Wigs To Help Hope During Chemo Hair Loss (Official Godiva'S Secret Wigs Videos)

Hi everybody, i'm rochelle, the mother of the mother-daughter team of godiva's secret wigs and i am really truly honored to have pastor michael's, wife hope with me today say hi to everybody hi and we are going to cover a really important topic and i'm just so honored To have hope with me today, because i know there are many of you that are watching this video that are losing hair for many different reasons for hope today, she's going through chemo and is losing her hair, and so there are lots of reasons and lots of Good information that will put your mind and your mind at ease, so we're going to cover that so you might want to also have a pen and paper take some notes or write down. I'M going to put quite a few styles on hope, because you can see she's beautiful it's going to be easy and fun. Okay, so just tell me, have you ever worn a wig before i've never worn away before yeah? You know how i like wig virgins. This is good, starting with me, okay and so um. When did you find out, you were diagnosed how long ago well about a this is my second round of chemo. So about a year ago i had the first round and um my hair thinned during that, but i didn't lose it all. You know, so it got pretty bad, just ponytails toward the last, but okay um. But now this time it is coming out like over the past week. It'S just you know. Every time i pull it, there's more coming out. So, okay, i don't know how that's gon na go. It feels like it's gon na all be gone so got it. Okay, and so when did you start your chemo? This is uh this last time i started so i've i'm about to have my third treatment. So it's been about. I don't know three weeks, three or four weeks, okay, yeah. So so typically, i always say typically because doctors and patients are all different, but typically from working with clients over 25 years, you will start to lose your hair from chemo between the first 10 days to two weeks. It will start releasing and part of that means that the chemo is working. It'S going to release and your hair 99 of the time always comes back. So it's good to know. Yeah and the less stress that you're under the more it will come back and the quicker it will come back, but the reality is it's going to be. It typically could be 9 to 12 months until your hair is back to a style that you like, but not to worry, because i'm here and there's so many great choices in wigs. So our wigs that could die the secret, wigs, they're, wash and wear. And so i'm just telling you that because they keep the style that you have i'm wearing tiffany in silverstone. So when i wash this wig, it dries the way i bought it. Okay, okay, so before we go further, uh hope has a fan club. Okay, so you say you're starting to lose your hair, yes, and so it is up to every woman but many times what i do. While the hair is releasing are two things cut, it shorter yeah, because part of the upset is all day long, you're going uh, yes, and that is causing you more stress, traumatic, yeah. Yes, so i can cut your hair right now and all i do is i cut it in a short pixie, i'm not doing anything extreme and then, when you're wearing a wig, you wear a nylon, wig cap, so a wig cap, and i i wasn't expecting you So i'm not fully prepared with everything, but this is a mesh wig cap a mesh is open. You can see these little holes. This is a different reason and it's got a hole at the top to put a lot of hair in. But if you look up on godiva's secret wigs.com are nylon wigs, i wig caps. So if you wear that, while your hair is releasing, it just falls right into the wig cap, it's not getting on the wig, and so many women. They don't wait until their hair is all gone. I mean we're all wearing wigs and we're not losing hair, so you could start wearing it getting used to it, enjoying it and wear the the nylon wig cap under it. So two suggestions cut it shorter. You know some women, they want it. They have one little thread, little strand of hair, left and they're holding on to it. So my suggestion from working with so many women is: let's move forward. It'S going to come back, let's not resist, let's, because that causes more stress to your system. Let'S go with it. Let'S move forward on to the next chapter: okay, so your choice, you'll, let me know we can always do that. Okay, so can i take your point? Okay, so right now just and this pony pulls a lot of ponytails. So i'm going to get you a little different one get these nice stretchy and if you have real short hair, you have no hair. You don't need to put your hair back. This is only if you have longer hair, like you, know, mine or real long hair. So right now, i'm just going to put your hair in a low pony and i'm not pulling i'm going to be very gentle until you're. You know you think what you want to do: okay, so i'm going to take you kind of close to your comfort zone because you know we're