Another con, which is just completely random in the winter, is like putting on a hat or some type of beanie. Somebody just dm'd me this and i was like wait. I have to include that, and i put a jacket on just for effects. It'S like what is this: what is this hello? Everybody welcome back to my channel. If you are new here, my name is caitlin and i run the account her atlas. That'S probably pretty freaking obvious. If you are here based on the title, it's because you're thinking about getting bangs and you want to know the pros and cons or you have bangs - find useful tips and tricks on how to style them. These are basically things that i wish i had known before. Getting bangs, so i hope that it prepares you guys. A lot of this stuff has just come from my personal experience. I got my bangs cut in october. It is january now, so these are just things that have helped me: the products, the combs, the hair stuff, the i don't know, basically anything you may want to know beforehand as we're going through this video. I will be styling my bangs, so i'm going to show you all the products that i like to use that have really really helped me train my bangs or style them. The way that i, like i like mine, to lay a little more on the flatter side, but i still like movement to them, but still like control them. I don't really know if that makes sense. I hope you guys, like this video, give it a thumbs up and make sure you guys are subscribed. If you're going to get your bangs cut, i highly recommend getting them cut in the fall. One is like a super sassy accessory it just look. It looks like cozy and inviting and warm - and you kind of get this like wholesome pinterest vibe. Another reason why i recommend getting your bangs cut in the fall is because it gets cold in the fall, which means you don't have to worry about sweating in the summertime, while trying to figure out how to style and wear bangs. You are going to want to get a round brush. I ordered this one from dry bar. I think it's an inch and a half, so i like to have volume, but not a ton of volume like i don't want my bangs like out like this. That is just personal preference. I like a little bit of volume, but i don't want it like crazy big. So this allows me to kind of get thickness volume while they are still flat. One of the best things you can get yourselves if you're getting bangs is a spray bottle. You will become like a master at only washing your bangs you're, going to need to do that almost every day. Every other day they just get really dirty, just like laying on your forehead, they're kind of you know, shambly and chaotic, looking having a spray bottle and getting them wet is going to solve all those problems. You are definitely going to want to get one of these once you have your bangs like super wet, like this you're going to blow dry your hair, and what i'm going to focus on is blow drying all of this forward, and then i'm also going to be Doing like some of this number until the roots are blow-dried forward, you have to train your bangs. My hair will actually still kind of part, because i am a really bad bangs person. You do have to train your hair to go forward so that it will actually stay and i'll show you in a few minutes, like a few of my tips other than the blow-dry, to keep your hair forward. This is the blow dryer i use. I'Ve had it for a few years, the brand is called amica, and i also think it's really important to have something like this, that you can add to your blow dryer. I think that it helps a lot, especially when i will be blow drying like this. Now i'm really bad at tutorial, so i'm my apologies of this is hard to follow. I have my blow dryer set to high heat, but a low air setting, and my focus right now is blow drying my hair forward and in every direction. This is going to help train your bangs to lay forward. You want your bangs to go from soaking wet to just a medium dry, we're going to focus on the roots and style it in a second, this video in itself, showing you how to style. Bangs is probably going to discourage many of you from even getting bangs, but just hang onto that thought for a second, because they're gon na look really cute and they're gon na be kind of worth it. When we're done now, i'm gon na take my round brush and gosh. I don't really know if this is gon na make sense, i'm going to brush it back and also turn at the same time, because you want the roots like up. God bless. If you understand my directions, it's kind of too much hair, so i'm gon na split it in half, which is okay and this side, i'm going to try to blow dry it towards this side of my face and this side i'm going to try to blow dry. It towards this side of my face, because i don't know, i just think that it works. Okay, now we're gon na check to see how we did we're looking good, my favorite hair ties. I think they're called like scunci or scootchy, or something like that. I get them from sephora with my hair texture. They are amazing. I can use this and put my hair up in a bun or a ponytail and it will stay they're like grippy, don't crimp your hair or damage or break it. This brings us to the next topic of bang maintenance, which i hate. I hate it and i feel like people with bangs just like they. They don't talk about it and i will say you guys warned me on instagram. Some of my friends warned me, but i just didn't understand to like to what extent