Cutting My Own Bangs!

Hi guys so i've thought long and hard about this and drum roll, please i am cutting bangs today. I am out at a hotel review at the moment, i'm at the beautiful cinnamon banquet, and i thought you know what i was so bored with my look and i thought why not cut bangs. This has been on my mind for a long time and i did have bangs before i had it two years ago and i had bangs before that as well, because i have quite a big forehead. I don't know if you guys can see. I have quite a big forehead for 30 of my face, so bangs are always a good idea if you do have a large forehead going on uh, but i also didn't want to cut bangs just with the humidity, because it's a lot of maintenance just to have Banks, especially in a country like sri lanka, so after i got the keratin treatment, my hair has been more relaxed. This is my hair. After about the fifth or sixth wash i've lost track and, as you can see, it's settled now at the moment, so having bangs. Wouldn'T be such a bad idea. Another reason i'm making this video is when i had bangs a lot of you guys asked me what salon i went to what style was. The banks was the specific name for these banks, because you guys wanted to get something similar as well always cut banks for myself. I pray to god. I don't mess it up in this video. I'Ve always cut my own bangs, because i never had faith in a salon because i used to always be anxious if they were gon na cut it too short, so i just feel safer to be fully in control of my bangs and when i cut them, unlike Some of those videos i've been seeing online. Another reason why i've been having second thoughts of people messing up their bangs, but i'm definitely gon na give it a go and i'm gon na cut it and show you guys how i've been doing it all these years. It'S sometimes like cutting your hair. Too short, you want your long hair back and sometimes when you cut your bangs, you really want to go back and there's no going back once you cut your bangs, obviously so make sure you do it patiently carefully and if you're not confident, definitely go to a Professional because, if you're going to cut your bangs, you have to have some confidence in yourself and a pair of scissors are using. So what you will need is obviously a brush or a comb of some kind and a pair of scissors and hair. And i would recommend you use a proper scissor that is ideal to cut hair and not one of these, but since this was definitely a spontaneous idea. This is all that i have on hand with me so we'll have to work with what we have and also make sure you have one of these clips clip your hair back just so you don't go cutting any other parts of your hair that you don't want To cut so, my friend sent me this meme the other day, and it said if you made a tick tock. If you cut bangs, if you got pregnant, you failed at quarantine. I don't agree with that and i was definitely contemplating on cutting banks during quarantine, especially because we were at home with nothing to do, and i know so. Many people cut it at that time, but i am definitely all in for it just because my hair is more manageable at the moment and i don't have to style it all the time. So, let's get into cutting the bangs, i'm so sorry that intro was so long okay. So the first thing you want to do is section your hair and you want to have a rough estimate about how thick you want your bangs. Now i would advise you if you live in a tropical country like we do like in sri lanka. I definitely go for lighter bangs, because with the humidity it might not always work to have thick bangs on top of your face. So what i like to do is i like to section my hair, i'm going to be looking at the camera and if i'm looking sideways, it's because there's a mirror uh. I like to section my hair in a triangle form i feel like that's the most flattering on me and guys. Let'S take the obvious, i'm not a professional hairstylist here, but this is how i cut my bags. The first thing is to section your hair: i'm going to look in this direction, just because there's a mirror here and i don't want to mess this up uh. So i like to section my hair in a triangle form, but you can do whatever suits you can even do circular or whatever that you like, so i'm just gon na go from here. Oh god, i am, i'm i'm praying to god on the inside that i don't mess this up. So as you guys can see. Oh my god, i look like the grudge. As you guys can see, mine is in a triangle shape, and i'm just gon na work with this. For the moment i kind of feel like this is still a bit too thick. We can always add hair. So remember that start with a little and then work your way to the top. So i think i'm gon na work with this much of hair. It'S still pretty thick to me. I might just reduce it once i have the section i bring it up to about my nose level and i always prefer to cut my hair when it's dry, because you know with here it increases your hair's elasticity. So so it's definitely going to make your hair longer, especially if you have baby hair, i always prefer to yeah dry my hair and cut my bangs. So that way i have a better idea of what i'm gon na end with. So i bring the hair just below my nose. Uh, remember guys, don't pull on your hair and my camera died and we are back so always make sure you cut your bangs longer, because you see a lot of youtube videos where people cut their bangs up here and then it springs up and that's just a Disaster make sure you cut your hair off at your chin or the tip of your nose and then work your way to the top, because once it's gone, you can't go back so take your time with it. While i'm, while i'm trying to cut this off, i'm contemplating, if i really need bangs well, there's no going back now, so let me spread it across my face to see how i like it. No choice got ta like it kind of like it. Definitely guys don't do what i'm doing use a better use. A better scissor use a better brush as well. Then you want to hold your scissors vertically and you want to cut upwards like this. Make sure you don't cut your face. Be careful cut upwards like this? Slowly, this is why i said if you have a pair of scissors that is meant for cutting hair. This would be really helpful at this moment. Okay, i think i'm gon na go just a bit shorter, so this is how i'm cutting you can see little bits and pieces kind of are falling out. This is how i've always cut my bangs, nothing special, nothing extra! You can definitely add pieces around the sides of your face to frame your face. I usually don't do that because i have quite a long face and sometimes that elongates my face, so i don't like doing that. Definitely have your bangs up to any length you want. It so i'm gon na cut it just below my eyebrows and make sure you just press them out as you go and we're done just kidding. I always get paranoid when it comes to the length that i want it to and and this is going to settle down if you do have a middle part, the bangs are just going to fall into place later. So just don't worry about that. So once you have it to a length that you like, you can definitely go and rough out the edges, i don't want to do it with this scissor, so i think i'm going to wait until i go home, so this is the length that i've always had Use a serum if you want and just style it i have bangs, it feels so weird. It feels like uh me from two years ago. Sorry, i'm just looking at the camera. That'S how i've always cut my bangs. Definitely i'm gon na give you guys an update on my instagram once i just refined the edges, because i definitely don't wan na risk it with this guy, usually after shower two, your bangs do fall into place. So don't worry about that, and these are tips that have helped me after i cut bangs, especially if you have dry hair, use a serum or use a tiny bit of baby oil just apply it on the ends of your bangs. If you have oily skin and are worried about the moisture on your face, messing up your bangs with the humidity and whatnot apply translucent powder on your forehead uh. Once you do your makeup. That way, the powder is going to stop the oil from transferring to your back. So this is basically how i cut my bangs. I hope this video was helpful to anyone who wanted to know and the reason i thought to make this video is because so many of you guys asked me how i do it there's nothing much to it. Basically, it looks a lot lighter on camera than it does in person, but i can't wait to go home and grab the correct pair of scissors and just tile the ends up a little bit because right now, it's just blunt i'll, definitely insert a picture here. How it looks after i did it. It also looks really nice when you have your hair tied up. If you have a big forehead like me, you can pull some pieces out and style it, but that's a whole other video. If any of you cut your bangs after watching this video definitely tag me in your pictures. I would love to see them. I hope you guys like this video - and i hope you guys have a great week ahead and i'll talk to you guys next wednesday, bye
