Hi everyone I just got back in from a run, so I know I'm looking at really gross right now. My hair is just in no style. I seriously just got back. My face is probably still sweaty and when I was running I was kind of just in this weird mood. I was like thinking about everything and stuff and I was like you know what I just really want to change my hair. So I'm going to cut banks because I've actually wanted to do this for a while I've actually had bangs before and then I grew them out because they are kind of high maintenance on me. So right now I just have some layers here and I don't know I. The rest of my hair is like all one length now like. I had layers all through my hair out before and it just. It doesn't look good if you have fine hair like I do, and then this part it's just I don't know it just doesn't look good. So you know what life's short, don't waste your time, worrying about your hair in the sense that you know it's going to grow back. I think I'm just going to first of all grab kind of the layers that are already in there and then see if it's enough, but it's better to cut less first and then you know, if you think it's not enough, you can always go back and cut Some more all right, so I've sectioned out all the layers that are shorter and I'm going to cut this first and then see. If I need more and see this is just a screw-up by my hairdresser. I guess because this is this is all longer here and then there's like one piece here, that's shorter, so let's just hate going the hairdresser seriously. I'Ve tried out so many different hairdressers here and it's they all suck. So what I'm gon na do first, is I'm going to straighten my hair here just because my hair is not naturally straight. I prefer to cut my bangs when they're dry, rather than when they're wet, and I used to cut my hair with a razor and then last time. I did that. I realized that my hair is so fine that when I actually cut it with a razor it the ends just literally scraggly and also it almost like causes split ends. So I got I just got picked up these haircutting scissors. This would be a lot easier ow. I just kind of Wow: it just cut my finger guess. This is why people go to the hairdresser, but so I'm cutting out like this, because I don't want the end to be completely blunt. So, as I said, they're cutting their way too long right now, but do the other section so I'm just cutting kind of up into the hair like that and also um yeah start off longer. Obviously, this look, Oh ready. Oh, this is interesting. I think I'm gon na have to cut this little strand because it just looks dumb that screw up from the hairdresser thanks a lot man, okay, I need to go way shorter. I can't see think it's totally crooked, but that's why you want to start off always longer start off longer, because otherwise you're gon na run into major problems. If you, you know cut it too short hairdressers, probably saying oh you're doing it all wrong. I don't care even the hairdresser's here. Do it wrong every time I've had my bangs cut here at a hairdresser. It just looked terrible so at least, if I screw it up now, I only have myself to blame. Let'S just take this down for a second there. That looks like obviously my hair is not stout. Oh my god, it looks so different. Okay, I think that's just looking way too thin, so I took out more so that it's kind of like a uniform layer up here, all right, so I just went and washed and stopped my hair. So I just um, I blow dried it over like a Blee, a big round brush here on the front, and then I just took my straightener and just straightened like from here down, because I just want the ends really straight. But I want a little bit of volume up here and you put in a little bit of this product. I think this is new. This is the l'oreal smooth, intense extreme straight cream, so that kind of helps to control frizz. I also put a little bit of the precious oil treatment by L'Oreal is kind of a dupe of the you know like the argan oil treatments that you could buy. I think i'm just going to try to put in a little bit of this is sebastian shine, craft or moldable wax just. It looks like this in the pot. It'S a little bit kind of work that through - and this is this is why i like it cut a little bit unevenly because you can go in with like a wax or a pomade or something - and you can just you know, make it a bit more defined. Can kind of even oh, I could totally do that. I could totally do like a rock star type of hair, but you can just grab little individual pieces of it. You guys were thinking when I was starting cutting that I was crazy, but I have cut my own bangs before, and this is kind of how I like them - and this is like really hard to explain to stylist that this is what you want, because they'll either Always just cut it like this or they'll cut it like this. You know so they're kind of more side-swept. So when I tell it, I want kind of PC bangs they just you, don't know what I mean so I'd, rather just do it myself so really liking. It it's really different, totally changes, your look. You make it kind of do them to sigh. I mean I haven't styled them now to the side, but you could, you know, pull them this way. I think it looks cool. I don't know I like them. I think bangs is one of the easiest, like things to do to your hair that really really changes up your look but you're not really cutting length away from your hair, like my hair still long so you cut see where it goes down or I can just Go back, it's really not that hard to cut your own bangs. I graduated from Beauty school and our class specifically had a lady come in and taught us the latest techniques on fringe trends. in other words if the stylist isn't keeping up his/her education they're not going to know what to do. A hair stylist must keep teaching themselves and sadly some do not!

Franny P.: I actually liked how it turned out on you but when I tried doing this on my own hair it looked so choppy and got a waved effect to the tips of my fringe. I actually liked to get my bangs like this but it personally doesn't work out for me because of the texture of my hair plus its density plus the cowlicks I have on the front. In the end I had to cut my bangs conventionally (by blunt horizontal cut) because first of all we might wanna consider that there's no such thing as "One Style Fits All". If only I don't have cowlicks to worry about this style would've been perfect for me.

Phaerusa: Continual frustration lead me to learn how to cut my (& friends) hair from online tutorials & books. Lovely! Your use of a quasi point cutting technique works well to create the peicy look! I agree- bad stylists are awful! When sharing pics & telling them what you want- it's like they've already got an idea in mind for what THEY want to do. Never be afraid to stop mid-haircut if you notice that a stylist isn't doing what you asked them to! It can be hard to speak up but you'll be glad you did!
