STRAIGHT HAIR WITH 70s BANGS + VOLUME TUTORIAL (lasts for days!) | LeighAnnSays

LeighAnnSays

Hey everyone, I'm Lee Anne. If you don't know me if you do and you're back. Thank you so much. You are my people. I love you today is hair day. My hair is real wet. Obviously so I'm gon na blow dry it with you and show you how I've been styling it lately. I only wash my hair like two or three times a week and I kind of planned my whole week around when I'm gon na have time to wash my hair and when I'm gon na work out, and I try to make everything kind of line up with All that today it was wash and day I washed my hair, it's all fresh and I try to do my hair, so it will last so day one I usually wear it straight, so I'm gon na be doing it straight. I'M gon na be doing my little 70s curtin bangs and show you how I blow-dry them to look like that, and look like that for a few days, I'm gon na show you how I do them. It'S a full like haircare routine. I don't really know how to title this video. I don't know how to intro it, but basically it's just my blowout. It'S how I style my hair. When I wash it, that's not a catchy title: I'm a horrible youtuber, I'm so sorry about the lawnmower noise outside it always happens. You sit down to film, it's perfectly quiet. Birds are chirping. You are basically snow. White everything's going right in the world hit record lawn mower everyone's got ta, do it so acting fast, these bangs have got to be done. That is like the number one rule with bangs get out of the shower blow dry. Like seriously, you can put your moisturizer on, you can do very few little baby steps, but the first thing you need to worry about is your bangs, because once they set down where they're going, you have to like completely rewetting, which it's not like. That is such a big deal, but mine are real, wet right now, so I just want to jump in and show you how I do them whoo look at how long they are. These are just like the 70s bangs of my dreams. Y'All, don't even know how much I love them. So basically, I'm just brushing my bangs forward and then I'm bringing everything back and getting it out of the way. I cannot see you right now, hello. Now I have my hairdryer and I'm gon na blow dry. My hair, this way this way this way this way and just switch directions, just sweeping it with my hand and then sweeping it with the brush a little bit, and you just want to do this for a little bit until it's like 50 % dry all right Now, I'm just brushing them out and partying them down the middle. Now I'm going to work on each side individually to give it that shape where it kind of floats backwards, not like full-on Farrah Fawcett, but in that category for sure I'm gon na grab my wrong brush and get going. I wrapped it around bring it forward down towards my forehead and then back and up-down wrap up and back now, if it's in too wild, you want to kind of just pull it downward like that. I don't know if you can hear me, I'm sorry and to really set it. You can go in with a little bit of cold air now and there you go. We'Ve got some shape. We'Ve got kind of like a little bit of an S. Ok, now we're moving on to the other side. All right, do you all see this shape? It just comes out of nowhere, honestly, it's all about how you hold the round brush and how you direction it down and forward, and then up and back and release it. Like that so time to deal with the rest of my hair, the rest of my hair is definitely damp, but it's not like fresh out of the shower wet. You know a lot of times. I will go and do my makeup while my hair kind of air dries for a little while, but today, since I already have my makeup done for you guys, I'm gon na go ahead and blow-dry it from this point and all I'm gon na do is flip. My head over and just rough dry it with this, but I don't dry it all the way. You'Ll see why, when I'm ready, this is so weird all right. So I really only blow-dried my hair for a couple of minutes and it's kind of dry. It'S kind of wet, but it could definitely be more dry. I'M pausing for a second before I go on to the next step, because I have to tell you about a product that I forgot to include in the beginning. After I take a shower before I brush out my hair, I always use this product. It is a lifesaver, it's called all-in-one milk. I have really really tangly hair and it can take me ages to brush it out and I hate it. It'S so frustrating it's color treated it's long and it's fine. It'S like the perfect storm and the tangles are a mess. This has changed everything. It'S actually a heat, protectant plus detangler. So it's a two-in-one. It'S amazing! I had to tell you, I couldn't forget to tell you, because this is very important. I don't spring it at all like up near my roots, because that can get it more greasy faster. I find so. I really focus it down more in the length