Hi everyone, I'm Stephen, a salon guy and welcome to Total Request hair where you guys send me requests, and hopefully I can do them for you now. My most recent request was the Taylor Swift, bang. Now, Taylor Swift, has very heavy bangs in the front here or what some like, especially in England, likes a fringe she's got a very heavy section and through here it's a beautiful look that Taylor Swift has so I'm gon na show you guys how to achieve that. Look, I'm gon na show you guys how I section this and it's pretty simple, basically from the high point of the head and what we did is then created a triangle to the corner of each eye, and that is gon na be our section. What I did is, I dampened the section here, and what we're going to do is now create the base. Now her her bangs are a little on the longer side that actually come just a little bit past her eyebrows they're almost covering her eyes. So, in this case, what I want to do is actually cut them a little bit on the longer side, just to make sure that we keep on this, it's always better to keep the bangs a little bit longer when you're cutting them. This way you have a little room to work with and again this is on a mannequin head, it's not human, so obviously everything might be a little bit different and how it lays so we're gon na keep them a little bit longer in through here and what We'Re gon na do is lock it in with the fine teeth like so and then cut straight across using the comb as your guide. And then you can come in on the corner here and even anything out if you have to, but it's okay to get it in one swipe, alright good! Now we've got pretty even section here, and it kind of looks like her already very see so now that we've got that done. Her bangs were a little kind of shattered and they were a little bit layered. So what I want to do is create some texture in her layers and the best way that I go about doing. That is by actually raising the hair up and creating some layers and how we're gon na do. That is lift it straight up from the head and all this is gon na fall out. This is the weight here and then we're gon na actually just cut this straight across on top here and that's just gon na soften up the whole fringe area. So it's not so so heavy so you're gon na see some hair fall out, which is gon na, be the length here in the front which we don't want to cut. We just want to remove some excess weight and you want to bring everything kind of towards the center just over trekt it a little bit, and that is going to be your best solution for creating some softness and some movement throughout the bangs. Here and now, when we go on the other side, what I'm doing is I'm simply just pushing this now towards the center I'm pushing when you're on this side. You want to pull towards you, and this is why what you want to push away from you. That'S why you're not cutting too much hair and then the last piece in the corner here just going to over direct this right to the center straight up and again remove the way it not too much. Hair is gon na come off, but what that's gon na do is it's gon na just create a softer wispier bang here, as you can see, believe it or not. It looks like this is almost done. Okay, but I want to add a little bit more texture to these to the fringe area right here. Alright, so I've got the hair locked in like this, and now I just want to come in and just chip into the very bottom of it just to soften it a little bit and I'm simply just point cutting - and this is just gon na break up - that Harsh line right down the middle here now, what I want to do is blow drys and then go back in and soften this up, even more okay. So now we've got. This looks gorgeous right now. What we're gon na do is just soften this up a little bit and the way I love doing it that most is taking the thinning shear here now we're gon na do is just gon na pick up piece right here like this and towards the end, we're Going to just snip into it and just remove some of that excess weight all right just towards the the the ends we don't want to remove too much weight from the top, but just want to soften up this. So it has kind of like that, almost like a little bit of a peekaboo, you can see through the bangs a little bit if you want to wear it a little more on the wispy side, all right and the best way to do that is the use Of thinning shear like this okay, it just removes a little bit of weight. All right, you still got that solid look, but if you wanted to kind of brush them aside a little bit see how that just kind of softens it it softens it up a little bit. You can even do it manually just come in like this, and just remove some of that weight. All right and that's gon na give you that kind of PC look towards the bottom again. Just do it right towards the edge. That'S the safest way, all right and that's going to give you that that PC fringe here, where you can just kind of soften it up a little bit and brush it over now. I think it looks pretty close to Taylor Swift's fringe here, her bangs, whoever you want to call it, and this is kind of like how she almost wore her hair at the ma AMAs, which is a which is pretty interesting. But this is pretty much it. How you, how you achieve the Taylor, Swift, bang, so hope you guys enjoyed it and thanks so much for watching guys, don't forget to subscribe to my channel. Michelle Renee: I just want to tell you, as a cosmetology student it sometimes is hard to understand why to do a certain technique over another to reach the same goal with a haircut/style and watching your videos helps a lot.  I enjoy the celebrity haircut tutorials as they are cuts that are current and popular and haircuts my guests will recognize and request.  And mostly, I just want to say thank you for posting your videos, they inspire me to want to practice these techniques and I feel like I learn something new with every video I watch.  Thank you!!!!

jungefrau: your videos are so great!  Have you thought of doing a video for older women whose hair isn't as thick as it used to be?  I've always had bangs but they're thinner now than when I was in my 30s.  Is there a way to make them appear thicker?