how annoying and frustrating they can be. So if you are somebody who doesn't do your hair like if you do not do your hair like ever don't get bangs, i'm gon na tell you this now. Don'T get bangs because you're really not gon na have a good time. You'Re, not gon na do them. I almost never do my bangs unless i know i'm filming for youtube, because i do think that they look really cute and they make me look wholesome. I don't know you literally have to do them every single day, but here's my trick. If you don't want to do your bangs, then you definitely want to look into getting like really cute headbands. I'Ve been wearing headbands. So so much if you see me with had a headband on it's because, like i'm not doing it, i'm not doing them today, it's a no. I learned this from my friend georgia. This is a plain headband like this one and i just wrapped it with a scarf. I actually prefer this method because i feel, like headbands, hurt like right here after a while, and it actually adds a lot more cushion when i first got my bangs cut. It would take me like 25 to 30 minutes to just do my bangs and that's because you're getting used to it so don't be discouraged if you did just get bangs. It took me about two weeks to kind of like get into a groove figure out when i wanted to do bangs when i didn't want to do bangs, but especially, if you have to report to work, you want to at least give yourself like add an extra Half hour just to do your bangs now i can do them a lot more efficiently and faster, and i feel like i know how i like them, styled and in the beginning, you're, not gon na know what else i don't like about bangs is when you wake Up with bangs, nobody told me what to expect the first time you wake up with bangs. Nobody told me about this they're also a lot of high maintenance, because you do have to get them cut and trimmed. I actually prefer mine on the longer side, but when i get them trimmed i usually get them trimmed right above my eyebrow, and then that gives me a little extra time in between and you know the difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is just Two weeks, so just give it a little bit of time if you're not really feeling it right now, the next two things that you are literally going to need for hair care, hair maintenance when you have bangs, is dry, shampoo and a texture spray. Now i know a lot of people will prefer a hair spray over a texture spray. But for me i prefer the look of a texture spray. It still gives movement to my bangs, but gives a little structure and volume and then dry shampoo. Just because, like your bags, are gon na get oily, i don't really know what else to say: you're just gon na need it. So this is the dry shampoo that i like, as i'm going in with the dry shampoo, i'm slowly lifting my hands like this. Do you see how it's all falling for the texture straight texture, spray, texture spray? I, like the living proof, full body, full dry volume, blast the full life, whatever you can read if you're training, your bangs, which i kind of still am and or you want them to like stay in place. This is what i did, which helped a lot. I took a men's beard, comb and i just went to the top and combed it like this texture spray and, like pretty generously put it there, so it's kind of wet and just used my hand to push it forward, and this is how i helped train my Bangs, i don't know if i'm really qualified to be doing this, for you guys do the same thing with the texture spray. I cannot say that word. Texture spray, texture spray, i'm gon na do the same thing that i did with the dry shampoo, where i pull it up slowly and just then you just kind of like you know, play with them a bit. This is what my bangs now look like down. See see that is because the texture spray, but they still look like they still move. That'S why i prefer texture spray. This is now what my bangs look like in a normal day. It would only take me, like 15 minutes to do all this, because i have my little groove down, so i hope that it helped you if you're trying to figure out how to style your bangs or maybe you want to sail them like mine. I don't know. I just want to be completely honest about getting bangs. I do really love them and find them really cute and sassy and playful, and i feel like i have like a new identity they make for a great hair accessory, like i feel like i can do less with my hair and they still look adorable and darling. But with that being said, you're still doing more with your hair. So maybe i'm like contradicting what i'm saying another product that i feel like i cannot live without while having bangs right now. Is this perfect shine, clarifying scalp scrub by nature lab tokyo? It'S a scalp scrub to strip your hair of products that you use. So i actually use this like twice a week and i definitely need to get the bigger size. It'S like 16 for like a huge thing of it and you can feel like the product strip out of your hair. So i highly recommend it if you're putting a lot of products in your hair and like there's just a lot of buildup yeah. This has been a lifesaver. Thank you guys so much for watching this video all about bangs, how i style them the pros and cons. Let me know in the comments what you guys thought about this video or, if you want to see anything else kind of like in this genre um with that being said, i will see you guys next time and thanks for watching bye,

