My name is Lucy, I'm a Dutchwoman here to offer an alternative approach to beauty.

On this channel I do mostly hair tutorials where I show you how to braid, pin and style your own hair. I recreate hairstyles from movies, tv shows or history and I regularly come up with my own, which I love to share with you!

I really enjoy diving into history to find out how women went about their beauty and dressing rituals in days past. Vintage and history-themed videos are my little passion project.

You'll find a bit of lifestyle content here as well, ranging from cozy chats over a cup of tea (my beloved Tea Time videos) to personal vlogs and home & interior videos.

Hey guys, it has been a while. Well, let's you it hasn't, but it has been over a month now. I think, since I last recorded video, I have been away on holiday and everything that has been going up has been pre-recorded really excited. But I thought I would just kind of ease back into filming with a bit of a more chatty video and talk about bags. With you guys, because some of you have noticed something that has been going on here and yes, I have actually been growing out my bangs and since its kind of a silent agreement between you and me, I will discuss changes in my hair with you guys. I got basically the videos also. I got some new glasses, as you can see now absolutely love these. They are from Z, lucam, and this video is actually sponsored by them. So I will talk a little bit more about this frame and another pair, which may just be the coolest pair of glasses. I'Ve ever had at the end of this video, so stay tuned for that, but first the bags. So, basically, I have decided to grow them up kind of on a whim. I went away basically camping trips, you know being out in nature and just being out and about with my family and friends, meant that I wouldn't really have the time to trim my bangs and especially in summer my hair tends to grow a little bit faster and I need to trim my bangs a little bit more often than I normally do, and I knew I wouldn't really have time for that. So I decided to just gon na start growing them out so that I could maybe sweep them to the side or, behind my ear, a little easier putting them behind my ear was very ambitious cuz I nowhere near at that length yet but yeah as you can Tell my bangs are quite long. They are well below my eyes now it is going pretty fast. I think this is about a month and a half of growth, but basically I have been wanting to try out curtain bags for a really long time. Curtain. Banks are the style where your bangs gon na split in the center, and then they go like that kind of like Brigitte Bardot style, and you guys know how I feel about her. She / doin her hair. She was my ex's file icon. I feel wondering how curtain banks would look on me for a while I've had bangs for three or four years now it's been a long time and back when I first cut them in that iconic video, which for some reason got like 12 million views. I will never understand that, but anyways in that video I talked about making videos about crowing out bangs and the process, and things like that, and I never did it so. I thought why not now I am going to be growing out my bangs into curtain bangs. First and I will see what happens after I do think I want to keep some kind of face framing stuff going on, because I do like that. Look on me. It is not that hard for me to grow up my bangs since I have very thin kind of wispy bangs. My bangs are just this tiny little piece of hair. I have a few videos on how you can hide bangs that work with shorter bangs as well, but what I have been doing with these it's basically just when you're seeing here I have been wearing my hair as side bangs. If you've seen my how to cut your own bangs videos that you might know that I cut my bangs in like two triangles, so there's a smaller triangle, which is kind of like the body of my bags. So this hair right here and then there is a larger triangle surrounding that which also has these kind of slight framing pieces. I guess that are a little bit longer on the sides, so I have been just parting, my hair on one side right between the larger triangle and the smaller ones, and then I've just kind of been parting. My hair right above that so that it looks kind of natural - I guess, and my biggest advantage when it comes to this - is that my bangs want to grow in that direction anyway and always have to force them kind of towards the center. So now I can just let them do their thing and I do really like the look of them. I like how they still kind of frame my face a little bit, but when I'm not feeling the whole side bang situation, I have a few quick and super simple hairstyles that I do for a hairstyle to be kind of applicable for me and then a life. It needs to be super quick and simple. So, honestly, what I just do is, I will take this hair now twist it back and then take a hair, pin and just worried like this, and I will either just do one side or do the other side as well and I'll just worried like this, which Is kind of like a nice half up to you keeps your hair. If your face type of thing, I showed this hairstyle in one of my recent hair tutorials. I believe it was the one where I showed you how to wear the hair clip trend. So I will take some of these nicer hair pins and slide them in pretty much over the arch of my eyebrow. So this is a look that I will sometimes go for really, quick and simple to you again takes just a few seconds. Sometimes I will try and force them into that kind of curtain, bang shape already. So let me just take my glasses off for that. I want to do that. I will just lick my hair down the center. Take my bends and the side framing bits and I will take a straightening iron and I will kind of force my bags in that direction. But, as you can see, my bangs really don't want to go in the opposite direction. These do so. I think I hope this will work a little bit better when my hair gets a bit longer and there's a bit more weight to it, but something that works great, of course, is hairspray. You can always use a bit of hairspray to make the hair stay where you want it to so, for that I'll, just kind of hold them to the side. Well, I spray them with, ah straight in my life. Well, that's pretty Wow great job! Oh my god! As you can see, I haven't quite gotten the swing of this whole curtain. Bang thing yet, but I will get there once I do I'll make a tutorial video. I guess I do also plan on cutting my hair a little bit more so that it suits that whole curtain bang thing again, so I will try and make it taper like that - probably pass out a little bit more hair for that. This is kind of what I have been doing so far to make my bangs look all right, while they're growing out, I think for now I'm just gon na give up on that curtain bangs and just go back to your side. Bangs again. Alright, let me put my glasses back on, in fact, I think now might be a good time to talk about these Furby. So, like I mentioned, these glasses are from zlil. I have a little case from them here and they are an online glasses shop. You guys know I love buying my glasses online because they are just so much cheaper zlil offers glasses at amazing prices, and what I really love about this brand in particular, is that they offer some really really unique frames, usually quite elaborate. Unique-Looking out, their frames are pretty expensive. These are super affordable and they have the most amazing glasses frames that I have never seen anywhere else before. First frame I have from them is this one? It'S rose, gold cat eye shape with a little bit of black here on top, which is just perfect for me, and this is an extremely light frame as well. I believe it's just a little bit over six grams, which is insane. This has definitely become one of my go-to everyday pair since I've had it, but let me show you the other pair, which is a little bit less suitable for everyday wear. If you ask me, but so cool, so you need gon na absolutely love this there. You go, oh my god. It is so weird and I absolutely love it. I love how it has the like. Is it a hexagon one, two, three, four five: six seven sector. It has two little hands holding on to the actual glass and then the part that rests on your nose is pearls, and it is absolutely outrageous - and I absolutely both of these came with blue light filters. So I much as officially dubbed these my computer glasses from now on definitely be sure to check out, see local cop if you're, looking for some unique glasses or for just some more neutral frames as well at a crib price, I will have links to the glasses And a little discount coupon code referral thingy for you in the description box, but I think that is it for this video guys. So I really hope you enjoy this little bang chatt, I guess fringe chat, maybe sounds a little bit better, just a casual little video to get back into my filming routines. So, thank you so much for watching guys if you did enjoy, don't forget to give any thumbs up and subscribe to my channel for loads, more beauty and lifestyle content. There is another video here that I think you might also enjoy. You can go watch next. Thank you for watching and I'll see you very soon in my next video

