is loose right and that's good, because that's actually what I want I know, sounds crazy. That'S what I'm saying so this is not gon na, be, like probably other wig making tutorials you've seen in fact scratch that this is not an educational tool. I say this every time, guys I'm having fun, I'm bringing you along with me and if you've learned something that's great and if you don't, then it's alright, because it's what some educational tool anyway with that being said, I am going to show you what I'm doing To the best of my ability - and hopefully you will learn something so I'm going to start by just I mean jumping right the into it we're gon na start from the bottom work our way up to the top, just like any successful rapper. Let'S get into it. Awesome, I really like I want to keep the length right. So what I'm gon na do is take a section wow that looks so right that you did that Sara. You should come up with a better way to do it. Alright, well almost not quite glue gun down great we're going to a great start and I'm gon na glue it onto the wig like so, and then I'm just gon na go all the way around the bottom and then like work. My way up in layers - and I guess what I'm gon na do - is maybe move the camera so that you can like see I'm doing one Jimmy, not okay, so I actually get just step we're gon na pretend, like I didn't, do all that for no reason Found and we're gon na put a plastic bag over her head so that the glue doesn't stick to the thing. Now, I'm really not trying to flex on y'all with my Publix bag. If you feel flex on honestly, you need to ask yourself why, since I want the bottom to be long, we're gon na use most of the length more blue than last time cuz. It wasn't right much better than the first time. Okay, like I'm just pulling off the shed and the pieces that didn't stick well to the glue. Oh, why aren't you a giant chunk of hair on the floor, so I'm actually gon na go over this spot again, because I want to have more glue on it. So, oh, no, don't be tangled rude, so I'm just gon na continue on doing it like this and then I'm just gon na like build up the head, and I guess, like smash together a time lapse. Then I cut it. When I have things to say, does that sound good? Okay, good, okay, guys? So that is that's one package down, so I got the whole first package in the back of the head here. There was quite a bit of shed, but I think from this point on I'll, get better at managing this length of hair. So I'm just gon na go ahead and throw this in a rubber band, so it doesn't continue to get in the way and then I'm going to move on to the next layer of hair. Okay, I just wanted to show you guys, really quick, the last layer that I did um so like okay, so this is the last layer. I did right here. Okay, that's what it looks like and this one is actually shorter than the other ones, because I folded it like you know at first I was folding it a little bit in half or not even in half, but I just folded the tip and then I did It like three quarters for like one quarter, whatever I'm bad at math, so now from this layer onward, I'm actually gon na fold the hair completely in half, so that the wig will actually fall in layers before I even cut it or style it so that the Bottom will be the longest and, as we work our way up the top up the head, the layers get shorter and shorter, also by folding them in half it adds volume. So it's not like we cut it and then you know tape glued it down that way. Since we fold it in half, it's like you're getting two layers for every bundle that you do so this is what it looks like so far and I I'm excited to get to the front of the wig so that we can actually do the bangs cuz. I feel like that part's gon na be the one that has the most styling. So now we are going to work our way up the top of the head, and then I will show you guys how I do the part when I get there, because I think that part is pretty interesting. Okay, guys now we are going to do the bangs. So I have a picture of Lucy on my computer over there, so I can look at it while I do them, but basically she's got like some shorter situation on the side and then she kind of has it across the forehead thanks. But you know they're anime. So they're they're stylized, so we're going to try to follow the shape that they are and I'm just gon na get going with it. Okay, so I actually need scissors now we're gon na do like those side tendrils first and those are shorter, so we're gon na cut this in half all right. As you can see, I glued it down the opposite way that I wanted to it to fold to try to hide the seams a little better and we will go and with some scissors - and you know we're going to have to style the bangs, which is totally Fine, but we just want to get the best shape. We can to start. I'M actually gon na put a little glue in between here all right now. We'Re gon na do the other side that one's a little bit lower, so I'm probably gon na, have to cut that trim it to match the other side, but no big deal so either. I could do them all the same length and then cut them, or I can try to style them to begin with, and I think I'm gon na do a little bit of both. So I'm going to cut this in half again and now I'm going to put a tiny bit of glue between the bangs and the middle part and I'm going to sandwich them together to hide the glue. Okay, so trust me. I know this looks crazy. Okay, hi guys it's actually the next day, because man I spent hours just brushing this wig out last night to get out all of the shed. This fiber is definitely very interesting, somewhat difficult to work with um. I don't just like it um and I think, for it probably would work amazingly for a shorter wig even but for the longer wig. I think, there's just gon na be some managing it to try to not let it get tangled. But it's very very long, which is what I need for the character that I'm trying to cosplay, because she's got very long here. As you can see, I started to cut the bangs a little bit, but I'm going to now straighten the wig and then attempt to style the bangs with just water and hairspray, because I looked it up and that's what people supposedly use. What did i do? Did I not even bring the hair spare with me? I hate myself um, so I use all of the hair except for like two packages, so I have an unopened package and an open