shytealatte: Super cute! I remember when I first got bangs about 4 years ago, I was under the impression I had to blow dry them every single day. I did that for about a year. Then I progressively got lazy and now I just wash and let them air dry and it works just the same! It might depend on hair type but bangs don’t require a ton of work when you get used to them (: So if you’re reading this, this is a sign to get bangs!

Karina Torres: I get so annoyed when I hear others say to not get bangs because they are hard work. So according to their logic, everyone else is lazy as they are? Sesh! Bangs can be tough to figure out at the begninnung, but once you figure it out, you have a killer cute and femine hair style! It's honestly not that hard if your hair isn't all curly and wavy.

Jaycie Vaughn: I’ve had my bangs for the past year in a half-ish and I’ve ALWAYS struggled on how to style them so like the straighten them curl then a tiny bit then leave and it was awful, and with your tips it helped a lot so thank you’

c3L4: THIS VIDEO IS A LIFE SAVER I LITERALLY JUST GOT BANGS YESTERDAY LOL LOVED THIS!!

Faith Orcutt: I'm about to get bangs and this video was a GOD-SEND! I'm so hype to use all of your tips and tricks :) plus your directions were super clear! :)

Melisa Wilson: I wasn’t sure when you first cut your bangs but I definitely love how you style them! Looks really good. Ive been cutting my toddlers hair and she wakes up with perfect bangs every morning which amazes me, must be because her hair has been trained to grow that direction (she won’t let me put her hair up in cute hairstyles so short hair and bangs it is!)

Jennifer Dewey-Osburn: I have had bangs for approximately 31 of my 35 years on earth, and was TODAY YEARS OLD when I learned to style them. My gods... thank you for this

Jesus: idk if this might help anyone, but i’ve had bangs for a bit when I was younger but I’ve never had to style them in any way (I have strong, thick, straight hair for reference). So it might be a training and hair type thing, because my bangs always looked good without any effort because they would just naturally lay the way they were supposed to at a certain point.

Life In Newfoundland: It does look good on you! I always wanted one but every time I do it, it’s an instant regret!

niki e: I use Burt's bees dusting powder. I put some on my fingers and rub it through my bangs before brushing it through with my denman brush every morning. It keeps them fluffy most of the day. It smells good, too ❤️

Michelle Ochsner: After having bangs for almost 10 years I just brush them in the morning BANG DONE hahaha you'll be pro in a few years :D they really suit you so I hope you keep them forever

Janelle Roberts: I love the honesty LOL I've had so much trouble styling my bangs and this helped a lot, thank you!

Kay Dorje: I'm grateful that I saw this video before I looked at a tutorial for cutting bangs. I do not want to spend an extra 30 minutes per day, so thank you for that advice

Hannah Andersen: I just wanna say if anyone is watching this and is intimidated by the high maintenance, consider sideswept bangs. They are, in my experience, waaay less maintenance, though i did have to train them when i first started (probably over a decade ago at this point). I literally dont do anything to them except wetting them if they're looking a little crazy in the morning. But it probably depends on hair texture too ( i have straight, fine scandinavian hair)

Jennifer Orcutt: I like your bangs! I cut my own bangs a while ago and I did have the problems that you said you had but yesterday I remember I had a Botox for the hair that a friend of mine gave me so I did just a teeny bit to try it out and only did it on my bangs and it looks amazing. You should try it if you still have your bangs

Kseniia Kunakh: My actual issue with no-bangs/fringe hairstyle is that the direction of my hair growth is forward. And whatever I do, that damn front strand is always on my face. ALWAYS. So yeah, bangs suit better than that weird strand. Who else got that problem?

