On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Hey guys welcome to a new video, so there are quite a few women cutting their own bands at the moment. Yes, I see you and it doesn't always go the way we had hoped. Let'S say you cut your own bands and they turned out a little bit. Thicker than you wanted them to it's, not quite what you'd hoped for. I have some good news and I have some bad news. The bad news is once you cut off too much hair. There is no quick fix for that. The good news is, however, it can be fixed. It'S just gon na take a little bit of time and patience. Today, I'm going to show you how you can gradually make your bangs a little bit thinner, wispier and more, like the korean bangs, see through banks, whatever you want to call them and less like just blunts across thanks. I have been getting my own bangs for several years now and over the years they have slowly got some thicker and thicker, just because sometimes I carelessly throw in a few extra hairs and it just builds up over the years. You know a while ago. I actually decided that I want to thin out my bangs again. I make them more see-through and wispy again. Let me just tie back my hair here, because we don't want that in the way. Here are my bangs. As you can see, I cut my bangs in a triangle: triangle: half circle: it's somewhere between a half circle and a triangle, and this is the thickness that they had gotten, which is much thicker than what I wanted and when I wear them like this, I'm sure You can already kind of tell what I'm going to just hear, because pretty much the only way to make banks that are too thick a little bit thinner is to grow out the top layer. So you can see. I have been doing this for a few weeks and it's very clear what my like top and bottom layers are, which is great so then I can actually show you the concept, so the top layer of my bangs, all the excess hair, I would say, has now Grown out to here and the banks I want to keep are still at the length that I like they are a little bit too long, so I'm gon na trim them today show you how I do that as well. So here's how I chose what hair to grow out and what hard to keep cutting the way you get to this stage is by cutting your back selectively from now on. So next time you trim your bangs you're not going to trim all of it, but only a little bit and the way I like to do this or the way I have done this is. I have made a smaller triangle inside my large triangle, so let me see if I can just reveal it so here you can see it. This is the amount of things that I want to keep. This is what I'm still trimming, and this is kind of my desired end result, and all of this is excess. Bang, hair that I am waiting to curl out. So the way that I make this bearable - because obviously I don't want that growing off of my hair - is I wear it to the side and it kind of automatically becomes this kind of swoopy side. Bang as it were, it kind of transforms itself into a form of curtain, bangs and just an extension of the center of your bangs, even though the hair is actually supposed to go straight down like that, so it's actually quite comfortable easy to wear that top layer. That'S growing out, if you just take the top of your bangs and kind of separate them like that. The shorter hair in the center will pop back into the center and the longer hair will kind of catch on to the rest and just be swept to the side. So I haven't even had to use any bobby pins or braids or anything to hide that back. Hair, not obviously my bangs are a little bit longer now, but they did this from the beginning. Of course, they will come back throughout the day, but again it's just really easy to just do that and sweep into the side again. Of course, this will take several months, so you completely grow. So let me show you how you can trim your bangs from now on if you do want to grow out that top layer. So I'm gon na look up my smaller triangle again and if this is your first time doing it and you want to just create a new smaller triangle, just gon na pin that to the side. So when you've done that, when you've pinned away the excess hair, you should get a bit of a better view of what your bangs will look like when you have grown out the excess. Now, if you've seen my other cutting your own bangs videos, and you will know that I usually like to cut my bangs by holding them down like this and then cutting into them with my scissors like that now, since I have been growing out that top layer, I like to do it a little bit differently I like to take my bags and twist them and then trim them like this, and what that does is it will create a little bit of a u-shape which will make it a little bit easier to blend in These outer parts, because it won't be such a harsh contrast between the shorter banks and the longer bangs. So I just so. We stayed like that and then I slowly start to cut into this again with my scissors pointing up - and I just go a little bit at a time check how it looks be sure I don't cut my bangs to sharpest. That'S another problem: that's very time-consuming to fix. Okay. This is a good length for me. I think, and you can see it does blend in rather nicely and of course, the longer you keep this up the easier. It will be to separate your to keep bangs from your two around bands, but benefit. That is how you can fix banks that have been cut too thick. It'S gon na take a few weeks a few months to grow out the second layer of bangs, but you can see your new result fairly quickly. After just three four weeks, I'd say, depending on how quickly your hair grows, but as soon as you are able to separate it from the top like that and have the top layer be a little bit longer than you were shorter layer, you should be able to Wear your new and improved with Peter bangs, so I really hope you found this helpful guys. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial best of luck if you are doing your own hair at the moment. I know it can be a little bit tricky, but it's definitely doable so if you did enjoy this video - and I forget - to give a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for loads, more beauty and lifestyle content. Maria Thalian: Who belongs to the "guilty of the quarantine bangs"-club ?

