My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Hey guys welcome to a new video. The time has come. I am going to cut my cronut bags into curtain. Bangs, sorry, the rest are awake, so you're, probably gon na, hear some noise in that crap anyways. I'M gon na cut my hair into curtain bangs. Today. I am really excited. I'Ve had bangs for years now, just straight across wispy bags, and I thought it'd be fun to try out curtain banks for a while. Let me took about two months to grow up to here. I think, and by this point I'm pretty happy with the length and I think I can cut a little bit more hair in and make it full curtain bangs. So I looked up some videos of other people doing curtain bangs both professionals and kind of, like you know, DIY or like me, and I think I have a pretty good idea of ways you can do it. So I guess let's just get started straight away. Basically, what I want to do is got some more hair into my bangs, so, as I have been wearing my bangs part in the center, I noticed straight away that it was going to work for my hair if I poured it straight down the center, because, as You can see, I have a little widow's peak here and that just grows straight sideways. It all grows in that direction and it will not part down the center. The hair that I've forced to the side will just come right back and that just won't work. So I have to part my hair next to the widow's peak, which does mean that the maturity of my bangs, which aren't you know that much hair are on this side and there isn't much left on the other side. So I need to even that out a little bit and I also want to kind of incorporate a little bit more hair from the side here to get a little bit smoother sweep. I guess for my bangs. So I do like the triangle shape that I have going on. I don't know if you've seen my other bang cutting video, where I first cut my hair into bangs, I made a little triangle. I think that's a good shape to have bangs in so I'm gon na. Stick to that, but I'm just going to make my triangle a little bit wider. I think. Okay, I don't really want to go past. My eyebrows, I'm gon na incorporate this in with the rest now. The reason why I'm taking such tiny sections is that I don't have a lot of hair in this area to begin with, so I don't want to. You know take too much away and regret it later, so I can always cut him more. If it's not enough, I don't want to start out too enthusiastically at this point. My triangle isn't that triangle shape anymore, it's more of a Halfmoon, but that's fine as long as it's symmetrical and a defined shape, then I can work with so let's cook this hair away - and this is what I'm going to work with. For starters, I think I will see how that looks. The method I found that I think will work best for this is to take all of his hair and comb it in the opposite direction. Then hold it like this, I'm gon na go from the shortest point down. I don't think I really want to trim my hair any shorter over there. Maybe I will cut the center a little bit shorter, just to get a little bit more of that curtain. Bang effects. Okay, I think we have a very nice sweep going on here, and this is the hard side because I have to you know work like that, so I think the other side should should be pretty easy to do. At this point I might come back to this, but let's just do this first see how they match up, like I'm, going to take a little bit of the hair from the other side as well to add into there to make sure that the center matches up And one side doesn't end up significantly longer or shorter than the other one hey sensor seems to match up. So let's get the other side of oh, let's see what we have here, symmetry wise all right. I am much happier with the fullness on this side now, but I do think I maybe want to go a little bit shorter in the center on the side still so that I get a bit more of an angle again because I still feel like this is Too much of you know I'm growing out my bags, but situation going on there and just cut the inside a little bit more. So then I'll have to do the same thing on the other side, get that a little bit shorter go from there. Okay! So, let's see if the length matches up at all on the bottom here, not really okay, so let's fix that, but the rest of my hair, okay, I think they blend in really nicely. I'M gon na have to wait for this bit to grow out a little bit more so that I can incorporate that a little bit more nicely. Maybe take away a little bit of hair from the side here to make it. You know a little bit less pull on this side so that matches up yeah a little bit better, but for now I'm gon na leave it like this and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Let'S see how it looks when I wear my hair pulled back kind of just come in a little bit more on this side, so that the shape matches up a little bit better. Okay, I think this is it for now. I'M gon na live with them for a bit, see how they dry naturally see how they do when I blow dry them see if they actually wear nicely, I feel like they blend into us. Is my hair a little bit more nicely than the just grown-up long bangs, and I am much happier with the fullness of you know the stuff that's framing my face when I pull my hair back now. So here are my curtain bangs. I guess I am quite curious to see how long I will keep this. I will admit that I have already been come to play just cutting my bangs back, because these are very high maintenance. Much more than life's just blood bags were, and I do kind of Miss them. So I probably will go back to my old bangs in a few weeks time, but I just want to you know: try out the curtain banks for a bit - and I do feel like this is a great transitional hairstyle for where you're trying to grow up month. Bangs that are cut across because this will obviously grow out really nicely. You could pretty much just leave it as it is, and it will grow out in that curtain, shape and blend into the length of your hair really nicely. So if you aren't growing out your bangs and you don't want to cut them back in then this is a great way to get through that transitional period. But I think that concludes my video today guys. So I really hope you enjoyed seeing how I got my curtain bangs yeah, it's just a quick little hair update video that I always do for my subscribers. C S: She seems like such a sweet person and honestly that what I'm aspiring to be. ♥️