of my hair and I just love it. I could not forget it moving on next step, I'm going in with my Revlon one styler blow-dry styler. I can't remember the official name of this thing, but you've probably seen it around it's great. It'S amazing people say it's like the dupe for the Dyson air wrap. I did a whole video about the Dyson era, and so many people mentioned this and that's why I got it. Thank you so much for the recommendation. I'Ve been using it ever since, and I sent back the Dyson anyway. I will say this: one does not do the same thing as a Dyson. This thing does not curl my hair, but I really like how it blow dries it. It gives a straight look, but with volume and you'll see what that looks like, but I don't really like to go in with this thing straight out with my really really wet hair. I feel like that, creates more work for you, so you just rough dry with the regular blow-dryer and then go in with this, and it gives a really nice beautiful straight look without having to like round brush every section of your hair. You know what I mean dude, this thing is really cool. You'Ve got a couple different settings down here you have a cool, low and high. I will say this thing. I do not think it is as healthy for your hair as the Dyson air wrap. This thing gets really really really hot and I feel like you should be careful with it and if you can get away with just using the low setting, I would but it's good. It is as good as people say, and it's definitely way way way way way. Less expensive than the Dyson air wrap, so it's worth checking out and basically for this I just flipped my head over again and blow dry through my hair. It'S not any kind of like precise method at all, but you'll see it looks good really. I just like to avoid around brushing my whole head. That is so much work, and this is my shortcut. I look so weird. Alright, I don't really know how helpful this ankle is, but hopefully you're able to see what's going on. Okay, it's getting hot in here before I flip my head back over just to kind of try to like seal in that volume. I switch to the cool setting and I just go through my hair once again and try to let it cool down a little bit. Whoa, do you see this? Okay? Now you can see after I use the Revlon dryer, it's really straight and really nice and it's easy. I basically just go through completely rough, like it's just basically a brush, and it gives you nice volume and it strains out of your hair like I have to say. Obviously I have pretty straight hair, mostly, like I don't know 90 % straight hair, but it will get wavy if I don't keep an eye on it, and this thing is so so helpful. So here I am, and my hair is still just like the tiniest bit damp, but what I like to do next is grab a little texture spray. You can use this one, it's the orb, a dry texturizing spray. I love this one. It'S amazing, but it's expensive and that hurts, but I can tell you: I've tried a bunch of different ones and it's worth it. It is just so good. I also have this Kristin s dry, finish: working texture spray. So a lot of people compare these two and they say the Kristin asks is a dupe, that's less expensive to me: it's not a dupe. However, you do get good results, so I kind of use them in combination. If you don't want to spend the money go for this one anyway, so I grab my texture spray. This one is like almost gone, so I might have to go to the Kristin s and I go around the crown of my head and I add some in then with that section still in my hand, I grab my Revlon dryer and I go through kind of Like it's a round brush and it does magical things for my volume, I switched the dryer to cool at the end. But if I have time, I continue to kind of hold it up a little bit to let that heat come out and kind of have it set in the up position, kind of up and forward alright, letting it go, and you can see it gives you a Little bit of extra bounce, you might not be able to see it, but I can see it it matters to me and then next I go on either side of my part. Grab sections add a little texture spray blow dry a little bit and that finishes off the blow drying and also adds some really nice volume that stays all right. We'Re almost done, I'm just getting my hair nice and brushed out. You can see the ends. I probably am in need of a trim right now, but it looks pretty good and now we're gon na add a little more volume. Sadly, my orb a can is completely dead. Just in time for this video I actually have a little travel-size, but I'm not gon na bust that one out we'll just go to the Kristin s, which is a really good option. It gives you the good texture. It gives great volume. It just doesn't feel as clean. You know what I mean you might not, so I really try not to go overboard with teasing and texture spray and stuff when I'm wearing my hair straight. Just because I feel