SJ Camilleri: Loepsie: "I see you" Me hiding my destroyed bangs: ಥ‿ಥ

Roelanda Hartman: When you just got back from the hairdresser and realize they cut them too thick.. thankyou for the tip.

ally: glad i’m not the only one who’s bangs just gradually get thicker

fictionalhuman: I haven’t had bangs since I was 11 years old. They look awful with my naturally curly hair, especially in my local Texas heat and humidity. That didn’t stop me from enjoying this explanation. I may need it in the future for my daughter! You look lovely as always, by the way.

70s HONEY: I don't have bangs but I'm still interested in how this could be fixed

Jade Keller: I was already growing out my quarantine bangs in the hopes of being able to put them behind my ears, so they were grown out as much as yours are in the video, and this technique worked P E R F E C T L Y!! I love my new bangs. Thank you so much! This is actually a better look than i've ever gotten at the salon!

Uru: I really love bangs but whenever I got them at a Hairdresser they would always cut them bluntly, no matter how much I explained I wanted them to be thin. I grew out my bangs, been cutting my hair at home for a long time and now I just swoop my hair back and only take care of the ends, but I might try to do bangs by myself. Great explanation!

Anne Shirley: I'm growing out my bangs right now because they're way too thick. I thought the only way to fix them was to grow them all out and start over, but I just might try this! Thanks so much!

Gissela La . Al: I did my bangs due to the quarentine, and I used your tutorial and I couln´t be happier, love the way it looks. Thank you so much, and stay safe

V P: You eyeliner is really flattering! You look like Evelyn from The Mummy after they visit the Bedouin camp. Any chance for a makeup tutorial of your look? :)

Hannah Poulter: Girl I was literally just this morning hoping you would do something like this !! I can feel a blunt bangs coming on which I really dont like on myself, thank you thank you thank you !!!!!!

Maria Kalle: Im trying to make mine thinner as well. I did the same thing as you and it's working pretty well

Megan Lee: I've had pretty thick blunt bangs for around 5 years now and I'm considering doing this. I've been growing my hair out longer and want to add more shaggy layers to it to give it more volume and I just feel like a bit thinner bangs would look better with that style. Hopefully I can do it right lol, this tutorial was great so fingers crossed

Kara: This looks fantastic on you just the way it is right now :) I totally needed this video in order to fix my bangs, thanks!

Isabelle: I got my Hair cut before the quarantine. Told the hairdresser I didn’t want them too think with too much hair in it because I had that last time and didn’t like it. So naturally he cut a chunk from like over the middle of my head... lol at least no one can see me now while I grow it out

Carla Concé: I did this a year ago and completely undid all my hard work during the quarantine because of boredom hahaha. Going to be starting this out again — thanks for the guidance!

MyLoVeLyMaN: You look awesome with these waves! And this makeup is soo classy, would love to see a tutorial!

Rebecca Hurford: The second I was allowed to grow out my bangs/fringe at age 8 I did and would never ever go back, but man I find your hair cutting videos fascinating! I hate the idea of having bangs so much I caught myself brushing my non-existent fringe up off my forehead while watching! So pretty on our lovely Loepsie though :)

JJJLongHair4u2c: I did this method in 2004/2005 when I couldn't stand losing all of my bangs by growing them all out. Good tutorial ❤️ I eventually did grow them all out though. It was awful! They are now to ankles lol.