all used to looking at ourselves and our family and everyone. So i'm going to keep you kind of close to color and style. Okay! So look yeah, okay, nice. So this is one of my favorites freedom in harvest gold. So i'm going to put it on and then i'll show you how to put it on okay. So i'm starting always lower, so i'm going to do it again, just look straight ahead and then i know right where i'm getting it all right there you go so i start lower because i'm moving up and in the event that you are losing all of your Hair, you will always still see a line. That'S where you're going to stop. Then all my wigs have little tabs. You make sure they're even on each side, all the bangs and i know you're a bang lover and so i've chosen wigs that i can put bangs into or that already have them yeah, but they come longer. So then we customize them for each woman's forehead. It'S really cute yeah, so yeah gosh really really cute, so don't even make a choice right now, because you're probably in shock. Yes, all right: okay and that's okay, and that's what it feels like a lot right here: okay and that's the difference, because my hair has never been full there, so you know so and i can flatten this down and it can be in front of your ears. Do you show your ears typically yeah? Okay, sometimes i mean i can do it either way. So let's say you lose your temple hair right. This hair is perfect just to have in front so if you've lost all your hair you're not going to put all the hair of the wig behind, because you won't see that little hair and that's going to be a dead, give away that you're wearing a wig. So leave just a little bit out and this can be trimmed yeah and all this can be trimmed okay, so i'm just kind of starting you off. I wanted to see for color, because harvest gold is darn good yeah, that's a great message. Yes - and you can see yourself right here too, just to get a little different view, so i like it, let's keep going for style, because i okay, what i'm doing right now is i'm kind of working on getting you unstuck from what you're used to looking in The mirror okay, but i'm not going too far. Okay, don't be afraid. Okay, no, i'm not okay! The next, because i i saw your picture and you have a little page boys, i'm gon na, put sabrina on you and put you in creamy toffee. Now all of our wigs come in all different colors, but i know i already know you can wear anything it's just. What is your lifestyle, some women use, chemo or hair loss as an opportunity to be who they've always wanted to be yeah, because it gives them a tickle? It gives them. You know some fun and honest to goodness. Wigs can be a really empowering time. You know during hair loss, you can have a great time with it so and you can put your hands in there and feel it if you want oh yeah, the color is beautiful, creamy toffee and you know for women that are going through chemo. If you don't have long hair or even if you do keep in mind that it could be 9 to 12 months, that you're wearing a wig, so a couple of suggestions are have one that is shorter. That is super easy. I want you to turn this way and look in the smear turn your body this way, yeah. Okay, i want you to see the back okay look at this yeah. Can you see yeah very easy? It doesn't matter what neckline you have on very easy, and now you can see your profile, isn't that great yeah yeah. So i wanted you to see that. Okay, what do you think on this one? I think it's really sweet on you and i love the color. It'S darling: what are you like? What'S touching you, what do you kind of like color style? What so i'm open to different colors? Okay - and i like the longer because i do usually have my hair a little bit longer, my my so i ride a bike. I i walk a lot, so i'm active, i hike with my kids, so i something - and i wear it back in a ponytail a lot so, okay, not that i want to do that. Necessarily i just and we're outdoors and so okay, so you want easy for an active lifestyle. Yes, okay, but not necessarily super short either it could be, but you know just got it so i also want to show you just like what i did just taking. Some of this away from your face and twisting it and putting a little clip these are things if you feel the wig is in your face too much you just. Will you just look to your left a little bit? You can see just a little bit and now it's away from your face right. So if you ever feel a wig is heavy at your face, just clip it clip it up. I like that, isn't that pretty and it could be dressy. You could put this side behind your ear and leave a little bit in front. So look yeah, look at that, and so this is camouflaging in case you don't have hair right there right. So you know some different looks yes, so that was sabrina, creamy toffee r. Now we're going to keep moving along here. I really want to see this on you. It may not be the right color, but i don't know you know i go by my feel this is trixie here. I want