ritsu sakuma's left eyeball: I'm growing out my bangs too, I was getting too much acne

Emily Swift: I cut my bangs 1 month ago and that was the worst decision I've ever done

Heather Anne: The glasses are fantastic, very flattering . Growing out bangs is slightly torturous, but I've trained my hair into a new part many times - try pinning them (your bangs) into place when they are wet/damp and sleeping with them that way. Good luck

Lily of the valley: I've been watching you since I was 15 and I'm 24 now. I feel like I grew up with you in a way haha. I too am growing my bangs but I got curtain bangs and they're slightly longer than chin length I want to grow them to my collarbones.

nocomfort: Got bangs because of you, best decision of my life ❤️

Maddie D: Just got bangs a month ago after being inspired youcan’t believe you’re growing them!! Curtain bangs will be SO cute!

lotusflowerbombb: Growing mine out as well, it is painful I keep wanting to cut them again! Your glasses are so lovely on you :)

Jennifer Grove: I've had bangs since like 2007 and it was like the best hair decision of my life! But I always went to the hairdresser to get them trimmed. I was finally fed up with the cost. (Only $6 for a bang trim, but the fact that you have to do it a lot more frequently than regular trims made me feel like it was getting expensive!) So I looked up videos on how to trim bangs, and that's how I got to know your channel, I think like 4ish maybe 5 years ago? It was something like a couple weeks after you uploaded it. (The how to "trim" your bangs, not the actual cutting of bangs video.) So this is kind of sad for me, but you do you of course! Also miss your food videos too :(

Magdalena Z: I got the same bangs as you because I was cutting mine following your video, btw thank you so much for that because of you I got myself the best bangs I have ever had in my life that no hairdresser could ever do properly. ... But I get curtain bags everytime I just run my fingers through my hair and that's it:)

Lily Wojciechowski: Love the bang growing out journey! I had bangs for about 6 years and then switched to curtain bangs about a year ago!