IWantMyOperaHouse: Thank you! I have been trying to fix my bangs by just growing left-right extremities and cut in the middle, but that made my face look like an egg so I always ended up cutting it all again. I see now that I wasn’t keeping the triangle in mind! Thanks very much!!!

Roberta Mebs: Thanks for such a great video! I'm off to thin my bangs now, and am sure it'll turn out great, thanks to you !!!

Ananya Basak: I recently cut my bangs after watching your videos. I was nervous about it but it came out good and I love it! ♥️♥️♥️

Woodland Wilds: Your hair looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing these tips - going to try them today.

K. R.: Love this, this is actually how I cut style my bangs intentionally!

Kirstie Owlerythrift: I just cut mine following your video and I love them!!! Thank you so much

Chezamoonangel AiEmma: I did the same. I always cut my bangs myself since I was 12 back in 1999, yes a lot mg time. But at times I have fuller bangs or thinner bangs. Now I want to thin my bangs. It is the same length but I will let them grow out. My hair grows fast due to hair vitamins, msm powder and vitamin c power, and collagen powder. I love bangs but I want them thinner now. I have black cruly/wavy ethnic hair. I do blow dry and flat iron my bangs bit the rest of my hair is natural. These tips are good. Love your videos I was wondering if that other company using your image and bangs even contacted you or even apologize to use for basically stealing your idea? Hopefully things worked out hon.

Patty Sway: THIS IS LIFE CHANGING. Thank you, you fixed my month :)

c. seaa: Thank you so much for this!! I cut my own bangs in quarantine for the first time ever a few months ago and I LOVED it.. then I went to the hairdresser and she added more bang and cut them far too thick! >.< I'm going to start this process with my next trim!

Zuzanna Kaniuga: 100% would recommend! It's been some time now and I can easily tuck the longer pieces behind my ears - looks like no mistake had ever been made...

Christina Marie: I love the idea of bangs but I feel like I’m too lazy to style them every morning Does anyone else feel this way?!

dana ward: You seriously look so stunning, your makeup and hair compliments you so well! Even down to the lighting of the video haha! And great advice for my future self who will inevitably cut her own bangs

ahmadeevasu: I just love your eye makeup! And the video is super on point, I've been thinking about fixing my bangs for weeks.

Nalimo LiYa: God I remember doing this method and when to the salon for a cut telling the hairdresser to NOT TOUCH MY BANGS and she just cut them, months of efforts.... gone

TFIK: This video was extremely helpful, thank you very much!

HandiAndi: My hairdresser pointed out that I should stop cutting my bangs because I had pushed my peak way far back, and now it’s all I can think about. Thanks sm.

Tsukisoul: Great video :D I have my bangs since six years and over the time they grow alot thicker during cutting than I would like to xD So, thank you for your help ^^

Quixotic42: I have a rather strong widow's peak and my bangs always end up looking too thick in the center or the bangs just stick in with my longer hair. Has anyone sorted this out? I know some people shave their widow's peak, but then you still get the funny stubble interfering with your hair style.

Derrick Jennifer Watkins: Your hair looks beautiful! Bangs suit you so well. Lovely job!

MJ Ortile: What she said was true, " ... it doesn't always go the way we had hoped ". My bangs are too thick so I watched this. Thx for this video!

Peepsqueek: Loepsie, solving the questions I didn't even know other people were asking...thank you so much for this tutorial!

Kokohore Boketsu-chan: I finally fixed my bangs by putting most of the hair in the sides

hannah: Wow I actually started trying this method months ago all on my own ! Wish I had seen this video then cuz I woulda made sure to thin them out even more. the unwanted bangs are currently at my chin... gotta restart the thinning process...