package that I use a little tiny bit out of um. I think maybe I used too much hair in hindsight. I definitely used a lot um. I probably could have spared some of that hair usage, but that's okay. I can always thin it out if I have to, but so now, I'm just gon na. I have this tied back so that I could see the the bangs isolated from it, but what I'm gon na do now is just try to straighten all of this out and hopefully that'll help. It fall smoother and keep from tangling too much, because this stuff can tangle somewhat easily, even though it's all been brushed out a lot. So I'm gon na go ahead and start straightening it that took so long, okay that took like freaking forever. Thankfully, though, I feel like the results are pretty decent. This hair was recommended to me because it's heat-resistant, but I wonder if there's mm-hmm, it's synthetic hair that isn't quite as tangle II that I could use instead cuz. This is still pretty tangley. I feel like it. Could still probably take a lot pretty easily there's the top of the wig. Now I'm gon na go ahead and try to style these bangs so that then I can wear the wig crazy, crazy. You guys we're gon na wear this frickin way. Well, you guys hair! You have it as with anytime. I make something I'm absolutely terrified to move too much, because I don't want to ruin it. I'M a kind of person who I make things and I'm like okay cute now, I'm never gon na use it because that's it a long time. So I don't really know: I'd have to actually wear this for an extended period of time to know how well it will keep from tangling, but okay, so the outfit I'm wearing. This is not my like official Lucy cosplay, it's just something that I own. That looks very similar to something that she wears in the anime, so I just decided to put it on, but I do think that in the future I'm going to sew a an outfit um. I think the only thing left I would want to do to this wig is to thin it out, because I think I use maybe a little too much hair, so I might go in underneath and thin it out from like the inside, just so that it lays Maybe flatter against my head, but this is what it looks like you can see. It is extremely long. I probably overdid it a little bit, but that's me I overdo so I mean for the first and only cosplay wig I've ever made, I think, came out pretty good and I think with the right makeup and a good photo session in the right outfit. I think that this could make some really really cool cosplay pictures, so I mean I think that this was a success now, as I said at the top of the video you shouldn't, use it as an educational tool, because I'm not teaching, but I do hope that You learned something maybe, and I do think that this process could be used to make wigs that aren't you know for cosplaying I mean there's hair my mouth. The way that I did the bangs in the part and everything was specific to the fact that this gon na be an anime style. Wig and those are really realistic. But if you were to buy say a lace closure and so that into the front of the wig, then you could make a really realistic, looking wig with this process. So if you guys found this entertaining, let me know, and maybe I'll try to make other wigs in the future. Maybe I'll try to do other characters or you know something. Let me know in the comments. Maybe you could nominate something and if you really want a tutorial, maybe I could try, but I don't consider myself a professional and anything that I do, except for the things that I do professionally and then sell, which is like artwork. But this is just fun crafting time, so let me know what you guys think of the wig in the comments below I think it came out, pretty freakin cool, I mean the water definitely helps style it. I think I could use a little bit more product to get the bangs to stay, how I want them overall, I do think it came out really cute and, like I said, the only thing that I would really want to do is maybe put some more product In like the little tendril pieces here to get them to fall more, how I want them, I'm not gon na sit here and say that I'm shocked because I didn't expect to do a terrible job, because I have some experience making wigs on a small scale. But I didn't think I would do quite this good of a job. I mean, despite the fact that I used too much hair. Like literally, I think that's. The only thing that I'm upset about is that I used too much hair, but besides that, like I've bought a lot of cosplay wigs offline and like this is a lot better than any cosplay wig I've ever bought and also cheaper, because this synthetic hair was like. I said about 20, something dollars for those eight packages, which was way more than I needed. I spent about 40 dollars to make this wig, which is probably how much something like this would cost if I were to buy it already made. But now, if I make more wigs in the future, I won't have to spend that much because I'll already own the head and now that I have this - I don't have to buy it again and then so. Wigs will cost me like. However much the hair costs in the future, so I mean this was super fun um, I don't know man I mean I, I know people who cosplay, but I don't know many people who make their own cosplay wigs and I'm gon na recommend it from now on. If people are gon na cosplay and they want to make parts of it, I'm gon na be like make your wig, because it's fun and totally doable. Let me look at me. I did it I'm nobody. Thank you guys so much for watching and now I'm going to take a moment to thank my patrons. Thank you guys so much for all of your support. I have exciting news now. I can offer monthly perks instead of bimonthly, because I got a printer and now I can make my own stickers and my own art prints, which was a lot of the stuff that I gave away on a bi-monthly basis on a bi-monthly basis. So if you pledge 5 dollars or more per month, you will get perks mailed to you also when you pledge as little as one dollar. That'S when you name shows up here at the end of my videos. Okay, now I will verbally thank my diamond cheer patrons. Thank you so much Lindsay and Sarah and Sarah, so I mean we're just a bunch of Sarah's. I mean it's. Springsteppy: Homemade/custom made wigs are always so much better than the ones you can buy online. They're always so much thicker and don't leave gross bald patches

