SUBS 100168

If you struggle to get curly hair to work, this video is for you today, i'm going through the best kind of curly hair for each of the body types and go through what kind of styles shapes and cuts would work for you. My name is ellie jean. I'M a personal stylist and on this channel we use body types to elevate our personal style and end the war with our wardrobes. The first thing to say is that some types do find it easier to wear curly, hair than others, most notably the more yin types. So yin body types are small, delicate and rounded words which we could very easily use to describe curly hair. So those types are going to find it easier to wear curly hair. But but this isn't to say that the other types can never have curly hair or even look worse in curly hair than straight hair. It all depends on the size and shape of those curls. So, let's start with dramatics dramatics may find curly hair quite hard, as their overall body shape is elongated straight narrow words, which we wouldn't necessarily use to describe. Curly, hair, curly, hair and dramatics look best when it's elongated and when it's not cut. So if you took each ringlet of hair, if you looked at the edges of it, it would kind of be straight and narrow, like if you look at taylor, swift's curls um, not her debut curls but say her fearless curls. These look very harmonious with taylor, and it seems to make a lot of sense for her and it's because, if you take each strand of those curls, it would be this kind of straight narrow shape and the overall shape of her hair is not rounded. If you actually did an outline of her hair, it would be kind of long and straight rather than short and rounded, which would look really off on taylor, and this applies for all dramatics. Another thing that a lot of dramatics do because dramatics can look really good in sharp short kind of hairstyles, especially if they have some green essence. So those kind of hairstyles are going to look great as well. If you have curly hair, if you keep the style, the actual outline of the hair, very sharp and geometric, but in general, if the curls are too messy, so there's lots of flyaway hairs or the shape of the curls. Is this sort of rounded sort of shape? It'S going to look slightly less harmonious with you and it could end up creating a more disheveled effect. So, if you're into like boho styles, this might work for you. But if you wanted to look your most elegant and timelessly feminine, keep the overall shape and cut of the hair. Elongated straight and narrow. Soft dramatic can look amazing in curls, as they have a very strong yin undercurrent, but the overall shape of curls for soft dramatic. Rather than being narrow, or rather than being little is going to be large and round when they have curls it's going to be. You want the hair to be long, but rather than taking each strand of hair like you would dramatics and want the outlines to be absolutely straight with just like curls on the inside soft dramatics. You want the oval shape of your hair. If you were to do an outline to be this large, rounded shape kind of kind of like that, nothing too little. Nothing too fussy. Just these very glamorous long, curls, flamboyant naturals can look amazing with curly hair, for example, sarah jessica parker, julia roberts, tracy ellis ross. All look amazing, with very wild untamed kind of curls, so very neat, glamorous curls aren't going to look that amazing on a flamboyant natural. It'S going to fall a little bit flat, whereas curls with lots of flyaways that, like slightly back combed, 80s kind of curls, are going to look absolutely amazing on a flamboyant natural and again. If we look at the outline, flamboyant naturals bone structure is blunt and elongated. So that's kind of what we're looking for with the hair, so kind of squarish shapes, but not little and boxy and compact. That'S not gon na work, but kind of wild and free is going to look so good on a flamboyant natural and the same advice applies for flamboyant naturals as for dramatics, in a sense that very rounded and soft hairstyles aren't going to look that great similar advice Applies to soft naturals except the curls can be a little bit more glamorous soft naturals. Being a blunt body. Type can look really amazing, with kind of flyaway hair, just like flamboyant naturals, and this can look very glamorous and very sexy. Very timelessly, feminine in general kind of mid-length hair, is gon na look really good on a soft natural if they're having curls nothing too small and tight like ringlets, which is too neat in general. Quite fly away is gon na look really good or kind of large round. Curls like soft dramatics, but with a slightly shorter cut and layers, can look really good as well lots of layering to create this unruly, but kind of glamorous kind of feel classics. I would say are the type which struggle with curly hair the most because one flyaway hair and a classic looks a bit of a mess. I am kind of demonstrating this a little today. My curls at the front of my hair have dropped and it already looks slightly flat on me and it doesn't have that same vavavoom, that a very neat and rounded curl is going to have. Let'S focus on dramatic classics, i see the same haircut amongst them again and again and again, and it's this bob with kind of their hair straight most of the way, but with some curls at the bottom. So dramatic classics, look very good in tamed curls. That doesn't mean they should avoid curls altogether, but keeping the hair relatively short seems to be a pretty good way forward, with the curls not being fly away, the curls not being too