hello everyone!! i hope you are all doing well and are safe at home today's video is a tutorial on how to trim or cut your bangs at home in only 5 minutes. whether just trimming or cutting bangs for the first time, i share some helpful tips to cover all of that. i've been cutting my bangs at home for like 10 years and it's super easy and doesn't need a lot of skill, just a bit of confidence and practice! i hope this answers your frequently asked questions about having and maintaining bangs by yourself.

I felt like this was a better occasion than any to share with you guys how I trim my hair at home. I'Ve been cutting my bangs at home for like 10 years. I don't even remember the last time I let a professional touch, my bangs, because I'm so particular with how I like them to look so I'm just going to really quickly share with you guys how I cut and trim my bangs at home, so my bangs have Grown out quite a lot and they're really starting to obstruct my vision. I try to trim my bangs at least once every two weeks, because my hair grows really quickly so using a rat tail comb. The first step is to make sure that my middle part is straight down the center and then from here on, since I already have my front bangs cut. I don't need to do this, but for those of you guys who are trying to cut bangs for the first time, this is how you would do it at home. So using the rat tail comb, you want to create sort of a triangle, starting at the point of your head to the sides of your face and the thinner your triangle, the thinner, your bangs are going to be the wispier they're going to be, and I'm just Gon na pause right here to share with you guys how big my triangle is. My triangle is actually thinner than it used to be in the past, because I've gravitated towards thinner bangs. So you can see how my bangs are kind of wispy and you can definitely see my eyebrows through my bangs, whereas before I used to have a wider triangle - and I had really thick blunt bangs and I grew them out starting last year. So you can see the sides of my hair that are shorter than everything else. These are actually the bangs that I separated early on and I allowed those to grow out. Then going back to my comb, I'm going to wet it and I'm going to brush my bangs about two to three times with a bit of water to just dampen my bangs and I like using this method because it sort of coats the strands of my hair. So I find that this is just the easiest method to get my hair look very, even and very straight, I'm sort of using a Whateley motion, especially up at the root of my hair, because I want my hair to be completely flat so that when I actually Do cut my bangs it's going to be even when it dries, and this is a little tip since sometimes I forget to cut my bangs before I put on all of my makeup and foundation, and then my hair gets stuck in my foundation afterwards, if you facemasks Just put that on to protect your foundation from all of the hair, my friends at level, one studio launched their clothing brand recently, and these are some of the masks that I bought from them. I'M just using some regular hair scissors and it's starting from one side. You kind of want to hold the scissors parallel and kind of flush against your skin. If you can see this, the middle of the blade is actually resting against my head. This is so that I have a little bit more stability in my hand as I'm cutting, but don't rest the tip of the blade against your skin, because you could cut yourself, keep it upwards and point it away. Then using my wet comb again, I'm combing through my hair once again to see any of the longer strands that I've missed and then I'll go back in with my scissors, with the same method and I'll just cut through my things again in a straight line and I'Ll repeat this for about three to four times, to make sure that my things are really even and that I didn't miss any hairs after that. I just come to my bangs until they were dry, which didn't take too long since they're very thin already, and that is how I cut and trim my bangs at home. I hope this was helpful. I'Ve gotten a few questions over the years about how I am able to cut my bangs at home. I started to do it myself at home because I didn't want to go to a professional to just get my bangs cut all the time. So it's really easy to do it yourself. I have wavy hair and a stubborn cowlick so I went slowly, using my comb over and over and pulled my hair down so as not to cut in midair and lose the strands. I straightened them first with a mini flat iron, opted out of using the water trick because it would just make my hair start curling, and voila!! Took no less than 5 minutes. My hair grows SO fast and the stylists I've been to absolutely refuse to cut them above my eyelashes because they suck lol. yookie: I recommend for people who like to give bangs more volume (like using a straightener or roller) to cut the bangs right in the middle of the eyes for longer bangs, and the middle area between the top of the eyes and eyebrows for bangs that sit right at the eyebrows. If you use a roller with bangs that are cut right at the eyebrows, you will get too short of a bang unless it’s the look you’re going for
