How To Cut Bangs Into Your Wig (Official Godiva'S Secret Wigs Video)

THIS VIDEO IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY.

Although most of our wigs are ready to wear right out of the box, a few may require a slight bang trim. This video will show you how to trim the bangs yourself. However, if you aren't comfortable doing them yourself, please bring your wig to a hair stylist.

Hi, I'm Danielle with Godiva secret wigs and today I'm going to shoot the video you've all been waiting for how to trim the bangs on your wig. So the first thing you want to decide is how you want to wear your wig. So if you get a wig and the bangs are a little long, but you want to brush them to the side. That'S fine! You don't need to cut them, but if maybe the bangs you like to run like this and they're in your eyes, you need to cut them. So the first thing you want to do when you are ready to cut your bangs you decide to do it yourself is make sure the wig is on straights and it's positioned correctly. So there's two places you want to check. First, there's two little harder tabs on the sides. You want to make sure those are even that's how you know the wig is on straight and not crooked. The second thing you want to make sure is that the hairline, this part of the wig, is right at your hairline just right there. If it's comes forward too much, then you're going to cut the bangs too short and if it's back too far, you're not going to cut enough so once you're on totally straight and you're ready to go, let's go to the mirror and show you how to do It so here I am, and so the first thing you want to do you always want to cut way less than you think you need. So the first thing I'm going to do is figure out what how much I want to cut. So, even though I think I want a little thicker bang, I'm going to start way thinner than I think, because wig hair does not grow back. So I have a pretty thin little bang here and I'm just going to pull it down and see. So I'm just going to work with this thing and you, where I'm going to cut, is kind of from the middle of the eyebrow to the middle of the eyebrow. So I'm going to grab that hair just right in the middle I'm going to take my little wire brush just brush it out to make sure it's smooth and then I'm holding it, I'm right-handed, so I'm holding it between my index and middle finger. On my left hand, I'm going to grab my scissors and then I'm just looking up at the pieces, these little ones here and I'm just cutting at a 45-degree angle all the way across. So I'm not cutting straight across and you'll. Be really blunt, I'm just cutting a 45-degree, so I just cut a little bit, and so I wasn't sure how long they're going to be because when you're pulling them down, they look longer when you let go they spring up. So, even though they look like they're going to be way too long, they're only like a little bit too long now, so I'm going to regrab that same hair, because I think I want it a little bit shorter kind of right at the eyebrow. Again, I'm going to brush it grab my scissors, I'm doing the same thing a little 45 degree, and if you want a little more, you can just go up, but I'm really controlling it. With this left hand, pouf let go. I think I like that. So if you can see it's just right in my eyebrow and you know your preference, if you like longer bangs, make them longer if you want a little shorter bangs, take that next step, but do it in steps? Don'T do it, don't try to do one cut and have it be perfect, take ten cuts and then I'd be perfect. So if these were not rolled exactly how I wanted them, I would use my Pothier brush, which we sell on our website and in our stores and just turn it on and roll up. This is the only heats we recommend using on Godiva secret, wigs, it's our hot airbrush, so I'm going to turn it on grabbing the hair and I'm just rolling it kind of using my fingers to press the hair onto the breasts. Just see how beautiful that quick! Little role it just gave it see how how uniform it is. Now, it's not all crazy, so that just gives a nice rule. You can use that at the bottom of your wig. You can use it up here on your bangs, wherever you want now. If I decided I wanted a thicker bang, I would do the same thing. I would just grab a little bit more in my eyes, so I have a little more I'm just going to take all of that hair together, it's going to make me cry and I'm going to do the same thing, and just I can see where these are. The little Center hairs, the ones I haven't cut yet so I'm just going to match up to those hairs I did cut now. I just have a little bit: thicker bang. So that is the basics for how to cut your bangs on your wig. I hope that really helped you and let us know if there's any other videos you want us to make, because we're always happy to help have a great day. Bye.

DaydreaminArtbyDeb: I'm sooo glad this video came across my YouTube feed! I tried cutting the bangs on one of my wigs (after calling around to several salons who refuse to touch them) and they came out too blunt. If I position it more forward on my head and use this technique I think I can salvage it! Thank you sooo much!