small, not being too large as to overpower their balance. Soft classics, i think, can have the hair a little bit longer, actually as it's the sharpness that works really well for dramatic classics. Honoring, that's like yang undercurrent, which has this kind of short sharp bob looks really good on them, whereas soft classics, their hair being a little bit longer, looks really good in general. If you naturally have very small tight curls like denae benton, the overall shape of the hair just should be quite neat, so the outline of your hair can be kind of circular, with no flyaways everything quite silky. I would kind of say - and this applies to all women soft round - delicate curls, which are pretty set kind of like old hollywood. Styles are not going to look old-fashioned on you, they're going to look very elegant and very mature. Flamboyant means look best when there's a lot of movement in the hair, so flamboyant means look really good with sharp short pixie cuts. That'S one of the styles. They look really good in. I also see a lot of flamboyant means actually like penelope cruz, with quite long hair. Also zoe deschanel also jennifer love hewitt. They they tend to have quite long hair. Actually, it's definitely something that a lot of flamboyant means can get away with, but i think it tends to look very heavy on them and it works best for flamboyant means with romantic essence. So if you are going to have long hair, as a flamboyant mean your curls are going to be better honored. If you have lots of layers and this very choppy look, which kind of creates the look of having short hair. Even if you want to keep longer hair so generally, curls can be quite messy. Like flamboyant naturals lots of tussling lots of movement, nothing too neat lots of layers. You can have a lot of fun with your hair as a flamboyant i mean, and it's going to look really cute on you. Sofka means slightly longer hair. I would say again, like a bob is going to look quite cute on a soft green. Similar kind of rules apply less layers, but layers can look really cute, but not as choppy and sharp as flamboyance means. So your curls can be again quite sharp. They can be big, nothing too small and tiny, like very small ringlets, because this is going to still be too little for your sharp yang influence and your bone structure. So that's where the movement comes in and that looks really good. You can look amazing in glamorous curls, nothing too long again, because that will contrast with the petite in your silhouette and that will kind of overpower you just below shoulder length and above it's gon na. Look amazing and you can go all the way to not a full short pixie cut. I mean you can do that, but it's gon na look very elegant. If you have kind of hair like here like audrey tattoo, that's gon na look so elegant, so sexy, the actual romantic hair kiwi is described as very glamorous and kind of long. So he's described one of the haircuts of reese witherspoon as a theatrical romantic hair. Even though she's soft mean so, he described it as a theatrical romantic hairstyle. The difference between theatrical romantic hair and soft green hair is the actual. Romantic hair looks more elegant and more timeless when it's long and when the curls are slightly large and very set. Very very neat, glamorous kind of curls - i think selena gomez does this particularly well having that long flowing kind of mermaid hair, but which is curled very silky, very soft. I also think that theatrical romantics look really good in a side part better than a middle part. I think a middle part can look slightly harsh on them, whereas side part creates this very glamorous rounded feel around here, which can look amazing, mila kunis also. Does this whole hair shape very, very well, and if you wanted to have shorter hair as a theatrical romantic like jada, pinkett smith, she has one haircut which looks really really good when it's short and it's because the curls are very neat very glamorous and i kind Of draped over her face here, so the oval vibe of the theatrical romantic hair of it being kind of long soft glamorous, even though it's not actually technically long haircut like i've said before romantics. Look amazing in the marilyn monroe haircut so kind of short, very soft, rounded little delicate curls, but romantics can take tight little tiny spiral curls better than any of the types. Unless you create what i described at the beginning, which is this long straight narrow curl, which has ringlets on the inside, but the overall shape of the hair is kind of long and straight - that's not going to look the most elegant and timeless on a romantic. That'S because it completely contrasts with their soft, rounded shapes, so the overall outline of the hair should be quite round and soft, so the shape of the hair can look very circular, as a romantic kiwi again really suggests neat glamorous curls for romantic, but i also think You can look very elegant in slightly more unruly curls, like helena, bonham carter wears or even like elizabeth taylor, slightly not overly large, but medium-sized curls, which aren't totally set and totally neat a few flyaways can look quite elegant and glamorous as well. So, in summary, basically, the outline of your hair should echo the outline of your bone structure. So if you have a long and narrow bone structure, your curls should be in long and narrow shapes. If you have a short little rounded bone structure, the outline of your hair should be soft, rounded, delicate and little and circular does that make sense. I hope that makes sense. ALU GAME: Girl we need a seasonal palette video