Chris Dang: A really good idea for cosplay wigs might have to try this myself

I'm a motherfreaking avocado: This is the most chaotic way of doing anything, and I love it. Also, I'm looking for wefts to make a wig for my Mikan cosplay. Does anyone know where to find ones that are close to her hair colour, and isn't too expensive? I've looked everywhere and it's killing me-

A J: I’m not even into cosplay, I just wanna make a wig for fun

TashaAkaTachi: I wouldn't have had the patience to do this. It came out looking great! I love Elfen Lied ❤

Watercooler. Romance: I just ran out of hot glue I'm going to try this method after I get more, but considering the situation I'm going to have to wait, also I don't have hair so I'm going to have to use yarn

VixleMix!: This is the exact type of video I’ve been looking for! Now I can try to make an osana najimi cosplay! :0

Chibi-Bombyx: Omg Sarah yessssss. The video I’ve always secretly wanted but never thought to want. XD I also loved Elfin Lied but the manga was what I experienced first so I’m biased because of that, I really liked the manga a bit better. Then ending was wonderful but like IDK with today’s standards if its still too intense for kids / not safe for younger people or not? But yeah, super cool. Plus if you do a cosplay especially Lucy you dont even need to make the “vectors” / invisible arms because they are invisible!! Hot glue is like that one friend you really hope every time will be super reliable but it’s not when you need it to be, and pleasantly surprising often enough when you dint have as much faith in it that you will believe it more again the next time. Haha!