Hannah Green: This was a curious coincidence. I was just about to look up ways to cut my own bangs in a similar style. You have amazing timing lol. Thanks for the little video :)

Zico Elsamo: I remember back in 2016(?) I watched your video when you cut your bangs first time and decided to cut it, too. I regretted it a lot. It’s 2019, here I am again LMAO✂️✂️✂️

Sancat: The queen of bangs❤️

I D: ohhhhh you were growing them out? you’re literally *the* person I go to for bangs content, since they were always so nice and modern

Kim Davis: I've had full bangs basically my whole life, just changing how I style them, but I'm thinking of growing them out and trying something like this when they get longer :)

Bina Turtle: Perfect timing! I’m cutting my own hair today and still had no idea what to do with my bangs. I cut them with the help of your original bangs video. And now I’m trying to grow them out. Before maybe cutting them again

Ashley Miranda: Thank you!!! I want to do this too, again lol I've had curtain bangs this year and I love it ( ꈍᴗꈍ) It is high maintenance though

Rebecca: My hair is in the perfect position to have curtain bangs, but I'm a little scared to go full curtain....

S Aashna: Last time... I gave comment on one of your video that I cut my bangs and hair inspired by your video tutorial... The only thing that I changed from your tutorial that I cut my bangs not in triangle shaped as I got bangs cut by hair expert some eight months ago... So I took half moon shape instead of triangle... And it resulted in bangs with slight curtain shape... Today my hair expert asked me about my bangs as she thought that its looking beautiful... So I told her your name and the story how I did myself my haircut as per your tutorial... I got compliments from various people for my new hairstyle... And all credit goes to you... Thanks a lot

Adrika: I just cut my own hair into curtain bangs! The timing of this video is impeccable

LCJ-94 /: I’ve decided to grown mine out so this is great inspiration

Imma the chopsticks that Jin always carry: whatever the bangs are,you look pretty in all

Donna Layne: The curtain bang looks beautiful on you. Great job

Krystal Lights: These bangs look really good on you!!

Spidery_Parker: I've been wanting to cut myself curtain bangs. I was going to cut it yesterday but I was busy with school work. Thank you for uploading.

Katie: I think you look really cute with those bangs!! You also look nice with straight across bangs as well.

Luna Redelvour: I have a widow's peak, too. My bangs used to split down the middle naturally, but if I dry or straighten (or both) them together, I find that the part will magically disappear xD I can shake my whole head and the wind can screw them up, but they've been falling pretty well into place afterwards recently which I really can't complain about

Daisy Paisies: I had the same issue with wanting curtain bangs and my windows peak. So I went to the hair salon to see if they could do it... they couldnt not to mention I went to TWO hair salons

Urbo Turbo: Looks so good on you! I want them too, but I have little hair on my forehead and my scalp gets oily really easily. Super annoying to have fine thin hair!

Franny P.: I like her with the see through-ish bangs instead of curtain bangs cuz her widow's peak makes it more complicated for curtain bangs to be worn yet the see through-ish straight across bangs lays more nicely.

SS314: Now you can do all sorts of Bardot hairstyles and have her kinda fringe!

Ifinoe Xanthacos: Wow! your cutting technique is great. You are very patient.

Egg: Was literally in the middle of watching your other bangs video because I've been wanting to cut my bangs again.

Jennheart13: My curtain bangs were way too thick. And this video showed me how to part them, and grow out the rest. Thank you!

Sunflower Days: I have a baby widows peak that’s slightly cricked, it like a centimeter or 2 off centered. I really been wanting to cut my bangs into wispy curtain bangs because of how versatile they are, I could wear them straight if I keep the middle a bit short, I could wear them to the side, etc. Thank you soo much for the video! I hope you are well and best wishes! ✨

Louise 0474: Bring back your bangs. You always look so polished with bangs and with your glasses it’s you signature look xx

SoGorgeous 2: They look very uneven. Spring or no spring. I know the goal of the video is to show everyone that you can cut your own hair at home. I won’t other than minimal bang trimming and my hair is long and stylish. You have a lovely face and your hair is very versatile so you can wear it in a lot of different styles as I have seen from your other videos.

Crowned Lily: How you pulled the section of hair to the other side to get the angle is similar to how I normally cut myself side bangs.

noname: I used to cut my own hair since I was a kid. It's addictive

Mónica Gonçalves: Curtain bangs look so good on you

Heavenly AG: Love it!!!❤️

Rachel Stirling: Yes! Bring back the bangs!