Barbie Mas: I cannot express how much I appreciate this video. For years I’ve been trying to make my curly hair work for me without looking off or completely out of sync with the rest of my body or style. You can’t change your curl pattern but I’ll definitely look into getting a haircut soon (I’m a romantic). Thank you!

Filippa Skog: I’m pretty sure I’m theatrical romantic and can attest to this video being true for me at least. I LOVE. Like, I mean, LOOOOOVE big, wild looking curls. It’s just gorgeous. Princess Merida is hair goals in my mind. Oh the times I’ve tried to pull the wild look off… but it just looks extremely messy on me. Not in that powerful, ethereal sort of way, just plain “I curled my hair yesterday, partied all night and forgot to brush it this morning”. Very, very unflattering. Lush, long, soft, shiny curls look way better. Oh, and the side-part part is true too. Middle part looks a bit harsh, side-part looks pretty. Side bangs too!

Megha Singh: My kibbe journey has been weird. I went from Soft Classic to Soft Natural to finally land on Romantic by getting objective insight from my friend. Romantic just makes so much sense. I created this whole Katherine Pierce look from TVD with those amazing curls that she wears. That was one of the best looks I created for a party. It looked so right on me. I have long hair but the volume from the curls made me look phenomenal. So the curls she described for Romantic was perfect. Plus I have classic essence too, so clean wavy hair looks good on me too for a normal look

Lindsey Cruz: This literally came right on time because I’m gonna have my haircut tomorrow!! Ah thank you as always for a helpful video <3

Asia Barajas: This was super helpful, thank you! I have always struggled with my naturally curly hair and why the same thing looked so good on other people but so *messy* on me. As a soft classic, I'm kind of bummed, but now I see why. I now understand why my natural hair looks best when I put it up (tamed and rounded)

HeyItsMe T: I was born with curly hair & absolutely adore it! Love love love your channel!!!! I've learnt alot about my style & how to dress ❤ Happy Fourth of July!

Pumibel: Bless you for this! I am a dramatic with classic essence, but I have poufy, frizz-prone voluminous 2c/3a hair naturally lol. I hate working against my natural texture, but I find that the best way to style my curls is to smooth down the top and tame the ringlets a bit. I use a lot of product! A curly bob is one of my favorite looks.

Romy Padilla: Thank u so so much for this video! Could you continue the series "Making an effect" with how to look elegant or put together according to your body type and essence? That would be very helpful! I'm a theatrical romantic with ingenue essence and is hard for me to find clothes that make look like the adult I am, without looking too rigid or like a child trying someone else's clothes. You are the best!

Sunna Dis: How I adore this channel! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into your videos, it really shows

Giovanna Vignoni: I've never heard about this body types topic until I got one of your shorts and I have absolutely no idea in which type I fall lol Looks like I'm gonna have to do more research but as a curly girl I appreciate this video!

TheInspirefly: Very detailed video! I love how you break things down. How do these recommendations interact with the ethereal essence? I have very strong ethereal essence to the point where no kibbe recommendations ever looked quite right on me until I learned about ethereal, and then it fell into place. I have naturally wavy-slightly curly hair and would love to learn how to best showcase it

Crewel Perle: You don't waste any time, do you? I'm enjoying your remarkable and swift style analysis evolution. Merci!!

Sarah Graven: Don’t know if it has already been said, or I haven’t found the video yet, but a similar video for straight hair would be amazing! Loved this video!

Sierra King: Thank you so much for making this I love the way you talk about the types and the ways they can work with or against their style. This really helps me figure out what to do next with my curls.

trésbelle614: Giving a like before the video even starts! Thank you for addressing curly hair and the Body types. I just asked another Body Type content creator about this last month. They haven't given any real advice.

Sarah: Omg I am so excited for this as a curly haired girl. During the summer, straightening is just not an option

L: Im a FG with naturally wavy hair but I prefer to wear it straight (buzzed sides with a choppy crown & fringe). My frame is quite sharp and I feel like straight hair compliments it more—it also works better with my personal style. But in the past when I did wear my hair natural, it was in a short and spunky bob style, which I find works really well for FG’s.

Evoli Li: As a SC, I like to keep the hair straight on top with just a slight curl/ bend towards the ends

MikaJane: I have to say some of these suggestions for certain body types aren't practical for people who don't have wavy hair but are squarely in the curly or textured category. I do appreciate the concept of the overall shape. I'd recommend Frani Matthews or Merriam's videos if you are in those categories of 3B to textured hair.