like yes, I'm doing like a 70s look, but I don't want to like do like a costume look. You know what I mean so I'm trying to keep it a little more modern, a little more sleek, but at the same time you know these are the bangs. I'Ve got it real long parted on the middle, like that's what I'm going for. So I'm just doing a couple sections in the back spraying a bit of the Kristin s and going in with a teasing brush just lightly, nothing crazy and then I smooth over and that just gives me a little bit of oomph in the back. Forgive me, I cannot see it right now. I don't have a mirror to like spin around and look at it, but let's be real. I don't usually do that anyway, like if it looks good from the front, I'm happy cuz really who's staring at the back of my head. If you are stop that's weird anyway, I just continue that same process, exact same thing, totally boring on both sides around my part. I do a little bit of teasing in the bangs, but not too much, but really it's the texture spray that does it all. Otherwise, my hair would be like flat, boring horrible. Oh, I have to mention this when I'm wearing my hair straight, I don't use my little crimp crimp. If you watch that video, you know what I'm talking about. I tested out a few tools where they're, like almost like mini crimpers, where you go in under the top layers of your hair and add volume by crimping it. It sounds crazy, but it works. I don't use that when I wear my hair straight, I like to go in with that more whenever I'm wearing my hair curly, because I feel like I can get away with a bigger hair in general. So when I'm just wearing it straight, I feel like I've already spent enough time, my hair blow drying it and all that, and I don't want to go in with a little crimp, crimp or curling my hair, and all that I will spend time with my makeup. Not on my hair makes no sense all right. There we go, we got a little more umph. We got a little more like 70s Flair coming in the other thing I really like to do, for this front. Section is a little more texture spray, and I literally just go like this. I just like shoot it at the ends and let it do whatever it wants, and it kind of just gives the end of the bang that little personality. This applies to like no one, but just in case you have these bangs or if you want these bangs. This is how you can do it a little crazy, just shoot it right into the bangs, and it does something you know like. Oh hello, oh right there we go. That'S what I like to see so, like I always looked at people's hair, and I wondered: how are you getting your bangs to do that? How do you have that volume? How do you have it like going away from your face like that, and this is the trick? It'S texture spray, it's the hair dryer, but mostly, I feel like it's texture spray like it makes such a huge difference. Did you guys see Hilary Duff post that picture that she got these bangs and her hair was like voluminous and gorgeous and like complete bombshell? Oh, that is the hair of my dreams. Obviously, I'm trying I'm like the generic version, but I'm trying this is what I'm working with. Sometimes I curl late the next day. Sometimes I don't curl it, and I just wear it straight for the next few days until I have to wash it again, but basically all I have to do is like Judge it up a little bit in the top when you have that much texture spray you're. Basically, good on volume, you might want to add a little bit more, but you also might just want to use a little bit of dry shampoo. Of course, I have batiste I've been using Batty's for years. It'S inexpensive. They now have this volumizing version, which is also good. I'Ve also been using the dry bar triple sec. It'S a three-in-one, texturize amplify and refresh dry shampoo, also good, but it also feels heavier in my hair, but it's more of like a heavy duty situation. Dry, shampoo is my life. This is it so going forward. Do you guys want to see a video on how I do my waves, how I curl my hair cuz? I totally be happy to do that. I was thinking about doing that in this video, but I didn't want to make it too long and I'm already making it way too long. I hope you guys enjoyed it. I will link all the products down in the description in case you're curious, don't forget to subscribe. If you haven't subscribed hit the bell for notification, so you can know every time I upload can also find me on social media. I always let you guys know over there too. It'S Leon says everywhere and as always, thank you so much for watching and I'll see you guys next time bye, everyone long treacherous road treacherous so in case you're curious well, when you have that much texture spray in it. All you have to do is like a little bit of this and you look like I don't know. What does this look like, assess the situation and, of course they start doing landscaping? Why

