RaDona's videos are specifically for those that are wanting to learn how to cut hair, learn new skills as a hair stylist and to be able to show your own hair stylist, the hairstyle and cut you would like.

Hi everyone, i'm madonna from boys and girls hairstyles. Today i have karen with me and she's a sweetheart. She started coming to me gosh seven eight years ago, when she found me from another gal anyway and we've been super good friends ever since, and she is just she is the hardest working woman. I know so that's a little bit about karen and she has a really cute haircut, so i wanted to show you um. This is a great cut for thin fine hair um we're going to stack it here in the back after we take the bottom. We like that just straight across and i'm going to just clean this up a little bit and then come do this side. Yeah karen that's grown a lot, maybe yeah! Maybe i just had a really. Maybe we didn't take it yeah or we didn't take as much off last time, like that's long. That is long, so this will feel good. Okay, so we've cleaned that up now. What i'm going to do is take from the top of the ear and then i'm going to just pull this up out of the way same thing over here, i'm just going to pull that out of the way. Okay! Now for the stack you can see, i'm i'm going up about. Can you see that on the angle so um she likes it? You know just a little bit tighter, not extremely tight by the nape area but tighter here, so she doesn't have to mess with it because who wants to mess with the back of their hair. Exactly right, i can't see it. That'S right! You can't see it. No! You just want it to just dry to its spot. So that's what i like to do i like to to cut it short enough that when she dries it it just kind of dries into its place, but not too too short karen. That was long. Was it? Okay, yes yeah! I'M holding this out going wait what so that was probably hard for you to do. For the last little bit, yeah yep there must have been a growth spurt or something because that's crazy. Well, it's to feel wonderful. Now again, every time i leave phil's wonder: oh thanks, that's good! That is my goal. Okay, all right, so you can see how that's starting to stack on that angle. Same thing here, i'm just going to make sure that's tight, pull it out this way and just use that guideline that you cut on the hair before. If that makes sense, so when you cut it - and you go to take the next section, then you just obviously connect it to the hair that was cut on the section before that. Okay, so yeah, that stack is looking so cute um all right now. Now i don't need to use the clippers. I can just kind of just comb that forward. Okay, so you can see, there's the guide point and i'm connecting from that guide point, and i am going up on a little bit of an angle and then i start to come like i'm going to do a 90, which means straight out from the head. Okay, perfect wow did you like? Was you round brushing your hair karen? Yes, okay! Was that a lot of round brushing or did it seem longer or like to dry it yeah? It seemed like it took a little bit longer: okay, all right because i'm but oh, so i really got a lot of hair growing there huh. You really do it's nuts, okay, so i connected that. Then, of course, the hair from the back of her ear and take that off, okay, awesome, awesome and now this side, you can see that guide point. So i take that hair off okay and karen works early, so she likes something easy. So if any of you out there work early, this is a good cut. Well, and it's nice too, because i, when i went with this cut before i had to pull my hair back all the time anyway, oh right! Well, that's so true, and i have not regretted it once since i kept this good because it is it's it's quick, very quick, good and, like she said you know, she'd have to pull it up for where she works. So that's when she decided to just cut it and she hasn't regretted it. She said. So that's that's awesome. If you're out there wondering oh, do i cut it, i got to pull it out of you know. I don't do anything with it because it worked anyway, and this way i felt like it, you know it has style. You know where right, that's so bad it just yeah good good. I loved it love to hear that, so you can see that i'm coming around the shape of her head and i can show you on this next section um what i mean about the guideline, so you can see right there see where it ends. That'S the guideline from the hair below, so that's where i just follow, and then i follow that guideline and i just keep following the guideline as you go up. Okay, awesome same thing with guideline here: okay, so you can see that corner. That'S coming off! Okay! Sweet! All right now, this top nordon it felt kind of heavy when in my bangs lately it's kind of felt heavy as it comes forward. Oh okay, perfect! So when so, it just feels like it's kind of blah, yeah, just kind of heavy and flat yeah, perfect. Okay. So if, if anybody's feeling like that, what you can do is you can see how this is longer up here? What you're going to want to do is take from these layers that are back here and come more straight across instead of up on an angle, you're going to want to come straight straight across. So it's going to lift that hair up, because obviously, if she's feeling like it's hanging, it's because all that's too long, and so the weight of this up here is going to be more floppy. So if somebody