you to feel how light our wigs are. Oh yeah yeah, that's very light, isn't it and i want you to see also our caps are open and airy. So i can put my fingers - oh wow, all through this, and it doesn't inhibit hair growth. So many women - i don't know if you used to think this, but that oh, if i wear a wig all the time, it's going to slow down my it's going to make my hair stop growing. Did you ever think that i never thought about it? I thought it so: okay, all right there you go so so you never sleep in a wig. At least you know once in a great while something's going on, you don't want to take your wig off okay, but otherwise take your wig off at night, but during the day, just know that your scalp can breathe and it doesn't inhibit your hair growth. Okay, most important okay, so this is trixie in nutmeg f, so up at the hairline, even the tabs, and so why don't you put your hands in there? I want you to start feeling yeah and you don't like grab the scalp, because it's not scalp it'll. Take the wig right off right, so you kind of graze across the scalp or the cap of the wig and just know that very easy trimming thinning. I can make this thinner lighter. I can open up and make the bangs airier a good hairdresser, can trim bangs thin out, make it shorter, like everything like that. So this is sorry. This is a little longer than freedom, which is like more in your comfort zone. Maybe what do you both think? What do you think? What do you all think? I think it's amazing how so many colors flatter here i love nutmeg. I love the color, the color's beautiful, i'm not sure, i'm crazy about the style. I love it as soon as i would get those bangs out of your eyes. Yeah yeah. It just needs to be trimmed. It just needs to be trimmed. Do you see how it's kind of darker at the root and that's how our rooted wigs the whole wig is looks like there's roots right, so that is even more natural christmas time's coming my clients, they don't ask for shoes or whatever they say. Please, family hubby, gift certificates, put all the gift certificates together and get a wig get a wig that you want. You know yes too, even if your hair, when your hair does speak up a little even when your hair does come back yeah you may enjoy and have so much fun wearing the wigs. You just continue to wear yes, many of our clients. They keep wearing wigs, they're convenient yeah, it's so trixie nutmeg f. What are you thinking pretty good? I love it yeah, that's great! So so are you feeling a little better about the wig thing? Yes, yes good, and so you know to me the most important role a doctor can play and besides his most important part in healing is get you to a wig store, because so many women they wait until they're further along. They may have put some weight on. They may not be feeling great so the best time to look for a wig if you're going through chemo or you think you are - don't even buy it. Yet if you don't want to get away anywhere, you want i'm not saying you have to get from us, of course, but be ready, while you're feeling good before you start chemo. If you can, because if you wait too long, it ends up being a rush and there we are with the stress again right. So it's just kind of being prepared, so trixie, and i think it's also probably a good idea to take some trusted friends with you, because we can see you more objectively than you can see yourself and make sure your friends are honest. Yeah, yes and make sure you're honest and make sure they're i mean hopefully okay with wigs, debbie and ellie yeah. They both done videos, so it was easier to enroll youtube today. You know, but you do not want to bring somebody with you that you know is critical, doesn't like change, because this your this chapter in your life, is all about change. But it's how you react to it. Yes, what you do within the change and to not resist like with our wigs, okay, it's wig time. That'S all! So now we're going with arya in nutmeg! F! I love aria. So i want you to feel the tabs. There'S two hard little tabs curvy and it's good. If you look in the mirror and get used to it so up at the hairline, so lift that bang make sure it's up at your hairline yeah, okay, when it's there, then even those tabs. Okay and those are the most important two things to do - is that even does that seem right? Well if those tabs are even like, if you have one here and one here, so you i want you to start trusting yourself. Okay, are they even yes, perfect? Okay, so, and if you ever miss it, you're gon na have one side longer than the other and the wig our wigs will not feel right when they're not centered on your head. If you do that, every time you'll have no problem. Okay. So let me back the bang up just a little, so you can see better. So, let's talk about arya styling, similar to what i've had. I mean i've had this style color's beautiful. Is that that again nutmeg? Is that a wig? That'S not your real hair! That'S