Iris L: I have been growing out my bangs too! So excited about that tutorial. I'll be looking forward to seeing it.

Emily: Weird, I've been going through this exact bangs to curtain bangs transition myself, though mine wasn't intentional. I got sick of trimming it so started pushing my fringe to the sides, and eventually I realised it looked kinda nice parted like that, so I've been growing them intentionally since :P

Army💫BTS💜: Thank you very much Seeing too many videos on youtube actually confused me about what to do to trim my bangs or not.... But seriously after seeing your video it was like yes i can do it! And the comments here were like my bangs grown out to be good And now I can say I cut my bangs and its really looking gorgeous

Skylar Beaucage: Pinning your bangs to the sides for a few minutes helps shape them! So if you pin them to the sides it should help them stay parted out.

moon: I have been wanting to try out curtain bangs since a long time and I'm also letting my bangs grow bc I've had them since 2017 and I'm kinda done. (2019) Edit: i finally had curtain bangs in 2020, absolutely love it!

dgirllamius: I'm currently growing my fringe out. It's down to about my nose now. It's now at the point where I can get away with a middle part and still have them side swept. It's taken about a year to get them there as I'd keep trimming them xD

Dana Reimer: I've had bangs literally my entire life because I have a giant forehead. I'd live to try curtain bangs! Love your channel Lucy!

mce1939: You look beautiful no matter what, but I think you look so much better without bangs. I like seeing your glasses, then the space between your glasses and hairline free of bangs. I am excited to see how your curtain bangs turn out. I think you will rock them and look great regardless. Love seeing your hair journeys!

Veronica W.: I've been too lazy to cut my bangs recently so this video is super helpful. Also the sound of the cars in the background is so relaxing. I love your videos, thank you for continuing to film

Byz: I honestly wanted to cut bangs for such a long time, seeing your video inspired me to actually do it. After over a year with bangs (I really always loved them), the only major issues for me was that they go thicker over time and also that my forehead sweats very easily and that dainty look gets destroyed so quickly and I ended up looking horrible. Either I looked fabulous or just greasy and untidy. So I'm stuck here indecisive. Maybe I'll try curtain bangs as well. It's just hair after all.

Meadowbird: I think curtain bangs will suit you so well! The side swept fringe also suits you beautifully.

Sum Lui: Hi Lucy~ Can you share some tips of not being awkward in front of camera? I've been trying to make video for almost 3 months, and talking naturally was a huge challenge for me Thank you so much xoxo

Edith González: Hi there! I am also growing out my bangs into more of a curtain. I have thin hair so I have found that blow drying them in a back and forth motion with a heat resistant comb works well. Something with smaller teeth so it’ll have more tension. It will create a nice bevel on the temples and leaves volume. It’s kinda an annoying daily ritual but it helps during the in between period.

amber husband: I officially began parting my bangs! I know such a huge milestone lol

Akechi Mitsuhide: I started growing them out in January and by now they can be put in braids or a high bun without five billion extra bobby pins. And still can be curled to make them short enough for Regency styles. At the first stage I just blow dried them backwards and they stayed relatively well. Also, headbands.

ItsThatJo: those heptagon glasses are absolutely outrageous but you rock them so well omg you look lovely with your hair like this, lucy, but i definitely think the curtain bangs will you suit well <3

E ALE: I needed this video in the worst way lol it’s such a pain to grow them out glasses look great btw!

Rebecca: I've been growing mine out so this is super helpful!!

