Do i just look this bad? Oh, my goodness, i'm taking out my locks and i wanted to show y'all how i took them out. I got lots. Lots of requests to show actually taking them out in the install video, so this is going to be a little demo of how to take the locks out specifically for the method that i did so. I'Ve been able to work through all of my head and just today i started at about ten o'clock. It'S almost four, so it's a good day's work, but i was able to do it all in one day with no help. I have this last section of locs. The first thing that i'm going to do is cut the lock underneath at the very end of my hair. You want to get as close as possible to your actual hair. Do this, when you have lots of time and patience, not when you're in a rush, because you just want them out, you don't really want to be bald. You just want them out on all these locks, you're able to kind of feel the knot and like where it ends, or you can kind of estimate like where your hair ends. But there is a part where, like it's a thicker part and then it gets like super thin and i can feel that's where the knot is and i'm just cutting all of them right there. So if you're like unsure um cut down one unravel it until you can start to feel your hair, so i just like feel it feel it, and i think the knot is right there, because it just gets like significantly less tough. I don't know how to explain that, but it's like skinny right there when i was doing it because i just cut right there and it looks really short, but i thought i folded my hair in half. This is the only part that we wrapped. It'S stiffer. That'S what it is and then the rest of luck is like much softer and that's where i feel that my hair ends but again cut a little bit longer. So i recommend taking one lock and just kind of trying to like feel where your hair is, and then you can use that one as a guide. So now we're just cutting off this lock. This is going to get us to where the knot is so we can un um unravel the knot um, because we knot our hair at the middle because we're going for the knotless look. We actually have to work from the middle as opposed to starting up here, because that's not going to help us get these all the way out. Originally, i thought, because i rubber band it and then crocheted it through the my rubber band loop, that all i have to do is break the rubber band and then pull my hair out. So i did that i broke through a band and i tried pulling my hair out and it wouldn't budge because it was wrapped so tightly and i thought i was like stuck like. I thought this was going to be the end of this channel like i would never be. I would have to cut no i'm just kidding, but i thought i was like i was. I was about to go into panic mode, and so i was like i just actually can't do it, i'm not going to take them out i'll deal with this later, because i just can't do it um. I hope i didn't cut any of my hair. I don't know sometimes i honestly can't feel it and so i'll just have to cut it like longer, like my hair comes right here, so i know that if i fold in my hair - it's not that long. So that's what i'm gon na do. I don't know where that one is right there. I know this one. I don't know if you can see that, but this is like the knot. It gets really bulky right there, which helped it look more natural because it was um. It was imperfect. So that's just gon na help us so we're gon na cut that so yeah anyways. This method is the best to get them out, um and any other way, probably won't work, because i tried it already um. So, thank you guys for asking for the takedown, because i feel like i probably would have skimmed over that just out of like convenience for me not having to film it. But i would have had a lot of people like out of luck, because i know a lot of you guys followed that tutorial. So now that we've cut it we're just going to pull on this and it's going to start unraveling it and we're going to be looking for the end of the loop of our hair. So our hair is going to be in like a bent up shape and that's what we're looking for. So, if you cut it close enough, you should find it pretty closely like. I think i did so you're looking to cut that knot where you crocheted it off and then, if you start to feel your hair, you can push the fake hair up. I hope this is a good tutorial. I'M sorry if it's a little confusing, but i'm feeling the end of my hair right here. Let me see if i can show you there's a little loop, that's my hair! So i'm going to pull the fake hair up to expose more of my hair. I don't know if you can see that, but it's my hair and i'm just going to untwist it because they're kind of twisted in itself. So now i found the loop of my hair. I don't know if you can see that and i'm going to pull it. Don'T cut too close okay! So now i have exposed my hair and it's okay, so now that my hair is exposed now we're going to work backwards and unravel it, so we're just gon na like twist it in the way, the opposite way that we wrapped it and i'm just gon na - Be looking to get my hair underneath the fake hair like find loops of fake hair like this and pull on them and then cut them. You wanted to start cutting at loops to get the unravel, uh the wrap, unraveled and exposing your hair more and once you cut enough, it's