beautiful yeah, that's great! It feels so move your head. I want you to start to get a feel, shake it up down whatever you want to do, and i will be showing you how to secure it, but many women - it's just even if you lose. You know it depends how thick someone's hair is what they need to do if they lose their hair. So we'll talk about that in a minute: yeah yeah, not bad yeah, beautiful, yeah, beautiful, i'm doing good, and i like it most women that are going through chemo. It really helps them because it is not going to be a short amount of well, it's all relative. It'S going to be 9 to 12 months. I don't want a story with it. That'S the facts, and so even the most amazing wig you get tired of so being able to have some different choices is really important, so i want to break for a minute. I want to show you another item that i'm suggesting these are our danielle bangs. Okay, so when you don't feel like wearing a wig, it's just bangs on a headband bangs on a headband and it's close to the the color of the bang does not have to match the color of the wig because really nobody's looking that close right. But i want to show you what we do so, instead of just wearing a turban with no bangs, i just want you to see. Maybe you're hanging around people are visiting, maybe you're home with the family, and you just don't want to have a wig on right. There are really cute turbans or caps, and it's the bangs and you just raise them or lower them. Are they in your eyes right now, not much you can just play, but that gives you that little illusion of hair, instead of just a turbine that can kind of yell, you know chemo right so yeah, so bangs are a great great option. They come in about 10 different colors that actually matches you. It did look yeah. It was really good uh. This color, i believe, is marble brown and so, when hope goes walking or biking, she could put her ball cap on and have the bangs too. Yes, the bangs can go. I mean i'm going to show you something else, where's, my little oh there. It is so, and this is my little sample bang. So there you go, i'm going to put it back on and show you just hold it there. Okay! For me, so, let's say you're just going to throw a scarf on or you're going to throw a cap on whatever just tie it in the triangle. Put it right over just done and the scarf secures the bangs which doesn't hurt either. You know you want to feel secure in anything everything that you're wearing yeah, but isn't that cute, oh yeah, really cute i'll. Show you an another little look while we're doing this so say you have a cute little cap and tuck your. I want to hide your hair right now, but, let's you know, let's just say i'm just showing you different things: a lot of people you're not used to thinking out of the box. So i do that for you so but cute right. Instead of just the hat or just the scarf or just the turban, yeah yeah, so i want to talk to about. Let'S say in the event we don't know, what's going to happen to your hair, you may just lose a little bit again. You might lose all of it don't know, but a sleep cap is very important to all of you if you've lost all your hair, because this is the first place, the heat leaves our body and you're a little more susceptible to colds and flues. You want to stay as healthy as possible, so our turbines, our sleep caps, are all cotton, and so it's just for sleeping it's not for a beauty contest. Okay, good yeah, i mean, but you know you know yeah you're beautiful, but they come in all colors, but most important is taking care of your health, and so this keeps you cozy at night. So this is a very typical thing and very important to wear. Hadn'T really thought about that. I figured and it not just a regular turban or if you do have one just make sure it's not too tight and binding. This is loose. It'S not tight around the edges, right yeah and we do them at all colors. So this is a sleep cap. Okay, so i just want you to know it so right now, that's the job! Your cat has right keeping okay, let's move along now. Debbie said you might go for short, so i'm just gon na put you in our sweet little peggy in sugar cane um really fun. So a lot of clients will have one wig that resembles their hair and then they'll bust out. I mean the different yeah, just different looks and i think, oh, my gosh sure it's huge hope can wear anything. Anything she desires and the shorter ones would be easier for when you're active, that's true right, yeah yeah, that's really cute! Oh, you look, darling and short. Hair very cute, never tried short hair, so yeah. Oh, it's so cute again as soon as sorry as soon as i trim that and then we play and then these little side pieces you can keep down. You can still wear a cap or whatever if you want right, but you don't need it okay, so i want to make sure you know with our short wigs. Even if a woman has no hair, there is hair on the sides you can't want to make. This is