Jess Cunn: Girl you are not the generic version, you are FANCY FEAST ✨

Hillary: Can you show us day by day how you style your hair until the next wash? Kinda like a foundation wear video ya know ‍♀️

Ashlea Lomelino: Thank you Leighann!! I have these bangs right now because my hair is growing out from having straight across bangs and I honestly didn’t know what to do with them.. I just styled my hair like this and it looks so good!

VJ: Love 70s bangs/curls! I still use curlers every now and then and just love that look. I don't care if it's not with the times. It looks good. :)

ofrierson: Yes! More hair tutorials! I have the same fine hair problems and its so helpful to see what you do! I also bought the Bed Head little crimp crimp today off your recommendation and I can't wait for it to come in!

Alecia J: Love this hairstyle! I'm a stylist and I think you do a great job on your hair. Also if you haven't tried IGK their dry shampoo is my favorite. But not the pink one you have to get the charcoal one. And yes oribé texture spray is the best!!!

Ashley Alexa: aw i have been missing a good ol' leigh ann hair tutorial lately!! your 70s bangs give me major elle from kill bill vibes!!

Cheyenne Tatum: A wave tutorial sounds awesome! Honestly, I'd be interested in seeing a hair care routine video also cause your hair is gorgeous and looks so healthy!

Dani Johns: Girl, your hair is the hair of my dreams! I have curly/wavy hair and I have always dreamed of only having to blow dry it straight haha.

smithan256: I loved this! I actually have all the tools and products in this video so it was fun to see how you used them! Gave me a lot of good ideas. Considering getting my bangs cut like yours.. would love to see a video on waves and casual/effortless hair styles (don’t wanna look too done up)

Leslie Robbins: I have straight flat pilgrim hair too! So I definitely appreciate this video!!!!

Samantha Diaz: Hoping my hair can last for days with these tips!

M.Hads: I’m soo obsessed with everything 70s also! Loved the video!! Please continue with your hair videos

Kathy McCoy: Thank you! This is chock full of helpful tips! and yes please do a video on the waves!

♥️DazzlingChick♥️: LeighAnn, Great hair update video. I do the same with washing and working out. You crack me up with the Snow White reference...that happens to be my favorite princess too. Love the 70’s vibes. I know that neither one of us was born then but I have been rocking that style off and on for a while now. If you put Lana Del Rey, Kasey Musgrave and young Cher in a blender...that’s basically my style most of the time. ~Blessings Love and Light Carli

Brie Garza: Just got long bangs so this was super helpful

Plantifullydana: Ive recently been trying a middle part and couldnt figure out how to style my little "bangs" so this video is perfect!! I just need to practice the whole round brush thing

Anna Egan: Loved this, and I had no idea you used the Revlon dryer! I just got one for my birthday and have hated round brushing my whole head, so I am so excited to try this method!!!

Lynn Rose: You always do a nice job with your hair. I like this style.

Sophie Kristiansen: Yes Davines Oi Milk - the best! Giving in and getting the Revlon now, I feel like our hair likes the same things. Yours is gorgeous as always, the bangs suit you so well! Wishing you an amazing weekend Leighann.

lecavalier32: Debating growing out the fringe due to sticky summer heat approaching; this video inspired me to just grow 'em out. Great look and thanks for sharing! <3

jbdjessa2: This is super helpful! Going to try this out!

Emily Vance: Leigh ann you are so pretty!! Video idea: your favorite things about summer.. like to wear, listen to, do, watch, eat etc. You've said before that summer is your season and I totally see that for you. When I think about summers past I get nostalgic for old leigh ann videos from main channel and vlog. I think it's because you come alive in the summer and make the most of the season. The 70s comes full force with you in the summer and I can relate. Just a thought!

M.A. Sep: LOVE my Revlon volumizer air brush! Totally agree that it's better to "pre-dry" with a regular dryer first.

Holly N.: I don’t know if I’ve comment on this already.. but I cut my bangs to look like yours and I just absolutely LOVE them. Whenever I blow dry my hair I come back to this video ❤️

Gail L / ggl_collage: I LOVE that Revlon hair tool!! I bought a heat glove to use with it because, yes, it really does get hot!!

Amateur: Yes to the curly/wavy hair tutorial please!!

Emily Witt: Team tangly hair My entire routine from shampoo to styling is focused on creating the least amount of tanglage as possible.

Alyssa Rizzini: you know leigh ann is just out here giving us the most USEFUL VIDEOS EVER ugh will never stop loving you. but also i bought the oribe texture spray because of you and girl if i get addicted i am coming for you. <3

Elizabeth Leddy: I’m so excited about this!! One question—what products do you put on your hair before starting the blow drying and styling process?

13perestroika: Leighann, ever since your video about the crimping method, I've been doing it every time after I blow dry! Can't go without it anymore #lilcrimpcrimp

Bebs28: Yes! Please do a wavy/ curly tutorial!