going to just start sliding off, so we're kind of working backwards, but not backwards, but deconstructing what we did and it starts To just fall off so i'm like unraveling the fake hair and trying to get my fingers underneath the hair like this, and then you cut that and it loosens up the wrap. So every once you make one cut it, this isn't loosens it up a lot and then it starts sliding off until it starts setting up a lot. So now i have even more of it off cut this off anytime. You start getting like chunks of the fake hair, just cut it off, because you don't want to like try and um and like unraveling it or pulling your hair through and through, because that's just going to make it more knotty, just cut it and it'll fall off. Like that and it's off there's a little piece left and we're done with that one all right: let's do it again. I hope this makes sense all right, so we've got the nub and now i'm pulling at the bottom of it, because it's gon na unravel it and you just start unraveling it and pulling and you'll find the part where you attached the fake lock onto the loop Of your braid, so i just i push up the fake hair. This is the wrap hair that we wrapped on top that i'm pushing up to expose my hair and then from there. I can put my fingers through my hair and pull down to un lock it from the rubber band and it comes off the rest of the lock comes off, and then you start unraveling it, and this is where you start cutting getting your fingers underneath the wrap Hair and cutting it and then it will start coming off and you do that all the way up until it's all done. So i'm putting my finger through like this all right. So here's this instance where you might want to start like unraveling, your hair like pulling your hair through and through and trying to like unknot it but perm. I promise i just cut it and it's going to make it so much easier and it'll just start falling off, and you won't have to worry about it's just going to make your hair more like knotted up. If you try like unraveling it as opposed to just cutting the fake hair into pieces, the easiest way that i know what my hair is in the fake hair is that a fake hair is like sounds plasticky, and it's a little rougher on my fingers and my Hair, it feels oily and is a little bit softer feeling then but you're, just kind of looking for that perfect piece to cut that will on unlock all of the hair out of your part like that one and then just pull the little nubs. That'S the top. That'S it we crocheted to wrap, and then it's done. Oh also, i'm sitting on the couch watching tv like i'm, trying to be as comfortable as comfortable as possible, and i'm just throwing all of my hair, i'm just throwing all of my hair on the floor to clean up later. Like i, don't i'm not trying to be like super clean right now, i just want to like move through it very quickly, so i'm just literally just like throwing it on the floor, and i'm just i don't know if i mentioned, but i'm in my cycle and Sometimes it really puts me through the ringer emotionally, so i just got done crying hysterically um, but i'm thinking i'm going to cut my hair now i've i was thinking i was going to just try and grow my hair out as long as i can get it. Um, but i'm i'm like overwhelming urge, i just want to cut it into the bob that i've always wanted just too scared to cut, and i'm really hyped up about it like i. If i can, if i can get these out quick enough, i'm going to do it so and i think it would just be so cute. I know it's going to be cute um i just want. I want to go back to an all length. I mean a one length. Excuse me, i'm going to go back to a one length hairstyle or a haircut. I'Ve had like more of a layered bang style ever since i started the beginning of last year. I think i cut my hair and bangs and stuff, and i was i was trying to do that like rounder look, but i want like all one length look, and so i just need the front pieces to grow a little bit more. The back of my hair grows so fast, so it's gon na seem like i'm cutting up a lot, but the top of my hair grows so slow. So i'm really evening my hair out to the top of my hair um, the back just grows so fast. It'S a different texture and it grows way faster than the rest of my hair, oh, and also i have just - i have like two inches of bleached hair left on my hair. I only have the side that i never recolored black right here and it's literally just like scraggly ends, and so i accidentally cut one of these pieces, which was a color piece and it's like so much better. So i'm thinking i cut like the ends off of all the ones in the back and i'm going to use that as a guideline to like cut all of my hair still. So that's some! That'S the plan, i'm going to see how my hair looks like all combed out and i'm going to eat my hair a little bit more and get some more of the bleached ends, because i'm so close to having um virgin hair back. Even though i don't think it's going to be supervision because i have a rinse on it, but i won't have any um bleached hair by the end of the year. I should have all the bleached hair gone, so it's pretty exciting. Also. I hope that i explained taking them out the best like at least the starting point for you guys to like kind of get it but cutting the ends and then pulling the