B̶u̶b̶b̶l̶e̶s̶: I've had curtain bangs for about the past year or so, but I really want that whsipy bang look. I'm so nervous though because my faceis quite wide so I'm not sure which style to use and what type. And I wear glasses and a hat for my work often so it's all so difficult. I hope I get the right type

Bella T: Welcome to the ladies world. Where no one tells you how difficult almost ANYTHING that women do is

Лана Лана: The best tip for bangs: No bangs=no problems You are welcome! PS: but you look cute!

Joanna Markarova: if you're thinking about it and you're not sure if it would look on you start with loooong curtain bangs if you feel good about it go nuts if you're not they'll gonna grow beautifully. curtain bangs are also good for people that love bangs in the winter but hate them in the summer. there's literally no akward phasea and they're very low maintenance.

Jennie McKeon: I’ve had bangs most of my life and still found a few tips here!

notmitskisusallipstick: I’m getting bangs in five days and this really helped!

Kaplumbağanın Kabuğu: I have already cut bangs but it's fun watching bangs/fringe videos

Wanderlust-Production: Totally needed this video thank you for this

Tea Jonsén: I love this video and your messy and amazing energy haha I actually just cut bangs, and I live in Barcelona so it's a bit hot to have bangs but it's still cute!

Gulnihal T: Thanks for such a genuine and thrust worth comments about having bangs!!

purplechickon: What I've learned from this: I am way to lazy to have bangs. Lol

Sarahi Govea: I’ve never wanted bangs but then post partum hair loss happened and here I am struggling with the regrowth so I’m trying to figure out how to tame this mess and make the most of it lol

Grace G.: You look great with bangs! When I had them it was frustrating

Farina Saberin Huq Farronira: I wish I had seen your video before I got my hair cut, just 4days ago. Then I would have NEVER gotten my bangs in the first place! But, in a desperate search for an answer on how to cure this, I guess I came about this extremely helpful video you made. SO THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS. AND, NOW I KNOW THE PURPOSE OF MY BANGS. Cuz it got me to watch your video and find you. We are all connected it seems. But, yeah. Never again. Can't wait to grow them out like OVERNIGHT? PLS? AND YEAH. WHY DOESN'T ANYONE TELL YOU THE AFTERMATH OF WAKING UP FROM A NIGHT'S SLEEP?! HOW MINE LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE A MULLET I NEVER WANTED & ASKED FOR? Humidity does it even worse. And I got it done in summer. Anyways. Loved your insight. I hate my fringy bangs. I hope it gets fixed soon by growing it all out. Lots of love from the other side of the world.

Genny Kunkel: Wow, you do so much work. With mine, I wet a comb and comb them forward. Sometimes that’s enough! Sometimes I’ll hit that’s with a blow dryer. But I never blow dry+brush. I like to let my bangs just fall flat down and form to the contours of my face. Other times, wearing a hat can help. If you don’t have enough time to blow dry, put a hat on and go. Then you can add a bit of dry shampoo, or whatever, when you get to work.

M L: You look really lovely with bangs and the bangs were cut in Japan, right!? Japanese hair dressers have a really nice way of cutting bangs, they really get it, even if your hair is not Asian. I had my hair cut in Japan and then when back home, wanted them to cut the bangs the same way...and they cut it like with a hacksaw, the result was awful. Maybe I just got a not so skilled hair dresser and most of my hair cuts have been done in Japan, but in my experience, Japanese bang-cutting is the best! I guess bangs are high maintenance if you have just got them and the hair and you are not used to them. I've had bangs most of my life, minus 2 years in junior high school, and it is not difficult at all. I don't use any special products, wash only the bangs some days (but not every day), dry them and go...all in all about 3 minutes. Or just straighten...30 sec and go. So, all in all, if you like the look of your bangs, I'd say, just hang in there and it will become so easy after a while. I also cut them myself between hair salon visits.