ElisaP: I love your videos soooo much, congrats on 100k, you do deserve it! You upload just what is missing from youtube, and it's just what we need

Alexia VP: Great! I'm a soft gamine and I've noticed that with some soft and unstructures waves I might look better. I would love a similar video with straight haircuts.

prodigaldaughter96: Having natural curly hair and feeling like your curls don't match you is the worst feeling...

green apo: Thanks for this! Im thinking about making a perm for some time now and this video is sooo helpful

PR: Thank you ! I’m a soft dramatic and love wearing my hair how you described

WordsbyKira: This was so interesting, i love curly hair and since my hair is natural I know it fits me well lol. I think Im dramatic classic and have my curls in a Bob

Jocelyn Palmer: Dramatic here with 2C/3A curls--while I love the look of super long hair on other people, I don't love it on me. Either my curls are tangling from all those long strands smashing together or I look like Little Bo Peep who lost her sheep. Would you have any suggestions for short to medium length hairstyles? (Note: My essences, from what I can tell, are 55% dramatic, 35% ethereal, and 15% romantic. So... The look of a young Carol Kane, possibly?)

Vanny Crane: This make a lot of sense I have naturally straight hair, a little wave sometimes or made with a bun. The best straight haircuts for every bodytype is interesting, too

Christiana Strickland: Thank you for this! I have naturally curly hair and wasn’t sure how to make it work with my dramatic classic type!

monny1emano: omg I definitely need this video for wavy hair, I'm a soft classic and have no idea how to style it for my body type! lol

A: I love all your videos. I am a SD and curls just grow out of my head but not like the pictures you showed. I understand what you said and for years my hair didn't and doesn't match my body so many bad haircuts. Thank you for this video it really helps but I need a few more pictures for the SD look please

Maura Fuentes: Thank you for making this! I’ve been looking this type of content

Megha Singh: Can you please do that creating an effect series like the edgy vibe video??? Please. Plus find new television characters with certain body types and help us find inspiration and tips from their wardrobe to apply on us.. like Hope Mikaelson, I think she is a romantic, the actress

Claudia Téllez: I wish you would've talk a bit more about classics, I'm a dramatic classic and I've been straightened my hair for years but now I want to be able to wear my natural hair without feeling like a mess and I'm finding this journey pretty hard. But thanks for the video anyways I'm glad you address the topic!

Agatha Redriver: Loved this video!!! ❤️ can you do makeup or wedding dresses for the body types? ✨

Gabriel Hanssens: I'm flamboyant natural (with what i believe to be some type of gamine essence) i love vintage fashion and for some reason whatever i do with my hair i either end up looking like a 70s rocker or like a glamorous 80s secretary, so i gave in and did a wet set based on a 1989 infomercial and i've never had so many genuine compliments on my hair some assumed it was my natural texture

Theresa Olguin: A helpful and informative video! Thank you.

Pianist Ansley: Hey! Love your videos and style. I am the most like a romantic body type, but I don’t have an hourglass figure. I’m more of a triangle, but I do have a slim waist. My top is just smaller than my bottom. Does this make since and if this is the only difference am I still the romantic body type? Thanks so much!!!

Slavujify: Oh my! Just in time, I've been thinking about curly hair for some time especially since my friends proposed the idea since my hair is curly-ish already

N N: Thank you for making this video and particularly including the part about Denée Benton!

Olive King: I’m a soft dramatic with a natural Fro that I just can’t get rid of! I can straighten my hair all the time and curl it i feel like you should go into more detail for natural haired girls

Bubble gummy: You won't believe it but just yesterday I was wondering if curls would suit me cuz I really like them but my natural hair is just straight with a bit of a wave. And here you are! Uploaded not even an hour ago! I'll probably make a good forecaster

Chiara Maria Inocencio: I prefer curls but i also look okay with straight hair but having straight is too troublesome since i am not inherently born with straight hair. Thanks for making me feel i made a good decision with my hair

megsgriffin: So I’ve struggled with this all my life ‍♀️ seeing a blonde straight hair mum I wanted it straight ‍♀️ but now as an adult I don’t know how to use it

Mist: Could you do hairstyles for the body types? I am a FN with really straight hair and would love to hear hairstyles that would look good on my type

Amy Sarai: THANK YOU DARLING FOR THIS VIDEO ♥️

Didi Aylin: Love your videos ! Would you say Victoria Pedretti is a Romantic type ? I've been wondering while watching Bly Manor and the 80s fashion and curly type of hair on her.

Klára Hagarová: Also long hair for the body types, please! (I am a SC and like long hair but also want to look somewhat neat.)

Rudy Antunes: Please please can you do the same for straight hair?

worthfightingfor: AHH YES I NEED THIS!!!! Thank you!!!