Kinako: This was so fun to watch, and helpful, love the end results. I am looking to make myself a Keqing Wig from Genshin Impact

CREATIVE CRAZINESS: This was awesome! You did a great job! And yes, I actually did learn something from it!

quii: eee, i really wanna start cosplaying, but its sorta awkward to ask my mom(im 11!) if i could just go to the store to buy some hair lol. so i make it out of yarn, and then hot glue it to a wig cap! jssjdj this is my first actual cosplay, all the others ive done only involved makeup. hopefully it turns out well! p.s. loved the videoo!! <3

kam: Thank you(: I’m thinking about doing cosplay but don’t really have the money to buy stuff so I’m a cosplayer on a budget lol

nltcraze: This is very ghetto and I think it turned out pretty well! I will def use this to make my own cheap wig that photographs well. Thanks girl!

Liz: i just found a bunch of Ibuki colored pipecleaners, ✨ it’s time ✨

Mazais Ļenuļis: Amazing wig, you did a very good job!

Iris Thyselius: Im prob going to make an Ibuki Mioda cosplay out of yarn with this method! I love it!

Paula Abdul: Good job on your first cosplay wig, Bravo!!

Davian Castillo: Your video is very entertaining and hilarious I love ur humor ❤️❤️ ALSO I WISH I COULD MAKE THAT WIG BC IT LOOKS AWESOME

Beverly Ann: Just a little tip, since I have a black dad I’m very familiar with this fake hair and I really spend half of my life on doing things to my hair and yeah I also have braids very often and when I had hair left i wore it in a ponytail but I realised it looks stupid because of the structure. Then I started dipping it in Hot water and it became so soft and manageable and shiny and of course it becomes thinner because it’s less rough. But of course you gotta make sure this is resistant. But I think they are all hot water resistant . Cool video ❤️ Edit: oh and I also curled it by putting it on flexi Rods (which are very cheap) and then dipped it in hot water and beautiful curls came out so if you interested in different types of hair just try it out

Haley Redfern: This is amazing, like cosplay porn lol. It really is incredible, I plan on trying something like this in the future

NuggetTato: I hear everyone saying to use the got to be glued hair spray, if the water and hair spray doesn't stay too good try that, I'm bad at the got to be hair spray though, it sticks to my hands and then I stick to the wig

My Name Is Alex: I love your wig! It looks amazing! I'm going to start planning on making my own wig. Btw, have you ever thought of using it as a Yuno Gasai wig, also?

I hate mahiru: Thank you for this! I'm off to the craft store right now to buy supplies

Art Nerd Cosplays: Im honestly surprised that the hot glue kept the hair down. Good job!!!! This helped a lot and Im gonna try it with yarn!

NuggetTato: I've been looking for wigs the right color and length but it's hard to find some, so i wanna know...can you use super glue too, or is that too much? Im just scared if i make a wig with hot glue it'll come undone when i brush it

Paula Abdul: I love to make wigs with Kanekalon too. I also love to do the glue gun method and crotchet method. I like your method too. I like to cosplay and do my own wigs too. I cosplay professionally as SuperWoman or Paula Abdul Sutton Sr./ Paula Abdul on YouTube as well. Thanks for doing a great job. AWESOME!!

trashy.lemons: what is the link to the amazon page for the synthetic hair? if you still have it <3

Emily Dee: THANK YOU ;v; I didn't want to ask my parents or friend for one I wanted on amazon because I'm a wimp

Emoboyig: Thanks! I really want to Start cosplaying but it’s always hard to find cheap and good wigs and plus my sure making your own wig to fun!

Nora Vik: omg i love the wig its so cute and pretty i wish i could have that UwU

Butter: Hello! I know it’s been a while, but do you think I could use wefts made out of yarn for this? I made yarn wefts but I didn’t know how to put them on the cap! I’m trying to make my wig for Uraraku!

C Wiese: Love it!!! I want to braid your new hair!!

robert smith: awesome great for cosplay:)

David B: you look amazing! before and after the wig. 100% Snack!