J Vandeshine: YES!! More hair vids like old Leighann lol

Shayna Rose: GORGEOUS!!! GREAT tutorial!!!

Ashley Neuman: Yes please do a curling one!

Natalie Scifres: You can totally curl your hair with the Revlon dryer! Wrap your hair around the brush a few times and pull it through and it gives you the most perfect loose curls.

Celine E: Love this!! I use a lot of similar products and similar techniques too. (You’re my people!) I’d love to see how you curl your hair ❤️✌

Mariah B: yes please your curly/wavy hair tutorial is needed!!

Therese Sims: I would love to see more hair videos from you.

Lily Martinez: Oh my god Leighann I owe you a million thank you’s. I have seen so many reviews on the revlon one step styler whatever it is but I still wasn’t sold. But when you said you returned the dyson after buying this one I bought it. My hair has never looked so good after blow drying!!!!! So thank you for sharing your hair tutorial and completely changing my life.

Michelle Ferguson Sewell: I'm so glad I watched this video. I love curtain bangs but I can't get them to sit right. I have the Revlon dryer and I've never used it like you. After rough drying, I section it off and dry each section. Next time I dry my hair I'm doing it your way!!!

Amber: I know this type of video probably isn’t for everyone but I loved it! That big heat brush looks great, will definitely have to try it

angel sherry: omg luv this video would love more hair videos you explain it very well

Araceli Torres: I bought the blow dry brush from Sally's from the brand hot tools and it is exactly like the Revlon brush. My cousin used it and fell in love with it so I gave it to her then I bought it again because I couldn't live without it anymore. I bought the one from Revlon this time and it is exactly the same. I totally recommend it to anyone with medium long or shoulder length hair. I do my hair in less than 15 minutes now and I have natural wavy hair.

Sarah Kerr: I always love your hair tutorials! That’s how I first found you!! Princess bun!

Jaime R: Yes I would love to see how you do your waves too! Thank you for the bang tutorial!

Shannon Perez: as someone with curly hair, i also really enjoy the revlon blow dryer when i want to blow it out:)

Julianne Rogers: I have the Revlon dryer brush and loved it, but I stopped using it because of how hot it gets, I was afraid that over time it would damage my hair. If I used the lower heat setting, it just took way too long to dry. Your hair looks amazing

Jennifer Conley: I love you hair style! I’m a hairdresser and yes the Oribe is amazing! I don’t know if you have ever tried the Big Sexy Hair Powder Play & Texturizing Powder, but a TINY amount (and they have a lite version that I like better for myself, because I only blow out my hair like 2 maybe 3 times a week) and it will hold and give amazing volume that lasts! If you haven’t, I highly recommend it! I’ll usually use it in day 2 or 3 because it can also help absorb the natural hair oils (for us girls that don’t wash it every day but want it to look good & fresh everyday lol)! Great video ❤️❤️

Whitney Turner: me: Blowdries hair like once a month on "special occasions".. also me: watches video about blow drying hair...Would watch Leighann do laundry tbh. I just like hanging out with her. :)

Courtney Chedester: Yes curly/wavy tutorial please!!

Megan Morrison: I am also a huge fan of texture spray and am always trying to find a dupe for Oribe. The best one, by far I've found was at target and it's like $7. SGX NYC The Do-It-All 3-in-1 Dry Texture Spray

twinklybones: I’ve been wanting shorter curtain bangs and this is just encouraging me but I have shoulder length blonde hair and idk if it’ll give me Brigitte Bardot vibes or like.. an outdated suburban look

Kimi Norman: You're hair is nice styled like this! I would definitely like to see a video on how you curl and style your hair when you curl it. My hair does not cooperate at all so I end up pulling it back.

Crystal Q: I love this video...yes more please!

Holly Jamison: You are definitely not the generic version! Just a different brand, but still top quality

lee berry: yes please give us a video of how you curl/wave your hair!!! <3

Hannah Wolf: Yes! Video on how you do your curls/waves!

Paige S: I feel like your hair got SO LONG & SO THICK during wedding prep. I need your secrets! ❤️

kelly G: Yay! Love this video ! Does your blow dryer have a light, medium, high temp setting? What temperature do you use?!