KUAKA MOLE: Omg you saved my life i was actually looking for exactly this video but i thought no one ever did a video like this thank you omg this is such a blessing ❤️❤️❤️❤️

atlababe: I need to do this. But my hair/bangs are curly. Do you think it would still work? The longer pieces wouldn’t just nicely lay flat along the sides. Also, I’ve always cut them straight...but I like the triangle shape. Wonder if that would also work with my hair.

jessica c: Thank you! This is super helpful. I'm just curious- does anyone else finds that making more of a half-moon part rather than a triangle is more flattering on their face? :)

kiwi: ive been cutting my bangs for a year now and i think they look pretty dang good for me not being a professional (ive had bangs most of my life. for some reason they grow Very quickly and i dont have money to go to the salon all the time so i taught myself how to trim them) but i think wispy bangs r really cute so im curious if i can make mine thinner!

luabeth: i literally just finally grew out my bangs after years and years and all i wanna do is cut them again, just not as thick this time aaaa help how do i resist the urge

Cero: Bless you. Been looking for a tutorial like this for way too long! ♥

Lois Deborah: i already had a thin wispy bang before quarantine but i decided to cut some side framing bits and they turned out wayyy too short so no i have thicker bangs. thank you for the tip!

Caitlin Tiulenev: “I see you” ... me sitting here one week after cutting my bangs

Jennifer Grove: Very helpful! Thank you so much! At some point (You probably don't want to do this now.) can you do a tutorial about how to trim the rest of your hair? But, specifically into the V shape? If you don't wear your hair like that, I understand if you don't though. It's just so hard to find that on Youtube! It must not be popular. I just think it looks so much more fuller and flattering from the back if it's in a V shape. I usually always trim my own bangs. (Thanks to your original trim bangs video.) But when it comes to the rest of my hair, I still go to a salon because I don't think I understand well enough to trust myself to do it on my own.

U E: This hairstyle and makeup complements you really well! I wish I had straight hair.. with wave/curly hair it just doesnt work and the constant styling to the bangs is very damaging.

Miss Terious: I'm in this stage rn. Can't wait for the extra hair to grow longer

Rae M: Idk if I’ve ever commented on a YouTube video, but I have to comment on this. I haven’t done this yet because my bangs are cut too short and too thick , but I KNOW this is going to help once they grow out. Thank you so much

Jagroop Kaur: Thank you for making this video

SweetKorn: 0:03 *NOPEZ SIDE BUZZ CUT* I'm here bcz I'm growing out my bangs but I would like to mention that i did a subtle side buzz cut last week and I just love it. I love it. ❤ It's a good style to try in the lockdown. And it is something new that most girls have not tried bcz of course long hair look so gorgeous. But I always wanted to try buzz cuts so if you too have been wondering if you could try a buzz cut. Go for it actually. It's the right time! Start with a subtle buzz cut and then you can go further if you want more.

piX0une: your makeup looks really nice in this video ! it really makes your eyes pop

Ishita Sarkar: I NEEDED THIS THANK YOU!

dd: I haven't had bangs since I was 5 maybe. And now 16 I went to the hairdresser but it wasn't as I expected. First I wanted curtain bangs that are light but it's so different from what I showed him. So I fixed it to short bangs but they're thick lol

Olivia Olejnik: You’re so gorgeous love the video quality and your tips thank u!

Eka Ba: I didn't even cut them on my own. I showed my hairdresser some see through bangs pictures, and now i LITERALLY have bangs like cho chang from Harry Potter. She cut them wayyy to thick and short. Who whole point of see through bangs is that they are very thin and trasparent, but now they're soo thick and cover my whole forehead and if i pull up the top layer, the under layer is too short and ugly. How does a professional fuck up so bad? I did better that this when I was 13 and cut my own bangs! I was so excited abot getting bangs and now it's all ruined...

C Hood: thanks for the tips! i’m trimming my own bangs tomorrow wish me luck :)

E Sierra: This was so helpful; thank u!

Judith App: Your eyes with this makeup!! And the bangs! Really pretty! ☄

Sakshi Rajpoot: I went to a hairstyler i showed her the pic i wanted but she did it good i liked it when my bangs were wet but when they dried they started standing put and then i realised that my down bangs were the bangs i wanted but my uper bangs were too short and now i regret it but when i saw your video my heart is a bit fine Thanks to you❤❤

genie121: My hairdresser does this thing where to picks up my bangs and makes small cuts into it (little snips) all the way up and the bangs sit better. But since lock down here in the U.K. I can’t do it myself.