is asking about that and they're feeling heavy, that's something that you could do is come straight across instead of go up on an angle to keep the front longer um. So thank you karen for because i think you'll really see a difference. Okay, thank you with this yeah because it'll take some of that length off. Instead of having it longer in the front to hang longer, okay um, you really should notice the difference. So, okay, just taking up this side again kind of coming around the head and then just connect that layer and then, of course karen i will, you know, fix your bangs and stuff like that um she does a love, a little bang kind of off to the Side a little bit so i'll show you that in a second now, what i want to do is make sure on this side that i come and trim these up, and there goes my comb, so i will grab my other one. Okay, now same with this side, i'm gon na hold this out. Take that little corner off see that little corner, and you can see that guide point see those that layer, so you just take that corner off and that corner makes it. So it's not so bulky by the sides, so you don't feel like you have dog ears and that's nice too yeah, because sometimes, if you feel like that, then all you can do is just end up putting it behind your ear. That'S true, you know get rid of the dog ears, put it behind the ears, that's so true, okay, so we just took that corner off and then of course, i'm going to come on this side and make sure that that side is cut. Also, okay and then i like to obviously do this: okay, now the bang area. So what i like to do with karen is bring it on an angle. So you can see right here. So i'm going to start up here at the top and come down and what's nice is that gives you a bang but not like straight across beams, but it keeps it more out of your face so with her job and that's that's the best way we found For her bangs to be for her is not straight across but more of an on an angle and then of course over here, you just come and trim this a little bit just so. This is a little bit shorter through this area, so it kind of matches on the other side and then we love texture. Don'T worry, i do a lot, so even the texture up through this top will help you also okay, um. Now what you guys need to know about texture is don't texturize in any part or don't texturize right by the scalp. So you want to at least come about a half an inch from the scalp or you can hold the hair up and where it bends is. Where you can put the texture, because that means it's heavy, where it's bending so all right now, i'm going to put some volume and lift spray in here that smells good. Isn'T that the best smell? That'S like one of the new products - and it's makes me so, is it? Is it the root lifter? So it's like the root lifter with the thickening spray. Oh together, it's like yeah, like they had a baby miracle, so yeah they were. They were getting busy on the shelf. That'S right! Thank goodness right, but it reduces it down to the one step which is nice too, like if you're using a thickening spray, so yeah, so that um and then what i do is i go back and forth today. So she gets more volume where her hair is more fine and thin. Then the more movement you give it when you dry it the more volume you get. So if you're just drying your hair in one spot, it's just gon na dry flat. So if you move your hair around when you dry it, that's a really good, um, pointer or hint for people with fine hair, so yeah, that's that's all the volume um and that's without round brushing the brush. So i just want you to see. I wish i wish you could see wow. I do need to do that more than just with the brush, because yeah so once you do that it's about eighty percent, um, okay and then yes and then i'll come in and use the brush and that this you know when it's eighty percent gray and you Guys can see that, like that's the haircut, that's cute, but then it gives it that volume back here. So when it's 80 dry, it's easier to use the round brush plus it's also not pulling on your hair. So that's a huge point too some people when they try to round brush they hand brush when it's too wet. So it takes them a long time and then it just really pulls on their hair. I leave an eight double n in her hair for that's the color of it. So just so you know that okay, so and i use the 20 volume of her color. Will you say the color again? Yes, it's the 8 double n, which is good to cover gray natural highlighting is what we call it around here: natural highlighting i'm getting word for everybody, natural, highlighting some gray, okay, so i'm just making sure that's dry on her side, wow karen, your hair looks so Full, oh and that's what i can do with that color, because it is my hair's so thin does that? Does that feel better like as far as heaviness? Yes, okay by sight and by feeling, oh, my cute, i love it okay, so karen just likes to wear. Wear it just with this volume and not back combing um, and so i'm just going to turn her around. I am obviously going to spray it a little bit, but i'm going to turn her. So you can see how cute and soft and, like like we've, talked about her bangs, just kind of go to the side and she just likes it soft so anyway, thank you. Thank you awesome, and i appreciate all of your support and you watching, i hope, you've had a great day and thanks for um enjoying this with me, so i really appreciate it have a good day.