Ashley Miranda: Your hair always looks so perfect ❤ #hairgoals

Elaine Gumenyuk: I’ve had bangs for about 2 years and I thought now should be the time to start growing them out. I wish I thought of this in the beginning of quarantine, but here I am, starting the process at the end

Olive Grove: I think for the curtain bangs you need to start out with your fringe going down onto your face like it would naturally if it were shorter, rather than towards the sides with your parting. Once your fringe is set in that down position, then use the straightener like you did here to curve it outwards. You've honestly skipped the awkward bang length, your hair looks amazing right now even after playing with it. I seriously can't wait to see you with the curtain bangs and more BB looks, you've inspired me to try it on myself

the account: I just got bangsss hope your doing well btw you look gorgeous ❤❤

Salomé Guzman: This video read my mind! I cant stand mid growth stage because my hair curls like crazy if it’s not short. Im being held hostage by bangs

Mija Medic: You're incredibly gorgeous, with or without the bangs!

Stephanie Morey: I've been growing out my bangs, and my hair, for two years. I've been trying to figure out how to integrate them into the rest of my hair - with out cutting anything.

Jenny Vang: I'm growing my bangs too. Now that winter is coming I will be pretty much covering them with beanies and hats lol. Also, where can I get the hair pins? Thanks for this video and ideas of hairstyles . New subbie here!

Julie Kozlowski: LOVE the second pair of glasses! You should wear them out, people would ask you all the time where did you get those! So freakin cute and different love them!!!

nyanniachan: I love your hair in this video it suits you so well looks so elegant!

Artsy Pri: I'm growing my bangs to try curtain bangs just like you at the moment, perfect timing for this video

Iris Todorović: Do I have bangs? No Do I plan on getting bangs? No Am I watching the video? Yes

*Ariel*: I’m in the most awkward stage of growing out my bangs also ur so pretty and I love ur vids!

jflare3001: This is so helpful! I'm planning to start growing my bangs out! :o

Stefi Montiel: Got bangs because of you, best decision of my life for like a month

ithilaranel: just got my hair cut by a new hairdresser and it turned out so bad, my bangs are botched so this is perfect timing!

Fiona Lilly: currently growing out my bangs and LOSING MY MIND AHH it takes so long omg

anna zarras: I got bangs at 9 years old. Thick... blunt... bangs that went above my eyebrows. I started growing them out about two years after I got them and after 1 year after growing them out they were at my chin. I wanted them to grow faster so I trimmed them a little bit. My hair is medium length and my bangs won’t go in my ponytail I regret them 1000000% also when u had them they loooked very unflattering on me

Lady_Kellogs: I first discovered you when I wanted to cut my own bangs. I went on YouTube and searched "how to cut your own bangs" and your vide pop up. Ever since I been been obsessed with your videos and style.

stephyglot: It's the end of an era, but you would look good with any style!

Samdamaam Spangler: Love that your going to be doing curtain bangs. I just cut mine.

Jade Rawkins: I'm growing out my fringe (bangs) too

greekgodedess: I was in the middle of growing out my bangs as well - but my boyfriend loves them too much so I'm keeping them haha.

AkaNova: Please make survival styling tutorials for growing out bangs. My biggest enemy was always drying them right.

La Sphynge: Grew out my bangs for the last year or so, it's still shorter than the rest of my hair, but now it almost looks like a little gradient on the front. I had to find lots of tricks to keep them out of my eyes when they still couldn't be tucked behind my ears or be left hanging without looking awkward. Hair pins obviously, but since I keep losing/forgetting them, I've come up with a DIY solution where I grab the hair from my bangs + a bit of longer hair behind them and make a tiny braid pointing to the back (or slightly to the side if I have a side part) of my head. I braid until the braid gets really tiny and there's barely much hair left in each strand, and then I just tease the end a little bit. If I have a bit of string/ribbon at hand, I'll use it to tie that off instead (if it's long enough I might even incorporate it IN the braid itself, with one of the 3 strands, for a decorative effect). Different lengths of hair stick out of the braid here and there, it looks a little messy and wild, which works with my style. This has become my go-to when I need to get my hair out of my face but I don't have any actual hair tools at hand to secure it.

BookNeko: My bangs are currently way too long (they are by my chin when they are suppose to be much shorter) and are side swept bangs I've had for years (probably close to six years) and I have been wanting to try something different but I didn't want straight across bangs since I have curly hair and I am worried it will make me look too young (I already get mistaken for being younger then I am) and because of this I am thinking curtain bangs would be a good thing to try.

Molly Fitzpatrick: just me whose here because they cut bangs in quarantine..?