not even right now, can you feel it? No, i haven't so i want you to feel feel where those tabs are there's one up high one down low yeah, so they need to be yeah. So if you get under getting under that hair and feel that there you go now they're, even and now this hair will cover in the event you lose your hair around the temple, okay, and so that color is sugar cane. Did you say this? Is sugar cane r beautiful, which means rooted yeah darker in the back great i mean this: is you the wig hair? Okay, that is you? Okay, i'm gon na? Hide it right? Okay, i really want you just to see the wig and just to show you if, let's say you want to spike it up a little bit, so you spritz a little water on your wig and just play with it. I do have an e.t head. You know it's kind of pointy. You know, but it's okay, i just yeah, that's the weirdest, your eyes adjust over a period of time. Yes, you know yeah, we all are creatures of habit, and i i have my little rhyme with new consultants is put the client in the chair and keep her there, because if you sit, a client sits with a wig for 10 to 20 minutes. She will get more used to the wig and then when she takes it off she's going to go. Oh, what is that yeah? So we're just creatures of habit? It'S just and that's why it's good to unstick you from what you're used to yeah. You look cute. Okay, let's have a smile here: okay, okay, okay, all right keep going; okay, sure we are still on the move here, so that was peggy right, peggy, okay, now, which one is the best so far i mean, there's none. I think that we're saying no, i kind of wish there was because it's not going to be easy. Okay, chantal maple sugar sounds sophisticated. I don't know well, it's every wig is what you accessorize it with and what mood you're in you can wear it and you feel the tabs. Apparently so. Okay, i'm keeping her in a range of colors. Oh cute, yes, oh my gosh, all right now. Let'S, just i want to make sure you, okay, you're, not exactly even so, that'll be okay and so just move it a little bit all right right. It can be pulled back and clipped yeah like as we're getting a little bit longer in wigs there's, not too much, but you could do my little stick here. I like that, you could put a little behind your ears, keep some in front and, let's just do it on both sides, just to have a look right, keeping some of that hair in front wow. I love when i've got a thousand tall and maple sugar. Just so sassy sassy and yummy, it's really cute on youtube. Can you look in that mirror? I want everybody just to see it's a great, easy, good length. Okay, yeah. I like the length great cut a little nip on the bangs, it's kind of a shaggy. It kind of looks like it's really cute. You look good in all of them. Well, we are going to narrow it down. I'M going to take you through the rest. We have a few more to do and we will be done well, let's find something we can say. No to that, so i'm i'm taking you longer now mckenna, okay, i look at you because i know you know these in mochaccino and i'm i'm grabbing this one. Knowing i can trim the length i can trim more bang. I cannot. I cannot. Okay, that's longer and right now, let's just flatten it down here, just keep it flat, it is longer, but you can pull it back and put a clip yeah. You can put it all back in a pony or a little side pony, so there it is, and our wigs are just meant to throw on. They can be messy, they look natural. Okay. Can i go to the side yeah play play. Play play here's a brush. If you want to play a little bit yeah just you know, and that's the best thing when a client that we haven't worked with, she orders a wig we ship it and by the way, every wig i'm putting on hope today has not been trimmed altered. Teased brushed, nothing, zero has been done, they would be. The wig you receive would be identical to the swig to these wigs. How do you thoughts? How do you feel about the flippy? It looks good on you just there's a lot here. I don't know if that's well, i could i can light up yeah and i can thin it out and make it more. So and sometimes a wig looks better, not the way we're used to parting it and we're going for the wig looking great and natural on you so yeah. When i get a new wig, i'm just i'm playing with it doing it. Okay, let's try this side, i'm trying to hide my wrinkles here on the forehead. You know so, but let's you know, let's try this yeah and just have a look at it, and sometimes i wear one wig, but i switch it all back and forth as i want to no one. No one is taking us that seriously that they're going to say all right wait a minute. You parted your hair right, the other side. Really, you know yeah, it's true, that's true! It is very pretty on you yeah, and you could grab this back and okay way, down low yeah and just have these little wispies. You can turn them under, but michaela really wants to flip up. I like flippy, oh yeah, flip, it's, okay! Okay, it's cut to do