Shannon Olivia: lol I just got bangs again but this was all super helpful!!!! thank you <3

Yes: I had bangs for most of my life and it was hell, i had to wait for 2 years for them to fully become the same length as my hair and ive forgotten how it feels to have bangs

Marisa Marie: I love and prefer myself with bangs. But I’m the worst candidate for them because I have a freaking cow lick right there but I don’t care, I fight it because I won’t let it rule my life. Thank you for the texture spray tip! I’m going to give that a try.

Sarah Bronson: Great content as always!!

Lindsey Morris: “God Bless if you understand.” I love you keep it real! Yeah, I’ve now decided I’m to lazy for bangs lol. Glad you gave these pointers.

Jana B: I had my fringe moment about 12 years ago and it was horrible. The worst thing was it was a time when my passport had to be renewed so I had a picture with the horrible fringe on my passport for 10 YEARS!!! the electronic gates at the airport could never recognize me.

Samantha Tse: I never do my hair, like ever haha so yah, getting bangs was not a good move. But now I have semi curtain bangs, and my lazy way to "style" it now is with a hair roller. I'll usually wear it to bed, then in the morning I just run my hands through it to fix lol. I find even if I just wear it for maybe 15-20min, when I don't have time, still helps!

Sunshine Star: You can pull off anything. The good thing about hair is it grows back

Lindsey Irvin: have you ever tried the big sexy hair dry shampoo? it's got a texturizing element to it, it's my favorite dry shampoo bc it acts like a styling product as well. could maybe help you skip a step!

Jannet Paz: Okay but I could not stop laughing when you were telling us to do it this way and the other way.. you're def a hoot! So I got bangs on Saturday and I hate them... booohooooo, I love them but hate them, they don't go with my face shape what so ever, so I can not wait for them to grow out lol I just have a round face and it sucks bc I think bags look so cute.

Sam Fournier: I love bangs but since my hair is wavy the upkeep is a challenge. I’m already growing them out because the dedication ain’t easy. I know I’ll cut them again next year though

Alexis Waisanen Fritz: My husband says you are his "favorite vlogger" of the vlogs I watch, I even caught him watching this vlog while he pretended not to watch the vlog bc it is about bangs

Kritu Rajput ( Karishma ): I do have bangs but it's really very difficult to manage it everyday. Every day when i get up in the morning, it's the same story so now i have decided no bangs

Makaela Carey: I always love the idea of bangs but then regret them as soon I get them cut they always get too oily for me lol

Elvy S.: Best bang tutorial ever!! Lololol I did actually learn yay!! Thank you so much!

Krisha Marcelino: I tried bangs before. But it looks ugly because my hair is curly(looks like a loose curls) and frizzy. I always fix my hair but it doesn't really work. So I just let my bangs grow and never do it again. I think bangs and I are not really meant for each other

Maria: I have thin, fine medium long blonde hair and am about to get bangs sitting in chair waiting for my highlights to lighten before rinsing out and going to get hair cut pray for meeee. I also never do my hair but I would if it looked cute and was worth it sooo yea we shall see this helped me see the realistic reality of having them and I’m still willing sooo yes. It’s also summer so I may regret this part but I’m so eager! Thank you!

sasha.: i have watched hundreds of these videos and this is rly rly helpful :D i might actually cut them..

Ruthie: I just recently got bangs and it only takes me like 5 minutes to style them.

Ana: Could you do a video showing you doing your nails? Step by step

From Paris to Osaka with Love: If you cut your bang shorter you don’t have any hats issues i have a short and thick bang and I wear hats all the time!

Cyndi: Earmuffs are a must! Glasses are frustrating with glasses. Sweaty bangs are the worst.

Elisabeth122: Oh no, I think you talked me back into bangs. No, I can't do that again. But I could. ahhhh

Joy C: What would you say is the difference between high heat/low speed, vs low heat/high speed in terms of results?

Sienna Connell: Love your vids so much hope the queen sees this

ohdooly: It looks like you have a cowlick where you hair naturally parts(?) and can I say your dedication to styling them is amazing. I also have one in my hairlines BUT IM SO LAZY haha. Currently growing them out, but anytime I look at pictures of them styled I'm like.. YES lets cut them again

Amanda B: Tell me why this video came at just the right time. Here I am in my bathroom with scissors.