Rachel Stirling: Nooooo!!!!! I understand why, though. You will look amazing with curtain bangs!

Ana Raquel Novoa: It looks gorgeous on you

allison groves: So covid made me give up hair dye and embraced my silver highlights. And now I have decided my fringe ( bangs) which I may have had the other size of 20 years.... How the hell did that happen oh yeah once you have them they are a pain in the butt to grow out. But now Its enough time to embrace the biotin and hair grips

TONI DUPONT-MORA: This is my first time visiting your channel. You are very pretty. I love your vouce. I am ready for a change I have had bangs for many years. I’m letting them grow out. They are hanging down into my eyes currently, and driving me crazy! My daughter did buy me some hair pins.!I should try pinning my hair back with those tomorrow.

Pranshu: You look soo soo soo damn pretty in red lipstick❤

weehoohaha: For some reason my bangs grew like crazy once I got them cut

Alejandra Hernandez: Should I slightly trim (very very) my bangs to avoid split ends while growing them out? Please help!

Rosie Penfold: Just got my bangs an regretted it ever since any one got any tips to grow them out fast any advice taken

Chocolate Perfume: NOOOOO!!! Don't do it! They suit u soooo well!! I've honestly never seen anyone rocking bangs as good as u do!

werelemur1138: You're adorkable! I'm keeping my bangs to hide my fivehead. ;)

Yoryor Aldaoud: I’m growing them up too but I’m suffering to keep them away from my face

mnossy11: I know this is slightly off topic, but after watching many of your beauty beacon videos, I MUST know, where did you get your hair extensions? They match your hair perfectly. I’d like some, but I have no idea where to look.

Kacey Pagano: @loepsie I am trying to grow out curtain bangs that are at my chin down to my shoulders. How long will this take?

E: I got bangs, hopefully it slightly grows in a week cuz I want to style it in a way I saw in a picture, my bangs go slightly below my eyebrow

Senka Lemez: I cut my bangs 2 months ago and I loved them so much, but then I had to trim them at a different persons salon and since then they are horrible and I need them gone

Cynthia Basso: you are one of the few ppl that look great in glasses!

Briseis Robinson: I have hella long hair and I had a mental breakdown so I gave myself bangs and I regret it so much, I cut them two days ago and am already tryna grow them out

Elli Yo: I haven't had bangs in years. mostly bc I shaved my head and had short hair. but I really want them again! my hair is wavy/curly though, does that still work?

Ann McCoy: Curtain bangs! Ba hum bug. Everyone has them, I dont like them. Dare to be different! I LOVED THE WAY YOU CUT THEM INITIALLY. Oh well, your hair

Ashley Miranda: I'm doing the exact same thing ヽ(。◕o◕。)ノ.

Sarah Domagala: Blow dry the bangs slightly in the opposite direction

Worldwide Handsome: This doesn't include the video but you are really pretty and gorgeous!

U E: Bangs look gorgeous but if your hair isn't naturally straight, they are a pain!!

Riji Jiao: Love your video though I don't bangs. Love your eyeglasses. Match you greatly.

rika likes balls: i don’t hate my bangs, but i’m getting bored of them? i’ve had bangs for 5 months and there just boring now. i need to grow them out fast any tips ?

Milou: I’ve had bangs my whole life and I suddenly just wanted to grow them out idk

Dia N: i find that straight across bangs are not super glasses friendly. ontop of that i have somewhat oily skin so at the end of the day, the bangs look clumped together and a little not so cute.

jennifer lee: Does anyone know good products for frizzy straw hair bc I dyed and bleached mine and I hate it

Pauline De Wilde: I’m growing out my bangs to xx

Dulce Porneso: i cut my bangs a bit to short i was just trying to trim them-

bethviolet lines: I regret getting bangs so bad omg-

Kavya Pawar: Im also growing my bangs because im too busy to trim em lol

otkud_ja: OH SHIT!!! You look exactly the same as Turkish actress Pelin Karahan! It's unbelievable

Blanca Lilia: did you get them with cryzal lenses or regular ones? they look blueish.

bumchucket: For curtains try a Velcro roller thingy

Pavithra Roopesh: actually i needed a help. how long will it take to grow 1 inch of bangs?plzzz answer. coz i didnt get the ans even in the google.