that, so really cute, really cute: okay, okay, i've got two more and we're going a little longer now: okay and then we'll go back and we'll look okay, harmony, i'm putting on you in creamy, toffee r. So the way you put a wig on you're looking at the wig turn it upside down. So you see our tabs okay on each side of the tag of our label, our sizers they're like little bra straps. You can tighten or loosen okay. So what i'd like you to do is put your thumb and your forefinger and just hold those two little metal tabs. Okay, so you do that now, you're going to touch the top of the wig, which is the bang like in the middle of your forehead. Do not try and get to the perfect spot. Okay, so go right ahead kind of like a bathing cap and we're gon na just put it over your little bun right now. Okay, there you go, got it yeah now, instead of just going like this feel. Under look make sure it's at your hairline and you can move the wig okay. If that is right, now go to your temples, make sure those are even okay, they are when they are then go ahead and play with your brush or your fingers and a start to see is this um? This is something for me. What do you think? No, i don't know it's cute too. I like it. I like the one before better. I think how about it? Yeah i like the color yeah, the color of the color, the other one, okay, something about the style of the other one. This one is a little bit more okay, i think the other one looks more natural on you and the color. I mean i don't know in this cut with this color. If i have to take something away, which we do - i mean my vote, but it's only mine - not yours would be, let's pull harmony away right now, all right. What do you think yeah agree? Okay, bye, bye, harmony, all right, and i i have to put you in taylor, because it's just a phenomenal wig. It might not be for every day yeah, but you want to go out with your husband. You are so again. Let'S take it up just a little, so you can see yourself. Okay, also like i felt that you just did, because you don't know these tabs, they have wire in them a straight line of wire. So when we pull on them, sometimes the tabs go out like a like wings. You do not want that. So come back and just press those down all right and the reason for the wire, especially in your situation, if you don't have hair, is you want to make sure the wire is now going to cover and make sure you have hair at your temples, yeah? Okay, so uh huh. Now we can pull it back. You can clip it. You can do anything. You want wow, that's a lot of hair yeah, it's sort of too much yeah. I haven't had that much hair in a long time. Well, how does it feel that i like it? No, i mean i don't hate it. I used i used to have this hair um, similar and just dark. I mean years ago, so it's not that it's just yeah, okay, take it back and flip it yeah yeah and when you get them home and you fool around with them and you make them your own right, you know, but that's really cute. I like that. That'S way cute, it looks good with your long amazing neck that i am so jealous of cool yeah. So not saying it's the best. It'S you know it's another option for you to have different looks you know as a gift for doing this video with me today. Very courageous and i am going to gift you any wig that you like so yeah, thank you yeah. So where do we go from here? Should we try them on quickly again and start saying what do i like about it? What don't i like about it? Okay: okay, let's go backwards, then! Okay, so so last call on this one. What and put on this? It'S not my favorite, okay, okay! I i think so too. I think i would vote for something shorter and easier and maybe mikayla or something medium yeah yeah and, as you get used to wigs your tastes, changing you may want to grow into some longer ones right. You know, as you get used to them and seeing more of the fullness, because your eyes will change yeah, how you look at yourself, you'll get used to seeing that fullness. Yeah. Okay, i like taylor. I think i like this one because i'm comfortable with the longer hair and yeah um. I think you could definitely pull it off, but i know i don't want to bring down my face. It does anything. No, it doesn't do that, but you did say active lifestyle. Yeah yeah so, and so you know i'm trying to keep that one in mind too for you. So let's keep going. Let'S go and let's start at the beginning: okay, okay! So because now you're going to see them now, you're getting a little more used to it. Yes, okay, so here put freedom on please, okay, there you go and it really helps to look in the mirror to see the hairline to see the tap like you're looking you're, looking so on the hairline yeah, even at the hairline. Okay, make sure those wings are not out and they're in hairs up at the hairline. Okay, and you can use your fingers all right. Your brush the thing with freedom and with our wigs is one or two minutes and then go live your life right.