Kxm Thxnh: i'd love to get bangs but at the same time im scared bc my hair is so thin and flat, and gets oily rlly quick:/

MELISSA CRAMER: You look great w/ the bangs!! It Just seems like way too much work!

O O: What did you ask for when you got this haircut? I want it!! With the short bits that come down at the sides and the wispy straight fringe

Jackson5 FamilyVlogs: So it’s been brought to my attention that you sound very much like Zooey Deschanel and now I can’t unhear it lol also have had bangs most of my life and your video was very informative lol ( I also never do my hair lol) so my bangs go pretty flat unless I’m dressing up for something

franklin the woman: debating some side bangs hm hm hmm. thanks for the tips!

Seba Stian: Yeah, bangs can look good, HOWEVER it's very high maintenance!

miss kobayashi: im somebody with the same bangs as this person, but i kind of want to add onto what she said at 6:05. "if you dont do your hair, like ever, then just dont get bangs." i dont really do my hair, and i only do my bangs if my cowlick is bad that day, but this is so false! literally all i do is put some water directly on ym bangs, comb it out a little to separate it, and then i get a round brush and twist. afterwards i just let it air-dry and put on some dry shampoo to help the oiliness. it works fine! if you arent prepared to *commit* to bangs, then thats when you shouldnt get it.

Mabel Joe: last time I go my hair cut was May 2020. My hair is layered and I have bangs. Due to covid-19 the county locked down. Hair salons was closed. I have chin length bangs now my hair grew out passed by shoulder blades. I do not when I going to get my hair cut. Before the Covid-19 lockdown, I wash my hair, use hair condition. Towel try hair. use a comb to style my bang. I let the air dry my damp hair naturally. My hair was shoulder length.

purple s: Im in love with your eyes and bangs look awesome on youuuu whatttt i looked like a coconut when i got bangs before

Jonatan L: I'm not even close to thinking about getting bangs, but I'mma watch anyways:) I really want to get a haircut now... I haven't had one In so long so my hair is a mess. I'm finnaly early again. School have started again so I've had to do a lot of school work. I've had distance for a while now (over a month), but at Monday i have to go back...

Cox Family: I love your hair with bangs. I love dry hair spray but how do you get rid of the white build up u get with it? I do it far enough away to try to stop it. Help?!?!?

Diana Green: If u pour boiling water over your hair ties they will tighten up

renjvcn: does anyone also wash their bangs on the sinks w a lil bit shampoo

Kaylita: You look younger with bangs. It accentuate your blue eyes. Please keep your bangs.

Rebecca R: I love that jacket in the back!! If you happen to see this could you tell me where it’s from please?❤️

Charlotte Hutchison: Please use thermal protection.. Holding the blow dryer that close to your hair while using a thermal brush will damage your hair.

j t: is the black attachment for the dryer necessary bc ive seen many ppl use them

Fabilb: Hi,can you film a video when you have shorter bangs? ❤️❤️

It's just me: im disappointed. i came here thinking i was going to be shown how to grow bangs - but i can't even grow hair!

Jayden Pond: You're awesome! Also I've started learning to write kanji :>

Kassandra Kenny: I wish I found this video months ago

sarah: no actually u dont need to work hard to do ur bangs... i mean for other yea u might wanna do it but for mine it looks natural just like that, i literally dont use any heat on my hair at all and they look fine. might just be my luck but yea

Shannon G: for the life of my I can never get my bangs the same why after I left the salon, I don't know why but they just have a mind of their own and clump up in the middle and much more. I need help lol

Lori Gillis: Don't get bangs, got it lol

Christina: Your eyes are so blue!

Alexi M: maam i cut my bangs like last week bc i thought they looked cute on you and i wanted to look cute too lolllllllllllll rip my low maintenance lifestyle

Kat To: I've had bangs for 20 out of the 30 years of my life which means I haven't been able to wear hats for 20 years of my life.