wrapped hair up to expose your real hair and then just unwrapping. Hopefully i did it well enough, so so so i think this is cute, there's a part that i missed in the back that i just need to get all right y'all. So this is the end of the video of my takedown and haircut. I'M. Actually, i'm really excited about it, because i've been really wanting to do this, but just too scared like i showed y'all what i actually cut off and it never even it didn't. Even look like a whole bunch like i was losing like a whole bunch of hair. It was really um dead ends and because all the ends are bleached, it wasn't really anything it needed to get cut off anyways. So i wanted to get a head start, so i only have just a little bit left on the ends and it's you know i'm getting closer to having no um bleached hair anymore, and i was because i wear my hair stretched um 100 of the time and Like a blowout style or i'll stretch with a blow dryer afterwards, i could do this on my on the stretched hair. Now, if you wear yours like in your wash and go natural coils like your natural curls, i wouldn't have done this. If i, if i wore it like that, i wouldn't do this, but i always wear my hair in like a stretched format. So that's how this is going to work. For me, the back row is so much faster than the top that um it always made. My top look like it was short and broken off and really just doesn't grow as fast. I'M tired of being like super attached to my hair um. I was going to talk about this in, hopefully, y'all can hear me. I was going to talk about this and my i was going to make a 5 year natural hair journey, video, which i probably still this is my fifth yard. In june, it made five. I made five years natural and leading up to it. I was kind of feeling like let me do a whole bunch of protective styles, because my hair isn't as long as i was wanting it to be at five years, because i decided to have like lots of fun with it and experiment with it over the last. Like three years two to three years, especially doing it more often for youtube videos, um and then it almost made me not want to make the video, because i was like this - is not what five years natural should look like right. That'S what i was feeling like. Um, but now over the summer since i've had the lux - and i wasn't even worried about my hair - i was like i realized. This was like last week when i was thinking of like maybe just cutting some of my hair. I realized that the journey like the natural journey that i was that i would like to be on is not about how much length i got, but more so how i grew as a person with in my relationship with my hair. So i kind of stopped worrying about the length for a while now, because i just enjoyed how it looked in like a fro, like my perm rod, says that's my favorite look and that is not a length the priority. Okay, you know it's just like. I think worried about length has nothing to do with worrying about how good your hairstyle looks after you style it. If that makes sense - and so really what i like is my hair to look nice in its styles, not for it to look super long because anytime, i straighten my hair. I always want my natural hair curly back curls back, so my favorite thing is to have like nicely styled hair, not long hair. So there's no point in me holding on to length that's like super long in the back and short in the front in a really odd shape, while i'm in my like natural state, because it's hurting that i like for my hair to look good in the hairstyle. So i need my hair to look good in the hairstyles, so that means i can prioritize getting a haircut because that's how my hair is going to look good and the hairstyle, and that means length doesn't matter whatsoever. That'S what i'm trying to say. I was just doing that thing where you hold on to your length for no reason um, even when it's hurting your hair. So i'm glad that i overcame that and got these locks out and i'm about to style my hair yeah, i'm going to start a new video, so i hope you guys enjoyed this one and i was able to help you navigate getting them out. Hopefully i included or voiced over some more tips, because there was some more things that i wanted to talk about. Um but yeah make sure you detangle your hair before you get step in the shower after you take your locs out. If you've had them in for anywhere longer than like three weeks, you need to detangle, or else it's gon na, be a matted mess and then you're really gon na want to shave your head. Okay, so yeah i'll talk to you guys in the next one, bye,

Jazz-axy: I feel you on the “this isn't what 5 years should look like”. I been natural my whole life but joined the community 8 yrs ago. It used to feel like a fail not having to pull my hair out of my asscrack (same hair type). It's just mid-back. But now, like you I also wanna cut it to one equal length And thanks for uploading the removal, I'd have been bald after taking the rubber bands out first.

Angellica Jimenez: I can't wait to see you style your hair after shaping! I've been thinking of cutting my hair recently, too because I like the length but the shape is just weird to me...

Tina Mckoy: Yasssss I have been feeling the same about my length. I been natural for 10years. So I shaved all my hair off it was so freeing