Carolina Helena: Great video! I think I am a Theatrical Romantic and a side part does look much better on me :)

Sian Lewis: Is coral lipstick your colour? Or might a rose-pink or warm pink work better? Love your channel and content!!

just me elenaaa: Just thought about this and boom, you posted this, thank youuu❤️

Sayantani Dutta: I am so confused with my body type... I have always been. I have a lot of sharpness in my face, protruded collar bone yet veryyyy curvy even when I lose weight with wide hips and big thighs. Body con dresses just don't seem too good on me since I have hip dips, jeans looks weird... I really have never felt very comfortable with anything I wear! Any help maybe

Alice Soundso: Im a classic or dramatic classic and my hair looks best when it is straightend.

Eli Ali: Vary useful! Thank you!

TheMeowizer: I loved the video On me TR curls look the best with the side part. With middle part i look like jesus. but i cannot be TR bc i am slander with no boobs and my limbs are quite long so IDK.

Tina: I have a hard time trying to find what kind of face am I haha, I have natural curly hair, just trying to find the best haircut for my face shape. Im the girl in my profile pic btw. Your channel is helping me a lot but I feel that I have a long way to learn

kamelle Benjamin: Can you make a video with haor styles like two strand twist, cornrows, individual braids, mini braid, thing like . I would really love if you do

k: Lol u just helped me figure whats best for me..thankyou❤

Claudia H: Totally agree with classics and curls are not going so good together I am a dramatic classic and I curl my hair more in a wavy way with straight ends. Too curly looks odd and I feel like am man with a curly wig

Halle Games: pov: you got naturally curly hair and can't make it work this video: lemme help you out

memorizedvisions: Unfortunately im a soft natural who wants to embrace the naturally curly hair that is in the small tight curls. :(

Caren Linn: Kibbe still baffles me. I am only 5'4" I am starting with Soft natural, but so unsure.

peggy syri: I'm R and I've noticed that a side part looks the most flattering. Maybe because it gives an old Hollywood touch even to casual outfits.

Heather Renee: Sending love ✨

Trish tells: Thank you for this video :) is there a reason why you always skip pure naturals? I think I am neither flamboyant nor soft natural best wishes!!

Ana Jankovic: I wish you used or have shown examples of ladies who have really curly hair, not wavy, for each of the IDs. Girls who have 3B - 4D curl pattern can hardly relate to the examples you have given.

Lules Segovia: love, could you make a video about tattoos for each type? I can't find anything about it):

Turanrocks: I was so excited for this video. As someone whose a soft dramatic with naturally tighter curls, I was hoping to get some insight. Nontheless, it was not so. I feel that, in general, she goes past soft dramatics quite quickly in all her videos. Wish she would've included soft dramatics from different ethnicities as she did with the dramatics.

Katie Brister: Love it!

Larissa Martins: I thought you were going to talk about natural curly hair, not the babyliss stuff.

AC AC291: Hmmm ive been leaving my hair naturally curly and i just dont feel myself...maybe i need styled curls?

J J: I can not figure out my type! I have high cheekbones, thin and arched eyebrows, a small but slightly rounded nose at the tip which looks sharp and straight from the side, a slightly oval face and a straight but not thin upper lip while the rest of my lips are rounded and full. I feel like I am a mix of everything and nothing really fits into one category. I have naturally curly hair which does not suit me at all, that's why I wear it short. But when I am trying on wigs I tend to like a straight bob or long loose waves on me. Can someone please give me a hint? People often tell me that I look like a completely different person depending on my hair length or makeup/clothes but that it also suits me.. so I feel like I am really a mix. Is that possible?

AstroBaby91: Wearing my natural curls makes me look heavier

Grimamie: I have 3b curls and a chubby long face.... Would short hair still suit me? D:

hello: I am natural curly 2c-3a hair, but I don’t my body type yet…

Casandra Hanson: I think im soft gamine, but my top and face is round and delicate, but my bottom hip area are elongated and more yang? How can you dress for a yin top with yang bottom?

Valerie Martinez: Can you do wedding dresses on different body types?

Nutzer165: Why you haven’t mention Zendaya? She has beautiful curls

Angel Flore: What would Fran Dresher be typed as ?

Jennifer Villezcas: So that's why middle parts make me look crazy.... (TR here)

Jazzy J: This video is good for non-black women, not so much for black women.

Casandra Hanson: I’ve heard soft gamines look like mermaids with long hair

Genia: Why Naturals category is always skipped? Do the same things work for them as for Soft and Flamboyant Naturals? I don’t think so

zeudi: What season is Beyonce

RosaEngelchen: Can I be a soft natural but be tall?