MagicalGirl: Oh, great, now I want curtain bangs!

dodidodo: i was literally thinking of cutting my bangs like that earlier

Josh: You look super cute with them bangs!

Amy Slingsby: I have that exact mini widow’s peak and that’s one reason I have straight bangs. That and bangs are cheaper than botox...

Valerie Bartz: "sorry my rats are awake".... Lol

rosetta grey: I think no bangs/curtain bangs frame your face much better than your blunt ones but you do you x

Kate Lillo: I have the same issue with sideways growing widows peak I have side sweeping bangs to camouflage how whacky my hairline looks lol

kanika goel: Hi, Lucy. I have a question for you, I'm having a server hairfall right now so much so that my scalp is showing through my hair, my parting is getting wider and all those ugly things are happening with my hair, I'm aware that you had a pretty bad hairfall too but your hair still looks very full on the scalp (Touchwood), can you please tell how?

Meg Converse: Off topic here, but have you ever tried flaxseed gel on your hair?

Buffy: I have a widow's peak too, it is extremely difficult to pull off any type of bangs ,

BelleRedhead: Where did you buy your scissors? (Dutchie here :))

Sailor Arwen: I don’t know why but having bangs helps control my wispies. I know it’s time to cut my bangs because my wisps will start to look like horns again I know wispies are called “baby hairs” and I was always hopeful The baby hairs would grow out and they wouldn’t be a problem, but oh no, they’re here to stay.

Nonalola: I have that tiny widows peak too. It's so annoying lol. If I part directly down the center of it, my hair looks so thin, you can see my scalp, so I have to part at an angle like you do.

Nicole Elizabeth: I have a baby widows peak too!! I just part my hair to the side.

Ladynipchick2: Cute, but left side is a little longer. But that will iron out over next few weeks. I'm going for curtain bangs myself: I'm nowhere near your length, lol. !

DB: Interested in why they are more high maintenance than the straight across bangs?

Pirate lassy: Guess what! My baby hair is growing and it's all ower my forhead. But i fixed it! I sectioned my hair on the side and then pined it behind my ear. Now the hair that I put behind my ear is arranged to reach my eyebrow. I think that's a great resolvation!

Paula R: Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Philosophical Apricot: I’ve always wanted to cut bangs, but I’m scared it won’t suit me!

starmelody Elizabeth B: Will Esmeralda be the next Beauty Beacon?

pea: i havent cut my bangs since 2013 and now theyre all grown out to the same length as the rest of my hair... been itching to get curtain bangs and now i think i will!!

Juvenile Dilettante: This is so practical! I don't have bangs but some of my friends do, and it's so overpriced to go to the hair dresser to get them cut. Thank you Lucy

jamba jackson: Were did u get those hair clips i been looking all over. For hair clips like those i like to wear my hair half up half down tucked perfectly behind both ears. I also like it down with middle part behind both ears. Do u like those styles.

MissFreakinLOL: i thought your wispy straight bangs with side frame looked curtain bangs kinda style :D

Stephanie Morey: Good job!

Rose Cooper: I cut mine but left them to long so tomorrow I’m gonna cut them shorter I’m so scared cause what if I hate them

HeyIt'sKate: I accidentally cut curtain bangs. Just don’t ask. I didn’t even want any kind of bangs

S. ANITA GRACE: You are amazing❤❤

Xintong Bian: i think curtain bangs suit people with shaper jaws

Danae Goliath: You’re cute enough that nothing looks awful on you, but I think you might should get these fixed at a salon. They have the illusion of being quite uneven in thickness and length at least from this video.

Random Wodaem: I just got bangs and idk if I love them or hate them lol.....

ES: The thing with your hair us called a cowlick

Malakina1964: You are smart and lovely.

Kunjal Sahu: i think one side u cut more then other side

NorCalHappy: Grow them out hotsabi don't like bangs thanks loopsie

7Nine7: til i have a widows peak

Himani Rana: You look like Joe keery sibling

Ashnee Leckna Beeharry: Its not that much even!

vrindabk bk: U are so cute

Zosia: i feel a bad decision coming...

zeus10331: you look Bobby Eaks

The Entitled One: Fringe*

—hanako chan: Second!

Bug: Fringe

Branmuffin: Professional hairdresser here, have to applaud you for trying it by yourself, but also slightly cringing at the asymmetry of the angle amd length of each side. Easy fix though! If you go into a salon, most fringe trims only cost 10-15 bucks and take only a couple minutes

SRL: Crooked