Joanna Solano: Yes to more hair tutorials!!

Sarah Allred: Never have I heard truer words, “ I will spend time on my makeup, but not my hair.” Yass girl!

Sarah Allred: Never have I heard truer words, “ I will spend time on my makeup, but not my hair.” Yass girl!

Kathy Finley: I am so trying the 70 bangs for church on Sunday. Thanks!

Kelsey S: I can't even begin to explain how many of those round brushes I got stuck in my hair as a child.... I still have a fear of them

lizabeth_j_: I would love to see how you keep your hair looking good on the days between washes. I start to go crazy if I don’t wash it even one day. And then IF (big if) I work out I have to wash it... teach me your ways lol

Erin: Just got curtain bangs yesterday and didn’t know how to blow dry them THANK YOU

Hannah Lazio: does anybody see a difference in curling your bangs and drying your bangs with a round brush? what are the pros and cons of each?

Avalon Cakes: Yes girl pleaseeee on the waves! Loving all your videos!

Maggie Meyers MUA: Your dress is so cute! Gonna try this hair look

Carle Winnie: Googled how to style curtain bangs and found you! Definitely following you’re the cutest!

NurseTre Hammy: I recommend the Kenra dry texture spray. But you know what is even better? The Generic one at Sally’s. It smells way better-like cotton candy-and is grittier and holds. Highly recommend!

Yvonne D: Aww man, I had that Revlon dryer but returned it! I already have straight hair and felt it just made my hair too sleek and straight. Now that I've seen your tips on how you use it, I kinda want it back lol. I think I got frustrated with it cuz its suppose to be an all in one quick tool and I felt like it took me longer than a standard blow dryer and round brush.

Joy Wind: Great video! Would love an eye tutorial.

Brooke Williams: I’m the opposite! I used to blow dry my bangs and I hated them but now I let them air dry and I love them hahaha

Cindy D: I love this Revlon dryer. I have shoulder length hair and no bangs.

Laura Odero: every time you cut your bangs it makes me want them, too. I DON’T HAVE THE FACE FOR THEM, LEIGHANN Love you

Tammie Herron: ❤️ would love to see the wave process

Kayla Messer: Avada has a really good powder that you sprinkle in the crown and it gives excellent volume!! I found out about it through harmonize beauty...a fellow YouTuber

Brooke Flowers: Love your videos Leighann!! I’ve been watching since you started on YouTube! I was wondering if you could do a review on the new Nair Leg Mask 3 in 1!

yvieyvette: Love seeing your videos pop up!!!

lesliethiel: I graduated in 1981. God....the years I spent perfecting the perfect bangs and Farrah feathers. I cringe at my old pictures. But somehow you're making it look cool again. (I have curly hair. It took me over an hour to get ready just to go to high school. LOLOL)

Anna C: Oh yes,,,,,,,,I remember the waffle iron for your hair!!!!!! You ALWAYS look FABULOUS (I'm sure Grant would agree!!!!!) I would Love to see your curling hair video!!!!!! Much Love from FL

April Bendall Woods: I love my Revlon dryer. It’s changed my life.

Shannon McBroom: Hilary Duff just got those 70s bangs and I am seriously living for them on you both!

Mary Buck: Ugh. LeighAnn! This is two days late to save me! I actually showed a million pics of your hair to my stylist Wed (who normally gets me) and she totally FAILED. I have a 90’s newscaster bubble. Way too many layers around the face. Ruining my whole mood. I NEVER complain about her cuts, but I think I gotta ask her to fix it somehow. Wish me luck!

Kate Davis: Love love love your hair and this video! Also love this necklace combo you have been wearing lately! Any deets on them and where to find?

Jayne M: Love the revlon dryer!

Thomas M: You shine so bright and bangs are in but your looking very fine❤️❤️❤️❤️

KKO: Kristin Ess is a great dupe for Oribe! Could you link your necklaces please, I love the square pendant because it looks vintage.

jenniferlc75: Beautiful

Destiny Marie: Have you done like a wavy/your everyday tutorial? If not, I would love to see one! :)