Sara A: I think that you did a great job!! The wig is very beautiful and I like the color! <3

Confused Cabbage: You did a very good job!! It was interesting to watch

Mister Vloop: Great work on the wig!!! =)

KuraiUsagi: The HUGE downside to this is that with hot glue, you cannot wash it properly when the wig gets dirty from wearing it after a long time

dethkruzer: I'm curious to know how it held up in use? Might use a similar method for my next project.

TeD van Loon: now just imagine what kind of work anime characters would have to do every day to style their hair if it wasn't done by magic.

Mike Nino: Looks really freaking kool on you good job.

Vanessa A: 12 year old me watching this: Money...YES. COSPLAYS AND MONEY. YES

Moyses Israel Rivera: I made this Cosplay wig and I loved it now

nutmeg418: This is the first video I've ever seen of yours and omg you had me rolling

wyatt ?!: thank you! i need this for my chiaki cosplay

Novalytical: Magic. That's all I have to say. This is magic. Sorcery. Witchcraft.

blackmarya: Never seen anyone make a wig without pre wefted hair, looks so easier to make a parting without the weft ribbon showing! Great work! btw With kanekalon hair you can easily use a hairdryer on a high setting to straighten It out, just hold it at the top of the hair or roots and point the hairdryer down towards the ends and it with blow it straight. Look at tutorials for goth pony falls with kanekalon hair for a better idea from one awesome Sarah to another lol

S y k o: I do have a question, now that it's been about a year, did the wig hold up well?

cosmicalss: When I saw your face I was shook like : "Swandzz doing.....wigs- WHO IS THIS AND WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE REAL SWANDZZ"

Boke Trashmouth: Since I can’t find a wig for Amanda O’Neill from Little Witch Academia I’m gonna make one

g0rE ablE: To be honest she looks more like Yuno Gasai from future diary

Xen: your hotglue motto is so true

Levi Lawson: Okay so like, ive been considering of doing this but, if you remember where- where did you get the wig cap! Like at a store or online?

weeb _org: This is really helpful^^ and you sound a lot like junk enoshima from dr

• RoseLiz •: 5:10 I HAVE THAT EXACT SAME HAIRBRUSH XD

Fizzbee: I'm too poor to effort hot glue lol

Isabella Peterson: I love it I was thinking of making a wig to

Gerard Way's Eyeliner: ahhh im cosplaying jinx for comic con but im TALL and all the wigs are too short (i want looooongggg braids). lifehack make it yourself

Deeviixo: lol not even a minute in and youre hilarious!

𝙻𝚡𝚗𝚊𝚛_𝚂𝚕𝚊𝚢𝟹𝚛: This could pass as a luka wig

Xen: hey could you share the link of the exact amazon seller you bought the hair from?

Roxanne: Let it soak in downy and it should help how tangly it is.

min: if i want to make a short (but not thaaatt short) wig, how many hair should i buy?

bambina: might try this

Mike Nino: Can you make a bride of chucky wig orange or reddish. I'm tryna make one looks pretty easy thanks.

Niyoosha: I usually make my wigs like this but for my runa cosplay idkkk cus wigs are expensive and making it just turns out shit

Ann Cloud: 0:25 *There's a me!* Me: *immediately subscribe*

SatanPony: Same elfen leid was one of my first animes but my very first was tokyo mew mew

gk: Also is there an update or a pic you can share of that wig now and the quality/shape? I also didn't catch what kind of hair/material you used?

tiktokcompz: what if the hair falls off cause with my luck it might anddd- my sister like to try to pull my wig off

Miso: How many glue sticks do you need to make a wig? I want to try but Idk How much i need to buy.

MIKA_CHXN !: What did you use for the bangs? Like style it-

Kiyami Sakura: Where do you get your wig hair from??

sage: i wanna make this and sell them

gk: Your Publix uses plastic bags? I went to my local Publix once and they only offered paper bags. Which is fine. Idk why that caught my attention so hard.