Nicole Lung: Holy shit I needed this so badly, you're a lifesaver. Thank you so much girl!!

Rhiannon Peay: So helpful! Thank you!

Hannah: This was a life saver thanks so much <333

Josie Drew: This is a really helpful video!

Louise brr: I was crying for hours before this video, im still crying because they end above my eyebrows but yeah never going back to that hairdresser

Lua Bellezze: this is great!! thank you so much

Olive Glenning: This is so unrelated to the video but I just want to let you know I love your energy, you seem so sweet and genuine

Laura Prince: Now you've motivated me to cut bangs into my hair because I think I can fix them if I goof it up

Sarafina C: You look absolutely stunning in this video ❣️❣️

sleepy Eevee: I love my bangs but yeah I cut them a-bit too far back but it’s an easy fix for me (I was going for bettie page bangs anyways so not too bad)

Ginger Sal: Haha I just trimmed them today XD Actually I really like the result , I remembered the vid you posted about cutting them yourself and it turned out just fine.

Brenna: i’ve been cutting my own bangs for about three years and i was wondering how to do this haha

stachelbeere91: I really love how your Bangs Look right now! Suits you so good

Lone She wolf: I got a simple straight hair cut today with bangs... The effed up my bangs... My god... I pressed them, curled them... But still messed up... Thanx for the help...

suyaa: i got bangs today but the person cut them wayy too thick but this video legit saved them tysm i cannot thank you enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Shar Roon: I think the 2 lengths of bangs is very flattering on you even though you are trying to grow it out.

amerryatheist: Hey Loepsie, do you still cut layers into your hair? You said that you stopped doing so, but your hair has a nice wispy look to its ends and looks lovely. How do you cut your hair to achieve this? :D

Alejandra: I made a really bad mistake and I hate my bangs. I had made them too thick so I started cutting the bottom to make it look wispier which was a bad mistake. Now they’re all different lengths. Worst of all, I cut a piece of hair at the top of the triangle. Which I forgot was gonna grow back... so now I have small pieces in the back of my bangs sticking up. I hate it, and there’s no way to fix it

A Thumb: i cant kind of comprehend the precision required here my hair is SO thick, it doesnt even matter where i cut from, there's enough hair to hide mistakes.

ɪɴᴅʜᴜ 𝟽𝟽𝟽 🥀💟: I just saw ur video where u cut ur hair as bangs for the 1st time u was so nervous and it was so professional method and u are doin good girl ❤

Claudia Seltmann: I had bangs several years ago, but had to realize, that I have too curly hair and am too lazy to straighten the bangs every Day.. But i actually liked having bangs.

Kelly Vd We: Dit had ik nodig!!❤️

bitch: so i a month ago i cut an unnecessarily large amount of hair for my bangs :| my hair takes a while to grow and i'm trying to grow out two thick sections of my bangs ;-: for the mean time, i'm following your video. i hope this works bc i really feel like i like this hairstyle on me LOLZ

Charlie: My "fringe" side bangs keep going flat and straight down . I've had them swept to the left side of my face for years. Idk what went wrong. Even if I curl them they won't stay. Any tips?

Aliciaaa: I haven't seen you for a long time. I used to watch you everytime when I was in 6th grade! I lost my old account. Subscribed!

La Gatita: I totally effed up my bangs. Never again. I'll probably have to get a totally new haircut

Angie Marín: I've needed this for SO LONG

S Aashna: Thank you... Its special thanks from me... Because I am currently in this stage and was worried what to do

Lily Matthews: Thank you, I saw a difference straight away

Charlotte Eeva: so very helpful!

Zakia Khan: Omg i was just in need of this..thank u so muck ma’am

justcallmerachel: i have the opposite problem. i first got thin bangs bc i wasn't sure i would look good with bangs, but thin bangs look really werid on me so i would like to make them thicker but i have no idea how to do this

Niki V: Shoot I thought you'd cut your bangs like that on purpose! Looks great before and after!
